RYCO Landscaping in Lake in the Hills

We've been using Ryco for a a couple years now. Their work on our facility is excellent. We know that we can count on them on a weekly basis to take care of our landscaping. They also help with our snow removal and it's reassuring to know that our lots are constantly clean so we can continue to operate our business without interruptions. We highly recommend Ryco Landscaping to all commercial locations that want peace of mind.

Had work done for a patio, concrete work excellent, post landscaping very poor. Lawn not smoothed properly or sloped for drainage with hills mounds. Repaired ared not raked out, very rough and not blended to existing grade. Reached out for correction and no response. Expected better for the price paid.

Experience was terrible from the get go. I called for a quote for tree trimming services. On the day of appointment, the individual was 30 minutes late. I called the company and the sales specialist said she forgot about the scheduled appointment. From there, It took 3 weeks for an estimate. In that time, I had another company come out, perform the job plus more than what was outlined in their estimate, and paid less. I’m disappointed in communication and response time of this company. I would not recommend this company.

If I could give zero stars I would. They have no idea what they are doing are will come and mow the grass when it’s pouring outside and leave track marks everywhere. They will tear up flowers or plants, absolutely terrible.

Zero stars. Stay away from them. They have no clue about Landscape Design. The designer never visits the property. If you want a basic tree and a walkway, sure, use them. Anything more, run away. They don't listen to what you want. Colin talks a great game, but doesn't listen to you. Alot of talking ryco does but no action. It also took several months to get estimates for window well, walkway, and other items. In they end, they were way over priced compared to other estimates from other landscapers. $5k for a landscape design, 16 months of working on the high level concept, and it was all useless, it really was. Ryco never disclosed to us that the designer was to never visit our 3 acre property. This is why everything was was wrong. They don't know tree species either, put patio table on a 30 degree sloped back yard. We said no plants around house and tennis court. but Colin insisted that it was the wrong choice and he still put plants around tennis court. Colin also wanted to cut down about fifty, full grown deciduous trees, because in his opinion, they were garbage trees. Our design got so bad that all we asked for was spruces along the perimeter. We figured to simplify the plan for them. That was a disaster. They put a bunch of plants in places where existing trees were located. Those plants never stood a chance. No clue. Ryco refused to refund us our 5k deposit because Colin said they did provide a design. This is true, ryco provided a design. We can't use it, and it's not what we asked for either. It's sad that after 16 months, we couldn't get past high level general concept. We fired ryco. We seeked out 2 other companies. We went with the barn Lansdscape. We provided them the same information in one meeting on the property. 2 weeks later, they provided and nailed the design. They really know their tree species. Night and day. The design was free!

They take very little care of your property. They ruined my lights that lit the walkway. The bulbs were crushed and my wires were cut thay connected them together and just left them in the middle of the walkway without care. They left leaves and trimmings from the rose bushes in the dirt bed for weeks before picking it up. Very disappointed.

I have had an A+ experience working with Ryco for the past decade on many project at many properties. I have chosen them for design, build, maintenance, and overall property advice. They have hit home runs on all our projects and my wife and I could not be happier. They can handle everything from small project to large scale and complexity. You'll be happy you chose Ryco.

We switched to Ryco after having so many other companies let us down. Colin and his crew have truly helped our home become fantastic. I have referred them to everyone I know without them letting me or my friends down. They handled design and maintenance for our home without a hitch.
