We have been in our home and property for 23+ years. We have used many Landscape Companies and have never been satisfied until we discovered James Landscaping. We had a large scope (our property is over 7 acres) and spent about half a day walking the property and discussing our thoughts. When we received the design, it was almost perfect! But we knew the design was the “easy” part…the execution of the design was the difficult and more important part of the project. Well, we can hardly find the right words for how smooth the installation happened! The installation Team was absolutely amazing! The Supervisors communicated great during the project but what really exceeded our expectations was the very few questions they had to ask us. That was because the Design was so well documented, the install Team had a near perfect roadmap to make the design come to life. All members of the team were friendly, professional and had a strong desire to satisfy our needs. They also exhibited tremendous respect for our property. They were careful with driving their large trailers and they cleaned up the property EVERY day during the install! That’s right! They cleaned up every single day! One of the biggest challenges we’ve had with other Landscapers was poor planting techniques which resulted in plants dying. This is one of James Landscaping’s biggest strengths. They took great care when preparing the beds before planting. They removed about 8-10 inches of soil and replaced with an excellent mix of soil and compost. We know this will result in all the plants developing strong roots for lasting health in our crazy Texas weather. We highly recommend James Landscaping for your landscaping projects especially very large ones. Unfortunately we know the initial and ongoing costs of poor landscaping (especially for large properties). We are VERY fortunate to have used James Landscaping…we wished we would have used them 20 years ago!!

James Landscaping performed a complete rework of our landscaping in 2022. They prepared and implemented a design that included major bed preparation and irrigation system work, new plantings, addition of a fountain and installation of lighting. The entire James team was professional, courteous and easy to work with. They were in constant communication with us as to the status of the project and when to expect teams at our home. They did what they said they would do when they said they would do it, and we were extremely pleased with the finished product.

They fabulously redesigned our backyard and worked nonstop through the heat to get our project done right. Everyone at James Landscaping was a pleasure to work with. We can’t thank them enough for our beautiful oasis! And, we thank our neighbors for recommending them to us. Brilliantly done!

Love everything that James Landscaping has done with our yard. Design and execution is wonderful and we get many compliments. Almost everything for us is perennial and planned so something is almost always blooming during the year. They also solved a tricky drainage problem for us. The crew is great and meticulous.

We have had more than one project done with James Landscaping that has never failed to amaze us. Our yard is our "hotel resort retreat". Those were the words our neighbor said about our backyard. The stone work is also impeccable. Along with helping us pick a variety of plants that work very well here in Texas. Everything flows beautifully ! Also, I have to say all of the staff are super friendly and a joy to work with. Always accommodating!

James Landscaping has done several Flagstone Walkways for us and we absolutely love them. They are set in crushed granite so they don’t shift but look very natural. We had 3 short walkways completed about 5 years ago and those have stood the test of time. So, we are coming back to do another longer walkway. Quality work!!

We are not happy at all with the execution, design, or customer service of James Landscaping. After the check clears, it's hard to get these guys back for followup work. 4 acre design. Not cheap. Execution - grass seed tossed out without even preparing the surface. Grass never takes, gets washed out, or can't germinate on top of rocks. Somehow this is out fault. Grass seed not warrantied. Design - Just a couple of shoer spots. 12 large plants in a square yard area, other areas plants are 2 feet apart. Tree planted 4 feet from house. And I could go on and on.... They should know better. Now I do.... Customer Service - months between email communication on dead plants. I get that some of the plants will die from too much water this year, but they ONLY contact us for the remaining $1300 on a $40k job. Never respond to questions about warranty work. When they do show, they replace 12 dead plants all next to each other with three plants of their choice. If you want to pay 3x the amount for 1/3 the result, call these guys. If you want great results, keep looking.
