We were so pleased that their outstanding crew did an excellent job with our landscaping maintenance work. It began with the designer who came to the house to look over the project and make some excellent suggestions for improving the edging and planting a new shrub. All of the work exceeded my expectations by far. The crew was friendly, helpful, professional and best of all, very experienced as evidenced by the high quality level of work down to the smallest detail, clean up! When I have future landscaping work, I will definitely be calling them again.
Brendan Martin did such a great job designing our front gardens. He and the team pulled out all the rocks that we had in the front and replaced them with perennials, trees and mulch. We couldn’t be happier with the results. We have had many neighbors stop by to admire them. We Highly recommend Outdoor Expressions.
This service came out and did spring cleaning and one fertilization on our house. We signed a contract for a full summer maintenance including weeding, pest control, biweekly landscape maintenance, mosquito defense and shrub maintenance and tree care as we have evergreens. they never came to treat the trees and they are now dying, due to this we have been trying to contact them for about a month and a half. the front desk was rude to my husband so I tried reaching out with initial quick response then nothing in reply after. They will no longer respond to my husband at all (and no he was not being rude but he was persistent.) Now it is late in the season and we may not be able to get anyone else to contract with. the two services that were complete were done to a decent degree. the mulch team covered all my new flower shoots so when they came up they were mangled and they rearranged a rock drainage area all wrong so quite a lot of mulch ran off in that area as well. Would not recommend. EDIT I would have changed my review as they called and sent someone out for weeding and spraying same day(although they never did the tree treatment) but I was waiting for followup services since ours was ongoing. We have had one pest control treatment but no other services have been rendered. I would not recommend this company for ongoing services.
We had requested that Outdoor Expression propose a new landscaping plan for our already established yard. Katie and Matt developed a new plan that was creative and upgraded our existing yard. They were very professional, listened well, provided us with new options to choose from. The landscaping work crew they provided were excellent. They worked very hard, checked with us frequently to confirm we were happy with their progress. Matt and Katie responded to all of our questions and concerns. We hired Outdoor Expressions to construct a patio in an unused area of our property. Matt reviewed the area and carefully listened to our needs. He gave us a very competitive quote and was always responsive to our queries. When the work commenced, the crew was very considerate of our property and our guests. We had Outdoor Expressions do a complete makeover of our outdoor space by adding a new paver patio, pergola, trees, plants, mulch and lighting and we absolutely LOVE it! Matt and his team were up front and honest, punctual, always professional and personable as well. You could tell they cared about the end result and our happiness with their service. They were able to capture our vision, turn it into a visual sample for us to review, and then executed it to perfection! After waiting for more than a year for another contractor to give me a bid on replacing the dangerous and unsightly brick steps leading to the front door, I called Outdoor Expressions hoping they could lead me to a company that might help. I was pleased to learn it was a project they could handle and you can see the beautiful results in the photograph. The work was completed within a couple of weeks. Outdoor Expressions has done my Christmas decoration, both interior and exterior, for years. They have also been a huge part of my garden design. It is a company you can trust!

They wont answer the phone. Ive been calling all morning regarding protocol on if they would contact me prior to arrival. I have a service scheduled today with the arrival time range being 8-6 or 9-6 Super frustrating!
They do lawn care at Stonehedge property in East Lansing. They purposely wait until the lawn is super long to mow, leaving huge clumps and tons of grass everywhere. They never trim, or edge or blow. According to the property management they have asked them to blow but they continually leave grass all over the tenants. Doorsteps and its a considerable amount considering they wait weeks in between mowing. As someone who has owned his own lawn care company in the past, you would think they would do a better job at such a huge contracted company such as Stonehedge

I m very happy with the patio design and the landscaping that Katie and the crew implemented. The plants are beautiful and still look good. The grass seed is coming up. A big improvement for my small space.
I really wanted to use this company, but really had a lot of difficulty even getting a quotation from them. After several calls and several weeks, they submitted a quotation which I considered to be unreasonably high. At the time I requested a quotation, they asked what my budget was, so my budget was not an unknown entity. Instead of wasting my time, and their time, they could have just stated from the onset that they could not do it within my budget and all would be well. This is not what I consider professional or courteous behavior.
This company did an amazing job on my property! My lawn is weed free and the greenest on the block . The employees were super nice and helpful with any questions I had. Love that they are a local company as well and they sure do care about the customer! Highly recommend using them!
Dave with Outdoor Expressions is so great ! I receive customized services and he is very responsive. I will never use another company and have been referring all my friends and family!

They came out and did a hardscape project. Im very pleased with the work they did. I liked that they did a follow up inspection to make sure I was satisfied with the end results. I would consider them for projects in the future.

Be Outstanding in Your Neighborhood! When we moved into our neighborhood, our landscaping was mostly hostas and the deer loved them! I interviewed eight (!) prominent landscaping companies, and all but one company had plans full of hosta! Outdoor Expressions Dan Crow proposed plants that have colors in several seasons, variegated foliage, and different textures. Now our home stands out. Neighbors ask the names of the plants. Dan installed plants that are deer resistant that do well in Michigan. The beauty is unparalleled! We also had them build up our window wells and install drainage pipes in our backyard due to flooding. Matt was in charge of that project. We havent had any problems since. This company listens! They are knowledgeable and responsive. Their workers are reliable. I trust and highly recommend Outdoor Expressions.
Enthusiasm expressed by both Dan & Matt when first meeting them was beyond expectation. That continued through the process of discussions about trees, shrubs, perennials and future care. Dans artistic and exceptional designs provided us with a creative garden. Many plantings were unique, unusual or fitting for a homestead from the late 1800s. We have greatly valued their crews attention to detail following winter clean-up and fall preparation for the winter months! John & Betty, after nearly 15 years, still consider the gardens very special!
Honest and knowledgeable recommendation on our retaining wall, fair price and good solid work. Since then I have hired them to do all my summer maintenance for the beds around the house, trimming and fall clean up.

I am very impressed with the quality and efficiency of service I have received from Outdoor Expressions. The crews have worked hard and skillfully to renovate garden areas that were overgrown. They answered any questions I would have and gave helpful suggestions for ongoing maintenance. I recently requested an extra service involving the planting of perennials I had bought, and was so pleased to have the help of one of the head staff members, who came over without delay! I have appreciated the friendliness of this group and their interest in creating beautiful landscapes.
The Lawn Mowing service Came later than Expected but they did a good Job edging my driveway, sidewalks and back patio

Dan, Matt and their crew are true professionals. They were timely, followed through on every promise and created a garden that has a Zen-like feel out of an overgrown, chaotic back yard. We now have 2 retaining walls (true stack stone, no mortar), stone steps and beautiful stone patio. We highly recommend them to everyone!

Outdoor Expressions has turned my new house in a cornfield into a beautifully landscaped retreat from the rest of the world. Ive been working with Dan on a multiple year project in which he was given a blank canvas and a list of my favorite plants. With Dans creative eye and his on-site guidance, the talented crew completed the 2016 phase within the quoted amount of time and budget. Follow-up calls and visits from Dan moved us into the 2017 phase. I am looking forward to working with Dan as he continues to turn my outdoor living areas into beautiful spaces in 2018. I could not be more pleased with the outcome of our landscaping project. From the expert design work, to the responsiveness of sraff, to final installation...excellence! I engaged Dan and his team for assistance with the complete overhaul of out front yard in the spring. They stuck with me as I changed my mind and delayed installation (multiple times) throughout the summer and the end result far surpasses my expectations. At one point I finally asked Dan if I could just trust him to come up with what would work well (given my preferences of style and plant material)...and I did, and the result is perfect!
I have a beautiful front and back yard thanks to Outdoor Expressions. People drive buy and stop all the time. I live in a modest neighborhood and yet have great curb appeal! We just completed our second hardscape renovation with Outdoor Expressions. The first is a spectacular limestone and inlaid granite patio featured on their website gallery. We wanted a smaller pavement installed this year, and once again contacted Matt and his talented crews. As before, spectacular outcome, complements the earlier work beautifully, and done in a timely professional fashion. Outdoor Expressions will be back in the spring to give our patio a facelift for the coming season. Their work is not the least expensive, but the quality is by far worth the cost!
If you are looking for a creative landscaping company, Outdoor Expressions is the company to use. Dan is amazing to work with. He is very hands on and the great thing about him is that he actually listens to what you want. He is more than a landscaper - he is an artist. And it seems like no project is too big or too small. Not only is Dan delightful to work with but his crew of installers and other staff are awesome. We have had Outdoor Expressions do two installations for us and they are definitely our go to company for all things landscaping.
