Pure Prairie Organics in Joliet

This past season I hired Pure Prairie Organics because my yard had truly become overtaken with weeds - and not just dandelions but broad leaf weeds and clovers...oh gosh not a good look. And additionally we lost a tree from Japanese Beatles which are from grubs that start under the grass. I purchased a whole season of Organic mix weed control from Prairie Pure Organics and a Grub control treatment. Well, my yard starting looking great and NO MORE Japanese Beatles. I also have a Dog and he had no issues with the treatments which is super important to me. The customer service of this local business is excellent - they really care about their customers satisfaction. I have signed up again this year & highly recommend them for your yard, your family and your pets!

Pure Prairie Organics is the 3rd lawn care company I have hired in the last 3 years and Im happy to say the search is over. My lawn has never looked better, however the most impressive thing is how involved the owner Chris is. The previous companies I used I NEVER had contact with the owner, and one of them was family owned. Chris answers any questions I may have and he follows up on them. Upon one of the treatments a package of wild flower seeds was included with the invoice. I happened to have an empty planter sitting in the yard so I planted the seeds in it. A very nice touch, little things like that show the owner cares. Ive included a picture of the flowers. I highly recommend Pure Prairie. Keep up the good work guys!

I the past I have always done my own fertilizing and weed control. However every August I would get weeds that I could not get rid of. I contacted Pure Prairie Organics as my neighbor had used them. They listened to me and had my grass looking great by the end of the summer. I loved the results so much, I am continuing to use them this year!!!

I have been a customer for a few years now. They are reasonably priced and always prompt and courteous. I receive notice prior to their visit and I havent had any issues with their service. I regrettably left their service for a less expensive company and ended up returning to Pure Prairie after the first quarter due to issues with a different company.

I have had Pure Prairie Organics for my lawn feeding and weed control for many years. Weed control has been minimal, with the feeding the most important thing. Using Organics means that my lawn is safe for pets, always, and that the slow nature of an organic feeding helps the lawn flourish all season. I get 3-4 feedings each season, from early Spring to later in the Fall. The fact that Ive used their service for so long tells you how strongly I can recommend them. Organics only, please!

I never really took care of my lawn and would just cut down the dandelions or other weeds but decided to go with a lawn service these last few years and I hired Pure Prairie Organics and couldn t be happier. It s taking few years to build up a more beautiful lawn and it s getting there with their help. Provide detailed instructions on how and when to water after applications so you do have to help out to get the lawn you want.

Have had Pure Prairie Organics for a few years now. Really, like how the yard looks after had it for a bit. It has helped our grass to look so much better. We get all organic in the back where a garden is and blend in the front. Great Company. I would diffinitely recommend them.

We have had a significant problem with Creeping Charlie in several areas in the backyard. We gave Pure Prairie a try based on recommendations from others. The process has taken a couple of years but we have hung in there and trusted their knowledge and expertise. Not only is the creeping Charlie almost gone, but the entire yard is lush and healthy and beautiful!! It is the best it has ever been and I didn t think it was possible. PPO has also been respectful of the milkweed on our property too. This is very important to us. We strongly recommend this company!

We had had grubs about 10 years ago and not since, but had a grub treatment in June just in case. Then last night we noticed torn up patches throughout the lawn. These tracks started showing up the day after they fertilized our yard, but they stated it wasn t their equipment that caused this. They wanted to fertilize our yard again to make it green but since they didn t know or wouldn t say what caused this, we said no. I asked for less than $100 so I could buy grass seed to overseed and they wouldn t.

Pure Prairie Organics has done an amazing job on our lawn. Started out with the blended service for the first two years. We had to get the weeds under control. We then moved to the all organic weed and feed protocol. Best looking yard in the neighborhood. One down side, during peak growing season you may have to mow twice a week. Owners and staff are great. They are very responsive to any and all questions. I highly recommend this company.

This is our first year using Pure Prairie for our yard. So far they have been professional and very responsive anytime I call them. I signed up with them because I have weeds and even though my intentions are always good, that I will do it myself, I never do. Theyve been here twice now. Honestly I still have weeds, they arent as bad, but I still have them. Its really not fair to review them already because Im sure this is a process and it will take awhile to get my lawn up to the quality I want. But, they asked me to review them now so thats what Im doing. Im hoping Im correct in thinking that there is no magical cure for weeds and this will just take time. So, what I can honestly say this early on is they seem like nice people, they are responsive, and they show up when they say they are going to show up. As for the shape of my yard, I still have weeds but I am not surprised this early on.

We have used Pure Prairie for 2 summers now. Last summer my lawn was in terrible shape (weeds, crab grass, bare spots, etc.). Last summer I didnt see much improvement, but this summer I could see a big difference. I still have a few dandelions, but they are no where near the amount I had the previous summer.....despite the fact that my neighbor seems to be raising dandelions on purpose......maybe for a dandelion wine business ? I DID do the core aeration and over seeding last fall. This summer my lawn is much thicker and greener so I may do another aeration and seeding again this fall. We have 3 dogs so I like the organic aspect of the service.

We really like Pure Prairie and I feel great about using less chemicals on our lawn. We use the completely natural program (no chemicals) in the backyard because we have a dog and kids. The front gets a bit of weed control, but its used in moderation. With regular watering, our lawn looks great. Chris has helped us navigate a fungus issue as well and his advice worked.

I started using pure prairie organics for the first time last year . I wasnt sure what to expect, having use other lawn care products and companies for year trying to keep up my lawn . But I really wanted something safer for my family and my dogs with out all the chemicals I was very please with the service as well as how green and full my lawn was all summer. But the most pleasant surprise was my tree . For year its leaves would curl up and we would lose 30% of them starting in june I was told it had some sort of fungus. Shockingly last year for the first time in almost 20 year we had no loss of leave and my tree thrived . I can only assume it was the pure prairie organics because that is the only thing that changed I highly recommend this company

I live next door to a house that was not inhabited for years. The weeds from next door overtook my lawn. I called Pure Prarie and they have not only gotten rid of the weeds in the grass, but assisted in growing a healthy green lawn. The before and after of my lawn would amaze. They are always consistent with care, timing of services and answer any questions I have.

Pure Prairie helped turn our weed-filled yard into a nice green patch of land. Our tech has always been friendly and fast. They even move all the kids toys from the yard to the driveway when they are spraying the yard. I do wish they would seek clarification on grub control before using it, as it was just added to my last bill, but I was probably going to do it anyway to keep skunks away.

I have been a customer since 2011. I strayed for a year and came right back due to the outstanding personal and professional attention from Pure Prairie. This is lost with the Big Name companies.

Their weed prevention is top notch. It really got rid of all the dandelions, thistle, and clovers I had issues with. What I really like though was the Cedar oil flea/tick and mosquito treatments. Its not a poison so family/ pet/ garden friendly, smells nice, and works! All I heard about the 4th of July weekend was how everyone fogged and sprayed but still got eaten alive. My family did nothing extra, and we had no issues with any bugs. Even those Japanese beetles went away. I would absolutely recommend adding that service.

I was referred to Pure Prairie Organics by a friend because I live in an area near the Illinois Prairie Path and am starting to get a lot of invasion of creeping charlie and other weeds into our lawn. In addition, we have dogs that spend time in our yard and we would like to feel safe having them out there. Pure Prairie Organics came highly recommended as they have both an Organic and and Organic Blend option to treat the lawn. They even allow and encourage clients to choose different options, for different parts of the yard (back yard vs front yard). We have had one treatment and aeration performed last fall. We have been most satisfied with the ease of communication with the team at Pure Prairie Organics. They have been very prompt and responsive to any questions or concerns that have come up, and we are always aware when they have been out to care for the lawn. Several years ago I was using a large chemical based fertilizer service. Our lawn looked terrible! Someone told me that organic fertilizer works much better and makes the roots grow deeper. Whereas the chemicals make the grass just green for a short time and the roots dont grow deep. I did a google search and found Pure Prairie Organics. I am so glad I did! I hired Pure Prairie Organics after talking to one of my good friends who has used the service for several years. I have never used any lawn service before, and I have to say that I am very pleased. My ceeeping charlie and violet problem is mostly gone after only a few treatments. I ordered the blended program and I am so glad I did. I know that what tiny bits are left will be all the way gone soon and I will switch then to the fully organic plan. I can see a dramatic difference since the beginning of this summer in my lawns appearance. I wish Id taken photographs, because the creeping charlie was so bad. It probably was at least 30% of my front lawn. My attempts at removing it were Sisyphean at best, and I was really at wits end. Im very relieved to have a decent looking lawn again! I never felt right using the chemical based lawn services after having kids and therefor, let our lawn go natural for a while. After a few seasons of dandelions and crab grass, I did some research.
