So we were shopping around for a complete redo out our front lawn and saw that they had reasonable rates, and also gave a military discount. They have been very responsive and helpful with answering questions, and got us on the books quickly. So far we have just had the kill off done and are now waiting for the seeding. I doubt there will be any issues, but I ll update the review if there are. So far, great customer service, great actual service, and quick to work.

In one year my lawn has completed a 180 from what it was. I had more weeds than grass when they started and I couldn t keep up. When they took over it took a little bit but I could start to see results. Right now my lawn has never been thicker.

I am beyond HaPpY with Lawn Doctor and recommend them for services! Affordable pricing with great results! I like that i can pay as i go ( meaning i pay each time service is provided instead of a large lump some at the start). I didnt think anything was going to help my bald lawn, it was basically just a billion ant hills of dirt. I still have the ant hills ( we will work on those next) but for the 1st time in 4 years, i have grass! I really was skeptical but with Lawn Doctor power seeding and lots of water.... You can see for yourself (pictures)! Early on, i did have a payment issue that brad was very prompt and courteous to rectify. I think it was just a miss communication on both sides! I will continue to use lawn doctor for all my lawn needs and you should give them a try!

Lawn Dr. only makes necessary suggestions and they dont try to upsell you. I really like and trust their opinions and the personal care they give. They are a great company!

Ive used Lawn Doctor for more years than I remember now. Ive been happy with them since I switched from another service.

Been using Lawn Doctor of Hudsonville for a few years now. I was really happy with their service and whenever I called I would talk to Randy or his secretary but last year I started getting forwarded to some call service or answering service and I tried to suspend my service so I could seed my yard. The after-hours answering service mistakenly terminated my service, now the Hudsonville branch has been absorbed by the Grand Rapids office and they wont honor the price I was paying and want to charge me $50 more than I was paying. The customer service person I talked to had no idea what package I was subscribed to or how much of my yard I had been having service. Im really disappointed in their service and the company theyve become. Im going to find a local company that maybe actually cares about their customers. A big thumbs down to Lawn Doctor of Grand Rapids!

Lawn Doctor has made my lawn look much better than it has in years. Very few weeds anymore. I have had them aeroate and overseed the yard in the fall a couple of times. That has helped fill in the thin areas in the lawn. I also have them now put down stuff for grubs as they have started to become an issue for me. I am happy with the service they provide. We have had this service for 3 yrs. Few things we called about, things that were promised would happen. Which after 3yrs didnt. So I called again voicing my husband wanted to cancel service cause someone was suppose to come out and evaluate our lawn and never did. So All I got out of the lady was; Ok Ill cancel your service! Not even a care, it aint like we just started with them. We were with them for 3 yrs+ Got them more customers in our neighborhood but they arent loyal when you are. I guess thats what happens with big companies. Theres always someone else.

After years of using Chemlawn, our beautiful, plush lawn ended up patchy and full of moss. We started with lawn doctor about a year ago. Last summer we could see some improvement but this year weve been really impressed by the thickness and color improvement. I would recommend Lawn Doctor a million times over Chemlawn.

They sprayed our yard for fleas, ticks and mosquitos. So far so good.

I moved into my house last year and the previous owners left the lawn in horrible condition with weeds growing everywhere. i tried to repair the lawn on my own but it didnt work. Lawn Doctor came in and within a month the lawn looked much better and now a year later its in perfect condition. trying to repair the lawn on my own costs about the same, so theres no reason not to use this company. Fantastic customer service as well. I even convinced my neighbor to use them because he was so jealous of my lawn! highly recommend.

Landscape and hydroseeding were completed at my new residence in mid-June (2021). The grass had not fully germinated when West Michigan encountered several strong Spring rains. This caused some washout whereby I looked to Lawn Doctor. I had originally purchased pest control and am thankful for the team s willingness to move those funds to power seeding. Following my initial fertilizer application and power seeding, the grade of the soil was returned to as expected. I couldn t be more satisfied with the work they accomplished and am confident my new yard will continue to come in perfectly. Thank you Lawn Doctor!

Had their bug guard program, perimeter pest program. It was awful, not sure what they did. Bugs were never worse, do not recommend.

Thanks to the 6 treatments a year service from Lawn Doctor, my 2 year old lawn is as good or better than any on my street.

I decided to go with Lawn Doctor last year because the service with my previous lawn care company really started going down hill. I figured it was time to try something new and Lawn Doctor had decent reviews and offered me a reasonably priced plan. I honestly had mixed results during my first year with Lawn Doctor. In reading some of the reviews, I do agree that its sometimes difficult to get a response from customer service. There were a few times (not always) that I left a message and it took a few days for a response or no one ever got back to me. Also, the weeds in my yard were the worst theyve been in a very long time. For some reason, the same weeds stuck around all season long and would never die after being treated. With that being said, I definitely want to say that any interaction I had with the owner Randy has always been positive. Whenever Ive had a question or concern, Randy has been polite and professional with me. Ive never found him to be rude or confrontational. Randy has always answered my telephone messages or emails. At the end of the first season, I spoke with Randy and expressed some frustration about the condition of my lawn. Randy said he understood about my weed problem and explained that they didnt have very good success with a certain product that was recommended to them. Randy was apologetic and said they would be looking into their options for treating weeds next year. In all fairness to Randy, I never really complained during the season about my weeds. I kept thinking the next treatment would take care of the problem and I didnt want to be the kind of customer that is known for constantly complaining. I decided to go with Lawn Doctor for another season because of the competitive prices and my positive interactions with the owner Randy. I will definitely speak up about any weed problems this year but I wanted to give a local company my support and are willing to give them another try.

Very dissatisfied with the service. I paid in advance for the whole season. about half way through the year my grass started to die in a big area. spoke with lawndoctor they emailed and said someone would be out to look. 2 weeks go by and nothing. Email them and again promised someone would come out. this went on until the end of last season. Would not recommend this company.

So I dont do these reviews much but I will for this company. I have used them for 2 years and the results have been great. I should mentioned that I worked at Weed Man a few years back in their Sales Department part time . Weed Man boast of their product and results. Well I can tell you that the results I have had from Lawn Doctor compared to Weed Man are the same if not better for a lot less cost. I was not paid to say this or reimbursed in any way. So do yourself a favor and at least get a quote from these guys,

Received a bill for services I did not authorize. You dont just get to perform a yard service and then foot the homeowner with a $235 bill. I do not recommend!

Crab grass was never taken care of. They never answer or return calls. When finally got a call back owner Randy came to my house with a chip on his shoulder. Had to ask him to leave where he abruptly cancel contract and promised refund in writing. 2 weeks still no refund. Avoid this person at all cost

Admittedly, I have been thinking about writing this review since I hired Randy and his team in the Spring of 2020. At first, I was a bit skeptical of the overall power-seeding process (mostly because I had never come across it before). Yet despite a very tough growing season and above average temperatures, our lawn looks GREAT! Easily the best looking lawn on the block. They use a larger amount of Kentucky Bluegrass seed, which takes longer to grow, but comes in looking just like sod and a darker green shade that is more attractive. Other hydroseeding companies use more Perennial Rye seed, which comes up much faster, but has a light green tone and is thinner once fully grown. To top it off, I always found Randy and his team very professional and prompt. He stuck to his word on what we agreed upon, would check up on our lawn regularly, and always had great product knowledge every time I talked with him. If I could make one recommendation, I would look for a different company to do the lawn prep (leveling, grading, and weeding) before the power-seeding than the one they utilized. And no, I am not going to name who they used. My reasoning is that after seeing other companies do this same service in our neighborhood (we live in a new development), I felt like they rushed the process and even hindered our initial growth. You take that and compare it to the exceptional work and service that Randy and his company did, and theres no comparison. In summary, I would highly recommend this company to anyone looking for a new lawn or for power seeding. If you have the patience, you can have sod-quality grass for a fraction of the cost.

Ive used Lawn Doctor two seasons in a row now and there are things that I have liked about the service and there are things that I have not liked about the service. When I have called to express my frustrations, Ive personally found Randy to be an understanding guy and patient to explain whats going on with my lawn. He honestly was the reason I signed up with Lawn Doctor in the first place. My wife and I met him at a home and garden show: he was friendly, enthusiastic and you can tell he takes pride in what he does. Ive always liked that. If I were to express a frustration with the service, it would be that, to me (an untrained eye), they seem very PROACTIVE but not very REACTIVE. Every early spring and late fall service Ive requested is done and done well, but Im disappointed that I have an immense amount of crabgrass showing up in my lawn. When I see the note on my door that they were there, no mention of the crabgrass and clearly nothing done about the crabgrass because it is still there. I dont know the best ways to treat these sorts of things, hence why Im hiring a lawn service, so to seem them go unchecked month after month after month is disappointing. Especially when I have friends and colleagues saying their lawn service companies took care of their issues almost immediately, without being asked. And as a side note, as a fellow business owner, I understand the importance of online reviews but I despise when companies beg for them. Want good feedback? Earn it without needing to prompt me.

I had a new lawn put in and it only took 40% with a different company. I called Lawn Doctor and Randy and I came up with a plan for my lawn to reseed where it was needed and then a maintenance program for the rest of the year. The lawn has turned out great. The take rate was nearly 95% with the reseeding they did.

I had a terrible experience with Lawn Doctor. When I signed up, I was promised exceptional customer care. That is why, despite the cost being a little higher, I chose Lawn Doctor - for the promised customer service. At the time of the first treatment, the technician parked on my driveway rather than the street and unloaded his wheeled vehicle to spread the application. Afterwards, I found numerous skid marks on my concrete driveway. (Skid marks that are still there three weeks later) I sent a text asking that they try to avoid leaving skid marks on my driveway during subsequent visits. I didn t receive a response to my request. After more than two weeks with no response, I reached out asking for a response. I received a very curt response that basically said their vehicles were prone to do that, so there was nothing they could do. They said the only option was for me to pay more so they can use a push cart to apply the treatment rather than a wheeled vehicle. Since the guy who cuts my lawn with a riding mower can manage to do so without leaving skid marks on my driveway, and my neighbors use a lawn care company that uses a wheeled vehicle to apply treatments without leaving skid marks, I saw this as a duty of care issue rather than an equipment limitation. If they care enough to pay attention, they are less likely to leave skid marks. When I pointed this out, Lawn Doctor flat out refused to honor their pre-paid contract with me and finish the season. They said they would refund the balance. I did not ask for this, I asked simply that they try to be more careful and try to avoid leaving skid marks. They refused to even try and refused to honor their contract with me. I would never recommend Lawn Doctor. Not because of the skid marks, but because of their incredibly poor reaction to my concern and their refusal to honor their contract with me simply because I asked them to be more careful.

Randy came out personally and looked at my yard. Gave me several suggestions that I could do to help my lawn and clearly laid out several different lawn care proposals to help me achieve better results with their help. This was a team effort. I had to do my part and they did theirs. Taking Randy s advice, trusting he knew what was best for my lawn, doing my part, and working together, my lawn went from thin and week to thick and lush. The team was always respectful and gave great customer service when needed. I would highly recommend them.

I dont why they came up my driveway during the winter but the driver left a rut in my yard. I would never use this company! Dont wreck my yard to make a profit.
