Weed Man Lawn Care in Lee's Summit

I keep getting calls from them offering services after Ive repeatedly told them Im not interested. Not sure how they got my phone number either.

I spoke to a sales representative today named Christian Cott. He has extremely informative and very kind. I definitely look forward to using there services next year!

Im not sure why I waited so long to hire them, but my lawn has never looked better! Weve been using Weed Man for about 2 years now and we have no weeds, the grass is green and soft, and with the Mosquito Hero service we also use, we actually enjoy our yard with significantly reduced mosquitos (and they LOVE me, so thats huge in my world!) The service is top notch and communication is upfront and clear. Great service - highly recommend.

I have a pretty large yard and the guy wasnt even here 10 minutes. I have called and emailed them and they said they would get back to me but so far I havent heard anything from them. I am going to ask for a refund or take them to court. I have external cameras to prove it. You cant treat a yard in less than 10 minutes or he would be on video.

Horrible company! Paid them for 1 season worth of treatment, didnt do anything for my lawn. Their service man said that if we wanted to continue service the next year we would have to pay in advance so we didnt think anything about them again. Didnt want them do treat for another year so we didnt contact them. They end up treating 2 more times this year and call me for payment and said its auto renews every year. Said I wouldnt pay since I didnt tell them yes, now they are coming after me for $128 and threatening to send to a collection agency. Worst company possible.

I received a call from Ashton about 45 minutes before he arrived at my house. When he called, he said he saw a note to call before he was to arrive, and it would be 30-45 minutes. I met him outside and said I d get the gate. We have a dog and the stretch cord must be put back on. He put the cord on and let me know. He even put the cord on for me. He was very kind!

I have moved since my last review and tried to set up services for my new house. I had a deal that we agreed to with Weedman and now they will not honor it. I did not receive a phone call or email to let me know. I am vastly disappointed in how I am being treated. I have spent thousands of dollars with this company and always paid my bill on time and now they want nothing to do with me unless I agree to autopay. My deal I had with them included no autopay but they are reneging on that after signing me up. I will never do business with them again and I highly recommend that no one else does either. It is completely unacceptable service to agree to a contract with a client and then decide to not honor it.

However this other company doesnt know the right time of year to put down sod. Its summer & its better in the fall for a successful outcome. Too bad that this other company doesnt know how to educate or when the right season is for sod. You have to know what youre doing before you can pass on the information. We have only been with Weedman for two short months, but the yard looks great again.

In March and April of this year, our yard was FILLED with dandelions and other weeds. We absolutely had the worst looking lawn on our street. Weed Man was strongly recommended by family and I can see why! Within 1 week of the first treatment, 95% of the weeds were dead! We re about 1 month out from the initial treatment and we now have one of the best lawns on the street. I truly didn t expect it to work this quickly. My only regret is not starting with Weed Man years ago!

The Weed Man employee came to my door, introduced himself, and clearly explained the treatment they were applying to my lawn that day. He was courteous, a top notch professional.

Weve used Weed Man for several years, and every year we have to call them about something. We had a guy that spent 2 minutes on our yard he literally ran through my yard and missed half the backyard, I timed him, and when I called they argued, but then I told them I have cameras, and they sent someone new out to finish the job. I would think doing the job right the first time would be the goal .This year we are adding flea control to the mix. Fingers crossed

Had Weedman for 2 years. On the first year they couldnt kill some of the crabgrass and foxtail so I treated it myself. They told me to let them do it and call them out. In the 2nd year I had to call them out a few times with no effect on the weeds, so I spot treated them myself, following the adage, if you want it done right, do it yourself. The big challenge with Weedman was their lack of accountability. They would indicated on my account that they had completed a treatment but they never placed a sign in my yard. Out of curiosity I checked my cameras (which record 24/7, not motion activated) and they sent someone out to do the job they said theyd done previously. On another occasion they were to treat the entire yard for pest control, which they left large portions of my yard untouched. Once again verified by camera. When I tried to cancel my service the customer retention person asked why, so I told him, then he began to challenge me.

Paid $1,000 for weed control, aeration and seeding. I still have weeds, and my yard still isnt covered in grass. They come and go so fast you barely even notice they were there but theyre sure quick to bill you and demand payment. Do yourself a favor and take your money elsewhere. Would not recommend

I have set up appointments and scheduled people to come out several times and nobody has showed up. When I used them in the past I didn t see much improvement to my lawn and it was probably because they never showed up. When I called the gentleman told we he doesn t know why.

I have used their services for the past few months. I have been extremely disappointed. They rush to do the service and do it half way. It feels like i am just a wallet to them. They damaged my sprinkler system during aeration (although I specifically mentioned my concern for damage when I signed up). I was told a manager would stop by to see how to take care of it. No follow up and it has been two weeks, I have to water the new seeds with a hose and it takes me 2 hours. In short the aeration was useless because they damage the watering system. Tried to call back but still no luck. Just avoid this company

This was our first year using Weed Man in KC but have used them for years in MN. A great company here as well that provided fantastic customer service!

Paid for Weed Care fertilization seeding aeration. All failed but yet payment was expected! Stay away!

Horrible service. I had to constantly call back for them to do the entire yard. They consistently didn t do my side yard. They were also always calling to up sell me on other services that the sales person couldn t even articulate what it actually did. Extremely frustrating and disappointing I canceled the service and have started with another company that s doing a much better job.

Weve used Weed Man for 5 years. Theyve taken great care of our yard and when weve had any issue theyve been super fast to resolve it.

Round 1, very specific about spraying weeds in the rock beds and on the side yards. After a few days, you can definitely see where they did and did not spray. Round 2, I called for a follow up service explaining again what I asked for and what they agreed to, I did see a sign in my yard, but no change to the weeds. (If I go buy spray and do it my self, it always works.) I used a service like this to get help when I am busy, it costs more, but expect a professional job and service. If I have to question your work and be present and watch you apply the product, I can use that time to do it myself. Round 3, I happen to catch a technician fertilizing I believe, do not know since they did not call as stated and i requested so I can pout my dog in the house; the big issue here is they ran across the yard so fast, there is no product on the ground; this was a granular application it it looks like it was put on with a BB gun, there is almost nothing on the ground, very disappointing. Round 4, I called weedman and asked for a manager, he was not available and would call me back; the phone person discussed my issues, hopefully took notes to pass on and I was told that I would be called back shortly. Hours have gone by, I have called back a couple of times and can not get anyone on the phone. Now the day is over and its Friday, likely not going to hear anything until Monday. This is not professional nor quality in my experience. I was solicited and was hesitant to agree to the service, very disappointed.

I had just as many weeds after they treated than before. I called for a 2nd treatment and and still no results. I tried to contact them after that but they would not take my calls or return them. Negative

I believe in pretty yards! I had always thought that it would be too expensive to have a lawn service help with my yard. With having an acre yard I needed help! I do all the mowing myself but needed the crabgrass and weeds gone. I checked into Weed Man. Got a quote from them, and added up how much it would cost me, to go buy the product and the time it would take me to apply, it was less expensive for me to have them do all applications. Not to mention trying to find the time to apply product! I am excited to say it is the best money I have spent!! I have been using them for three years now and every year my yard is filling in and looks amazing! I save even more money when I prepay for the next years service in December! LOL - They gave me a quote for aerating and over seeding my large yard. Called me the same day and said they would put me on the schedule and call me back. It has been three weeks today with no return phone call. I even messaged them on their web site and no responce. Thank goodness I didnt use their prepaid services. Looking for a dependable lawn service now.

Timely and tailored care!

I had front yard aerated and seeded area is less than 1000 square feet Weed Man says its 3700 ft. They say that use 40 lb of seed I questioned that bad experience with this company. However they did offer to come back out area was to muddy from watering so I decline just paid what I owe dont think Ill use this company again.

Started out as a great service for a competitive price, but over the years customer service declined to the point they even suggested I try another service.

It s unfortunate that I have to put this review as we won a free year for yard maintenance. This said, tonight at 7:30pm I received a call from a sales rep asking about my discontinued service and to see what They can do to get me back. I asked the rep why are you calling me so late about my yard? I mean seriously who does that? The rep then continues to say this is what my boss wants us to do. That just blows my mind weedman. You re already paying them low enough and to ask them to make these late night calls? Idk what data you re using to show calling that late works

2021 was my first time using Weed Man. For the most part they provided decent service throughout the year, but as the year progressed, customer service declined. Trying to schedule a service to coincide with re-seeding in September was ineffective and I feel like I lost 3 weeks of time. Later in December I had concerns about the winter application and left a message in their portal, to which they they never responded to. I then followed up with a phone call 10 days later and was promised a call back by a supervisor, and that never happened either. I know Covid has had an impact on everyone, but that doesnt mean customers dont need to be responded to.

3 years ago we were customers and had a fantastic experience. We moved and canceled our service and started it up last year. 1st application they treated my neighbors house across the street, they came back and treated my next door neighbor, 3rd time is a charm and they finally realized houses have house numbers and they treated my yard. By mid summer my lawn from about 20 feet away from my foundation looked great, from 20 feet out it was a mess of weeds. I found out why when my 17 year old called me and said he saw the Weed Man employee only treat around our house and not the entire yard, which we were paying for. I called them multiple times and they promised to retreat within 24 hours, but they never showed up. So I cancelled their service and now have to deal with phone calls from them every 2 weeks. Horrible company, horrible customer service!!!!

I dont know anything about maintaining a yard beyond mowing, so when my wife and moved into our new house I had Weed Man come out and tell me what they thought about the yard. They came up with a plan that was affordable and weve been very happy with the service. Id recommend them to anyone.

Do not get used like i did. This is a bait and catch company. Q young man came to my door at my home asking me if I want pest control obviously and told me a price at that second I declined and tried to go inside. The guy then goes hold on man look im here to help you i can do even better i can do the 7 times at 50 a time total would be 350 and if i signed up today he could take 100 off and do it all for 250. I asked him very specifically if the spray they use harms grass seed as i just paid 300 to have that done, he swore up and down to me that it would not that they use all organic pesticide from some type of plants and in no way would it harm my grass seed. I accepted and went on my day. The 1st day they came out i was leaving for work and weed man is packing up about to leave actually a very nice guy comes up to me to tell me what all he did and I mentioned that I was so glad t hey use organic pesticide and it wouldnt harm the grass seed i just put down and he goes where did you hear that and when i told him his jaw dropped and told me the truth that its not at all organic and I just wasted all that money bc it kills grass seed instantly. I was livid and asked them to have there boss please get ahold of me. I never got a call so I called and was upset explaining what they had just done and that I would no longer need there services. About 2 weeks later here they are doing it again after I just re seeded .y yard and did it again. This time I get a call from the owner and he explained he was going to get to the bottom of it find out who did this and would get back with me on Monday and I respectfully said okay but this time please actually do call me. I never reviewed a call or text like i told him he could do as well because I found out not only had they killed my grass they also were charging me 100 per time instead of the little over 35 we agreed to . So here we are ive spent over 500 on grass seed however much they charged me to kill it total and have now sent another 100 dollars to a collection agency so Im guessing they came out again after the 3rd time of me asking them not to. So to conclusion if your going to use weed man you are definitely getting lied to you will experience terrible customer service even at the top people who own it you will pay way more than you sign up for. Thank you for costing me 1000 dollars have a great day yall.

Ive contacted Weed man three times (once per week) for three weeks for them to give me a quote. Each time, no response. Its ironic because the first guy I talked to mentioned how close my house was to where they are so it wouldnt take long for them to look at my yard. If they are this nonresponsive for prospective customers, I cant imagine how bad they are once you hire them.

Weed man was at my house when he said he would be . He did a great job . I was very satisfied !

Asked them that I would use it as trial basis and would see how it works. If I am not satisfied with the service then I would not use. They signed up the service and charged me the money without my knowledge. This is rediculous so be careful when using their service.

Misleading. Make sure you understand what they are going to treat. You will have to treat current weeds yourself. What I was told at the time of set up varies greatly from what I was just told on the phone by their rep. AFTER they came out. Im heading to the hardware store for WeedB Gone. UPDATE...Weed man has gone out of their way to address my concerns. I have to say my yard looks SO much better. A couple walking down the street even told me that I have a beautiful lawn. Im changing my rating to 5 stars for the customer service I have received and the great improvement in the yard.

They always let you know what theyre doing and when its to happen. Very informative.

They care about the lawns of their customers. Sometimes they have challenges but are willing to work through it.

We have been using the Weed Man for 10 years and at 2 houses. Our yard looks great, and the staff members are always friendly and helpful. We had used a few other metro companies prior to finding Weed Man, and the prices were much higher with the competition.

My first experience with Weed Man was having a couple of techs come by to service my yard. When they arrived they started asking about aspects of my yard I hadnt even considered. They took the time to walk with me and talk about what would grow the best in different areas of the property. Together we made a plan that fit the space and the look I was looking for. Really happy with the staff and the progress of the yard!

UPDATE: #2 - 3 weeks later - STILL NO contact from Weed Man as promised by Patti. They did, however, remember to send me an email today offering their aeration service and they text me when they are coming. Either of those means would work to reach me and at the very least you have my address. UPDATE: 1 week later -- still no contact from Patti at Weed Man as promised in their response. Don t waste your money. I have had 5 treatments and still lots of weeds. I ve even had them back out to re-treat. :( I have called and asked for a manager to call me back 4 separate times...no return call. :( Each time a salesperson called to sell bug control, grub treatment etc I would ask for a return call. No call. :( I asked for a consultation the day of the first treatment so I would know when to water, how long to leave the grass when mowing etc. Nope, no consultation. :( I asked if my flower beds would be treated...yes! Were they? No. :( I paid for the season up front to get a discount which was my bad b/c there is no incentive to make it right. And yes, I watered daily except during the torrential downpours we have had. Feel free to ask my neighbors or check my water bill. Terrible experience.

My wife and I love this company

First time they came to fertilize they went to the wrong house. We had proof that they werent there because of surveillance cameras. They gave me the run around for a couple days and eventually got it resolved. We were then satisfied with the next 3 applications. We hired them to aerate and seed after they relentlessly called us. I was quoted $343 to do the whole yard, front and back. They came to do the yard and left huge clumps and chunks of dirt all over the yard. Its truly a mess. The seeding is a joke as there are several places with an abundance of seed and others with hardly any. They left without doing the backyard. My online acct showed that the upcoming service for aerate and seed was $343. I even have a screen shot to prove it. When I questioned why they didnt do the back they said I only agreed to front and sides. Because I wasnt home at the time of the service, I sent my mom over to oversee it. She told the guys doing it that it was an absolute mess, but they didnt really seem to care. She even called to speak with a manager and again was given the run around. The women answering the phones need training in customer service, they told us theyd be in contact to send out a manager...but all weve heard are crickets. I cant wait until this company is in my past.

We have a notoriously difficult lawn with two 25 year old maples sucking the life from everything. Weedman is the only company who has taken this into account and the lawn has done very well under their care.

We have loved our experience with Weed Man. We have used them for over 10 years and our yard looks beautiful. They are quick to respond and have excellent customer service. Highly recommend

5 stars isnt enough but that is all they gave me. Craig is great to work with. Very professional and very courteous. Always willing to listen and help where he can. No one has ever done all they said they would do---These folks do it and then some and at a very reasonable price.
