Since 1978, Cayuga Landscape Company has been a leader in creating stellar and sustainable landscapes in Tompkins County. We have one of the most complete garden centers in the Finger Lakes area. Our full staff of landscapers are eager to design your outdoor space, and our qualified horticulturalists are ready to answer your questions about plants.
We contacted them 2023 and we were told that cannot do it that year but would be happy to build patio in summer of 2024. Reached out to them in February 2024 to get in queue and we have been pushed back and back. After multiple emails that they would start in end of May and then June and later in July. They didn’t have the courtesy to let us know that they are not interested in doing any work. Extremely unprofessional! and now it is too late to contact any other landscape company. Would have appreciated a clear response from them.
I purchased all my garden plants, soil, etc at Cayuga Landscape. NEVER AGAIN! Not one more dime will I spend at Cayuga Landscape. David, the owner, deemed my landscape project too small to do. At my age, it isn’t too small. 18’ by 18’ sod removal. So you make $250 to $300 for two hours of work and you pay your help $15 to $20 an hour. Sorry YOU can’t make enough money.
Purchased mature tree and had delivered and planted. Very knowledgeable pleasesnt staff great selection of native plants and garden supplies
What a terrific selection of trees and perennials! This is my go-to nursery for one stop shopping.
Good selection of Iseli and Monrovia plants, prices actually on the lower end for retail! Kind and knowledgeable staff.
I bought a tree here and the staff were very helpful in loading it up for me and wrapping it to protect it from the wind, as well as telling me how to plant and care for it so it would grow well in my yard. They told me their plants are grown locally so they have a better chance of doing well in this area (rather than being imported from other facilities around the country)
It's very unfortunate -- this company does great work, when they show up. They have a lot of expert employees. But they don't show up. Last November, I specifically attempted to reserve my place in line for landscape restoration work in the spring. I said that money was no object but that it needed to get done promptly. After numerous excuses, they finally showed up in June after being called on the carpet. Then within less than a week they stopped showing up again. They just don't show up -- probably they're overbooking jobs, which they should not do. If you can get them to actually show up and do work, they do great work. But if you want the work done this year or next, you should hire someone who will actually show up.
My experience with Cayuga Landscape Company has not been good and I’m hoping it will end soon. It started last year when I called to hire them to seed part of the lawn, put in a new garden and refresh another garden. The landscape architect told me many times that they did not need my business and at one point admitted he had forgotten me (should’ve taken that as a hint, right?). He was having some health issues but good ideas initially so we moved ahead, slowly. When I would call with concerns about the progress of the job I would be put through to that same person and finally they moved ahead with the actual work. It seemed rushed, but the lawn looked okay and the new garden was nice. The garden that I wanted refreshed was just wrong – the wrong plan, the wrong plants (and it turned out actually the wrong garden, someone got what I wanted and I got what he wanted). Okay, so there was a problem and I called them to try to address it. I got excuses, guilt (because the landscape architect did truly have serious health issues) and a promise that they have a 1 year guarantee so I could call if there were issues this year. There are (the grass is patchy, most of the plants they put in one of the gardens did not come back) and I have called them. Over three weeks later (14 months from the start of everything) I am still waiting for a call back. So, don’t bother to call them – they don’t need your business, they don’t do a good job and they don’t honor their guarantee.

I phoned to ask about topsoil delivery that we need as soon as possible. No one was in the Garden Center so the woman who had answered the phone said she would transfer me to the managers voice mail and he will get in touch with you. I asked when he might get in touch (because if not today, we need not bother leaving a message). Her response was a very rude Sometime and then she hung up.
Dave and his team are really great. Excellent suggestions, great quality of plants. Pricing is very fair. I have used them exclusively to landscape around my home and farm.
Inspiring and unique landscape designs, attentive customer service and perfectly finished work that exceeds expectations every time! It is always a pleasure to work with David Fernandez and his creative team at Cayuga Landscape, who have completely transformed our surroundings to be aesthetically pleasing, safe and well lit, and whimsical and enjoyable for our family and friends. A lush, deer resistant, and low maintenance landscape strategy is possible even in our climate, with the expertise and caring work of the highly skilled team at Cayuga Landscape.
Great quality plants and guidance. Professional services also available, but they have supplies for do-it-yourselfers. Not the cheapest place in town, but wonderful selection and healthy plants.
Good variety and good advice.
Cayuga Landscape has been a long-time supporter of Ithaca Childrens Garden, a local non-profit that serves more than 54,000 visitors each year. In addition to sponsoring ICGs annual fall festival, Scarecrow Jubilee, Cayuga Landscape has been there since the beginning, advising on design and plant selection, ongoing plant care, and supporting ICG through our membership program. Not only do I like to patronize Cayuga Landscape because of their great plants, horticultural knowledge, and friendly customer service, I like to shop at Cayuga Landscape because I know my money gives twice; once to my own home garden project, and again to great community causes like Ithaca Childrens Garden. Thanks Cayuga Landscape!
