Helpful people, not a big selection but good looking trees
The managers are very difficult and arrogant. Particularly Chuck and Dina. The plants are ok but they are not going to be as nice the next year ( because they are artificially supported greenhouse/fertilizer ..) which is a problem because they will give you a very hard time if you try to return something and might not even accept a return ( they don’t follow their own policy).
The bald white guy, who I assume is the manager, is a creep. He made my shopping experience very, very uncomfortable. He constantly hovered around my spouse and I, and was staring at us the entire time we were there. If you've ever been around someone who's just... off, you'll know what I'm talking about. The store itself is nice. Expensive, but there were some good finds for decent prices. However, unless you want some random fifty-year old creep staring at you the entire time, don't take your business here.
very pretty store, good selection, friendly and helpful staff been on a hunt for evergreens the past few days (locally and online) and found some really nice ones here - bought 5 spartan junipers and one of them had a minor defect so the owner gave it to me for free. price was better than i could find elsewhere for similar trees, and only $20 for delivery. will definitely be coming back here for my gardening needs in the future.
We bought some trees and bushes-the wait to plant wasn’t long at all!! The people at the nursery who helped us were very patient and knowledgeable! The guys who came to plant were very friendly, professional, and efficient. Thanks for making it work for us!!
Well, let me tell you about my arrival last night. I showed up early for my appointment unlock the trailer, but before I could even rub the sleep out of my eyes the next morning, they were already unloading me! Can you believe it? I mean, it was actually pretty nice because I got to finish my break, Gotta give credit where credit is due, they were speedy and pleasant to work with. All in all, not too shabby of an experience
They are literally the nicest people ever! I'm a plant newbie and decided to finally get one, but it'd have to have lower light requirements and be safe for my cat. They were super kind, offered advice, helped me check and Google different plants, talked with me and overall provided great customer service while I wandered around for 2hrs! They also were kind enough to give me a little note to help take care of my new planet darling, and I felt so welcomed and comfortable there! Thanks guys!
We really liked shopping there and found a couple of plants we hadn't seen back around home that we bought. A lot of nice stuff inside the building as well. Definitely worth a look.
The indoor staff wasn t educated on the plants. Not very nice. Seemed like I was bothering them when they were just standing around. Probably won t go back.
The best place for gardening supplies, with a good variety of plants, flowers, and herbs. They have both outdoor and indoor plants, annual and perennials.

Looking for one particular plant that they dont have yet. Offered other options, but we will keep searching or stop back later on

Iowa City Landscaping did a fantastic job applying new mulch on our gardens. The team were prompt, paid attention to detail (spreading the mulch very evenly and neatly over the beds) and knowledgeable about landscaping. They explained why mulch was important, why we needed pre-emergent and provided recommendations about which plants we might consider to replace ones I was not happy with. I highly recommend their services.
The manager is a creep that makes inappropriate jokes and comments to young women and exhibits predatory behaviors. I worked there for a summer, reported it, and he still works there.

I have used Iowa City Landscaping for close to 40 years. When I was a newlywed, I wanted to do some planting. I made a list of the plants I wanted and went to several nurseries to compare prices and quality. ICL had the best quality and value. Though I try to do most of my own landscaping, I always call ICL for the larger jobs, such as pulling out old plantings and placing stone edging. Linda Dykstra is my go to for decisions about what to do. Paul and Joshua help plan. Ryan and Lucas came out and brought the plan to fruition. They were pleasant, hardworking and very kind. And our plantings are beautiful. Thank you ICL.

Great selection of plants especially roses. Knowledgeable, friendly sales staff. We bought a plant and through discernible fault of our own it died. We called and they handled the matter in a prompt and professional manner. Not that impressive on the surface but we only visited this business once and live across state. On the other hand they handled it like we lived around the corner.
Price for annuals is very high. Better place to shop for perennials than annuals

The Garden Center is nice and their nursery lot is stocked with high quality annuals and perennials (although a bit pricey). Their landscaping service, however, is sub-par. We had Iowa City Landscaping complete a small/medium-size landscaping job and were disappointed throughout the entire project. The project was almost 2 months late and the quality of work was well-below what would be expected from a professional landscaping service. We had to ask them to come back to fix portions of the project, and ended up having to re-do parts of it ourselves. We never received an apology. I recommend the Garden Center and Nursery, but definitely not the landscaping service.
The staff is so nice and helpful! They had exactly what we wanted and were very knowledgeable. The prices are great as well! We will definitely be returning

Totally ignored, unhelpful staff, and could not give any advice what so ever on herb plants or gardening. Just told to put it in the ground and fence it, really?!?
Always interesting to browse the isles and isles of plants. Just bought a piece of land and picked up a few trees from here, they delivered and planted them for us. One guy cut his hand pretty bad and had to go get stitches, but even came back from the hospital and finished the job! THATS service!

I enjoy shopping for plants here because the people are very knowledgable and if they dont know the answer they find someone who does. The free classes they hold are very helpful and relevant to the IC area. Ive bought trees, shrubs, annuals and perennials the quality of each is superior which makes me look forward to the end of the season sales The plants usually just need a little more TLC.
