We had beautiful green lush grass until this company took over Greener Futures. This is what our lawn now looks like after paying $50 per month. The supervisor came out for an assessment and this is what our lawn looks like now. Added a photo to show how great the yard used to look. Weeds everywhere and our grass is half dead on our entire lawn. If you want to keep your lawn nice, don't hire this company.
They are as helpful as anyone could ask. Always willing to help, give advice, and actually do the job. (I have seen other companies do just a hit and miss and put down the sign and put up the bill) I am extremely happy with all they have done and offer to do to get our grass back to where it should be. They really seem to care about our lawn's health and informing us what to do and not to do. Very happy.
Unable to give a rating as not sure the service completed. Saw him spreading fertilizer and he greeted me, but did not inquire if I had concerns or questions. I do know that two of my neighbors (that I had recommended Greener Futures (now Barefoot Grass) expressed dissatisfaction with the service and may cancel lawn treatment service.
Unfortunately, we just “fired” this company. We were customers of Greener Futures before Barefoot took over. What was once a beautiful lawn has turned into weeds and dead patches. We gave it one-two months for them to turn it around. We called twice for additional treatments, and when the last tech came out he told us our lawn was “sun damaged”. You can’t make this stuff up. Best thing was that when I called them to terminate our service, the gentleman on the phone never asked why and didn’t seem to care at all that he was losing customers. At least I didn’t feel bad for taking my business elsewhere after that. Edited to add: if you still aren’t convinced, you can look them up on Yelp to see more of their “work”.
i would not recommend. I originally used APL to treat my lawn. It was beautiful! I had an issue with some areas of crab grass. Otherwise, the grass looked great! After APL merged with Barefoot Grass, my lawn started to look bad and has become progressively worse. The photos show what it looks like today. Large areas taken over by weeds and dead spots throughout. Disappointing. I reported this to Barefoot. They assured me they would send someone out right away. The tech that came out left a note stating “I was here about a month ago. Those areas were dead then and this is the damage you are seeing.” Yes, I am aware. This has all happened after Barefoot took over. There were no options suggested for improvement.
I have taken great care of my yard and turned it to a tropical oasis originally hired APL to handle pest control and weed control. I have zoysia grass that is sensitive to some of these chemicals if not properly applied. The operator of APL knew that and took great care not to burn my sod. APL eventually merged with barefoot grass that has turned the beautiful grass that I once had into one filled with various different weed as zoysia is slow to recover and it is even more difficult during a drought. I notified the customer service on May 3 after my last treatment in the end of April of the effects, and this was around the time of another merger. I attempted to email the photos of the results, but the files were too large and my email couldn’t send, so I was provided a cell phone number which I did send those photos to and I was assured that somebody would be at my house that following Tuesday, so I took off of work. Late in the day, I called and was told that somebody couldn’t be out that day and I would be notified when somebody could. Which never happened. I’ve been reached out by the company assessing my satisfaction and trying to sell me more products. I’m currently not inclined to pay my existing balance due to the cost of my taking off of work And the potential of having to re-sod areas of my yard or slowly pull all the weeds that have now infiltrated my lawn now. They did send somebody out 40 days later who left a note saying that my yard was just heat stressed Even though I specifically asked to be here. I was assured me that they would get A specialist out here when I didn’t agree with his assessment. I graduated from a vocational program with a level five certification and nursery operation and landscape management so I am fairly knowledgeable although I have been working as an army medic for 17 years. I still haven’t heard from them in a week and will be paying my existing balance, firing them, and seeking whatever action needs to be taken to get my yard replaced or fixed via the Better Business Bureau or the courts if need be. This is no longer a small company that has Knowledgeable and specialized employees that care about customer service. I would recommend taking your business elsewhere.
I conferred with Paris before he started his service and he listened to my concerns and proceeded accordingly. I m confident Paris did what was necessary to get my lawn looking better.

One star is more than Barefoot Grass deserves. Our acre of lawns and gardens has been absolutely gorgeous for over 25 years. During that time it was cared for by APL. Unfortunately APL was purchased by Barefoot Grass recently. After the treatment this last month our beautiful lawn is almost completely destroyed. It looks like it was burned with napalm. It is a heartbreaking disaster and we have no idea how or if it will ever recover from this chemical poisoning.

Looks like the yard got good spray treatment . The technician did not speak to me before spray start. I had to run through house and shut pet door . The side gate was left open when he left luckily my dogs were locked in the house and I discovered gate open and closed it before dogs could leave my property

I was losing my lawn overrun with weeds and dead patches all over when Barefoot took over. They analyzed my lawn, treated it for chinch bugs ,nut sedge and other varieties of weeds, also a glandular fertilizer etc. In between scheduled treatments they did complimentary service calls to treat specific areas at my request.After only 3 months of service my lawn has come back and I m very satisfied with the results and with their tech Joe G who is very dedicated in his work and does a very through job.

Barefoot Grass is great at caring for Florida lawns. We had concerns about crab grass and bare spots, so Dean gave us information about combating both naturally with the help of proper watering of the St. Augustine grass. We ll now make a few adjustments to the sprinkler heads.

We once had the nicest lawns in the neighborhood, but now our lawn looks terrible. We have been a customer, since well before the name change. We complained, so they came out and said lack of water. Clearly not true. We stated we were treated for chinch bugs. We were asked what makes you think that? Uummm...the tech wrote treated for chinch bugs. This should have been treated on the last service, since they were clearly present. They ate the yard up so quickly, but they would not take responsibility. Oh, and they charged us for that service and then came out for shrubs treatment after we cancelled. They have my credit card on file, so I will have to call my credit card company now. So disappointed in their customer service.
I believe this company has now scammed me twice. They said they re at my house. They were not. They were supposed to do two different services obviously they didn t because they didn t even show up to my house. They charged me once and I don t think I owed them and now they re trying to charge me again for a service they did not do. Stay away is my recommendation

I am on my 4th+ year with Barefoot and have always had a perfect lawn with the treatments they do. I noticed some browning recently (as I have in the neighborhood as well) and Barefoot came out to help me figure out what was going on. They not only found out that we had army worm, but he also went into great detail of them, how to identify them, and the reason why we have them now. They showed great concern over the infestation we had and quickly went to work treating them and letting me know that they would be gone quickly and be back to perfect lawn again! Thank you so much Barefootgrass for not only educating me, but also putting us on the road to getting back to a healthy yard!

Avoid this company at all costs. I am yet another disgusted customer of APL that merged with this disreputable barefoot grass company (yep, intentional lower case name reserved for garbage). Disturbingly similar to other reviews which I can only assume is a pattern, they attempted to withdraw a payment out of my bank account twice yesterday without my permission. Luckily I keep that particular account very low for instances such as this. Now, Im pretty certain theyre going to rebut this review (again, patterns) trying to make it appear I checked the autopay button and Im such a ding dong I dont remember. I can assure you this is not the case. Theyll also claim they dont have access to my payment method so I mustve made the payment myself. Again, definitely not the case. I pay everything online and I dont have autopay set up on any accounts, ever. You know what they do have access to? That autopay button. This is commonly referred to as fraud and I will be filing a police report today and reporting to the BBB so there is a record of it. As if all the above werent enough for you to avoid this company, gentle reader, I have also had several very irritating scheduling issues, mysterious lawn dead patches that come and go and an overall attitude of unprofessionalism when communicating with them that life is simply too short to tolerate. We will be taking our business elsewhere.

Have been having scheduling and billing issues with Barefoot Grass since they merged with our previous vendor. My wife, Ellyn insists we continue working with them as transition takes time. We were double billed last month and had to call them, but we were credited. We d like to move forward and keep working with Barefoot Grass yet have these transitional problems end without further incident, extra calling effort and billing resolution problems. Our lawn looks great, but we d appreciate a step up in customer service. Please contact us to get today s service completed for what we were charged. At this point, would still recommend. Caleb is easy to work with and has helped us to resolve these problems.
I have trying since May 9 2024 to get barefoot grass to stop treating my lawn. We were with APL an was very happy. Not so with this company. This is a very unorganized place and would noy recommend barefoot grass to anyone.

The lawn spraying service I had been using for years merged with Barefoot Grass toward the end of the 2023. I was on a 6 visit annual service but in early 2024, Barefoot treated in January and March as normal but in April they emailed to tell me they were coming. I called them and they said I was on a 9 visit program. So they switched me from 6 to 9 without telling me. I told them to change it back to 6. They treated in May and then came again in June without warning and treated the lawn. I called again and the same person told me I was on the 9 visit plan and said He never spoke to me before (I have it in my notes that he was the one I spoke with). I told him to change it to 6. He asked what my lawn looked like and I said it was fine. He asked So why do you need to change it? He was VERY condescending. I told him that the lawned looked fine on a 6 visit program and to change it back. The next day, I noticed that they charged the treatment fee to my bank account. I never set up autopay on anything but when I saw this and logged into my Barefoot account, it showed autopay was turned on. I called again and talked to the same snowflake. He said they dont have my CC numbers. I told him that they were stored with APL and when they merged they picked them. He said he had to get with his boss as he didnt understand it. I told him to have his boss call me. Later that day, the snowflake called me back, not the boss, and said he was sending me a screenshot to show that the payment was made on the website and not autopay. I asked him when the paperwork thats left on my door printed and he told me each morning before the technician goes out. I told him the paperwork showed that I had already paid for the treatment, that autopay was already turned on, and I didnt do either. I also told him that using autopay without my express consent is illegal. I reminded the snowflake that I had asked for the boss to call me but it didnt matter because I wanted to service cancelled. He very sarcastically laughed and said over this? I said yes and hung up. Avoid this company at all costs!

Work was satisfactory, but when I asked her about pricing and further explanation about invoice it went sideways. She didnt explain to my satisfaction as hourly pricing had changed from original quoting. If you want to have work done and not question anything about pricing youll be OK, but otherwise its a quagmire. I m not going to go around with this company but she had quoted me hourly rates and the invoice came through with hourly rates. So, I ll leave it at that even though she is disputing this.
We have had them come out for the mosquito spray for the past 5-6 months we were skeptical at first but it really works! We noticed a huge difference about a month and a half later. Caleb didnt skimp out on the product he would coat all of our bushes and by the pool, we just had to put our service on hold due to moving soon. When we buy our next house we will definitely be going through them again, they are really nice respectful people and have great pricing. I highly recommend them!
