Horizon Lawn & Landscape in Kansas City

This place is trying to SCAM me at this very moment. I got a call from a woman pretending to talk me into getting the leafs removed from my yard, but I wanted a price before agreeing. I told her that I had a doctors appointment but they could send someone out when I got back home. After my doctors appoint I came home and there were three guys here and already started, barely. I told them to stop untill I got a price, however none of them spoke fluent English so they spent about an hour trying to get instructions from someone. I finally got a man on the phone to translate. I told them if they did the work I would pay $200.00 if they wanted to do it for that. He then said he needed to clear it with his boss. But instead they guys here said We must go To be fair to them gave them 25.00 and some drinks. Later today they sent me an emailing threating to turn it over to collections. Im not giving them another cent so go ahead and turn it over to collections. Ill let you know what happens but..... DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE!

Horizon lawn service has done an excellent job so far. I was moving into a new neighborhood and within the week I was scheduled to have my lawn mowed. They showed great attention to detail with mowing and trimming our lawn. Very professional and had great communication, I would highly recommend!

Chris and Alfredo did an amazing job with our yard. They were very friendly and accommodating to our needs. Everything worked seamlessly and we were extreme happy with the price.

Steve came out did a backflow and closed the system down for winter. He found an issue with one of the lines. He flagged it off and will address it at start up in the spring. He had a lot of knowledge and gave me more information on the system than Executive Lawn did when they installed. The cookie was, I dont feel I was over charged for the work that was done. I dont often leave reviews, but I must say I have been happy with Horizon Lawn and Landscape. They were very quick to respond, they came out to assess a drainage issue and they did not pressure us at all. When I called them back with some questions Tom Cable was very patient with me and explained everything. In the meantime, my husband sustained an injury and is unable to cut the grass. Horizon has added us to their weekly list for lawn care and they have come every week. It is so hard to get people to do work and to respond in a timely manner and they did both. I would recommend them for sure!

Stellar job by Horizon Landscapers! I had a water leak that required digging up my front yard. I contacted Horizon and ask that they come out and repair the damage. They sent a professional landscaper out and he filled, smoothed and repaired the hole, then applied fresh sod and water. He also instructed me on how and when to water it. He was experienced and knew exactly how to repair the yard. It s perfect!!! Thank you Horizon!!

Horizon is the new lawn care vendor in our HOA and they do an outstanding job. I did not let the previous vendor mow my front yard because they did not do a good job - but it is an easy decision to let Horizon mow because of the excellent work they do. In many of the smaller front yards they use a 30-inch mower so they do not damage the yard with the big 52-inch mowers. They not only do a great job of edging, but they level trim as well, so there is not grass sticking up along sidewalks and driveways. I would highly recommend Horizon for anyone who wants their lawns mowed well and with pride.

Had a broken sprinkler line late on a Friday afternoon on a holiday weekend Horizon still sent out a technician and repair was done quickly! both their office staff and repair person were great!

Always do a great job and always accommodating to my schedule

Excellent so far. I have mowing service and will be inquiring about other stuff like sprinkler maintenance after great results. I pay about $35/service for a weekly mow of about a half acre. They never mow wet sod, which has to be a big hassle for them, but shows they don t want to take your money for a mow that will look terrible once the grass stands back up. Professional, polite, and communication has been good.

Have the HOA contract this year and they have been excellent. Mowing, trimming and cleaning up.

Best lawn care Ive ever had!

We had two dry stacked natural stone walls that had shifted and werent built well in the beginning approx.15 years ago. Mike had his crew disassemble the and rebuilt with original materials. They have it setting on a concrete footing and while reassembling glued each layer and cut the stone to fit closer together than it was originally. I am very pleased with their work and the communication between Mike and I. It was a great experience!

They were on time and delivered service as promised.

They do great work and are very helpful. They did my spring irrigation work two weeks ahead of a scheduled date because I had 10 trees being installed. They accommodated me on a short notice and flagged everything. Not one line was broken!

Best lawn company around! The attention to detail on the trimming and cross mowing is excellent. They will even remove my trimmings from my bushes if they are sitting out the day they mow! Highly recommended!

Horizon Lawn & Landscape did a fantastic job addressing drainage issues in our yard. The time from requesting the quote to having the drainage system installed in our yard was only 2 weeks. Our sump pump runs a lot, and from early spring until winter our side yard had been a swamp for years. We couldn t even walk through it. Our project was completed 2 days ago, it rained yesterday, and I just walked through our side yard on solid ground. We are so happy! The crew was friendly and professional, cleaned up after the project was complete, and left our yard in great shape. I would 100% recommend.

Was amazed at how quickly the work was done. Very nice and professional. Workmen. Clean up was like they had never been there. Would highly recommend.

Multiple times the crews would leave the driveway a mess. Other times, the guys would go back and forth to turn around and literally kill the grass eventually. The charges and hidden charges were insanely heavy. No matter what was said to management, the crews never changed their ways. $160 charge for a sprinkler repair that their own guys broke. The excuse given was the sprinkler is too high, well you replaced them, SO WHY SHOULD I PAY FOR DAMAGE YOUR GUYS CAUSED??? Horrible customer service!!!

Reliable, quick and great job

The tech who replaced the backflow preventer came to my house and did not make contact with me. I heard 2 people speaking Spanish and went outside to find the tech was on his phone with another person. He waved at me so I assumed he would knock on my door to advise me what s going on. Instead, he finished his phone call and left. I called the main number and was advised they would find out what s going on and call me back. In the interim the tech came back and went to work taking out the old backflow valve. I again thought contact would be made with me when the job was done but I looked out the window after an hour and the truck was gone. I went outside and saw the new valve in place. Turned on my sprinkler and all good. I get the tech perhaps didn t speak English but some contact before and after would have been appreciated especially when he left and returned

We hired them to do our elderly parents yards. They showed up on the wrong days, didnt communicate with anyone, didnt do the yard clean up, mowed over sticks, blew leaves into the neighbors yards, completely neglected one whole side of one yard and when we called to discuss it they showed little if any concern. They did offer to go back, but after 2 weeks of this service (and lack thereof) we have had enough. We will seek out service elsewhere and will be sure to tell others about our experience.

Snow Removal. Back in February of 2023 one day when it snowed, Horizon came out within an hour of my calling them to remove snow from my driveway, porch, and truck, because at the time, I had a broken ankle and fractured back, and could not do it myself. I had a doctors appointment and did not want to walk on the snowy sidewalk and driveway and risk slipping and falling. I REALLY appreciated them coming out so quickly, removing the snow, AND brushing the snow off my truck. I was very happy with their service!

We use their mowing service weekly and recently asked if they could clean out our landscaping due it getting away from us with weeds and a pesky vine. Horizon installed sod in large areas of my yard to fix issues from large equipment on my grass after a tree fell on my house. They did a great job on installation and were responsive to my questions. The work you guys do is AMAZING!!! Complete makeover on my lawn, patio, and driveway, I am so pleased with the detail and care put into making the outside of my home look lively again. On the other hand, I was made to feel as though I had a quote between 300-1000 dollars but when the invoice came in I ended up spending 2,427 and some change; you can probably tell from that jump ((( I was quite surprised))) I paid it nonetheless. From time to time I would peep out the windows and walk outside (mind you Im paying 3 men, $75/hr Per/person) I would assume that work would be constant amongst all three, unfortunately most of the time I would notice One man working while the other two sat on my lawn chairs, their mower or just kind of talking with one another while one guy worked! Yes, at times all three were working but a lot of the time it was rotated for two, to sit while one worked. I feel as though this time management strategy was dragged out longer than it should have, had they all consistently stayed on top of it working to make the job go a bit faster whilst maintaining efficiency; everything would had been done a lot sooner. I hate to play the maybe its because Im a woman, an easy target, and or would this had happened the same if my husband was home to oversee? but I cant confirm that, that would be an invalid statement. I would still use the service (for sure) if we can get time management amongst all personnel involved and working consistently and not so much draining time (because we are being billed expensively; we the consumer) this would be so appreciated more. Id also like to know if you guys validate the times your employees are on property or when the leave for lunch breaks? There was a time period were they werent even here on my property for almost 2 hours! Well, thanks for your service and I do love the work that was done. I rated 3 stars for the amazing job done but minus 2 stars due to slacking, and poor time management.

We started using Horizon this summer for our lawn care needs wanting to have all things (mowing and fertilizer and such) done by just one company. Their prices were comparable but the best thing I can say is that they are very communicative and have very quick responses. They have been wonderful! We are very satisfied!

Our yard needed a lot of tlc and the Horizon team did not disappoint. They did a great job maintenancing and cleaning up the yard. I will admit, it was a little pricier than expected, but definitely worth it. I will be reaching out again during fall.

Installed exterior Christmas lights. Noticed a bulb was not working. Made a request to replace and they showed up the same day to replace the bulb.

We contacted several landscape professionals, but Horizon was the only one to get back to us in a timely fashion. Within a few days they sent out a professional to help us re-design the hardscape in our front yard. Every text and email has been returned in a very timely fashion. We are thrilled to see what the final result will be.

Ive used Horizon Lawn and Landscaping for many years. They are a great company and very reasonable. Specifically, one incident comes to mind when their lawnmower caught a rock and broke a window. These things happen of course and Tom stepped in and took care of the window right away without me having to worry whether or not they would accept responsibility. Horizon is a wonderful company and I look forward to seeing them continue to grow.

Im not rating their work. Im rating their inability to make a bid appointment. To have a potential customer take off work and you no show them is highly unprofessional. Look else where for your lawn and landscaping needs.

Watched a crew working at the Community of Christ Church in Independence, workers where blowing all the grass and debris onto Gudgell and Emery Streets. Pretty dangerous for motorcyclists not to mention illegal to do. I spoke to one of the guys who apologized but then left the area without cleaning up.

Inquired about having some brush and lawn waste picked up at 10am and it was done by 2 that same day! The crew took time to speak with me about what all needed to be done and they were even able to help with a few other things on my yard to do list on the spot! We moved from a maintenance-provided house to a beautiful home with a huge yard. It has been truly a carefree experience because we have Horizon Lawn! They show up, mow, trim, clean up, and are gone in a jiffy. It is wonderful to have no worries about yard work!

Quote over double the final bill. Had designer quit and Tom was cl ueless about work being done. Workers sit around, slow to complete work just to over bill you. They just left job incomplete. They planted dead / small unhealthy plants. Will not reccomend. Negative
