Naturescape Lawn and Landscape Care in Janesville

We just finished our second season of using Naturescape. This past year we added the lawn mowing and they do an AMAZING job of mowing, edging and cleaning up the clippings.

Naturescape lawn service did another great job on my lawn for 2024. The tech, Jade Petty did a wonderful job and always was able to answer any questions or concerns that I had. He was never in a hurry to get the job done and leave for the next lawn. He made sure that my lawn was done correctly and with care around our shrubs/plants. Naturescape will again be taking care of my lawn in 2025.

Naturescape has fertilized and weed controlled our newly seeded acre of lawn for the past three summers and each year it gets a little more full. Everyone comments on how good it looks! The office staff is very responsive, I just send a text if I need a schedule change or an additional application, they take care to get our guy Jude out here no problem. He s got the job nicely done in no time and it s peace of mind for us knowing it s on a regular schedule. One less job in the yard that I need to worry about!

I had millions of these gross looking catapillilers at my campsite, couldn t walk or enjoy our camper bc they would constantly fall on you they were everywhere it was driving me nuts. The manager at the Janesville branch was very informative, answered all my questions she was a delight to speak with she knew what she was talking about and made all my worries go away. I set the appointment up to get mosquito control (who knew that would do it) went the following weekend and all them pesky things were dead I have recommended Naturescape to all my neighbors. Will not use another company than them

I have always been very satisfied with their work. I started with them because I had a weed that had been spreading in my yard for some time. I was unable to get rid of it after several attempts. After their first application it was also not affected. When I called them, they sent out a rep who said, it wasnt a weed they normally used an application for. After next application, It was dying. Havent seen it since!

This place is amazing they have taken care of my yard and made it look the best it could be!!! Also the manager was very helpful and understanding very knowledgeable!!!

My yard has been very well maintained by this lawn service. Staff is experienced in identifying weed problems and addressing them. I appreciate the crew explaining to me the condition of my yard, what they will do during the visit and what I can do for the best outcome.

Ive been with Naturescape for 2 years and the first year was rough. I felt like I was not getting custom expertise. People would stop by and not say anything to me. I would constantly call would be promised help but nothing would change. It wasnt great. The staff worked with me to fix the issues in the lawn. The combination of this and who they sent out have totally flipped the script for me. Insert Tyler. Tyler has done my last 3 applications and he has been phenomenal. He took the time to answer my questions. He provided his expertise. He listened. He was personal. He even rang my doorbell after an application and provided recommendations. Im convinced that he personally is making sure that hes the one who visits me after our first interaction to see to it that my lawn is making progress. THIS is the level of service I was missing my first year. Thank you to the office staff for helping turn around the lawn for me to re up this year and thank you to Tyler.

Contracted with Naturescape for 2023, and havent been happy all year. First application was put on and under snow for 3 weeks. I called last week and told them the guy never put fertilizer as checked on the ticket...only a liquid pesticide. Am still waiting for the manager to call me back with resolution. Let me just say dont bother calling about next year, as we will be going with a different company.

I was a customer of Tru Green for 18 years and found them cost prohibited as the years passed. I switched to NatureScape this season and couldn t be happier. The team are all very knowledgeable and professional. They have found a life time customer.

After being fairly disappointed with some other companies, this was my last hope. It turned out to be the best decision. Even during the drought, my lawn has never looked better. I just wanted to say that I am very pleased with Naturescape and there service. I have been a customer for around 20 years. I had my step 4 put on a few weeks ago and have noticed the weeds have pretty much disappeared. I met the technician Mattie who applied my service. She is a very nice young lady who did a great job. I plan on having lawn aerated end of September.

Naturescape has been a value for us over the years. This year even in the drought our lawn continues to look pretty darn good. If they say they are coming they are there. If we call the office they address our concerns. Give them a shot and see for yourselves

Theyre work is bad. They dont cut the grass, they flatten it and next day its looking the same as when they started. I think its more about getting to the next job. $$$$

Referred by a neighbor with larger yard. Paid the same as him for 4 years and now they tell me they mismeasured and I should pay $100 more. Attitude was sorry, pay up until the district manager saw my review and was quite apologetic. Now another neighbor with smaller yard inquired and was given the +$100 price. My yard looks ok but not that great.

Do not use if you have pets Mom insists on using this service despite losing 3 dogs to cancer and 3 cats to poisoning, I hope to warn others. It is not safe regardless of how many days you they say to keep off after spraying.

My lawn looks great. Thicker and greener and getting better by the month. Great improvement over last year. Can t wait to see it this fall.

Naturescape in Janesville has provided Mosquito control and lawn treatments for the last 5 years on my yard in Brodhead. They are a fabulous company and have always been satisfied with their service. Employees are professional and provided excellent customer service. Our lawn has looked great every year and the mosquitos have not been around to bother us. If I have needed a re-spray, They are very responsive and have come out the next day to re-spray. If your in need of a great looking lawn or wanting to get rid of Mosquitos around your outdoor patio. Give them a try, you will not be disappointed.

Naturescape did my dads lawn, for fertilizing and mowing. After two years the lawn looks TERRIBLE!!!!!!! Thus they were FIRED!!! They tried to retain my dad and he said come and look at the lawn and he hasn t heard back. The guy who cut the grass would cut it way too short, one of the biggest donts in the business.

I have had my ash tree treated twice now by Naturescape in Janesville since purchasing my home. They are the most reasonable company in the area as far as pricing, and my tree is thriving.

Last Summer we had a new septic system installed and because of that , extensive excavation of our backyard. I had contacted Naturescape to aerate and over seed our entire yard. in the Fall. This Spring observed that the area that was excavated looked the same as last Fall , dirt and now overrun with weeds . It was obvious Naturescape did not aerate or over seed our lawn as agreed to and paid for. After many phone calls to Naturescape stating that we were very unsatisfied and requested they come out and fix it as per their guarantee noone showed up. If they had taken the time to come out and look at our property they would have seen the job was not done completely or professionally. How ironic that The Naturescape Guarantee states and I am paraphrasing If you are not completely satisfied with the results of your services or have any questions or concerns , We will be happy to take care of them free of charge within 72 hours . It has been weeks with no followup. Obviously, Naturescape does not stand behind their guarantee . As a result, Naturescape gets 1 star

The company contacted me and had a rep. come out and do our yard in just a couple of days. In talking with Craig he has insured us that the companys intent is to make sure we are satisfied with the service.

When they came to spray the yard they did it so fast that they missed a number of places and ruined part of the yard. We were told they would come to repair it this spring. They never came and dont respond to emails. Wont use them again. They did finally come and replace some sod. Well see how it grows. We appreciate them trying to make it right.

Naturescape does a great job of taking care of my 2 Lake Koshkonong properties. Ive noticed a difference in my lawn and in the quantity of mosquitoes since starting to use them. They are good about updating me of when theyll be at my properties! I highly recommend them.

Living across from a public park where no weed control is practiced. Our yard every spring has the pretty yellow and white flowers (Dandelions). So with there applications of weed control and fertillizer our yard is Green and Healthy.

I switched to Naturescape from TruGreen 2 years ago and all I can say is, What a difference. Naturescape is so superior there is almost no comparison. The phone representatives and onsite people are knowledgeable and polite. The quality of the work is excellent. All in all a great value. Ill be signing up for a 3rd year at the end of the month.

We were having some lawn issues with violets and crab grass. Called them and they came with the right formula to help the situation. We were worried about having things sprayed that were animal friendly. Their formula seems to handle both problems with one solution. They call me before they come over, so we can plan to allow the lawn to be cared for with minimum disruption to our puppies. Great people to work with on the phone and very helpful technicians.

I used this company last year and found them professional and responsive. This year they performed a couple services and by June my yard started looking dead in large spots throughout both the back and front yard. I watered daily and there was no improvement. Then I started to see crabgrass popping up too. I contacted them and talked to an office person and explained the situation. They told me I would hear from someone. A week went by and I heard nothing. I called back and was told someone would get back to me shortly. Another 4 days went by and no one contacted me. I cancelled the rest of my services immediately and went with their main competitor. Naturescape only refunded me the cost of the rest of my services, despite potentially ruining my yard. The new yard service took one look and said the dead spots were either caused by Naturescape using the wrong product or applying it at the wrong time. Edit: I am editing my score and explanation because since my review and cancellation I had the local manager come out to talk to me and I just had the more respectful corporate sales manager call me too. They offered a full refund or fall aeration service and I have decided to give them another chance. The follow up after the initial problems has been exemplary.

Been using them for years. Worse than charter. Every year the price goes up. This year they offer $20 off if I pay before the end of the year. Came out to $10 more than I paid last year. Lmao what a joke.

I called and requested service 5 applications. I never had applications done as of today but had many phone calls back and forth. I called to ask when someone would be out service should have been a month ago. I left a voice mail I received a call back from Carrie leaving a message that I havent had service since 2014. I called back got a voicemail again left same message when will someone be out to do first of five applications. VM back to me again that they did aeration in 10/14 if I ever needed any other assistance pls call back. I called and cancelled service Twice. Alexis calls to tell me they will be in my area do I still want them to come out!! I was just told my husband has an outstanding bill for seeding that was never done! Never received a bill. I wouldnt have someone come out to seed for $15.45 I would do it myself. Im Done Before they started. COMMUNICATION IS HORRIBLE

I hired this business about 2yrs ago. They fertilized & did weed control. Theyve been prompt in the applications...only once I had to have them come back for more weed control, I was so pleased that this year Ive hired them for BUG control.

After years of complete neglect, have this service for the first time. Theyve sprayed twice now and my grass is noticeably greener and healthier. No dandelions or thistles anymore! I fully expect continued improvement as the service continues. Staff is polite, and theyve been as prompt as possible considering the rainy spring and early summer we had.

The best mosquito defense system out there. We have used other companies and this has worked the best. They spray a liquid all over your property and even sprayed under our deck and into our woods. I would highly recommend NatureScape for Mosquito defense.

We ordered service on March 26 - finally cancelled it after being promised five times that they would come out. Never came out - never gave a reason why they could not come out, and did not really care about losing the business.

Upon returning from a week vacation and looking forward to grilling dinner while the kids played in the yard, I was confused why signs were in the front and back stating the yard had been sprayed at 3:00pm that afternoon. I have never paid for lawn service nor would I pay $179 for a second spring application at a full pound of N per 1K sq ft. I do not need to water that much with the heat we are having this year. 1/2 lb N per 1K is plenty in end of June/early July. After finding a bill on my door that was supposed to be applied to the same number house but a block over, I called and left a voicemail after hours. I never received a call back with an apology or a reasonable excuse nor what the company is doing to keep this from happening again. No one had the time to call me back and explain why, with the proliferation of cell phones, digital photos etc. they could still treat the wrong house. Im just glad I had not yet put down 1/2 lb N/1K sq ft. before this as it would have burned my lawn following their heavy dose with the summer heat. The kids got to play inside that night as they were not allowed on the lawn for 24 hours after horrendous chemicals had been applied. Thanks Naturescape! I never asked for it but you should showed me anyway!

What a disappointment! We used Naturescape out of Janesville for several years and received great service. For personal reasons, we stopped the service for two years and decided to begin using them again this year. I called the week before Memorial Day and asked to renew my weed control lawn service for 4 applications. I was assured that someone would be out within a two week time period. Three weeks later, no one had come. But in the meantime, I received a bill! So I called...explained that no one had been out as promised 3 weeks earlier and that I wasnt going to pay a bill for services I had not yet received. They apologized, said not to worry about the bill and put me on their urgent list, which meant that I would receive service within one week.That was the week that we had rain nearly every day so I gave them an additional week of grace. Still, no one came. So I called a third time, explained the situation and that it had now been 5 weeks since my original call and I had still not received service. Again, apologies and promises that someone would be out the next day (a Fruday) or the following Monday. I explained on this third call that this was their last chance. I felt I had been extremely gracious and forgiving until this point, and that if no one showed up again as promised, I would be done with them. Yesterday, three days after their final chance had come and gone, I made my fourth and final call to let them know they had lost my business and all potential recommendations (my husband builds homes all over Walworth County). Their response: Im sorry to hear that. Well take you off our service list as requested. We hope youll give us a chance again in the future. ARE YOU KIDDING? Clearly, whoever is running this company has no idea what theyre doing. Dont waste your time or money. I lost 6 weeks of my summer messing around with them. There are plenty of other companies that actually WANT your business.

I was using a competitor and saw that Naturescape was a little less in price for what I believed to be the same service. So I prepaid for the year for 5 services. I received our first service in late March. Their website said that the next service should be May to June. I noticed that I was starting to get weeds in my yard the last week of June, so I called. They had informed that I was in fact overdue for service and would be placed on a priority, someone would be there within 7 days. Seven days went by and no one showed up, called the next day and was told that I was scheduled for the next day. Day after that, no one showed. Called again and was told that I was in the schedule and she had no idea why service wasnt performed. She said I would be scheduled for the next day. Again, no one showed. Called again and was told tech works until 6:30 and he will be there. No one showed. That was Friday. He finally showed up Saturday afternoon. At this point I refused service because I was not going to continue working with a company that doesnt seem to care about their customers. I did receive an email from Naturescape stating that I would receive a refund, however, no apology or attempt to keep me as a customer. I called the company that I used last year and was scheduled and serviced within 3 days of my call. The grass is not always greener on the other side!

We have been using Nature Scape for seven years. Up to this year they came when they said they would and our lawn looked great. This summer I noticed many dandelions and other weeds popping up, so I called for a spot spray. They did not show for a week and a half, so I called again. They did not show on my next several promised days and finally came a week later. They were in our back yard for literally one minute, where most of the weeds are. My husband called them back to spray in a certain area and then the next minute we looked out there they were gone. I probably have 75 dandelions, along with other weeds and grasses, in my small city lot now two weeks after they supposedly spot sprayed. We used to lay our own fertilizer and had fewer weeds than this for a fraction of the price. Something has definitely changed with this company...very disappointed and will likely not use them next year.

They do not come out when they say they are going to, cheaper then Trugreen, but you get what you pay for.

Here its now weeks after i talked to head man of corporate and was told by him hed schedule an aplication this week tues for excessive weeds and out of control grass no call no show then come thurs night we were called by a guy tellimg us hed be coming out thurs evening had my son finish his water activities early as i didnt want him on the grass guess what no show again this is getting rediculous when youve talked to several of the head guys everythings a sorry and its sickening i want some refunded money for all the weeds this year and poor services there is more then likely not going to be a use of your services next year and im not the only one whos not happy with services this year!

I signed up for package in the spring for treatments and aeration, I had to ask for the aeration and make calls to get the treatments, it is the middle of August and so far only had 2 treatments all of which have made the my nasty lawn look even worse than it has in many years. DO NOT HIRE THEM

I am very dissatisfied with your company. I built a new house last summer and in the fall of 2016 I had sod laid. I called your company and they showed up to measure the beginning of March. They seen it was sod and it had not rooted very well and had seams. The gentleman that was here was very kind. Told me what they could do to help my sod along. He then told me, he would put me ahead on the list as he seen my yard needed the care. I sent my check to you on March 10th. I was told someone would be here within a week of his visit. It is now April 18th and still no one has been here. I called you guys last week. Was told someone would come right away. Still n o one has arrived. My yard cost me plenty. It is now being taken over by thistles. I wish I would of went with True Green. They have been in my neighborhood weeks ago. Not going to use you next year and will not recommend your services.

My neighbor uses this company. His lawn looks good I guess, however for 8 months of the year smells strongly of chemicals. The applicator always seems to come on the most windy days and the chemicals are blown directly into my windows. If a company is going to be this irresponsible with harmful chemicals they shouldnt be in business.

I just received a notice from Nature Scape asking us to sign up for fall services. Absolutely not!! We have paid in advance (because they give a discount) for the full spring and summer for the last 3-4 years. NO MORE this summer our lawn is full of weeds and I am embarrassed to tell anyone we use a lawn service for fertilizer and weed control.

We will not use their service again. We prepaid for the summer for lawn care and mosquito control. Weve had weeds in our lawn all summer. They are never consistent in spraying when they are suppose to. We would have to call or go into the office to get them to come out and more than half the time they wouldnt show. The mosquito control would work for about 2 weeks. When they were called to come back out, the girl in the office would say she would put in a work order but they never came out. We should have listened to all the other reviews but wanted to give a local business a chance. New management is desperately needed in order to keep this place in business.

Ive been using Naturescape for the last 2 years and plan to sign up again for next year. I used to do my own fertilizing/weed treatment on a very big lawn and still had a lot of issue with weeds. Where I live there is a big empty field next to it with all weeds in it and it carries the weeds over into my lawn. After using Naturescape I have no problem with weeds in the lawn anymore. Their products do a great job of keeping my lawn looking great!

My goal in this review is to be as fair as I can be considering the circumstances. Prior to living in my home the previous owners were not as obsessed with their lawn as I am. I had MANY weeds, a poor mix or bluegrass & ryegrass, and poor soil quality. The yard got little light and I had to do much seeding in the first year in the home. I hired Naturescape in the 2nd year of being in the home. It started fine but then got worse. I was very pleased with the mosquito treatments, but the lawn treatments were spotty. Large sections of the lawn would grow faster than others and in one treatment some areas of my lawn received too much fertilizer and killed some grass. It was at this point that I realized what kind of company I was dealing with. When I expressed my concern they tried to convince me that my lawn was in bad shape rather then take ownership of the issues. Management didnt call me back for 10 days. I only spoke with them after I called for follow-up. Things got a little better at this point until I wanted to schedule the remainder of my services for the late summer / early fall. I was hopeful that I could get things scheduled in the ideal order for an aeration and over-seeding without being impacted by the fertilizer treatments. Unfortunately this is where Naturescape dropped the ball completely. They told me that I could have services done in the order I wanted them to, but for some reason this didnt happen. In fact, everything was expedited. I received my aeration a month before I wanted it. And the process did damage to a couple of areas of my lawn that I was in the process of growing new seed. After this I decided to just cut my loses and move on. I called and cancelled my services for the remainder of the season. A week later they were back at my home and treating my lawn for a service that I had just cancelled. Luckily I was planning on applying my own treatment that weekend. If they had come the next week my entire lawn would have died. The staff were very nice in reviewing my concern and making sure that I wouldnt be charged for the service, but it still doesnt change the fact that a disconnect between the office and the techs in the field doing the work exists. In summary - if you are the kind of person that wants an average lawn, that will be free of most weeks, and be in pretty good shape most of the year you could probably use NatureScape. I am someone with a lawn that has a complex history and has VERY his expectations for what a lawn should be. As a result of this, NatureScape gets 2 stars.
