This is the second time Ive used First Choice. I had a huge Hackberry tree and 2 smaller treeswhich had to be taken down because of power lines. They arrived promptly when they said that they would. The 5 young men worked together to get the job done quickly and efficiently. They cleaned up the mess and for the size of the job, I thought the cost was very reasonable. Thank you!

I am glad I chose first choice lawn and tree service to cut down a massive (dying) oak tree. it was hanging over my house and was a huge danger. they got the job done safely! they even avoided crushing my garden, which was planted very close to the trunk of the tree. this is a very professional and upstanding company. The office was responsive through the entire process even after Our tree work had been completed and I had Already paid the bill, but I was not happy with some of the cleanup work so call the office they sent someone out right away and fixed it . Excellent job would highly recommend this company to do your tree work.

The First Choice Tree Service crew did a great job cutting down two trees and removing a fallen tree for the best price quoted by three tree services. One of the trees was very near power lines and the tree removal was surgically performed so the power lines weren t harmed. The equipment used was appropriate and the crew knew how to use it. The clean up was very good. A very good experience overall. I would certainly recommend First Choice Tree Service to anyone and will certainly use them again.

I had a huge old black oak tree with several dead branches, probably in part due to competition from several hackberries that had grown up around it before I bought the property. 1st tree work estimate was based on them just taking the black oak down, and doing no stump grinding of the few trees i did want removed, so I called First Choice. The man who worked up the estimate was really impressed with the tree, saying it was between 200-250 years old, and encouraged me to try to save it, which is what I wanted in the first place. The crew came the afternoon I was told they would arrive and returned the next morning. Several trees were removed, about 7 trees had the canopies raised, several had branches removed. They did a great job, even taking care ( without me asking) not to run over a patch of hellebores when positioning the bucket truck to work on the old blackmoak and surrounding trees. And they cleaned up all the areas they worked in. A stump grinder came out later and did a really nice job, especially since one of stumps was within inches of a metal fence which he managed to avoid.

I chose First Choice Lawn & Tree Service after they worked on my neighbors property. My neighbor was very pleased with their work. Now, I am very pleased. Mr. Greene came, checked the dead tree and gave me a quote which I accepted. He also checked other trees which he said were heathy. I was sent a date for the work, confirmed before they came on the designated date. The dead tree was safely removed and all debris cleaned up. I will use them again, if needed. I give them a 5 star review.

I had a huge Bradford Pear tree (20 years old) that needed to be cut. First Choice gave me a fair price, scheduled the day and once they arrived, the tree was down, chipped, and the area cleaned up in about an hour! Impressive!

We called First Choice to cut down three trees and prune one larger tree. We were provided an estimate for all work and we were scheduled quickly after. We are very happy with the service, the crew was on time, professional and left our yard looking great! Every person I interacted with from First Choice was friendly and helpful, I will definitely use their company in the future. *Update* We ended up using their services a year later to cut down our larger tree and one other. They once again exceeded my expectations. They were able to get the largest tree down quickly, left a very low stump and cleaned up the entire yard. Thanks again!

During a storm a 100+foot tall oak tree fell on my house. I called and within an hour a rep was there to assess the equipment needed to remove it. A crew arrived the next morning and within a few hours the tree was gone and everything was cleaned up. The guys were fast, professional and courteous. I paid First Choice to have two trees removed. I was incredibly impressed with how fast and efficient the crew was, and how professional the job was. The raked up all the small twigs and wood chunks afterward, and even used a leaf blower to get the sawdust cleaned up. I had some special requests for my removal, and the person who did the quote called me to confirm that they understood the instructions I left on the invoice and adjusted the price based on not needing the wood removed. This is clearly a busy time of year for them and they had to push my tree removal back a day, but they called first to make sure the new day would work for me and showed up first thing in the morning like they promised. Overall my experience with First Choice was excellent and I would absolutely recommend them to anyone needing tree services in the Knoxville area.

Fast, efficient & professional! Removed two small trees, piles of limbs I had trimmed and removed dead branches and raised the skirt to balance out a giant pin oak. Workers were friendly and they did a good job cleaning up when finished. Was also nice to not wait 6 weeks for service.

I signed a contract with First Choice Lawn and Tree Service to have several trees cut down, some trimmed, and stumps removed. Upon signing the contract, I was informed that the men would have to remove part of the chain-link fencing, but that they would put it back (which they did). The tree removal team was most professional and did an outstanding job. However, the stump removal process is a different story. First, I was told the person who operated the stump grinder had quit (or was fired) and had also torn up the grinder. I have no reason to doubt that is true. Finally, after many weeks, the company sent a man to grind the stumps, but he informed us that he could not grind the stumps in the backyard because he could not remove and replace the fence by himself. We were then told we would have to remove the fence which we do not know how to do and cannot do. After weeks and weeks of waiting, the company finally agreed to refund the cost of grinding the stumps. Bottom line. Overall, I think they are a good company. However, if you contract with them, get EVERYTHING in writing. I want to write an amendment to this review to say that First Choice Tree Service refunded the monies that were appropriated for the stump removal which the company was not able to complete. They did the right thing. I would highly recommend this company for tree service.

First i would like to thank you for not setting a value for other peoples time, by me missing work to be here and me losing money. By the means of... To show up on the day of to perform the work, only to double up my original quote for service, when i never changed anything on the quote that was done a few weeks ago. If you had a problem within your business, i understand those things happen, but to just double it up and not try to reason with me on it, when its not my fault, umm no thanks. I would have understood a phone call and re-quote in advance and then reasoned with you all, but not day of the service when apparently you had a heads up on this. So as i can not judge by the service, as none was performed. I am judging this review from customer relations skill, more or less. Take care

My experience was good at first with the gentleman that came out to do the original quote, he was extremely nice. But after that it was downhill. I was expecting them on the day that was scheduled, they never showed up. It wasnt communicated to me until the NEXT day when I called upset about the job they did that day. They cut down a tree I specifically didnt want cut down all the way, they horribly butchered a tree I, again, specifically said did not want too much taken from it because it was one of my favorite trees in the yard! They left the yard clean which I appreciated but no wood left behind like i was told they would. The ladies I spoke to were nice and seemed genuinely concerned. Two times said they would speak to the owner and call me back. I have yet to hear from the owner. Then I get billed for 2k more dollars. When I called, I was told because it took 2 days. What?? When I looked in that statement, I was being charged for a tree that wasnt in the agreement or on my property for that matter. Its just been an overall disappointing experience so far. There has been damage that cant be undone and bad miscommunication overall. I dont like writing bad reviews because I like to give people the benefit of a doubt and I try to communicate and hope they make things right. In this case, there are too many factors and Im not getting the communication and the respect I deserve as a customer whose paying thousands of dollars for a job to be done right. Maybe to them it may be just another tree but to us homeowners, its our property and more than just a tree. They should treat every job as if its their own.

If I could I would give First Choice Tree Service 10 stars! Highly professional people. They work hard, safely, and quickly, to get the job done. They removed 7 trees for me. I cant say enough positive things about them. I will do business with them again!

Although First Choice was the most affordable option, we found their communication and service lacking. They changed the start time twice without notifying us (we had to call them after they failed to show up twice). In addition, the foreman was supposed to call to discuss additional services, but we never received a phone call. When they finally arrived, I reminded them that I would like some of the cut down trees saved for firewood and indicated where I would like it stored (this was also stated in the original work order). The tree trimmers left without leaving any firewood and without asking for our final approval on their work. If they had, we would have mentioned that one of the trees should have had two lower branches removed because they looked precarious and could easily fall during a heavy storm. While we are happy with the price, we are not happy with the lack of communication, the inconvenience and disregard to our schedules, the overall final product, and the theft of our firewood.

During the storms Sunday night I had a big tree fall down in the back yard. I work a crazy schedule so I needed it up Tuesday on my off day. The guys came and gave me an estimate which was very reasonable considering I needed to get the tree up and also trim some others. I agreed to the estimate and they came right back and got on it. They are very professional. After they got the tree up they racked up the other tree parts and put everything in a wood chipper. And then they trimmed my other trees for me. First Choice should be your first choice for your tree trimming needs. Anytime I need a tree trim they will be my FIRST CHOICE. Thank you guys so much for coming out on such short notice

They were the kindest most professional group I have ever worked with. They removed our large pieces of wood first and then came back 2 weeks later to grind the stump. I did not have to call to remind them or anything. They stuck to their quotes and did not change the price at all. I have never seen such straight forward honesty from a business. TEN STARS !! I needed all the branches removed from a tree by the house. Arnold (i think it was) came out and quoted on the spot, $2000 on a piece of paper. The job was to remove all the branches and pile them up nearby and Id dispose of them. He didnt mind a bit quoting that, others that came to quote just wanted to argue with me or tell me what I wanted done. They lost a chance to do the job. One even quoted me a price including cutting a neighbors tree down! Note- a PAPER quote, not on the internet...I dont sign internet documents. There are a couple tree service companies playing internet contract games. They lost the business. The quote was in between high and low. Ive done a lot of tree work, some lift work, and it would have cost me 500-1000 to rent a lift so this was a reasonable deal. The crew came, were very polite, good to talk with, they listened carefully to the problems associated with a very expensive roof (a commercial TPO roof, very fragile) and that branches could not be dropped on the roof. The work I saw was incredible (and Ive done this kind of work, I know...) Well coordinated crew, communicated well, the man in the bucket was incredibly skilled. Not ONE branch fell on the roof. It was fascinating to watch him work, I actually videoed it. he tied a rope off to a high branch and cut the lower branches so theyd swing away from the house. The only negative I saw was that they didnt wear proper safety equipment, one man got a wood chip in his eye. Thats avoidable for $5. Again, TEN stars, especially in an area such as Knox. TN where businesses are typically arrogant, uncooperative and think the Customer works for them.

Pleased with tree, bush removal, trimming and price. Not so much for the rut left in the front yard. Left 3 voicemails with the company last week, no response. Finally I texted the sales rep. I had questions and wanted estimates on other trees. Received a short response, so far no call.

Unfortunately they never made it for me to see their work. Had a hard time getting a hold of this company and once we did, we set an appointment with the estimator who gave a window of 1015-1100am. I understand things happen, however, no call no show is a lack of respect for your customers time. Believe it or not your customers time is important. We called the company back after the window expired, could not get a hold of the estimator, left a message, got a hold of someone on the main line who said they were paging the estimator and would call us right back. More than an hour later and still no call back. Follow up: I received a call back from the estimator. I will give the benefit of the doubt to the man and chalk it up to a scheduling mishap. He did come out to my home, however, he came much earlier, no call, no text, not even a door bell ring and without my knowledge went into my backyard and wrote me a quote which he left in the mail box. At the end I m honestly just flabbergasted, this is not how I conduct business and ultimately went with a different company.

We hired First Choice Lawn and Tree Service to remove three very tall and damaged trees with clean up and removal included. They did a fantastic job. The price was extremely competitive and they are fully insured.We have more trees that need to be removed in the fall and I wont hesitate to call them again.

I called First Choice Tree Service based on the recommendation of a neighbor and had they actually taken my tree down Im sure they wouldve done a good job. They had a quicker initial response time than other tree services and were quicker to give the quote. When they came out and gave me a quote the guy said it was good for 30 days. On they day the workers came to remove the tree one of them said that he was confused about the price I was given and that the price would be what we would charge just to remove the wood and that they would lose money if they charged me that. He told me he needed to call the man who gave me the estimate and while I was inside they all just left! They didnt call me or give me any explanation as to why they did this. When I finally did get a call from the guy who initially gave me the estimate he said that he didnt know as much about the trees as the guys who remove them and underestimated my price. I feel this is untrustworthy and just bad business. Many people base their decision to use your business based on the quote and First Choice Tree Service changed the price on me the day of removal. You shouldnt send someone out to give a quote who doesnt know about trees. Everyone I worked with was friendly and they did apologize, but in the end they did not honor their word and tried to change their price despite documentation stating they would do it for cheaper.

Fantastic! First Choice is correct! These guys make it look easy. I had 10 trees in a tight backyard and I was amazed by the hard work and team effort to get the job done with no damage to anything around. Jack and Jorge know what they are doing. They showed up for the estimate and to do the job exactly when they said. Also, they did a great job cleaning up. I do not believe the negative post below. The customer will get a breakdown of their estimate: Cut and drop trees only, cut drop and haul off, and cut drop, haul off, and grind stumps. So yes, the customer needs to be able to do simple math and read the quote. Arnold did my estimate and everything he told me was done. Two of my neighbors are also now using them for tree removal. Very impressed with the quality of work these guys did with cutting down a tree for me. I have a civil war cemetery that was right in front of the tree that needed to be cut down and no damage. The office needs to do a better job with communicating with customers when the crew is not goung to show up due to weather or what ever the reason is.

They went above and beyond. Couldnt have asked for a better tree service. They were fast and effective.

I had at least 3 other estimates to have my tree cut down and all were so much more than I wanted to pay. I called First Choice and I couldnt believe the difference in price. They were very nice and the workers were on time and very good and what they do.

First Choice gave us a good price to remove a massive but messy Walnut tree from our backyard. Another company gave a slightly lower price but couldnt provide proof of insurance. Not only did First Choice provide proof of insurance, but I called their provider and confirmed that they were current and in good standing. Their crew was efficient and very courteous which is not usually what I expect from tree removal companies. The whole job except for the stump grinding was done in about three hours. The only knock I have against them was poor communication with us as to when they were coming to do the work and taking about a month to grind the stump after the tree was down. Id still recommend them and use them again.

Two weeks ago we hired First Choice to remove several trees from our property including a very large hickory tree hanging over our house, and sandwiched between two sets of power lines. It was a difficult removal. Arnold and his crew were very hard working, polite, and did a fantastic job overall. I was really impressed watching these guys work! They cleaned everything up and did exactly what we had agreed on, and then some. We highly recommend this company!
