When I hired MC Landscaping I told the supervisor of my number one issue was to cut my grass long after supervised the Gardner s for three times and kept grass looking good, came home today with my yards butchered, called to complain and no answer never do answer!!!

The entire crew worked to make our landscape design happen. They took out all the old grass and hedges and installed a low stucco wall, round paver patio, all underground irrigation and water-wise plants. We love our new outdoor space and are really enjoying it!

Louis has been trimming my trees for many years and Im always amazingly happy with his work. He shows up on time, performs his work in a very professional manner and cleans up nicely. He is super nice and easy to work with. He deserves a 10 star! I would highly recommend working with him! Plus...he is fully licensed and insured...doesnt get much better than that!

Marcus and his team came in as the low bid on a large frontage project for Alamitos Bay Yacht Club. The project dealt with root clean up from 60 year old ficus trees, soil removal, grading, planting over 100 drought tolerant plants, installing a drip system and mulch. They did an excellent job with minimal on site input. I ma very pleased overall!

Do not work with this company! -The company has no issues charging you in advance for services that they do not perform and will not provide exact dates for, allowing them to change the schedule on a whim without repercussions. - In order to ensure services are being consistently performed, it is on the owner to follow up repeatedly to make sure that that work is being done or the money is being refunded when it is not. - There is system is either faulty, poorly managed or both. They have no issues making promises, continuously breaking them and then gaslighting you into thinking they are performing the services and taking your money. - I am still trying to wrap my head around giving a company a final chance to perform work that they have A. Already charged me for B. Admitted that they didnt do and C. Adamantly promise they will perform the next day and (either out of spit or incompetence) still cannot follow through with it. I am truly at a loss.

Our backyard needed a lot of TLC, Marcus s crew cleaned up a ton of weeds, trimmed our trees, pulled down a huge chunk of vines off our garage, and left everything looking so much neater. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for yard care!

Happy is not the word. My front and backyard looked just like the design that the company and I came up with. Its such a relief to get exactly what you paid for. I am so happy and grateful for my results. The team was very professional and was prompt with returning calls.

MC Landscaping did an AWESOME job on our front yard landscaping. They completely transformed the look of our home. They fixed our sprinklers, got the grass going again, added some gorgeous plants in the front, added mulch, added some elegant lighting, and much more. We reached out to MC Landscaping because in addition to wanting to turn our front lawn into a drought-tolerant landscape, we wanted someone who could assist with a drainage issue. After discussing what we wanted and getting a quote, we decided to work with MC from start to finish: They designed our landscaping project, removed our old grass, installed new landscaping, and fixed our drainage problem. We were very happy working with Rick and Amber during the beginning and design phases, as well as with Leo and his crew (Edgar, Pablo, and Otoniel) for the landscaping work and drainage repair. Everyone was communicative and friendly to work with. Both projects were managed well and they were able to finish the work promptly. The end result is just beautiful, and we have received a lot of compliments on our new front garden. We are participating in the Lawn-to-garden program, so we ve had to switch out some of the plants to make sure that they were actually California native, but we ve had an easy time making changes to make sure we are getting what we want. We will be working with them to maintain our garden to take care of our investment, and we look forward to continuing the relationship.

Over the last year, we have had many projects and upgrades done to our home by many contractors in various specialties. Therefore, when we hired MC Landscape to install our landscaping, we had similar expectations that we wanted to be met. These expectations were not unreasonable, but I would say MC Landscape fell far below the bar in multiple areas of performance: Communication: I dont think Ive met a collective of people any worse at communicating than staff at MC Landscape. We had multiple issues here. First, our project was delayed, but never communicated to us. We were anticipating the original start date and both made ourselves available outside of work to accommodate the team. After calling the company, a very disorganized office member, unable to figure out what was happening, failed to call me back after promising a speedy response. We understand construction delays happen, but one aspect of good service is communicating and not leaving the burden on the customer to chase the company for updates. This was common stance with one office member in particular and what was interesting to me was that there was always an excuse as to why she could not follow up with our questions. This attitude of excuse making, not taking accountability, communicating incorrect information, and also throwing other team members under the bus seemed to be the norm with staff at this company. Perhaps a crash course in professionalism is in order. Leading up to the project was a mess, but we were hoping that once we got past the initial hurdles, the project itself would go smoothly (we were naive). The project manager was completely absent from our 8 day project (aside from day 1 for 15 minute initial introduction and day 8 to collect payment). Because of this, the crew ended up asking us for guidance, which interrupted us from work and meetings. They deviated from the design plans a few times and because of this, wasted so much unnecessary time. I dont blame the crew one bit- they were fantastic and doing their best. I blame the project manager for not being present to guide the team and to take the lead on unforeseen circumstances- like the damage to our main water line during the tilling process. Instead, he was really difficult to get a hold of and for some reason was not scheduled on some of the days of our project. When he was reachable, he was confused and mixing up details from other projects with ours. The final straw for me was how he installed plants that were not a part of the original design due to carelessness. Perhaps he thought we wouldnt notice, or maybe the original plants were unavailable, which is fine- just communicate that to the customer. As a result, I found myself having to rely on the landscape designer to essentially do the project managers job. Amber, the landscape designer, is the only professional I interacted with at MC Landscape. If I were to make a suggestion to anyone interested in booking MC Landscape, it would be just to have her create your design ($950 design fee) and take those designs to be implemented for a fraction of the cost elsewhere. There is no need to pay the luxury landscaping prices MC Landscape charges ($10 a square foot) for the return you get. The end result is visually appealing, but the headaches involved dealing with this company is not worth the extra premium you pay. Its too early to tell how well our new landscaping will fair, but after the bad experience I had at all stages of the project, I have little to no faith in the workmanship.

We used MC Landscaping for the first time for cleanup/clearing service on our newly purchased home. The dry-scape landscaping and citrus trees were completely overgrown and looked like a jungle. MC Landscaping sent out Rick Cerda to our house, and together we went through what needed to be done. He was very knowledgeable about all the plants, and even pointed out one that was poisonous and recommended removing completely. Invoices/quotes were all sent by email in timely manner. Leo Rodriguez was project manager, and met me on day of project to assure all details were communicated. They did a fantastic job! Everything looks wonderful now, you can see all individual plants, and everything looks neat. We will be using them for our maintenance service as well!

I interviewed a few companies before I chose MC and I have no doubt I chose the right company. I had them completely rebuild my front and back yard from what was an overgrown mess in the back and a confusingly awful design in the front to a beautiful space in both with a constant theme and feel that embodies peace, restfulness, and calm bringing in themes of the nearby ocean and tropical vibes. Perfect! In the beginning, Amber was able to describe what I envisioned and suggest changes that made more sense for the space. I could see her mind moving with thoughts and ideas. She remained engaged throughout the project as questions and modifications arose. I had the team working in my yard all day, yet they remained respectful of my privacy and needs, always in tune to my schedule. My neighbors would tell me theyd never seen a team work so hard. They are protective of me and one said he wanted to make sure I wasnt paying for workers to sit around, and they never sit at all! he said. Everyone that walks by as I sit out front enjoying my new space compliments the work and tells me what an improvement it is. I have kept the MC sign in my yard and see people writing the number down or they ask me for the contact. Thats how you know they did good work! The price was right for two small yards, but two small yards that needed completely gutting and a complicated design with curving paver paths, water features, and plant design. Not to mention the demo of the old yard I hope to forget about soon. I want to personally thank Lino, Arturo, Pedro, Otoniel, Pablo, Edgar, Servando, and José. Leo and Amber as well. The team was responsive, thorough, detail oriented, professional, kind, and talented. I highly recommend them to anyone. There wasnt a task they couldnt handle, and handle well.

McLandscaping was great to work with. Amber was such a pleasure to work with, in designing our HUGE backyard. Lino who was in charge of on the job site, was so respectful, was always attentive if I had any concerns or questions. His entire team was respectful as well. If I had another project done, I would request Lino again. Leo, the project manager was so great to work with. His communication with of our concerns were addressed & solved in a prompt matter. Feedback I would provide would be communication on the start date. We received a call the morning of, that they wanted to start! We had sheds & some clearing that we needed to do before that. So better communication on the EXACT day & time of the start date, at least a week in advance. Glad it is done & so happy with our yard.

I used MC Landscaping to do extensive clean up and install grass in my backyard and redo the front yard with drought tolerant landscaping. They also handle the ongoing maintenance. The crews do great work and are always professional. For the install work they always cleaned up at the end of the day and made sure everything was completed satisfactorily before leaving. They were willing to adapt to changes I had, explained the setup and irrigation system and answered my questions on the various plants. The regular maintenance guys are great. I started with Anthony as the lead who was always willing to walk the yard and discuss any questions/concerns. And took great care of my palm trees. Hes now the maintenance manager and has done a great job of keeping me updated on work scheduling and additional projects (a little sad to lose him from the crew but happy for his promotion).

Not what it plays to be.. Unfortunately what started as a great land care company, ended terribly due to lack of professionalism and communication. I was happy to help a local business but the miscommunication and constant excuse of Its in the contract for missed services was unacceptable. What really did it was for me was the rudeness of the customer service rep and disregard for their client. Communication- terrible. Scheduling- acceptable. Customer service- rude, inattentive. Yard work- Good (need to remind them of things that need to be done (EX- my sprinklers never got fixed , although it was in the contract). Ultimately, very unsatisfied and will be moving onto another company.

Marcus is reMARCkable! For some businesses, versatility is a difficult because they specialize in one product. MC Landscaping is truly a landscaping specialist. Marcus, having a horticulture degree, has vast knowledge when it comes to plants and landscaping. When COVID-19 hit, he could continue maintenance and design service, but he expanded his business to plant delivery. MC Landscaping has a nursery in Lakewood which contains a ton of plants and vegetables! He delivered kale, tomatoes, eggplants, etc. to my family and coached us on how to plant them to maximize growth. He was extremely respectable; asking if we would prefer if he wore a mask, could he wear shoes into the home, etc. There arent a lot of people who actually majored in their business but he is one of them. Marcus is amazing.

I have hired Marcuss team at MC Landscaping for multiple projects - doing full backyard renovation with mature fruit trees to rebuilding irrigation and flower beds to turf installation for our new home. I recently had my edible garden delivered by MC Landscaping and I am thrilled! Marcus helped me with the layout of my garden as well by advising on the amount of space each plant would need and the types of containers they thrive in. Ive received so many compliments on it and I love being able to recommend their services. If you dont already have a place for your edible garden, they can build you one too!

We usually go to our local nursery and install our own vegetable garden. This year because of Covid-19 we had to find an alternative. We reached out to MC Landscaping and received a very prompt response. Sherry and Marcus were awesome! Marcus was able to make recommendations that allowed us to diversify our garden and we intend to reach out to him late summer or fall to maximize our yield through the winter months. We decided to have them install our garden and we were able to schedule the installation within days. We were in need of soil and they brought us organic soil and planted all of our garden very quickly. Our garden is thriving and we are very excited to harvest really soon. Their prices are extremely competitive and I highly recommend this nursery before going to a big box store. I can not wait to visit their nursery and see what else I can buy for my garden. How RUDE!!!!!! We got a flyer on our front door recently, advertising MC Landscaping (Javier) services....the flyer said they ...do anything & everything...Free Estimates! My husband just called them & spoke to Javier. Told him we have a small pile of wood branches as well as a small (dead) bush that we need removed....he said all jobs are a minimum of $250 to start. Told him we are Seniors on a fixed income & wouldnt be able to pay that much. My husband proceeded to ask him if he knew a local handyman that would do the job for less....Javier said something inaudible and abruptly HUNG UP on him!! That was RUDE & UNCALLED FOR! Thats NOT the way to treat Senior citizens!! I didnt even want to give one , but had to so I could write a Review. VERY POOR Customer Service!!
