10 Stars! Highly Recommend Droughtscape! We couldn't be happier with the experience we had working with Cody, Anthony, and the entire Droughtscape team! They are communicative, forward-thinking, kind, meticulous, and truly masters of their craft. After gathering four quotes from various landscaping companies, Droughtscape's quote stood out--not only for its competitive pricing but also for the comprehensive detail provided for our project. They worked with us to install steps and a swale along the sides of our house to protect our foundation from water runoff. We were so impressed by their attention to detail and quality of work that we added an extra project: a clean-up of the front of our house, including tree removal and laying down pavers. When unexpected wood rot was discovered during the project, Droughtscape handled the situation smoothly and flexibly, helping us adjust plans so we could address this issue without missing a beat. Their willingness to accommodate and make adjustments along the way was invaluable to us. The results are nothing short of impeccable! We're thrilled with how everything turned out and are excited to share the incredible transformation with before-and-after photos. We would absolutely hire Droughtscape again in the future! Thank you for making our home look its best!

I talked to another general contractor about building a retaining wall and a walkway next to the hill before. I was told it was not possible because the hill contains rocks. When I brought this to Cody, he had a better vision: a wall and a spacious patio. Anthony and his team diligently created the open space by jackhammering the rocks, properly graded the area, added additional drainage, and delivered a beautiful job. Both my husband and I were impressed. The drought resistant landscape on my two other hills also looked great. This is a well functioning team who are knowledgeable, hardworking, detail oriented, and easy to work with. I ended up expanding my original scope and hired them for more work. I highly recommend the Droughtscape team.

I hired Droughtscape to completely redo the drainage in my front and back lawns and to replace my grass in front with drought-resistant plants. They also replaced some fencing, rebuilt my fire pit, and installed smart lighting. They did an excellent job! I'm very pleased with how my lawns turned out. I have no landscaping experience, but Cody was communicative and patiently worked with me to come up with a layout for my lawns that I was happy with. Their workers were very courteous, reliable, and fast. I had to make some changes to the specifications as they went, but aside from my changes, they stuck to the budget from their original quote. Their quote wasn't the cheapest quote I could find, but I value quality over affordability, and believe you get what you pay for, so I'm satisfied with the price I paid. Several months after the work, I'm having a couple of issues with grass that keeps popping up in the front and some succulents that are not doing very well. But Droughtscape has told me they will come back to help me with these issues as soon as they have availability, so I'm hopeful to get these issues sorted out soon.

I had an incredible experience working with the Droughtscape team. I bought my house in April and was looking all over town for someone that could redo my front yard and my parkways. They were so timely and helpful, and were willing to work with me on design ideas as well as materials and budget ideas. I will absolutely be going back to them for any other landscaping my house may need!

LANDSCAPE BACKYARD In June, 2024 I decided it was time to give up the idea of turning my backyard into a meadow. I had already landscaped my backyard three times since moving into this house in 1996. But now I was done with high maintenance yards. I knew I didn’t want any grass and as few weeds as possible. But at the same time I wanted lots of color and beautiful flowers. I needed to block out the latest Neighborhood Lot Monster’s view of my yard by planting trees that would grow to at least 25 feet tall on that side of the yard, but I couldn’t have the tree roots interfering with my pool. I started goggling landscapers in my neighborhood, looking for a company with only five star reviews or a good explanation for anything under five stars. Almost immediately I came across Droughtscape and thought “perfect name” for what I was looking for. I carefully read the reviews and then completed an application for a bid. I heard back almost immediately and scheduled an appointment. A young man named Cody showed up on time and prepared. He seemed to know his stuff and we looked over my backyard and I told him what I wanted. He asked me questions, measured everything, and left, assuring me I would shortly have a bid. I got the bid within 48 hours. It was, not surprisingly, more than I wanted to spend, but I think that’s typical of almost any job I’ve ever done around this house. There was a little back and forth about the actual plants I wanted, but ultimately we were able to get the plants I was interested in. The company happened to have an opening about 2 weeks later and I grabbed it. It was when the crew showed up at my house that I started to realize this wasn’t going to be the same old landscaping job. One of the guys there was an expert in sprinklers, Cody was the head landscaper and he too was there. There was another guy who would work on the grading, and two more guys who were there to take out all the grass, weeds, and everything that was going, replacing and grading the soil so any water ran out of the yard and into the street. In addition to all the workers, I was introduced to Anthony who would be supervising the job. For the next 10 consecutive weekdays the crew was here. Generally there were five or six guys in the yard from 7 a.m. to 4 or 4:30; sometimes later into the evening. And these guys worked really hard. Did I mention it was between 85 and 95 degrees every day they were working in my yard? They brought their own drinks, their own food; there was a port-a-potty and a huge trailer for all the dirt, grass, weeds, and everything else they removed from my yard. From the last time I’d landscaped I had thousands of colored river rocks everywhere and I wanted them to remain where they were. But weeds and grass had grown under them, and the crew had to remove all the rocks so they could pull up everything that was in the ground under the rocks, take out a layer of dirt, then put in a layer of healthier soil and rototill the entire yard. Once the soil all looked healthy and there was nothing left but soil, they started laying out the 2'x2' concrete steps so I had a walkway from the beginning of the yard and all around the pool and back to the beginning of the yard. They then put in a concrete slab for lounge chairs. I could go through everything else they did, but suffice it to say, it was a tremendous amount of work and they were completely committed to doing everything the right way and carefully. They measured between every concrete step to get them right so they were all an equal distance apart from the ones next to them. They laid material on the entire yard to keep the weeds from growing. They dug trenches to block the roots of the black bamboo they planted and my pool. And before they did anything that was permanent, they showed me what they were planning on doing and made sure I was happy with it. This is the first time I can say unequivocally that I recommend this team to everyone who wants their landscape to not only look beautiful, but to hold up for many years.

I can't recommend Droughtscape enough. They completely transformed our yard from an overgrown mess into a beautiful, low-maintenance space. They were incredibly prompt. From signing the contract to the crew breaking ground, it took less than a week! And they were finished with the work in only THREE days, which was astounding. The crew itself was fantastic - professional, friendly, and took immense pride in their work. Because of how our townhouse was built, they had to move through our home to get to the backyard, and they took great care to make sure there was no mess and no damage to our property. As you can see, the finished product is amazing. You can tell they use top-notch materials and their craftsmanship is meticulous. They were always happy to answer my questions and kept me informed throughout the process. Droughtscape isn't just another landscaping company; they're a team passionate about creating beautiful, sustainable outdoor spaces. They made the entire experience enjoyable, and I'm thrilled with the results. If you're looking for a company that prioritizes both style and water conservation, Droughtscape is the perfect choice!

The whole Droughtscape team did an amazing job with my project from start to finish. From the design and planning stages with Cody to the actual work up to the finish, everything was top notch, and I highly recommend Droughtscape. In addition to redesigning my yard to replace the grass with stones and an amazing array of cacti and other plants, the fence they built in my backyard is a work of art. They also worked on lighting, irrigation and a lot of little details that I didn't even know I needed. I couldn't have been more impressed with this amazing and professional team and would hire them again without hesitation!

Droughtscape completed my backyard project a week ago and I’m very happy with the results. Cody’s design sense is strong and he transformed a neglected and weedy yard into a serene and beautiful garden. Project management was very smooth with Anthony being in charge – there were at least 3 crewmembers on site every workday and I did not notice any wasted time waiting for materials or other scheduling issues. Head Foreman Miguel’s skills and experience are apparent from the way he can quickly problem solve and accommodate my requests to direct AC & Water Heater discharge into planting areas in a tidy way. I also liked the fact that Cody & Anthony are excellent communicators. The entire project was much bigger and involved more digging and groundworks than I could ever imagine. Expect multiple dumpsters of soil and weeds for the duration of the project as they grade the garden area to channel water away from the house. I spoke to several other landscape contractors and found that Droughtscape’s prices are very fair given the scope and quality of work. They are a great company to work with, I will not hesitate to call them back when I need to work on other areas of the garden.

We had the pleasure of contracting Droughtscape for a small backyard paver, gravel, and terraced retaining wall. We also had them add water lines to new plants and existing planter beds. The whole process was easy and their workers were professional, courteous and diligent. They took extra time to get the job done right.

I applied for the LADWP turf replacement rebate and needed a company to remove the turf and install a rock garden, drought-tolerant plants, and mulch. Contacted a few. One I didnt hear back from, another would take days to get back to me, but Cody at Droughtscape was so responsive. Probably the most responsive contractor Ive ever worked with. He would always get back to me within a few hours. Emails, texts, phone calls -- it was great. They did a wonderful job on the yard -- and they did it fast! They also trenched the front of my property to help drain water away from the concrete walls. And they put some nice plants in my parkway. If you need landscaping work done, call Cody and Anthony.

My husband and I decided that we wanted to replace the grass in our front and back yards with drought tolerant plants. We also had a concrete slab in the backyard that made absolutely no sense and needed to go. We initially contacted Droughtscape based on the information on their website, in particular their stated commitment to quality and reliability. We were also impressed with the overwhelmingly positive customer reviews. After talking with Cody to get his ideas on the space and the budget, we decided to contract with Droughtscape to do the work, which included removal of the grass and concrete, installation of a drip irrigation system, planting of drought tolerant plants, and installation of a pre-fab gazebo. Now that the project is complete, I can unequivocally say that Droughtscape definitely walks the talk and you can believe all of the positive reviews. Cody was able to meet with us within a couple of weeks of our initial contact and the entire project was completed within a month after that. The work itself took about 10 days. Anthony, Miguel, Raul and their production crew were amazing. I couldn t believe how much they accomplished in such a short time. They are all hard-working, personable, reliable and entirely professional. Communication throughout the project was excellent and the end result exceeded our expectations. A couple of final comments. We did not get estimates from any other landscaping companies, but based on the amount and quality of work involved, we feel that what we paid was was more than fair. I felt kinda bad that we decided to add the gazebo, although we really needed it. I didn t get the impression that it was really Droughtscape s thing , although they agreed to assemble and install it. The gazebo really didn t look like it was much fun to assemble, but if the crew was unhappy with us, they never let on. Finally, although Anthony explained the drip irrigation system and showed us how to program the controller, and Cody explained how long it takes for the plants to get established, we are still not entirely comfortable with how to take care of all of the plants. It would be really helpful for Droughtscape to provide some guidance on maintenance, especially when it comes to watering, or perhaps point us toward a resource where we could find additional information. Overall, I can t imagine that we would have had as good an experience with any other company. I highly recommend Droughtscape if you are considering xeriscaping.

We loved working with Droughtscape to remodel our backyard. We had a huge problem with hillside drainage after all the storms, and we had a ton of overgrown trees and shrubs that needed to be cleaned up. Droughtscape leveled our backyard, installed retaining walls and drainage, put in turf grass for our dogs, and planted a bunch of drought tolerant plants. They were extremely professional, prompt and communicative. We re so happy with the finished product!

If you are considering an upgrade or complete yard makeover I would look no further than Droughtscape. My wife and I drew up a simple plan of what we wanted and in just a matter of days Cody gave us a price which we accepted, had a preliminary walk through with his production crew and supervisors, and he gave us a start date all within two weeks of filling out their online questionnaire. We were good to go. From there, our project could have been a model for how construction projects should progress. Miguel and his workers diligently began extensive excavation to remove an existing turf lawn, an existing concrete patio, and other hardscape elements not part of our finished plan. I had no idea how much material required removal in preparation for extensive new DG paths, a pretty large (850 sq. ft.) paver patio, and two very small patches of new turf we installed mostly for our dog. Hundreds of wheelbarrow loads were moved, at least four dumpster loads, many tree roots that were close to the surface, and the old concrete. All the work was done in the extreme heat of July and August by 4-6 workers every day of the week but Sunday. It was brutally hard work but they knocked it out efficiently and without complaint. It also became apparent early on that these men are friends, like and support each other, and simply show up, work hard, and do whatever it takes in any given moment to move the job forward. The work site vibe was very positive every day. For a customer spending a not so insignificant amount of hard earned money, this is a really good thing and much appreciated. The paver work began after a week or so of demolition and it was then I began to realize how very skilled ALL the Droughtscape workers are. This was not their first rodeo. As a retired cabinet and furniture maker I loved watching their meticulous layout, the use of string lines and laser levels everywhere to achieve the proper slope and thickness of the base layer and sand. And then I was extremely pleased to see their attention to detail scribing multiple pavers around our multifaceted patio cover posts. And it wasnt just one guy doing this work. They each had the skills necessary to pull this off. Our new patio is simply staggering. We never imagined it would so completely change the look and feel of our backyard space and dramatically extend our living space. We are ecstatic! After the pavers were set our project required extensive new drainage be installed and connected to our existing lines. Again, this was technical work determining drain locations, pipe slopes, and how to deal with the flawed work done when the house was built in 1968. Im blown away by how many previous problems were mitigated. We have a whole new system for ridding what was a flood prone backyard of water that that previously had no way to escape the property. As a homeowner with steep hillsides this gives me great peace of mind and other than the usual maintenance that drains require I know that Ill never have to think about this again. Not that we have any intention of selling in the near future but we think Droughtscapes work added substantial value to our home far in excess of what this project cost. They did an incredibly thorough job far beyond what I thought a landscape contractor would do and we are VERY grateful. Yes, we may have spent more than we originally budgeted but now that the work is complete we think it was worth every penny. I never could have come close to doing this myself. And there were hundreds of labor hours required to first demolish and then resurrect our yard to where it is today. The best thing we did was choose this company. Last thing, go to their website and read about the company. Its really well done and after getting to know a few employees its very accurate. This is a well established local Southern California business very much worth supporting. They have a ton of experience, a tremendous amount of knowledge and expertise, and work very hard to make it all happen. I guarantee you will not be disappointed!

Knowledgeable crew, quick job, and beautiful results. They also happened to be the most reasonable quote we got. They were generous with time and information, and also very responsive. The only thing that was less than ideal was communication about getting the job started, which felt like I was having to reach out a lot, but it s possibly that my tight schedule and the small size of the job played a role. Regardless, would definitely recommend them to friends!

We recently hired Droughtscape to completely re-do our backyard. Before the project, our backyard was a mess. Too much dying grass, spending a ton on water every day, and oddly paved walkways that always resulted in our kids tripping on the corners. As we were looking for the right landscapers/hardscapers to partner with, we found many offered artificial turf solutions, which we were not a fan of. For us, Droughtscape was a perfect fit for our backyard philosophy: 1. A backyard that fits the current climate of Souther California. Less grass, less water needed. 2. A thoughtful and practical layout that allowed us to have a space we would actually use (dining, lounging, play) Day in and out, I saw the team work unbelievably hard every single day. The entire backyard took about 5-6 weeks, but each day was a hustle for the team. I cant say enough good things about Droughtscape and would definitely recommend them to EVERYONE looking to turn their backyard/frontyard into a practical, climate-friendly oasis.

Could not say enough great things about this company and the services that they provide. I started writing this review last year, but it ended up getting very long. Again, too many great things to be said about them. Finally attempting an abbreviated version now. This company is reliable and very communicative. No one will be left high and dry. The care they provide their clients is excellent. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed having them on our property for a full two months. Every employee in this company takes pride in their work and have such great attitudes. Even with three kids and a dog, we did not run into any issues while the work was going on. My kids loved the team and missed them when the project ended. I miss them too! Our project was on the larger side, and they handled it with such confidence that we felt at ease from the start. Once the project was complete, we hosted many large gatherings. Friends and family all wanted to know who had done the landscaping. Several people asked for their referral information and one friend even started their project soon after. Lastly, you get what you pay for. This could not be more true with Droughtscape. They don t cut corners, so the client has little to nothing to worry about. Our family isn t one to splurge, especially for home related costs, but we have zero regrets about the money well spent here. We will definitely continue sharing their information with others.

The team at Droughtscape (formerly Western Pacific Landscaping) were a dream to work with. I would definitely highly recommend them. We moved into a new house last year, and while we loved everything about it, the backyard was an anxiety-inducing depressing mess. Normally Im a pretty DIY kind of person, but turning something that had been clearly neglected for years into something wed actually enjoy hanging out in was...well, lets say it was definitely time to call in the professionals. The group Droughtscape completely transformed the chaos into a sleek, clean, and modern backyard that we are now THRILLED to spend time in. Droughtscape demo-ed our cracked and worn upper patio and replaced it with custom-designed pavers that they poured on-site. They leveled all of the multiple terraced planting areas with soil -- adding drip irrigation, pebbles, and mulch throughout -- and built a stunning ~60ft ipe wood fence along the side of the property. They also designed and installed a custom built-in bench with the same wood on the lower patio. We opted to do all the planting ourselves, but they were still extremely helpful, and offered their guidance and suggestions for plant ideas and placement, even after their job was already done! I should note too that this was all done in a yard on a VERY severe hill that you have to hike down 3 floors from the street to get to - with only a narrow walkway on the side of the house to haul supplies. These guys even hand-built a wooden chute to be able to shuttle supplies down to the yard more efficiently. Cody, Anthony, Brandon, and Tracy are awesome, and very responsive to after business hours texts/questions/concerns as well. We couldnt be happier with the whole experience -- and cant recommend them enough! Pricing was also totally reasonable, and the work they did was definitely worth every penny and so much (mulch!) more than we had ever imagined.

Cody from Droughtscape came to my place to deliver an estimate on a job Im considering. The booking process was straightforward and simple, and he was on time. Even though my job is likely too small to warrant hiring professional landscapers, Cody walked through my ideas with me, gave plant recommendations and followed-up afterwards via email with tips and pointers. Hes clearly very good at what he does. This was very much appreciated, and extremely helpful. Next time I have a larger project, Ill definitely be using Droughtscape!

An absolute wonderful experience This review is for people, like me, that have never used a professional landscaping company and had no idea what to expect. We have a small 600 sq ft back yard that was blah and water intensive all grass and plants. We wanted something that would look great and where we could eat and entertain. I looked at several DYI videos. These videos made me realize how much work is involved, especially if it is done right. We requested quotes from three highly rated firms. All the quotes were about a $1000 apart. However, the proposed plan from Cody at Droughtscape not only had a larger scope of work but his vision was more creative and appealing to us. The actual work was planned by Anthony with the daily supervision by their crew chief, Miguel. I mention all their names because I cannot say enough about them. Every person that was on our property was professional, experienced, and worked as well-oiled team. Originally, I thought their quote was expensive but inline with their competitors. However, since I work from home, I was able to watch them for the nine days they were at my house. There was never less than three workers and most days there were four (and the first few days I think five or six). After watching them remove six inches of the entire backyard, grade, prep and build the patio, I now feel that I paid a very fair price! I was truly amazed at the amount of work required to do this properly. I have no doubt that this patio will last forever and will withstand any earthquakes tremors that we may get. Plus, I know this will increase the value of my home. My wife and I were so please, we plan on doing the front yard later this year. Thank you Droughtscape! I have posted before and after pictures here. I ll update after we get our new furniture, and our café lights up. The small paver section by the A/C units will be for our new BBQ grill.

Western Pacific Landscaping was very responsive right from the first contact. Cody came out and evaluated my project. Even though it was a small project, he didnt make me feel like it was. He gave me great suggestions and a better picture of what it would look like. He told and showed me the various plants he wanted to use in my planters. They all looked amazing! Anthony came out and did the work. He was professional, friendly and very knowledgeable. He made sure I was happy with how the plants were arranged before he started planting. He also answered all my questions about the plants and the steps he was taking along the way. He even advised about the irrigation. Just thrilled how it all came out. Better than I imagined! Best of all, they were able to work within my budget. I had been saving for sometime for this project and they made it work! THANK YOU! I definitely would recommend them!

They were able to start my project 1.5 weeks after I received my quote. They were fast and efficient. They were professional and very easy to work with. We will recommend them to all our friends and family.

I just finished a project with this company for a narrow front yard project at our hillside home in LA. They helped me install new erosion support redwood planters with hidden rail ties (looks amazing!) and also leveled the ground down 7 inches to help us make maximum use of the narrow area for a patio / and laid decomposed granite down. Would recommend and look forward to work with these guys again! Also very easy invoice payment system. Thanks guys!

Great company! Ive used Western Pacific Landscaping many many times over the last 10 years on several properties and Ive always thought their work was great. Theyve trimmed trees for me, built a retaining wall, done concrete, done pavers, and more. My front yard succulent garden had become quite overgrown and just this week they did a lot of work to it. They removed quite a lot of firesticks trees which had overtaken the yard, and they rearranged the remaining plants and cacti, re-planted some smaller sections of the firesticks, and finally converted my sprinkler system to a low-flow drip irrigation system. Through the whole process they were very attentive & they worked extremely hard in the summer heat. I worked with long-time owner Mike many times, and Cody, Anthony and Miguel did great work this time around. I recommend this company without any reservations and will hire them whenever I need work done. Thanks, Jeremy, Silver Lake

We had a great experience working with this company! From the beginning they were very open to working with us to develop a plan for our yard, and added their expertise to our concepts while still understanding what we were going for. During their work we had a few last-minute ideas -- we spoke to them about them and they were able to make them happen! Our house is looking much better now. Would recommend and work with them again!

I rarely, if ever, write a review but for Western Pacific I just have to. Where to begin, from the onset Cody came and gave us an estimate. He was professional, thorough, and transparent from day 1. Made it easy to decide on choosing WPL. The team communicated clearly, kept us updated on timelines for work to begin and their accounting, billing and invoicing was super easy and a pleasure to deal with. Once the work began, it was clear that after day 1 they were special. Anthony and his crew were thoughtful, careful, and showed the utmost professionalism. They cared for my mothers home as if it was their own and some. They left the premises pristine every evening after doing a full days work- was better than when they began that day! They included us in all the decisions, explained the process, showed us updates. All around a true pleasure to watch them work and transform my mothers front yard and garden into a beautiful and self-sustaining masterpiece. These guys are hands down the best; best service, best execution, best work, best final job, and best continued follow up! Will use them for any, and all, work that needs to be done on my home and will recommend them to everyone I know. 10 stars!

Our yard was in need of some serious help and I was having trouble finding a landscaper that would respond to my requests. So thankful that I found Western Pacific, because not only were they extremely responsive, they were all around great to work with (even fun!). We knew we wanted to have a low maintenance yard, but did not have a lot of ideas past that. Cody worked with us to get us what we needed at the price we wanted to spend. The job was finished on time, on budget and our yard looks great! Very grateful for their work and would highly recommend!
