We have had Lawn Barber since it started -- I believe it was probably in 2007. The owner, who was just a high schooler at the time, convinced us that since we were newly retired, we should just turn the lawn chores over to him and we wouldnt regret it. Seventeen years later, Lawn Barber still takes care of us and our lawn.

I scheduled leaf removal with the Lawn Barber last year and I was so impressed, I scheduled again this year and will continue to do so every year. The team does an excellent job.

Extremely happy with everything from design to finished installation, especially since it was such a large project, from removal of all existing landscaping, burying all downspouts, irrigation head placement, dirt around entire foundation with new edging, weed barrier (super thick), exact color/size tumbled rock and exact plants selected during design. We used The Lawn Barber for outdoor lighting. I cannot recommend them for lighting. They were higher than all other bids but their initial communication and overall plan seemed so much more thorough than others. Immediately after installation I questioned lights staying on all the time but was told there wasn t really anywhere else to put the main box. Weeks after installation bulbs starting burning out regularly. They did come out several times and replace probably a total of 10-15 bulbs over months. These lights are supposed to last years! I have questioned lights staying on each time every light replacement visit but with no solution offered. Fast forward a year and lights are going out again so I left multiple messages, texts, about bulbs and lights staying on with no response. Since I cannot get responses at all now I have begun to research a new company to make repairs. Several have immediately asked me why I don t have my lights on a timer ?! Good question ? I hired someone because I obviously don t know what I m doing. Nice guys but follow through and commitment to happy costumer doesn t seem to be a priority. Just sad.

Nick came out quickly and the estimate was free. His team provided quality work for a reasonable price in a timely manner! We definitely would recommend the Lawn Barber.

UPDATE: Since first using the Lawn Barber for our sprinkler system every year, we have now used their landscaping and mulching services as well. They really are a great group of people to work with and so helpful and responsive. I cant recommend them highly enough for sprinkler systems or landscaping work! We called the Lawn Barber to open our sprinkler system. This is our first home with a sprinkler so we had no idea what we were doing. Danny was fantastic! He walked me through the controls and setup, showed me how to make adjustments and even had the right part with him for a required repair. I will use the Lawn Barber again and recommend them highly.

Living in Lees Summit there are a lot of lawn care companies! I thought I stumbled into a good one with Lawn barbers but after this last application I was questioning that and my doubts were confirmed after Dale with the company wrote me back. The application was the second and was applied late. There was a double charge or as Dale told me common practice to apply 2nd and 3rd applications together. Either way there was no ownership on Lawn Barbers part for the lack of communication to me on the plan layout or explanation for the late April application window. I would be weary of this company as there is a lack of leadership and or ownership for services provided! Started out positive and sunk quickly

These gentlemen did an outstanding job reconnecting downspout, flushing out clogged pvc drainage under sidewalk, trenching and connecting drainage system to existing French drain. They were extremely careful while trenching in my front flower bed, even replanting a few plants they had to temporarily move. They went above and beyond to make sure I was satisfied with their work. Polite, capable and considerate crew. Excellent value for the work performed. Would highly recommend.

I love this lawn service. We live in a maintenance free condo. A few weeks ago, on a very windy day, the guys showed up to mow the lawns. We had had a lot of windy days and our patio chair covers had blown off and were caught in a wooded area behind our condo. My husband had had surgery and I was very busy taking care of him and was going to retrieve the covers that morning. After the guys left, I went out to get the covers and they were on our patio and they were tucked in under our patio table so that they wouldnt blow away again. It was such a kind thing to do. They went that extra mile to take care of a customer. Great company and great employees who do a great job on our lawn and those of the other condo owners. I can highly recommend The Lawn Barber!

Nick was very easy to work with and responsive as we discussed my front yard and backyard projects. Once we got everything finetuned he sent pictures of how the project would actually look and the end result was a match. The projects were done in 2 stages because the nursery did not have all of the plants available at once. When Dale came back with his crew to finish up I showed him a plant that was not doing well from the initial planting and he replaced it. Very much appreciated! Nick and team were responsive and professional. When something needed to be adjusted Nick himself came by to do it while the others were on a job elsewhere. I also plan to convert my lawn fertilizer service over to the Lawn Barber.

I had called around to several irrigation companies and decided to use The Lawn Barber. At first we were ok with the service although communication seemed a bit difficult (challenges with actually showing up to do the job on the day and time scheduled). After several hits and misses and poor communication we were up and running, or so I thought. This was our first experience using an irrigation company and I understand that spring/summer are a busy time. When we ran into issues that required another visit and we were billed double the price that we were initially told. When I asked for an itemized bill it took over a month to receive one (after weekly requests). Once that we received such a bill, I noted a discrepancy. I have addressed the discrepancy a few times and am still waiting to actually receive a valid answer. We still have issues with our irrigation system and are not able to fully utilize it. I am typically not one to complain but after hearing every excuse in the book I am frustrated with the situation.

We have had the Lawn Barber take care of all of our lawn, sprinkler and drain business for the past 7 years! Excellent service, great family business that I highly recommend! Shaun

We hired the Lawn Barber to install four french drains at our house and received a verbal estimate for the work at $175 each. When the work was complete, we received an invoice for $1,175 (which amounts to $294 for each drain). When I questioned the invoice, Nick apologized for the misunderstanding and offered to discount the bill by a whole $40. There was no explanation given for the discrepancy and Nick insisted that we pay the invoiced fee, notwithstanding the lower verbal estimate. To make matters worse, two of the four drains started leaking underground and had to be entirely replaced at our cost. So if youre interested in poor quality service by a dishonest company, The Lawn Barber would be a great choice.

I was impressed with The Lawn Barber from the bidding to the completed project. All the employees were professional and hard workers. The finished job looked amazing and was admired by many of our neighbors. When asked by our neighbors, we didnt hesitate to refer The Lawn Barber.

I m a project manager for an industrial process piping company so I had a pretty good idea of what I wanted, TLB delivered exactly what we agreed upon. His crew was courteous and professional and respected our home and property. When they were done they cleaned up and left the place just as they found it. The Lawn Barber knocked it out of the park for me. From the beginning, when Nick stopped by to give a bid for the work, I was very pleased. First, the bid was good, but more than that, Nick provided an email bid with the before and after animation of the work he proposed to do. When I submitted Nick s photos from his bid to our HOA, the HOA commented on how professional and clearly defined the proposed work would be. They wished all bids came as well prepared as The Lawn Barber did. Then the work was quick and efficient. Nick even had his guys do additional items that were not part of the bid. Every day they cleaned up before they left and all the guys were polite and friendly. I strongly recommend The Lawn Barber for your landscape and sprinkler needs.

I called Nick on the recommendation of a lawn care group. He was quick to come out and bid. His bid included all aspects of my irrigation install. He was more economical than other bidders and would complete his work in ways that showed he went the extra mile for quality. This is why I ultimately went with him. He was able to complete the entire install in one day which for our larger lawn was a big ask. After the system was up and running he showed me how to work the Rachio controller and how to adjust the different heads if I needed to. We contracted Nick Mickle of the Lawn barber for an estimate to install an irrigation system. During the discussion we also requested proposals to fix drainage issues, landscape a an island and install a flower pot watering system on our deck. All work was done as proposed and on budget. The crew worked hard for a week to complete all our tasks. We highly recommend the Lawn Barber for irrigation and landscaping work.

Nick was great throughout my irrigation installation. His design and plan was clear from the beginning and he came in with a very reasonable bid. There was a little frustration at the beginning because my project had to be pushed back but that was mostly due to weather. Nick and his crew were able to complete the project in one day, and he was very attentive to detail as he adjusted the heads and explained the system to me. I had some water pressure issues afterwards, which turned out to be unrelated, but he went out of his way to provide help and troubleshooting with the issue. Nick is trustworthy and does great work.

Contacted Lawn Barber for the first time 2 summers ago when we had a major issue with our irrigation system. They responded quickly and resolved the problem for a reasonable price. Use them every year for regular irrigation maintenance. Very pleased with their service.
