Locally owned company. Very professional, excellent service and beautiful work. Brian Stovall was easy to work with and knowledgeable. Pricing is very competitive. We used them for new trees, lawn and sprinkler service.
We live in a subdivision that Lawn Butler maintains the lawns and sprinkler systems. We recently notified Lawn Butler of an issue with the sprinkler system, where an area of the lawn was not being watered (the sprinkler system was installed by another company). The next day, Lawn Butler added two sprinkler heads to cover this area. The work was performed very quickly and professionally. There was minimal disturbance of the existing lawn. We are very pleased with Lawn Butler's work on the sprinkler system as well as their lawn maintenance services.
Let me begin by saying we were very happy with the work we had done by Lawn Butler. Our house was built 30 years ago and the landscaping was minimum minimal as we were just about broke when we finished three years later, the house flooded due to poorly executed placement on the property ad drainage. A drainage pond was installed in front as a stop gap measure. A lot of dirt from the front was hauled around the back and basically dumped we always intended to do something but we didn't know exactly what. Fast forward 30 years. I met an old friend Patrick Johnson who had done some landscaping for us years ago.Patrick told me he was working for a company he really liked. We had pretty well given the job to someone else, but Patrick came over and showed us their capabilities and we were impressed. We then met with brian their landscape architect and he proposed a hardscape backyard with a wall of stacked boulders. I couldn't quite understand what he meant, but he showed some pictures that looked encouraging. The result was far beyond our expectations. They offered a detailed proposal and design that we liked. They came in on budget in exactly the amount of time they said it would take to do it. They were here every day on time. They were very accommodating to us - polite and careful working around our cars and our property. You can see from the pictures of the back that the mini Stonehenge as we call it is quite impressive and far behind what we expected. The pond in front was poorly constructed, too small and too shallow. Since the equipment was there, we asked for a proposal to clean out and reline the lower pond. It proved to be more complicated but Brian figured it out. Theybegan working on that project as they were finishing up the backyard "Henge." Once again the project exceeded our expectations and came in slightly under budget and on time I can't recommend these guys highly enough they brought the equipment some very skilled operators people who worked very hard and were trustworthy and friendly. Andrew is a true irrigation professional. He is knowledgeable and understands the essence of troubleshooting a problem. He is very personable, as well. He aggressively and professionally perused my irrigation leak and fixed it in fine fashion. I really appreciate his hard work and wanted to acknowledge his efforts publicly.
We used Lawn Butler for the mulch installation at 2 large luxury apartment communities. The team was respectful, kind, and hardworking. The even approached my maintenance lead when they saw him pressure washing to ask if they had made a mess and told him they would clean it. It wasn't them. He was simply doing routine pressure washing. We received a lot of positive feedback from our residents. We have used other companies in the past who were lest efficient. We are located in Chattanooga, TN and they were excellent at communicating with us prior to the project. They left zero mess behind, just a beautiful product. We will definitely be using them again next year!
Brian Stovall was our designer. We had a terrible flooding problem in the backyard that needed to be addresses asap. We are VERY pleased with Brian's design and Lawn Butler's workers. Our yard no longer floods. What an amazing transformation! We had this work done right before the huge downpours that rolled through this area recently and our yard held up like a trooper! --see the before and after pictures. The pricing was reasonable. The work was done well and the guys showed up on time and finished the project as planned. If we decide to have more yard work done in the future, we will call Lawn Butler.
I have the misfortune of my HOA using The Lawn Butler to take care of my lawn. They handle everything outside my fence and I handle the inside. This experience was nothing short of a nightmare. Not only do they fail to deliver on their promises, but they also caused significant damage to my wooden fence, displaying a shocking level of incompetence and disregard for customer satisfaction. From the very beginning, it was clear that this company lacked professionalism and attention to detail. Their workers repeatedly hit my wooden fence with their red lawnmower, leaving behind unsightly gouges and scrapes and red paint which proves it was them. They have hit it over 10 times. Probably more. Additionally, their reckless use of a weedeater resulted in excessive damage to the fence, with numerous chips and scratches all along its length. I begged them to please ask their guys to be careful but the damage continued. It's astounding that a supposedly reputable landscaping company could exhibit such carelessness and complete disregard for the property they were supposed to maintain. When I brought up the issue of the damaged fence, their response was nothing short of infuriating. They had the audacity to claim that they couldn't "see" the damage in the photos I provided, despite it being blatantly obvious (you be the judge). Instead of taking responsibility and addressing the issue professionally, they chose to dismiss my concerns, acting condescendingly and implying that the damage was inconsequential.the owner Josh told me that this was normal damage for a weedeater. I do the inside and it looks nothing like this! Such a dismissive and disrespectful attitude is completely unacceptable. It is not only the visible damage to my fence that infuriates me but also the utter lack of professionalism and customer service exhibited by The Lawn Butler. Their unwillingness to rectify the situation or even acknowledge their own mistakes is a clear reflection of their poor business practices and utter disregard for customer satisfaction. I strongly advise anyone considering hiring The Lawn Butler to steer clear and find a more competent and reliable alternative. Trusting them with your landscaping needs will only lead to disappointment, frustration, and costly repairs to fix the damage they may cause. Save yourself the trouble and choose a company that values their customers and takes pride in their workmanship. By the way, if The Lawn Butler tries to dispute this in anyway, good luck. I have the entire video of my interaction with Josh the owner and trust me, he doesn’t look good. Very condescending. I have also taken pictures over time to PROVE all the damage you have caused.
We used lawn butler to spray mulch on a hill two years ago. They were fantastic. The mulch lasted well and we were pleased. In July of this year we had them return. We received a quote based on the amount of mulch used previously. Their crew arrived and were great, but they brought black mulch and decided it would stick better if they used natural. They said that it would also save us money. They came back while we were out of town and sprayed. The mulch was very poor quality and some of it just looked like dirt. We asked for someone to come look and their person told us, well, our mulch quality isn't very good this year and next year try to be home when they spray. I also asked about the difference between black and natural mulch and was told that was the original quote. The mulch in the picture is a little over 2 months old. We were really happy the first spray, but this one is so poor quality. We'll hire someone to just spread mulch in the future.
I have been a Lawn Butler customer for approximately two years. The service to my property is exceptional. The crew is extremely professional, & the customer service department is always responsive to my inquiries. I would highly recommend Lawn Butler to anyone seeking a full service lawn care company.

Lawn Butler blew mulch on my hill this week and it looks fantastic. I have problems getting bagged mulch to stay on some of the steep parts and this has covered them well. It looks fantastic.
They damaged my property. I asked them to be careful and stop damaging my property and their response was to only mow/weedeat some of my yard-not all. so they aren t completing the job they are paid to do.

Ive always had a good experience with this business. My sprinkler system was installed by a fly-by-night business and had lots of problems. I called Lawn Butler to get it running properly, and they did. Since then, we have made improvements and made it even easier for me to use and more beneficial to my garden. I am the director of a preschool in the Sequoyah Hills area of Knoxville, TN. We have used Lawn Butler for several years to maintain our playground. This year, I contacted Lawn Butler with an urgent need to have new sod and mulch installed. I was late in my request, but Seth and his team worked to install over 500 yards of new sod and two truckfuls of new mulch THREE WEEKS before my due date. The installers were professional and efficient and worked around our students playground time. Seth was diligient in keeping me updated on delivery dates and sending detailed instructions on how to maintain our new sod. In this day and age, when it feels like you cant find companies who will even answer your calls for service, Lawn Butler stands head and shoulders above the rest. I absolutely recommend this company and will continue to use them for all of our needs!

These guys unfortunately are hired by our HOA and are terrible. They can t figure out which areas they are supposed to mow and not mow. There is absolutely no consistency and our neighborhood looks terrible as a result. When you ask them to mow the areas they are supposed to that they have neglected they are combative and argumentative. Both in person and on the phone. They say they are not mapped for that. Which is 100% incorrect. We have massive overgrowth everywhere. Stay away from lawn butler.
Lawn Butler came out and re mulched our playground at our preschool after a construction project. We needed this done on a specific day and they worked with me to make that happen. Anthony spent time with me listening to my vision and he made it happen. Our playground looks amazing! Anthony was so kind and exceeded my expectations. He gave me ideas that ended up being much better than my original vision. I highly recommend Lawn Butler!
I contacted this location to see about getting a quote for service. Got an email back the next day from the office manger requesting my address and phone number. I provided but no one called me to discuss. I waiting a few days then called in and she explained that the manger had it and would be calling me to get a quote. Well today I got an email that says we cannot take on your service at this time. They did not call like they said on the phone and if they did not want more business just say it upfront in the initial email don t waist people time.

We are into the second year of using Lawn Butler and have seen a tremendous improvement in our lawn. Our 3/4 acre lot is mostly hillside and clay. We struggled for years to maintain a lawn and could not keep the grass growing. We thought we couldnt afford a professional service but Lawn Butler is reasonable, and the results are well worth it.
What a terrible experience. Josh, our salesman gave us a quote for everything we wanted taken care of in our front and back yard, including hardscaping. He priced all jobs separately for us as we requested. We called maybe a week later to let him know that we d like to schedule a day to aerate, fertilize an seed, he told us it may be a while due to freezing temperatures, in the middle of the conversation we were disconnected. He texted to and let us know the service was bad in the area. The next day we received an email letting us know that we were scheduled for the next day.... no time mentioned. So, I called the name and phone number on the email, I left a message. I then texted josh, explained what happened and that we d like to talk to him, he texted back service between 2:00-5:00. I asked if he would call us when available, he texted back that he was in a meeting but that we can continue to text him. We had questions concerning the yard, preparing for the service... etc. I guess when you sell something, your know longer are available by phone. The day of the service I was home, got ready by 1145 let our dogs out ( 4 of them ) the dog door. They started barking, I looked out the window and there s 2 guys in our back yard. I quickly rushed outside, I asked what were they doing. They responded must be the wrong house. I said, no we have a service scheduled today Between 2-5:00. Why didn t you call or knock on the door??? Instead you come through the secured gate without permission and leave the gate open... they looked at me with no concept of what I was saying. No apology nothing. They said, stopped to check things out before we went to lunch. Trying to move on from what just happened, I asked if there s any problem that they foresee with the yard. They said no and that they would pick up the dog toys, I told them I ll get them while they re gone. And I did. I watched through the window, he missed several areas. When I asked him to go back and finish the big patch of hay, he said, oh I didn t think you wanted that done. But did he ask... no? Where s the communication? Josh didn t say anything was wrong with any part of the yard. He assured us everything front and back would be done and priced so. Work was not done but yet our salesman assured us it would be! Fertilizing same thing, he went around the perimeter then was in the front. I asked another guy that showed up on the side of our house if he was here to finish the back? He responded, I don t know I just got here. Wow... this was our first service with Lawn Butler Glad we didn t do everything on our quote How disturbing!!
I am extremely pleased with lawn butler. They came and did all of our mulching and pine straw today and it looks phenomenal. The crew communicated with us very well, were extremely neat and produced a great result. We will definitely be using them again!
Our expericne was great all around using the Lawn Butler. They helped us make an informed decision, showed up on time, and did great work. I thought I always wanted a paver walkway, but they talked us into doing a stone walkway instead. I am glad thye did. We are very happy with the way it turned out.
The landscape designer worked with me to incorporate my wishes with lessons learned in what worked well, along with his expert recommendations for plants to install and a solution to a troublesome drainage issue. The work was done on time in fall 2020, and all installed plants lived through the winter and appear to be thriving in spring 2021.

We have been very pleased with Lawn Butler. Patrick and his team are fantastic. Our grass has been transformed. It is amazingly lush. We participate in the Turf program and I think that has had a great deal to do with it. The team are great, especially the crew that comes every week. We also have the leaves removed twice a season. The great thing about that is that they have a truck that comes by and vacuums up the leaves, so you dont have to wait for the city to get around to doing it. One last thing. If you have questions or requests, the response time is super quick. Thanks for everything you guys do.
The amazing folks at Lawn Butler have helped the Ronald McDonald House of Knoxville once again by donating mulch for our playground areas. Their staff, as always, did a top-notch job with the application & clean-up and we couldnt be more pleased with the results. This place is more than just a landscaping company....they are like family. When my grass was at its lowest, they came in a gave it life. What a gift. Also, their drivers are top notch and pull over for people who may be riding their tail. Very considerate. 5 stars.

Julio and his team did a phenomenal job, he treated me like a princess. They worked from around 8 in the morning until 5 with just a short break for lunch. If you need a ton of work completed I would make sure Julio is the one in charge of your job. He had a chain saw, blowers, and every other cutting contraption you can think of. Julio, he s your man. Julio Julio He will get the job done.
The Lawn Butler was able to get to our job extremely quickly and did an amazing job with my new fire pit, seating wall and patio. I would recommend Juan and his crew to anyone. Hard workers, and they provided a great finished product!

We have used The Lawn Butler for fifteen years for mulch, leaf removal, full yard maintenance, tree and shrub trimming, irrigation and bed installs. They are prompt to respond to us with any questions or concerns. I ll start by stating that I do not use the lawn butler. However, my neighbor does. On several occasions, representatives of this company have taken great care of my neighbors yard to back right into my yard (twice after a rain) leaving ditches from their truck tires. UPDATE: A representative from The Lawn Butler personally visited me to make everything right. This was impressive follow up and service.
Lawn Butler has provided turf care and Fall over-seeding for the last 5+ years. Their team communicates well in advance allowing me to prepare. Since they started, I always have the greenest and lushest grass in the Spring!
I have finally found a responsive, timely, and high quality lawn service in Lawn Butler. I recommend this company to anybody but recommend their employee, CJ Hall, even more. He has always been top notch in his knowledge and professionalism. Two weeks ago, he came to spray a treatment on my lawn but leaves were covering my grass. At the time, he did not have a blower so hand raked my front yard in order to apply the treatment. He deserves a raise for his customer service which is above and beyond!
For many years I have tried in vain to combat weeds, brown patch and crab grass. I could actually go back into my records and figure up how much I spent trying to SAVE money! Finally I called a lawn service to take it over. I wont mention their name, as they did a good job, but I was not able to contact them easily. I switched to Lawn Butler and have received great service. I do not have to get on the phone with them ever. I simply email and my wishes are granted! I have liked all of the guys who have come over the years. They are knowledgeable and friendly. One day just this past week, Kelly Corum, sent out an email about brown patch. I emailed Kelly that morning and Brandan Burnett showed up that very afternoon. This is just such a great company!
Lawn Butler was the best landscaping company I have ever worked with. They are efficient, their work is excellent, and they are easy to work with. I wouldnt recommend any other company. If you want the job done right the first time...call Lawn Butler!

This is a great company with a strong company culture based on customer service and professionalism. The staff is friendly, responsive, and professional. They were named as the Landscape contractor for the state of Tennessee in 2018, which is a pretty significant award! I have a similar business, in a different region, and many of our best ideas have come from observing how they do things there at The Lawn Butler. I highly recommend them to anyone.
Lawn Butler did an excellent job installing landscaping for my new home. Joshua Benson, the project manager, and Julian, the lead installer, were great. Working with Butler didnt start off on a good foot, but in the end they owned the issue and came through to do the repairs our irrigation needed promptly. They showed me and explained everything as they worked on the issues.
The bedding maintenance crew, Amy and her helpers, are outstanding! Amy is careful to listen and implement my requests. She is great at troubleshooting issues as well. I have a butterfly garden and extensive complicated perennial beds. Amy and her helpers perpetually go above and beyond in their work!
Lawn Butler helped us with some drainage issues on our property, including replacing a 50 year-old concrete culvert, installing an attractive and effective rock retaining wall and more. They did an excellent job. Kudos to Julian, who was a foreman over the workers who did the hard work. He was easy to communicate with and responsive in meeting our needs.
NOT RECOMMENDED. Tried to raise my mowing bill 30% in one season. They planted 4 dogwood trees (ball and burlap) and left the wire cage on the root ball. All of these trees failed to thrive and eventually died this year and had to be replaced Several dogwoods and a Japanese maple were heavily damaged by weedeaters. Very careless and lazy workmanship. Please look for service elsewhere if you value your property and landscaping!

Josh and his crew spread mulch in many areas of my very large yard in the drizzling rain. The work was professionally done and looked awesome when completed. My irrigation system needed a lot of repair after years of neglect and abuse in preparation for the aeration and over seeding of my lawn. After months of frustrating and unsuccessful dealings with several other local companies, I called Lawn Butler. Wow! What a difference! I should have called them months earlier! I first talked to Josh and explained what I needed. He said he would have someone call me and set up an appointment. A very nice lady Debbie, called me back within 2 days and set up the appointment. A refreshing change from the weeks and months of un-returned phone calls and delays I had experienced from the other companies. Only one week later a very nice well dressed young man named Sean Flynn rang my doorbell to do the repair work. Sean was very knowledgeable and went to work immediately He did the job very well and in less time than I had estimated. He reviewed all the repairs with me, and made sure I was happy before he left. I highly recommend Lawn Butler to anyone who needs irrigation repair or installation. They are friendly, courteous knowledgeable, reasonably priced, and they come when they say they will, which is rare n any business today.

Im a contractor who deals with ORNL, Y12 and many very picky clients and I have pretty high standards. I had dealt with Lawn Butler before on my sprinklers and they did a great job so when I decided to do a hardscape project and a landscape project I got three quotes and they came out with the best price. I had worked with Brain Lowery before on projects at two previous homes when he worked elsewhere and knew his quality so since their price was lowest and I had worked with Brain before I made the decision to go with him on the hardscape and his counterpart Josh on the landscape portion. I could not be more pleased. They saved me 20% from the closest price and were great to work with. My projects were fluid and as many projects go there were lots of changes as we worked through the different phases and they had great solutions and any changes were very reasonably priced. Its rare I write a glowing review as I just expect contractors to have high standards but they did a top notch job and at a great price. Ill update with pictures soon but the project looks great and I could not be more pleased. Additionally, a shoutout to Perdo on the crew who was just meticulous in his treatment of my project and making sure every inch of my new sod and landscape got water!
Knowledgeable, passionate, thorough, family oriented, kind. These qualities are not usually about a company of this nature, however these guys know there stuff and dont play around with the quality and care that they perform. The owner will only except excellence and his training shows. This trickles downhill to all managment and laborers. Even the mowing crews show this passion, this company is far bigger than just mowing though. They are even training a new irrigation guy so it seems the Knoxville area will have a new contender in this area of expertise. Their stone work is truly top notch and every project I have seen was down right gorgeous. All this is coming from a perfectionist and a former employee who has since moved on to a higher tier of pay in another field of work, but much miss working with these guys!
shouldnt be edging outside of apartment windows at 8am. Learn how to use an edger too, youre about blow that thing up. Office was responsive so Im changing my review for that reason only.

I had a serious leaf problem on my hands after a recent storm in Knoxville (and some procrastination on my part). I called Lawn Butler on a whim, hoping they could help me out. They more than exceeded my expectations...everything from my first phone call, to my consultation, to the crew that came the next morning to execute the leaf removal. Everyone I dealt with along the way went above and beyond the normal call of duty. Their communication with me through out the whole process was top notch.
