I had a large tree fall in my front yard. One call to Ashton and they were out at my house to estimate the job to remove the tree. Within hours, the tree was gone. The crew was professional and very detailed and made sure that I was satisfied with the work. I have already reached out to them to perform some more tree work.
Excellent service, fair pricing, fast turn-around time, and great clean up! The crew came out after the tornado winds took down our enormous mulberry tree that was across 2 yards and sitting on a garage. They were very conscientious about the area and neighbors and made sure to ask before doing anything. Would definitely hire again and will refer anyone looking for this type of work to them.
Helped us clean up after the tornado. Incredibly fair pricing, and they were kind and professional. Helped us remove two very large trees and 6 arborvitaes. Took care to protect a sentimental bush underneath everything and even protected our daughter's fairy garden. 10/10 would hire again. Have already recommended to friends and family.
For tree trimming and removal, I highly recommend this company. I have a very large maple in the backyard with a deck built around it. The tree had never really been trimmed and was getting close to power lines and there was a lot of dead wood. I also had a 60 ft pine tree growing between my driveway and my neighbors house that has always bothered me since moving in a couple years ago. I was concerned that the tight quarters and size of the tree might cause a difficult job with a large price tag… I quoted with Ashton and another company to trim the maple and remove the pine. Ashton quoted me a price literally half of what the other company wanted and was able to get to my job within the month. Everyone I communicated with from the company was friendly and professional, the work was done well and the cleanup was good. The one thing they could improve is the timeliness of communication from the office. I had to ask about scheduling before I could get scheduled and had to ask about payment before they gave me an invoice. Neither of these really bother me, especially compared to the nightmares other contractors have put me through in the last couple years. Very happy and would definitely recommend for tree trimming and removal.
After a deer rubbed all of the bark off of my Japanese Maple and killed it, my neighbor recommended I give Ashton tree and Landscape a call. Jeremy and his team gave me a quote for 3 different trees along with some mulch and yard clean up work. After deciding on a tree, the team at Ashton was able to rip out the Japanese Maple, plant a great new Weeping Cherry tree and lay down 10 yards of mulch all in one afternoon. Jeremy even came back the next day to inspect the work and make a few touch ups. A month and a half later and the new Cherry tree is growing nicely. I would definitely recommend Ashton Tree & Landscape for great work at competitive prices.
I had a 19 year old Japanese Maple in a raised bed that was planted 11" from my brick. I requested three landscape companies to give me a bid to relocate the maple, remove the raised beds and redesign the landscaping. All three companies dismissed the relocation of the maple, saying there was zero chance of survival, and refused to quote it. One of my co-workers suggested I contact Jeremy at Ashton. Jeremy was up front and honest about the chance of survival (small but possible) of the maple during the relocation, but promised he would try his best. Jeremy's bid was a little higher than two of the other companies (not counting the relocation), but he offered great insight and suggestions for the overall design, whereas the two cheaper companies told me to pick whatever and they'll plant it. I went with Ashton in March of this year, and we could not be happier. His design and plant selection is beautiful, and everyone that passes by gives us compliments. Not only are we extremely happy about the landscaping, but the most remarkable aspect of our project is the maple not only survived, but is thriving! Jeremy followed up with me multiple times in the weeks following the relocation, and stopped over a couple times to check in on it. I truly feel he went above and beyond his scope of work to make sure that we were satisfied, and we feel he treated our project as if it was his own house. Jeremy, along with his crew of David, Jake and Dylan were professional, courteous and respectful of our property, and I would highly recommend them. We will be using them for our pavers next year and any other landscaping needs in the future. A++ in every aspect!
Ashton Tree Service trimmed a tree at our house in Redford on Monday 10/07/19. The crew was very courteous and they did a great job and clean up when they were done. Mike in the crew and Kirsten in the office did a great job of working with me and keeping me updated when my schedule changed and I had to shift my appointment from the morning to afternoon. Being the nature of the work understandably makes it difficult to provide any kind of precise time this was very helpful. I rely heavily on reviews when I am searching for any kind of service or product. While I always leave an appropriate review when I am dissatisfied with a company I often forget to leave reviews when everything works out well. Because Ashton went above and beyond my expectations by working with me when my schedule changed along with doing a great job I made a point not to forget. Also I got three bids for the job and Ashton was the cheapest by far. While I usually pick the middle bid I took a chance and went with Ashton and I am very glad I did. Actually it wasn't that much of chance because the BBB rating and reviews I read (that made sense) were all good so I don't worry as much when choosing the lowest bid for services.
Used Ashton last weekend after the storm blew through and dropped a tree across my driveway. Rich came out to give me an estimate for removal, but his crew evidently was across town removing a tree off a house already. He went out of his way to cut enough of the tree our of the way so I could get my mother to her appointment. His crew came later in the day and finished the job with perfect clean up. The other companies I called finally showed up after the job was completed.
Used Ashton for some trimming, did an excellent job.

Came out to observe the grounds and landscaping. Wrote up an estimate. The crew shows up and demands more money or they wont do the job. huh? Bait & Switch. We had the written contract in our hands!! No good. Manager had to be called out. They finally agreed to follow the contract. Even so, the job was left halfway done. Just as another reviewer stated happened to them. Mind you, this was all in writing yet they STILL argued about it. Awul workmanship and experience. Id keep looking if I were you.

Update: They just came back and took care of the issue, so Im improving my rating. I mainly hired them to cut back the branches overhanging my house, plus some othee tree work. They did well with everything except for removing the branches hanging over my house. After many phone calls and one visit confirming that the work was not properly done, and many promises to fix it, they never did.

Short and rude on the phone. Would have accepted their quote and signed the contract but between their rude secretary acting like I was an annoyance for forgetting I reached out to them a week ago (with having talked to dozens of companies in the past week to get a variety of work done to prepare a house to sell) and her inability to give me an idea of a date before signing a contract made me uncomfortable with booking their service.
My girlfriend and I bought our first house together in Westland. Unfortunately, in the first few months living here weve had 2(!) trees fall and land on the roof. Both times Ashton was out first thing the next day removing and hauling away debris. I cant tell you how amazing Brett, Mikey and the rest of the crew is and Kirsten in the office is professional and so helpful. Cannot recommend this company enough!
We hired them for major landscaping and brick paving work, We are extremely unhappy with the quality of work. Brick pavers and sod around it was done without proper grading leading to puddles of standing water when it rains. We paid top dollars and received cheap plants, and some of the plants have already died. We had to cut part of sod to drain the standing water. When we called them to come and fix some of the grading issues we didnt receive any response. I had to pay another contractor to come and fix the issues. We also had to buy few new plants to replace the ones which died. Dont use them.
Jeremy, the foreman, quoted the installation and executed the work in quick and orderly fashion. The job was incredibly difficult as no heavy equipment could be used. 88 wall constructed entirely by hand! Well done Ashton. Positive
Ive dealt with other tree services in the Livonia area, the Ashton tree guys were the most professional and friendly I have ever met. They did beautiful work, they even cleaned up the logs that Davey Left behind when they trimmed for the high-voltage wires... then they raked the area clean. I got the best service I could have gotten for hundreds less than the competitors. Ive been a contractor for 37 years and I highly recommend talking with Mike at Ashton tree services. Simply the Best!
Would NOT recommend Ashton for landscaping. Jeremy and is crew came out two weeks after the original promised date (after taking half down) They show up, its a bunch of young kids just standing there until Jeremy tells them what to do. They ran out of material for our retaining wall, so he asks for money. Doesnt bring the right size tree, so we were supposed to get money off (that didnt happen). Not even a month later...weeds EVERYWHERE he planted and he was supposed to remove a yucca plant that has now sprouted up EVERYWHERE! I have called and called, left messages and still no return call from Jeremy...oh and according to Ken they dont use landscape barrier and obviously dont care about their customers satisfaction. Stay away from Ashton for landscaping!
Had Ashton over to remove some overgrown shrubs & trees. Jeremy and his crew did an exceptional job cleaning up and recommended some low maintenance plants to replace the ones they took out. Looking forward to them coming back soon.
I cant say enough about how great they were. They did an amazing job trimming our Black Walnut tree. They were so professional, quick, efficient and tidy. My yard was spotless when they left. I would highly recommend their services.

Just had these guys remove a large dead tree from the corner of our backyard. They were fast and courteous, cleaned up after themselves, and took care of getting their equipment into and out of the yard without going through the house, and got the tree down cleanly around wires, fences, and iur fire pit. Excellent work for an excellent price, and we will definitely hire them again when its time to remove the tree in the other corner of the yard.
Impressive!! Very professional and talented. These guys had two good sized trees down in just a few hours. Ive never seen anyone move so effortlessly in a tree as Paulie. He cut with one hand and directed the branches down with the other. Everything landed where he wanted it to go, it was truly impressive. Bob made sure the stumps were ground properly and the job was clean when they were finished. Ive already recommended Ashton Tree Service to several people. Great job guys!!
I just had 2 trees taken down by Ashton. Had an appointment set for a Monday but they had to move it to Wednesday because the climber was sick. Ive been there so it wasnt a big deal for me. They showed up and got to work first thing. They worked 1 tree around my and my neighbors power, phone, and cable lines being very careful. They cleaned up after both days it took to take the trees down. They had to come back a few days later to grind the stump but didnt Bill a dime of it until the work was 100% done.
I had Ashton do a landscaping/drainage project in my yard. I could not be happier with their work or professionalism. The work turned out great and it was very timely. I highly recommend them for landscaping work.
We had a massive maple tree in our backyard that was rotting in the middle. I was told by an arborist it was technically 2 trees that had grown together. We got 4 quotes for removal from different companies and Ashton offered us the best price. We have friends who used them before and were very happy so we went with them. They worked their butts off all day (like an 11-hr day) and came back the next morning to grind the stump and clean up. I was really impressed with how quickly they worked. I was also very happy that they were able to get all their equipment to the backyard without cutting any branches off our crabapple in the front (3 companies warned me this would be a very likely possibility). I would use them again and recommend them to friends needing tree removal services.
Hired Ashton to bury our downspouts, build a retaining wall, add top soil and sod to our new construction. Beyond happy with the outcome! They did a great job and in a timely fashion. Thank you!
Ive been waiting since July 2016 for them to grind a stump out. Supposedly have a contract with the city I live in. When I call them the standard reply is youre on our list and someone will call you shortly. Still waiting for that call.
I had them out to remove 2 trees and 1 large tree limb from above my house. The service was quick and affordable, they were very friendly, and I would definitely use them again.
