Very impressed with professionalism of the team who was removing leaves from our neighbor's yard today. The wind was mildly blowing but the mass of leaves they were cleaning up was blowing into our mostly leaf-free yard. Thankfully the crew came into our yard and cleared out the fallen leaves that had blown across the neighborhood street. It was really nice to know that they acknowledged it and came to clean up without us needing to ask them.
DO NOT ever use GrassMasters or Charles Champ for any leaf removal or landscaping. We used him last year for curbside leaf pick up and it was always around $70-80. Called him a few weeks ago for the same service and just got a bill for $259!! He claimed it was because the leaves were wet - don’t come right after a major snow/rainstorm!! Some of the most dishonest business practices I’ve seen.
They did a good job and came when they said they would, but I recommend you insist they come in-person to see the job before providing a quote because I was charged over twice as much as the top end of the quote I was given. I asked if they needed to see the job first and they just asked that I send pics, so that's on them if they chose not to take the time to come see the job. When I told the owner that I would pay the invoice but that it wasn't fair to the other companies who lost the bid based on his quote, all he said in his reply was "thank you", so I don't think he's in the business of building relationships and retaining customers.
Love the service from Grassmasters Knoxville. We use them every year to remove leaves and we have LOTS of leaves. They responded quickly and did a great job sucking the leaves up. We use them every year. 5 stars from us!
Excellent at landscaping, mowing and leaf removal. I definitely recommend!
We initially just had GrassMasters for lawn mowing. For that purpose alone we were very satisfied. Working out arrangements with Charles to get any other work done is absolutely horrible however. We asked for some landscaping to be done. We were quoted a price of $300. The work was very poorly and incompletely done. Our neighbors even commented about how little was done. The workers sat in backyard relaxing the majority of the time. We let Charles know the next day of our displeasure. Reporting dissatisfaction had no result. We were still billed for the normal price (actually even MORE) and no one came to verify if our claims were true (which, I promise, they were). We decided because of this to cancel all services with GrassMasters. Charles then sent a new bill with added fees that were originally supposed to be included in the landscaping project that we were so unhappy with. So we ended up paying MORE for a HORRIBLE job. The original bill was paid in full. Yet after cancelling services we have been charged for additional fees that Charles knows is bogus. We will pay it just to get rid of him and his sketchy dealings. I urge you to not do business with him. He has a few good (and a few bad) workers but expecting him to keep with quotes (even when the service is not satisfactory) is unrealistic.
I have never used GrssMasters. However the Beach Bum beside it is amazing. I will say the appearance of GrassMasters is always clean
I've had an exceptionally frustrating and disappointing experience with GrassMasters. I originally reached out on 7/2/2018 about getting an estimate for lawn care, as my work schedule was not allowing me enough time to keep up with it myself. I wanted to have some other stuff done besides mowing as well, including trimming bushes/trees, weeding and mulching a few area, re-burying some speaker wire, etc. Charles contacted me on 7/3/2018. Initially on the phone he said about the speaker wire: "We can do it, but you probably won't like our price for it." --- This sounded a little like it wasn't something they were interested in doing (which would have been fine had they said so) --- but he came out and quoted it all anyway. I didn't really haggle on the price too much, just asked if there was any sort of package incentive for me to do everything they quoted and take on a seasonal agreement for mowing and trimming. He offered a $40 package discount and I asked when they could start. On Thursday, 7/5/2018 I was contacted again and told that mowing will start next week, and that landscape work is still being worked into the schedule at this time. The following week came, and by Thursday I still hadn't heard anything and the yard still wasn't mowed. I sent a message at 9:00 AM asking if they had figured out what day they were coming to the house. No response, so I sent another message at 4:51 PM asking for an update. Again, no response. I sent an e-mail on Saturday 7/14/2018 expressing my frustration and asking for an update, just in case something had happened to Charles's phone or something like that. Again, no response to the e-mail either. Now it's 7/16/2018, 2 weeks since this process began. My yard looks terrible and I'm going to have to figure out how to take some time off work to get this handled myself while I look for another company. Terrible experience, would not recommend this company to anyone. One of the main selling points for me initially, which was repeated on their web site and several times on the initial phone call, was that they are a lawn care company who you can count on to show up when they say they will show up. They are "very serious when we say we are dedicated to pleasing you." That was certainly not my experience.
