I paid $9986.78 in total to this company to divert rain water runoff away from undermining my driveway concrete. This debacle began on 5/27/2021. They dug a diversion ditch and drainage pipe. Since then the driveway continues to have significant rain drainage undermining the concrete. I called them repeatedly and left messages. THEY NEVER CALLED BACK. The owner is said to be one JACOB LOVITT, according to a man who called to solicit our business recently. Again, I asked for this person to call and he has not. This is ridiculously poor performance. Now, Im going to have to do something else to divert the rain drainage, but my trust in these kinds of businesses is zero. Do not use the veterans Lawn Care. THEY ARE CROOKS!! See photo below made on 1/21/2024. The drainage is unchanged. P.S. If youre such an upstanding member of the business community, why havent you returned my many phone calls over the last three years. Also, your defence is sophomoric, deluded, and false. If I had heard the pre-operative pitch that you claim to have made, I would have never spent $9000 for the non-repair. The driveway water drainage was the ONLY reason you had been called. No one, in their right mind, would have spent the money for this non-fix Duh!!! I never EVER met the owner.

Nathan and Seth spent a very hot full day cleaning debris, trimming bushes, and laying pine straw on a steep hill. They did wonderful work and cleaned the steps and driveway before leaving. I highly recommend.

Jesse and his crew came out and turned our front yard from drab to fab in two days. It looks like a brand new house. Cant thank the guys at Veterans Lawn Care and Landscaping enough for all their hard work.

I think the workers are dedicated and did a good job. However, I had a bad experience with their work versus what I asked to be quoted and I wound up paying a whole lot more than I expected and got much less than I expected. Be sure to get an absolute line item quote with everything in writing!! Sometimes the salesmans understanding is not the customers and guess who loses big time?! PS This is being revised months later. Originally, this company quoted doing my lawn but somehow decided that I only wanted a part of the lawn sodded with Bermuda so they left over half in fescue. Now it is the following spring and other lawn companies say thats totally unworkable so I now have to have sod on the rest of the lawn or dig up what veterans did and plant fescue. My association with Veterans has cost me $7,000 and now the shoddy work needs to be dug up. Dont use these people

Came and did an excellent job on a very short notice. Had a BDay party on Saturday and did not want a mud pit in the front yard. Veterans Lawn Care came in and got ur dun, and did a great job.

The crew cut down 4 Bradford Pear trees and cut some broken limbs on a Silver Maple tree and their safety was excellent and also cleaning up the work site was impeccable. I will definitely use their services again.

If you don t have a good idea how much a job will cost, ALWAYS get more than one quote. The quote I received from this company was more than double I received from other companies. And the other companies were more thorough with their quote, pointing out the issues with the quote I received from this company. While I cannot provide feedback on their work since I used someone else, I can say to make sure you know you re paying a fair price.

This company had the audacity to show up at the wrong house, dig out a strangers plants, then when confronted by the owner of the wrong house, let them know they would need to pay for the plants and work done (the work they did without confirming whether or not the yard was the actual customers) and that they may be able to go back to a dumpster and retrieve the plants they tore out of the ground. Not only did this company mention the person needed to pay for the mistake the company did for some other customer, they had an attitude about the situation. Resummarizing: They have a customer at ABC Road, they show up at XYZ Roads house when they arent home, tear up their front yard and the bushes/flowers planted there, toss those in a dumpster, put new bushes/flowers/trees down and when they find out its not the customer at ABC Road, they give the person an attitude and tell them they need to pay *full price* for the plants that they planted in their yard by mistake. That is the worst experience I have ever personally witnessed. If you make a mistake, you dont charge them for the mistake, you make it right AT COST TO YOU.

Veteran s Lawn Care was amazing! They were extremely helpful and efficient. Malu, Jake, Nathan, and Jorge did a beautiful job with our landscaping and sod installation. We will definitely be using them for all of our landscaping needs.

Every interaction with the Veterans team was a pleasure and I cannot say enough good things about them. Malu and his team absolutely killed our backyard renovation and kept the project clean and tidy as it progressed! When they came up short on the amount of top soil required based on their estimate they made up the difference with no up charge. They were very professional, thorough, and offered great advice on the project. We had shrubs, lava rock, blocks, and a small tree in our front landscape that was in bad repair and needed to be replaced. The first team led by Carlos came in and removed the tree, blocks, lava rocks, and a few shrubs in order to build a patio and a new retention wall of brick. Carlos and his team did an outstanding job. Next came the team led by Malu. They removed all the remaining shrubs and lava rock and then proceeded to build the beds back up with new soil. Weed protection was installed, new plants were put in, and mulch was added. Malu and his team also did an outstanding job. I would recommend this company to anyone looking for landscaping work at their home or business.

VLC did a tremendous job removing red clay from my wife s four raised beds and refilling with amended topsoil. Great work ethic, tremendous attention to detail, super service.

He kept me informed via text messages of when to expect the crew and did not hesitate to answer my questions or direct me to the appropriate person. Project manager, Randy, scheduled my project promptly and provided an adequate crew to complete the project in a timely manner. Project leader, Jesse, was assigned my project. Veterans repaired a portion of my lawn severely rutted by a delivery driver who decided it was ok to turn around in my yard after several days of heavy rain. They removed damaged area releveled and placed new sod. Did a great job.

Jacob not only showed up on time for the estimate he went the extra mile to answer a few other questions I had about some of the plant/weeds that were in the yard. I initially called for brush removal and Jacob didnt push for more services he actually said the tree I asked about taking down could make it at least another 2 maybe 3 years. He was able to schedule the maintenance I needed within the tight time line I had. When Jesse and Dominick arrived on the scheduled day, they introduced themselves to let us know they had arrived. They went right to work and were very professional and courteous. Jesse also went the extra mile and answered all my questions and took the time to also show me the things I asked about. I am so grateful to all of these gentlemen and will use them again in a heartbeat if needed. My Aunt Darlena and I are loving the great new view!!! (Yes, we had the tree taken down) Thank you for a job very well done!

Dewayne and Cordule did a great job on my hard scrape. It looks great. However it has been 8 months since the work was completed with putting in a French drain, sodding, and irrigation repair. I spoke with Jacob in Oct of 2021, whom assured me that he would come back out March of 2022 to correct the issues of not putting enough dirt where they dogged up my yard. They also need to come back and re-sodded and fix the sprinkler line that wasnt buried. I have called and email since March. Then I was told I had an appointment for April 22. I call ed to confirm on April 21 and was told I had been rescheduled but no one called or communicated a date or time. I have emailed and called over 4 times in the last week and got on response. Update: They came out and corrected my yard which looks much better. Joe the office manager was very responsive and good to work with doing that cumbersome time.

Had an extremely large tree removed from backyard, surrounded by other tress, towered above a shed, sailboat, dog kennel, and above ground pool. Jesse and his team did an outstanding job bringing the tree down piece by piece missing every obstacle. I covered my pool with the leaf net expecting the pool to be full of leaves and debris and was amazed to have only 5 leaves in the pool. They were professional, polite, on time and cleaned up the yard even though they knew it was going to be dug up by a different septic company. Will definitely use them again.

He made good suggestions, was patient with our decision making, promptly provided a very clear written proposal with reasonable costs based on our budget, and best of all sent a great team of three young men who promptly turned three neglected and weed-ridden flower beds into two neat and tidy front gardens and a patch of lawn that looked like it had been there all along instead of the ugly patch of cannas planted by the previous owner. We used Veteran s Lawn Care for a huge backyard project. We had installed a pool and we needed to have our irrigation system repaired, sod laid down and a flagstone path created. Charles Team is who did our project and they were amazing!! We had constant communication through the entire process. The guys were all super polite and friendly and they did an excellent job! > I believe this company needs to improve its customer communications policies. They showed up late (without calling) to give me an estimate, and then showed up unannounced the day they came to work. But then things took a surprising turn.. > They were hired to fell one tree and heavily trim the lower branches of another. To save money and to give me a project involving strenuous exercise, they were not required to do any cleanup work. When they asked about my cleanup plans, I mentioned using my ATV trailer to move the debris to the street for pickup by the city. At their suggestion I moved the trailer into the work area. Suddenly the logs and branches magically found their way onto the trailer until it was full, with the remainder piled neatly nearby. Despite not being paid for it, they worked hard to minimize the cleanup work remaining for me, a fat 74 year old retired soldier. > It was also interesting and entertaining to watch their tree climber work. He knew exactly where and how to make cuts to have the pieces fall right where he wanted them. And while 20+ feet up into the tree being trimmed, he asked me over and over what else I wanted cut. He never suggested being done until I was satisfied. > Finally, when the work was done, they did a last minute walk-around to check for any tools left behind, and to pick up more debris so I wouldnt have to. > The teams work (and work ethics) more than made up for the early communications problems. I highly recommend Veterans Lawn Care for lawn and tree work.

These guys are awesome. Highly knowledgeable, professional, hard working and a heck of a lot of fun to watch if you have the free time. I had an oak tree that needed to come down. It was between the house, a garage and a driveway with a fence right under it. They had to take the whole tree down in pieces. It was a 3 day process. I would recommend them for any difficult task because, THEY ARE UP TO IT!

Installed a French drain and restocked a flowerbed with new topsoil. Installed shrubs. Shortly after the shrubs were installed I asked them to take a look at one that looked like it was not going to make it. Shortly meaning a few weeks after. These were full grown very expensive shrubs and theyve ignored my calls for almost a year now.

The team did a great job of cleaning out the flower beds, pruning bushes, removing the ivy and overgrowth. I really appreciated them asking questions and making sure I was happy with the work being done. I will be using them again and recommend them to others. Positive

Excellent service, We had a tree removed. (Close to house, dying, hard to get to). Veterans Lawn Care came out for inspection, saw its condition and worked to get us in quickly. Inspector said maybe 10 days out, the team was here 2 days later. The team did so much. They worked extremely hard, managed a fence, protected the lawn and house, and even cleaned up the extra debris around the property. They worked hard for around two days to handle a tough situation, and did it without even bothering the pets. I also want to mention their great business service. We called, the office, who knew the schedule of the inspectors, set an inspection time and even told us who it was. The inspector came out and was exactly in the 1 hour time window. Plus, he called ahead to ensure we knew he was coming. Inspection was quick through, with suggestions for how to handle the whole process, from access to tree all the way to the process of removal and hauling it off. Really couldnt give them a better review. Almost every other service we contacted didnt even show up for inspection. Those who did, seemed like a guy and a chainsaw. Overall A+++ to Vererans Lawn Care and its crew.

Quickly provided a quote, got a date on the books after bugging them for a few weeks. Come the day before, I call and didn t get any response. I took off a day from work to ensure they could do all they needed, they didn t show up. Horrible experience, wasted months of our time.

Requested and had a service completed at my home to remove shrub stumps from my backyard. I came to find that two shrub stumps were not removed. I sent an email stating the fact, did receive a call back and they informed me that they were very busy, but would receive a call back. I had no issues with this whatsoever. Then doing some more investigation the next day, I came to find that there was now FIVE shrub stumps that were not removed. I then again sent an email, and this go around, no response via email or phone call for over three days. I was already geared to continue with my project that week when I identified, with river bed rock already delivered and dumped in my driveway the week I identified the stumps that were remaining. I just simply laid the landscape fabric down over the stumps followed by the rock to complete my rock bed project. As a veteran myself, I am really bummed about all of this. I was planning to use them again to get trenches installed on the side of my house, but do not plan to anymore.

Large project requiring two crews of people. Hard workers with attention to detail. Small miscommunication that resulted in a quick response from the company and a fix shortly after.

Veterans Lawn Care is fabulous!!! We have had them cut down trees, trim bushes, remove leaves and they have been spraying for weeds for a couple of years. They do an excellent job and always come when they say they are. They are professional and friendly and can do everything from planning you landscape design to cutting your grass!

I inquired into their services recently and was told that they wont be able to service my yard due to not being able to utilize push mow in the back yard of about 25x25 size, not very large at all. I asked/called (repeatedly) for a rep to come out and get with me to get an estimate, I wasnt even sure it needed to be pushed at all I just assumed given my gate size. I wanted someone, a supposed professional, to tell me what they thought. However, after just simply driving by quickly out front of my yard they surmised (and didnt actually call to follow up) that they wouldnt be able to service my yard. It must be nice that you have plenty of business that you can not only turn away potential new customers but also treat them poorly with poor follow through and lackluster effort. I understand the eb and flow of your operations and how you cant push mow entire yards. I wasnt sure that it required that and if it did I would of possibly still been interested in the front yard being serviced which can be completed with a riding mower. You should evaluate your business operations and how you portray the business as a veteran ran organization (with Im assuming good order and discipline, integrity, and work ethic) because I dont see that in your company right now. Again to be clear your representative that stopped by rolled by for 20 seconds (we are all working from home and I watched him) and surely couldnt have gathered a full sight picture. Which is weird because I asked your office rep if I could safely talk with him (at distance) and was told that wouldnt be an issue, clear lack of follow through there as well. Also, I was interested in other services your company might have provided but in light of this entire process lacking professionalism and follow through I wouldnt be confident in ANY work you could provide. You (the owner) should take a reflective look at your operation, from the person that takes the calls to the rep that spent 20 seconds here from the road, and see where to improve.

Josh and his crew came out 21 April 20 to install our flagstone patio and walkway and did a great job! The crew even gave us ideas for plants to put around our new patio. From start, with speaking to Amanda to finish with meeting Jacob as he did his final check on the project, was an easy and professional process. Veterans lawn care is by far the best lawn care company I have dealt with. Their employees are very courteous and through. After mowing they clean the side walks and then follow up to make sure we are satisfied. They also have cut some trees for us and disposed of the debris and then raked the surroundings. Love their work ethic.

I am not one to leave reviews for anything but my situation warrants sharing for anyone searching for lawn service. On 3/30/20 they mowed my lawn when it was too wet and left ruts in my lawn, my neighbors lawn and damaged my fence and down spout. They did eventually come out to sod the ruts however my fence and downspout have not been fixed and have since stopped communicating. 4/13/20 - received an email stating that they have the damage report and are working on fixing it 4/27/20 - I offered to take care of the damage myself if they would mulch and/or lay sod in bare areas of my back yard. My offer was declined and again said they would repair the fence and downspout. 4/30/20 - scheduled to make repairs on 5/5/20 5/5/20 - no show with no communication until I asked why they didn t come. Told they did not come due to rain and rescheduled for 5/13/20. 5/12/20 - sent text asking if they were still planning to come and never replied. 5/13/20 - no show with no communication - Followed up with a phone call a few weeks ago (don t recall the date) and was told I would get a call back to reschedule the work. It is now 6/7/20 with no call back and no repairs

I spent 2000.00 with these people last year to have bushes removed, new ones installed and to have a tree removed and replaced. They require that they choose the items you want. The crepe myrtle they installed in my yard last year is nothing but tree stems this year. I have called several times and was told by Amanda she would have Micheal come by at a specified date and time and look at everything and discuss it with me . On the scheduled day, i received a Health Check email from Amanda explaining that Micheal had come by earlier than anticipated and then she went on to explain what he found regarding my tree and the bushs. First off, if he came by, i did not know anything about it because he surely did not ring my doorbell; Secondly, if he did come by, he trespassed onto my fenced in backyard to look at the tree. I find this highly unacceptable. When i called these people last year, the owner Jacob came out, whom i consider the money man. i explained to him that i dont have a green thumb at all and need some kind of consultation regarding what i need to do to get my yard up to speed. All he proceeds to do is write down how much everything is going to cost me without allowing someone who knows about horticulture to come out and discuss with me first about what would be the proper plants i need based on my unique environment. Needless to say, im back at the drawing board, trying to find a landscaper who will listen to my cries of help and actually help me. I certainly will not spend another dime with these people at Veterans Lawn Care!!

This business bills for lawncare services they don t provide! They are weeks behind on lawn services, they do a horrible job edging and miss huge patches of grass. The receptionist is a horrible person, she s nasty and rude to customers who call with questions about missed and scheduled services. Once she found out I was a Veteran she knew she couldn t use the Veteran card as a crutch and an excuse for a poorly run business. They make excuse after excuse because they can t keep up with their clients or even keep a schedule. Get your lawncare from any other provider!

The guys showed up and completed the job way faster than we could have ever expected. not only did they complete the job quickly, they were professional and efficient. They also did a heck of a clean-up job! Update 5/11/20: We initially gave them 5 stars because we thought they ground the tree stumps, per the estimate they gave, but their clean-up job actually just consisted of them putting a lot of brush over the stumps instead. We went out a couple of weeks later to work on leveling the area and realized that all three tree stumps were still there. I have sent an email and called and left a voicemail, and have heard nothing back from the company. I understand that companies get busy during this season but they responded rather quickly to secure the job and arent responding at all now to complete it and its quite frustrating. All I want is for them to complete the work they were paid to complete. Doesnt seem like too much to ask. Update 7/1/2020: We are still waiting for our stump grinding that was supposedly scheduled a month ago. Every time we call, we are told that we are on the stump grinding list, as if our job that has already been paid for does not take precedent over new jobs that are bringing in new income. Very disappointing to say the least. 7/2/2020: We were able to have the stump grinding completed today and everything looks much better. I believe that the coronavirus situation threw everything off and, with that being said, the company does do quality work. I do believe, however, I will wait until things are relatively back to normal before thinking about reaching out for any additional services.

Today was the first cut and it looks fantastic! Update: The last cut for my grass was back on 5/22. As of 7/11, they have not been to cut the grass. That is over a month and a half with no cut. I understand that there was some rain in June, but this is ridiculous. I m not sure if they have too many customers or just forget my lawn. At first, back in June, I thought I missed an invoice and inquired about that. I didn t get a direct answer, just that they were behind due to rain. This is unacceptable service.

Re-sodded the front yard, removed all the existing shrubbery, grinded three stumps, and planted knew shrubbery in the front. Excellent service the entire time. All crew members were professional and personable. Communication from the office was clear and honest. For being a busy and weather dependent business they started and completed the job in a timely manner. It is admirable that the owner of the company came and worked for a full Saturday with his crew to ensure completion of our yard. I would highly recommend this company.

First, I had tried contacting several lawn services to get estimates on my yard and even made plans with no- shows. Veterans Lawn Care was professional, timely, answered my questions, and gave me what I was wanting. Michael was great in planing out the landscape, and each crew that came out to complete the project worked hard and were friendly and professional. They even came out on a Saturday to complete the project. My husband and I were happy with the services.

Initially I had issues with the terrain sloping that was done on our French drain. Many delays in getting back, some of which were due to Covid crisis. In the end, Randy and Erick came out and did a superb job. Very pleased.

We asked for help in deciding and placing the best trees to create a more private space in our back yard. Veterans Lawn Care walked us through the options, help us make the best choice and delivered an amazing outcome. The trees are beautiful and exactly what we were hoping for. Their professionalism was outstanding and we appreciate their expertise and care. Thank you!

My yard was a jungle/disaster when I called these guys. They came and got everything looking tidy and sharp, and it was so fast! I felt cared for the entire time the guys were here, and they obviously take great pride in doing excellent work. I m so glad I went with Veteran s, and I ll be calling them for more work in the future. Excellent job.

1) Guy who answered my initial call didn t realize he d already answered, and I heard him angrily cursing yet another phone call before he greeted me. 2) Hired this company for a bi-weekly service. Said they did my area on Friday only, and they didn t do make-ups for rain. Ok, cool. 3) They never showed. First Friday, no rain, no mow. Second Friday, no rain, no mow. They didn t get a third Friday. 4) Gave 2 stars for being vet owned

They were supposed to show between 1pm and 3pm. My spouse put off what she was doing because this is the time they specified. They no-showed. When my wife called for an explanation, the lady told her that she will get a call back with an explanation. Dont bother, because there isnt an explanation for no-showing and not calling. Will stick with who we have been with.

Just bought a new home in Athens and needed help getting the landscaping and yard squared away. Called a few of the top rated companies on google and could not get a call back. Then Tahj and Pedro rolled by the house one day and handed me a pamphlet. I called them up and Mike responded quickly. Amanda at the office made the scheduling and transaction a breeze. Tahj and Dan started work promptly the day of the project and hammered out most of the clean out before lunch. After lunch Eric and Pedro joined the team and the entire crew finished the job. In 10 hours they had completely cleaned out and dug-up/removed the weeds and 12 over grown bushes from the front, back, and side beds, removed 5 stumps, cleaned out an over grown play area and had taken out 2 dying trees. By night fall, they had the yard mulched and ready for phase 2 - replanting in the spring. The following morning Tahj dropped by to mow the grass and edge the entire property, just as he had promised. You can tell Tahj gave a damn, and treated the place like his own. Eric brought the knowledge and had no problem answering my questions about plants and things while they worked. Pedro kept them honest, while Dan provided the laughs. As a veteran I appreciated that from all the guys. The price was fair for the work performed and worth every penny to us. Thank you guys for your service and for the service. Look forward to the next few phases in the coming months.
