Smith services my HOA community Mulberry Village. As of this review it’s been two weeks since the lawn at my house has been mowed. When they mowed last- they missed a large strip of my lawn. Not the first time that has happened. They were here late last week but only did about a third of the HOA property- my property was not mowed.
This review is from the perspective of both resident co-chairmens of Park Pointe Village (PPV) Landscaping Committee and not necessarily other stakeholders. PPV (the actual customer), is a large, multifaceted facility requiring a variety of knowledge and skill sets. Working in our environment is like balancing a three legged stool, PPV Management, Smith as a full service contractor, and a resident landscaping committee. Coordinating with and between all three is a complex task. Smith has handled that better than we would have anticipated. We have found Smith to be well intended and conscientious about fulfilling its obligations and in some cases beyond. They are conscious about providing as a high a quality service as possible given the structure of their contract, budgets and the nature of the labor resources available. We will offer that one of the most important elements to us is timely and effective communications, which over the last year and particularly the last 6 months has improved significantly. Smith Grounds has had an excellent relationship with Park Pointe Village leadership and residents for many years. Terrible customer service. Called in on one of their drivers for cutting me off and got no response what so ever. Would definitely not recommend. Drive safe out there. Updated: Owner called and apologized and assured me he would talk to his driver and make sure things like this don t happen again. Really appreciate the time taken to correct the issue at hand.

Extremely professional
We ve been working with Ryan Owens and chip for some time now. I ve moved in to my neighborhood off of Regent Park. To be honest Smith Grounds has been the talk of the town, especially this year. Mistakes are made by employees but they rectify issues immediately and provide a prompt response on needs. I appreciate the proactivity of Ryan our manager as well. I sit on the board of Mulberry Village HoA and would be hard pressed to find a better deal and service. Thanks guys. Our grass is looking great this year!

Lack of responsiveness. Left phone number with someone in office. Said would have project manager callback by next day and never received any type of communication it s been almost 2 weeks. Red flag for me.
For the past year we have used Smith Grounds Management for our landscaping maintenance at our business. They are the best! They keep everything looking great including mulching and adding seasonal flowers. I highly recommend them!

Horrible company
I haven t seen a technician like Zo ( pretty sure that s his name ) work so hard and thorough. He fixed my irrigation and my neighbors irrigation, double checking the work, Adjusted sprinkler for my flowers. Very polite young man . Very happy with the work !!
Smith grounds management has a 2.2 Google review and there are ample reasons why. They service the Crismark community in Indian Trail and do a sub standard job at best. They have no apparent quality management plan which leaves common areas looking neglected and sick. It is very clear that the groundskeepers lack leadership and training which is evidenced in the work they perform. I ve actually watched them absolutely destroy entire common areas by using weed eaters cutting the grass down to the roots. They also regularly neglect common areas leaving the grass growing 6 inches high and failing to blow leaves on a regular basis. This leaves those areas dead and dying due to the neglect. Overall they just do a terrible job. Anyone with a quality management background would be on site regularly to assure a certain standard. Obviously this isn t the case because Ray Charles could see the problems. If you are looking for a grounds management company to service your community I would steer clear of Smith s. It s very obvious they are way over their heads.

Josh and the folks at Smith Grounds Management went WAY above and beyond for me and my family. I can honestly say Ive never experienced better customer service than Smith Grounds gave us. Five stars hands down!
This company has horrible customer service when making a request while the company is on site, or at corporate. Besides the sloppy job, the company refused to address a problem with the shrubs, they created. This a management problem, not the hard workers who only do what they are told. Have no idea how they can keep a contract with Raintree. I hope the company responds to this post.............
I am pushing to have my HOA hire a DIFFERENT company because they are a TOTAL JOKE. I cant understand how any HOA would hire these clowns to maintain the property. They have absolutely no common sense and lack the basic communication and reasoning skills in regards to landscaping. They have completely ignored multiple verbal complaints that I have made about the edging of my driveway that has now caused a muddy mess and runoff during summer thunderstorms. The level of service they provide is very unsatisfactory and an insult to a homeowner who is paying for their contracted labor.
The lady answering the phones is really rude and will hang up on you for only asking a question. What the heck? How are people like that allowed to be a face of your business? I was looking to gone them some business but there is zero chance of that now. There are plenty of other options out there.
These guys are the worse I ever seen care service is a BIG JOKE. Blow grass and dirt all over cars and just very poor service.
zero stars was not allowed so i was forced to give them one. they are terrible. its like having a band of gorillas loose on the property. they create more new maintenance than they solve.
Large plots of land at a fast pace. Nothing else good can be said. There is zero attention to detail; poor follow through, poor quality, and poor service all around.
When asked to assist another local Indian Trail business with lot clearing/snow removal services they were not willing to provide as needed or one-time service to assist another business. Instead you have to establish a lawn maintenance contract with them for these services. In a day when people and businesses put the all mighty dollar over customer service or even being a good neighbor, its not surprising to find that Smith Grounds Management displays the same lack of service values as many others. Sad. You think theyd realize that the best way to generate new business or to gain access to potential new clients would be to be flexible and willing to help others in need. However, it seems you have to be under contract to get any help from them. Do you really want to do business with a company that is so inflexible and has to have you locked-in under contract before they are willing to assist? I know I dont - and I wont. And Ill be sure to let other area businesses know this as well.
