Schendel Lawn & Landscape in Lawrence

Thanks to Schendel for the help with the foot of snow on our parking lot! 2025 starting off with some crazy snow!!

The employees are all very professional and courteous from the time you call the office till the work gets done. I have nothing but good things to say about the work they did for me.

Armando did a great job. He stated that after the fixes, the water meter was not turning any longer when system shut off. That is what I needed to hear. Thank you!

Appreciated Schendel's help with my overseeding this week. Scheduling to actual service went very well.

One call and had four gentlemen out within a couple hours to clean up downed branches from a windstorm! Awesome work!

This is a review of my neighbors Schendel Lawn & Landscape services. The lawn care "professional" that did work for my neighbor used my driveway and my front yard to access the neighbors yard with their equipment. Just be aware that if you hire this company their employees probably won't have any respect other neighbors adjacent property if there is any kind of access inconvenience to the actual customers own yard, driveway, mulch. Like I'm suppose to give a care about your client, my neighbors mulch? It's not my problem! If I mulch my yard along the driveway will you stay out of my driveway, mulch, yard in order to try and access theirs? I put a lot of my own time and money into maintaining my own yard, I don't hire so called "professionals" to come disrespect other neighbors property. But maybe I should.

Schendel Lawn and Landscape recently moved their Lawrence, KS business operations to a property next to ours. They have proven to be a bad neighbor. They take the refuse from their business and dump it on the property. Then once it's accumulated into a very large pile, they burn it. This is of course terrible to live next to, and it is illegal according to the Official county code of Douglas County which states in Chapter 6 Fire Safety 6-102 that, "a) Agricultural open burning. The open burning of vegetation such as grass, woody species, crop residue, and other dry plant growth for the purpose of crop, range, pasture, wildlife or watershed management (this includes the burning of routine brush piles accumulated from the property);provided, however, brush, limbs, and OTHER MATERIALS BROUGHT FROM OFFSITE SHALL NOT BE BURNED." I have spoken to the owner of the property, and at first he said it was a one time thing, but when it happened again, I again spoke to him, and he basically said that he doesn't care, and that I should get used to it. He also suggested that I move. I had the Wakarusa Township Fire Chief come out and he agreed it is illegal burning, but he said that there is a gray area when it comes to enforcement. I'm still working on it, but in the meantime, please do not use this company. Whatever they take off your property goes to the property next to us, and is eventually burned, and ends up in the lungs of myself, my wife, our children, and our neighbors.
