Zero for professionalism. I gave these guys TWO chances to come out for an estimate based on the good reviews on Google but I suspect many are bogus. Both times no one showed up, no one called or texted to say why they werent coming or to reschedule, nothing. There is no way they are a 4.9 out of 5 star company!!!

Ricardo and his team were very fast and efficient putting a French Drain around our house, would definitely work with them again!

We contracted with Best Landscape & Construction to install three drains in our yard. One was installed properly and the other two were installed too high to have any real impact. On a subsequent visit we requested them to come out and review the incorrect drains as well as quote on additional work. When they saw the incorrectly installed drains they acknowledged they were not at the right height and that they would correct their error. When we decided to not go ahead with the other work they became non-responsive to our requests to fix the two incorrect drains. I cannot recommend this business.

I had Best Landscaping come out to quote a patio replacement and a new shed base. They have a ton of experience and suggested a great solution for my space. I needed the patio slope re-graded away from the foundation and a level base built into a slope in a narrow corner of my yard. They were willing to work with my housing co-ops permit system and rules, provided lots of documentation, started work promptly, always cleaned up tidily, and were polite even when one of my neighbors decided to be rude. I work odd, long hours and I found them incredibly responsive to texts and requests for meetings around my schedule. I wish working with contractors was always this easy. My neighbors (the friendly ones, anyway!) have all complimented me on how it looks. Ill be recommending Best Landscaping & Construction to anyone looking for outdoor work done impeccably (and insured and licensed).

I especially liked the fact that this company did a good job of communicating. I was notified promptly when the start of work would be delayed and why. They responded to queries and finished the project in a timely manner. I was very satisfied with the finished product and would hire them again.

Im excited about my new backyard Patio. Abel and his team did a good job. However they did not honor the 1 year warranty. I called after Abel tirelessly to come back and re sand patio. He also offered me a discount to seal my patio if I gave his company a good review. Which I didnt mind because I was pleased with the outcome. I held up my end, he did not so Im have edited my review of Best Landscaping. So Im re-editing my review of Best Landscaping. Which was not because of workmanship because my Patio turned out great. I had an excellent experience with Abel and his team. When we hired this company, we wanted to solve some water issues (my backyard flooded constantly) and we wanted to have a nice place for the kids to play and to hang out. We cannot be happier with the results. This project involved (1) demolition of existing patio and retaining walls, (2) regrading, (3) a new retaining wall and (4) a new patio. As I said, their work was amazing, their prices are good/fair, and I would like to highlight three positive things about this company: (1) they started and finished on time (or close to), which I thought was impossible to find in a contractor. (2) They were very patient and flexible with my work. Given that this was a big project, we had to adjust our plan a couple of times, as we found new issues and understood the water problems better. (3) and definitively not least, this company takes customer satisfaction seriously. This project took place in August 2020, but Abel is still calling me (as of March 2021) to check that everything is working for me. In those phone calls, I have mentioned some details about the work (minor things that are expected in projects are big as mine), and Abel has not hesitated to send someone to fix those small things at no cost (he actually gave me mulch last time he came). This experience me me feel very confident about the quality of their work. In summary, I am very happy to recommend best landscape & construction. A high quality company with good prices that takes costumer satisfaction seriously.

Abel Rivas re-did our patio in our DC rowhouse and his work was superb! He and his team took out concrete and installed beautiful, ecologically-friendly permeable pavers that look and work great. We are so happy with our newly expanded patio. Best Landscaping did a phenomenal job with the design, planning, and installation of our patio, as well as a drainage system to stop flooding in our backyard. The contractors always showed up on time, and left the job site clean at the end of the day. From the start of the project, everything went very smoothly. I was given a very competitive estimate, and the company was always quick to respond when I had questions or concerns. The owner, Abel, was wonderful. He called and checked in often with the builders, and made sure things were going smoothly. When it turned out that we were going to have to make some additional changes, the change in pricing was very fair. When some materials were unavailable due to Covid, Abel worked hard to make sure we were happy with the substitutions. Since the french drain installation, we have had no problems with runoff and flooding. Cant say enough positive things about Best Lansdcaping - 5 star high quality construction and 5 star communication and customer service!

Able and his crew recently tore down and built up a new retaining wall and steps at my home. Able detailed for me the work that needed to be done and gave me a fair price. He explained I needed a french drain and regrading of the hill behind the wall. His men were hard workers and respectful, answering my questions. Able came out several times to oversee the progress of the work. They cleaned up all the debris. The wall and steps are beautiful. I highly recommend Best Landscape and Construction.

Abel and his team did a great job on our recent landscaping project. We live in a DC rowhouse, and they transformed both the front and back of our home, including installing artificial turf, a patio, rock gardens, and a brick walkway to the front door. Not only was the work done well, but Abel also assisted with the design process throughout. When there were small changes we wanted to make during the project, he accommodated our requests without issue. His team also completed an indoor tiling project for us, which turned out very well. We recommend Best Landscape & Construction and would work with them again.

Best Landscape & Construction just completed a project at my house earlier this week; they put flagstone over my concrete sidewalk. They were timely, professional, cleaned after themselves, and did an excellent job. So many of my neighbors were impressed my their job and now I have the best curb appeal on the street (LOL). I also appreciate how responsive the owner of Best Landscape & Construction, Mr. Abel Rivas, was. The paving project was delayed about a week, but he remained in constant contact with me. Wasn t sure where to find a contractor for my patio project. Consulted a trusted supplier of patio pavers who recommended Abel Rivas / Best Landscape Construction. Abel visited the site and replied quickly with a proposal. He was patient as I changed color schemes and modified plans. The job was started and completed when promised. He had all of the needed equipment and skilled workers who made sure everything including slope and curved borders were just right. The finished patio is perfect.

I needed the steps replaced on my brick-covered concrete front stoop. The original brickwork was laid over pre-existing concrete which left a little too much space at the base of the bottom step. The first solution had been to add a 2 high step to prevent us from breaking our teeth when we reached the ground with an unexpected drop. Fast forward a couple decades - Abels crew easily corrected this issue with a slight incline instead. Steps look great, I know the concrete is solid and will hold for years, and there will be no more jokes about the tiny step. Thank you to the skilled men who addressed this, and to the guys who cleared out the pile of broken concrete and unneeded pavers I inherited from my dad.

We hired Abel and his crew to install artificial turf in our backyard. We were so impressed with the finished project that we hired them to extend the turf, build a firepit, install a dry river bed and stepping stones, and plant river birch, wild flowers and native plants which will be in full bloom next spring. They completed each project on time, cleaned up after themselves and made sure we were totally satisfied with everything. Best Landscape & Construction truly transformed our backyard and would highly recommend them.

Abel and his team were great. They transformed our totally derelict-looking patio into something beautiful and big and all the while being extremely budget-friendly. He was responsive, thorough and I would absolutely work with them again!

Abel reaches out to me right away after I submitted an inquiry through the website. He gave me a rough estimate by email. Then, he met me the next week to give me a formal estimate. He had an opening in their schedule and got the work started 2 days later and completed 3 days later. The work included grading and creating a large flower bed, fixing a retaining wall, patching and repairing two large stone planters around trees, and repairing my badly cracked driveway. Abel was a great communicator, and his employees did great work quickly. I will definitely hire them again in the future should I need more help with masonry or landscaping.

Abel and his team just renovated my entire Capitol Hill backyard (new Trex deck, permeable patio, landscaping and fence). He stuck to his estimate and timeline and managed to finish my project a week earlier than promised. As another reviewer said Abel has great communication skills and constantly kept me up-to-date on progress and changes. We are pleased with the work that Best Landscape and Construction Co did for us. We live in the Capitol Hill Historical District, and job involved repaving the brick walkway to the front of our house in order to eliminate the pools of water forming during heavy rains. The walkway was raised and our old bricks were reused, as required by the Building Permit we had to get from the City. Mr. Abel Rivas, the owner of Best Landscape, is a personable and competent young man. We found it easy to work with him, and he had good design suggestions and kept us informed about possible delays, etc. We plan to hire him for other jobs in the spring.
