Poor Boy Lawncare & Landscaping in Johnson City

I needed someone to backfill and repair a large area in my lawn where I had some concrete work done. Adam was great to work with. Everything was completed in a timely manner and done exactly as we discussed. They took a lot of care not to damage other parts of my yard as they completed the work. I won't hesitate to use Poor Boy Lawncare again in the future.

Adam was very responsive and did a great job for us doing landscaping for a playground put in at a local school. His price was fair, and he was able to get to it quickly. Very professional throughout the process. We will use him again for future projects in the Johnson City area.

Didn’t complete the job I paid for. Would not answer or return my calls and texts. Find someone else if you need work done.

Poor Boy Lawncare has taken care of our mowing and performed landscaping services over the past year and I would and have highly recommend them to anyone. Even with all the crazy rainy weather we have had lately they worked in the rain removing some overgrown shrubs and split trees. Thank you to Adam and everyone at the company.

I am very disappointed in the new management for this company. We have had them mow our lawn for years and never had a problem until management change. I believe it is Adam who took over, but I wouldn't know because he refuses to call me back after calling 5 times and leaving 5 voicemails with my phone number within the past few weeks. I called to finally fire them Friday because they didn't even show up that week yet they mysterious show up on Monday (which they never come on Monday) to do the job when I hired someone else already. To make a long story shorter I'll list the reasons we had to let them go. We gave them so many opportunities to make it right and they didn't even care enough to call us back just randomly show up to save their asses and keep getting our money another month. 1.) They were supposed to show up once a week to mow. Often didn't but would charge us like they came all month when they didn't. 2.) No one will answer the phone or call you back when you leave a voicemail. 3.) Let the weeds grow out of control then when addressed claim "Oh, I planned on working on that today." Oh, really? How convenient. Then do a piss poor job and leave while the weeds have started wrapping around the mailbox. 4.) Also, they thought I never noticed but when they would blow grass in the mulch they would run their hand through it pushing the grass under the mulch to hide the awful job causing more grass to take over our mulch more frequently. Not all the guys did this, just one in particular. As I said I was very respectful and nice to them but I feel taken for granted. I had to go fire them face to face and have them mow my lawn still because management couldn't find the time to care enough to call me back and fix the problems.There are so many other lawn companies that actually take pride in their work, don't choose this one.

If I could give zero stars, I would. I called on Monday and spoke with someone who said they would come mow and trim that day or the next. They did not show up and did not call to inform us. I called Wednesday and spoke with someone else who said someone would be here first thing Thursday morning. Again, no one showed up and no one called. My husband left a message Thursday evening. I called and left a message Friday morning and also emailed. No response to either. Their website says "Above all, we are distinguished by our high quality of work and commitment to customer satisfaction, before, after and during our project." This is clearly false advertisement since they do no show up when they say they will and do not communicate when they cannot meet their commitments. If they simply chose not to do our yard, the courteous thing would have been to do it the first time since they said they would on more than one occasion, and then advise us to find someone else. Now we have grass five days longer and will probably not be able to get someone else to come until next week. Their site also says they are Better Business Bureau (BBB) Accredited, but BBB's website says they are not. Very poor business practice and definitely not committed to customer satisfaction.
