Kollegiate Lawn Care in Kitchener

I was looking at my lawn the other day and noticed this weed popping up all over my yard. I've been a customer of Kollegiate for quite a while now so last night I sent an email to Kevin asking about my lawn. First thing this morning he was at my house taking a look at it. He then proceeded to explain to me how crab grass grows and why it is so difficult to get rid of with chemicals. I didn't know and I appreciate that. I also appreciated that he did an additional weed spray on my lawn for the other kinds of weeds (there was not a lot of those. ) During our discussion he made some suggestions of what I could do on my part to stop the spreading of crab grass and he told me what he could do on his part. Not once did he try to sell me any extra services OR suggest I should purchase or upgrade anything. He added the spray and he said he will come back in about a month to see how the lawn was doing. I followed the instructions he gave me and did my part digging out the seeding crab grass that was there. I appreciate his honesty, his integrity and how quickly he responded to resolve the issue. I will be signing up this fall for next year's service because you get a discount when you prepay. Keep them in mind the when you're looking for a lawn care service.

If I could give a negative score, I would. I prepaid Kollegiate Lawn Care for this season (2024). The service and customer relations are the worst I have ever experienced. As you can see by the photos, I have weeds…lots of weeds. I contacted them first thing this morning ( June 24, 2024) and asked for a meeting. I was told by the girl on the phone that I would receive a call back. That call never came. I called again a few hours later, spoke with the same girl and asked for a status update. She told me she did not realize I wanted a call back, she then put me on hold for a few minutes and another representative spoke to me. This man was condescending to say the least. He said they were going to make a service call. I explained to him that I called earlier and wanted someone here so I could speak to them and show them the issue. His response was to ask me “if I knew anything about weeds” then he hung up on me. I then called back and unfortunately spoke with the girl answering the phones. I told her that the person she handed the call over to, hung up on me. She told me that there was nothing she could do. Really? My advice is to stay away from this company and if you don’t, never PRE-PAY as I did as I am sure I will never see a penny back from them. I now find myself out of pocket with a yard full of weeds. Nice. I am calling other local companies in hopes of salvaging my lawn this year. Kollegiate Lawn Care is a terrible company to deal with.

I just wanted to take a moment to provide a review for Kollegiate Lawncare. We have a large property and have been working with Kollegiate since we moved here 4 years ago. They are incredibly professional and their eye to detail is exceptional. As I mentioned we have a large property and they don’t miss any areas when it comes to fertilizing and weed control applications. Over the course of many years we have employed a number of other companies at other locations and not one matches up to Kollegiate. Been using the team here for past couple years. This year I noticed the lawn wasn’t as green and lush as we have been able to keep it. Kevin came out after reaching out, made a couple great suggestions on what we could do and spent some time educating me on weed prevention. That’s great service. Kollegiate saved our lawn! The weed control program along with their aeration and seeding services were extremely effective in generating lush, green results. The office staff are knowledgeable and happy to answer questions. Field technicians were prompt, reliable and demonstrated great attention to detail, even while working through the challenges of a season with much more rain than usual. Looking forward to continued results next summer. We will definitely recommend Kollegiate to others without hesitation. This team's commitment to quality and customer satisfaction is apparent and appreciated.

I have been dealing with Kollegiate Lawn Care since 2017. I have sold my property and now do not require their services as I am moving out of the area. A lot of companies send flyers and promise you so much, however Kollegiate PROVIDES the service that they advertise. They are very accommodating and always call ahead to let you know when they are coming. You never have to wonder what to do after they have been there as they always leave notice of what application they provided. Also on the notice are instructions for you with regards to watering and cutting over the next few days, along with any recommendations that they have. I would highly recommend this company.

Not trying to hurt the business, just reporting my honest experience of working with them. I paid for their service (Weed & Insect + Aeration) on April 7th which is very early in the season. I asked them several times (by calling their office) to perform the aeration on my lawn sooner and each time they were saying we will do it this week by Friday. This did not happen until June 14th when I decided to cancel my service. Their weed control was ineffective, I had to call them to after each visit and tell them about big weeds that they had forgotten to spray on. Now it has been more than 6 weeks and I am still waiting for them to reimburse the rest of my money. I was very hesitant to write this review but at this point I am not sure what can I do really, have called their office multiple times about the reimbursement and still nothing ...

The people were very nice, but our lawn has never looked this bad. After one year of one of their packages, we had about 80% of our grass die off. I had to call 3 times to have someone address a cinch bug issue. They attempted to repair the lawn with annual grass, that looked great briefly, but died off over the winter, leaving us with tons of dead grass to rake this year, and bare spots all over. We decided not to go with this company again this year.
