Greenthumb Edinburgh in Livingston

We hired them to get rid of weeds, and to make our lawn healthier and greener. Initially there was an improvement, although there’s always been bare patches that have never been rectified. Last year we had problems with the grass going yellow. This was localised to our garden, but they blamed the landscaper who looks after the common areas. This year the grass has been nothing short of shocking. The excuse was bad weather and no one’s is looking great. After more than two years, we felt we’d been patient enough and decided to cancel because we’re not happy. Now the chancers are asking for further payment to cover any treatments already carried out. Even though we are leaving because we are not happy! This and the above explains why I would say avoid. Shocking service!

I’ve been a customer for a number of years but was recently persuaded to sign up to a monthly payment plan offering extra benefits including QUARTERLY treatments. First treatment this year was on 26th January and the next one was 10th July. The reason given was that it’s been raining - I live in Scotland!!! My advice would be to steer well away as they are clearly only interested in the money and couldn’t care less about your lawn despite what they say in their adverts. Edit - Shelley from Edinburgh called today and offered a refund which I was happy to accept. I have updated my rating to reflect what I see as good customer service.

This isn’t the first time that Greenthumb have not turned up for an appointment. The first time there must have been some confusion from the back office as they told me a different date. Luckily I was in and the treatment was done. Every time a treatment is booked I have to ring the morning of to get an approximate time. If you don’t do this you are just expected to stay in the house all day waiting for them to turn up to give access. I was supposed to have an appointment today however it was cancelled but no reason given. I was asked to call up and was told the person was sick and the only day they could do was 7 days later. I asked for an earlier time but was told they were fully booked. No apology for the inconvenience and made to feel I was the inconvenience. Rather disappointing service.

What was on site was helpful but still waiting for a callback. Year later still not a peep!

We have only had the services of "Green Thumb" for a couple of months, but we can already see an incredible difference in our lawn. The previous owners were very neglectful and we had more weeds than grass. Things are certainly turning around. Highly Recommend!
