TruGreen Lawn Care in Houston

I like the advance telephone call that notifies me that a service will be performed. This is important to me because I can make sure that the tech has access to the back yard. The TruGreen website is also important to me. I can read the history and current record of the treatments that have been performed. Payment is also easy and convenient on the website. I understand that the service tech decides what fertilizers and chemicals to use based on the lawns current condition. Id like to see some information on the website that informs me of how a service tech makes the treatment decisions.

Great service, professional, timely, with constant communication; text, email, telephone.

Update: It is now 10/2024 and I must be a glutton for punishment because I m still paying and STILL babysitting. Just had a tech walk only the perimeter of half my yard and mark me complete. When I called it to his attention he acted surprised that I had a back and side yard then lied about what he treated with. We all have cameras guys, come on! Also, I know those guys have maps of treatment areas. Laziness! Had to have a re treat done. Thank goodness Damien showed up this time after a few years being gone and competed the job appropriately. We always had great experiences with him. They have about 2 decent techs left it seems, Damian and Bryan. Request them only! ******************* Original review from 2022: I have given chance after chance to TruGreen. We have used them since 2018. Our service used to be great, then mid 2020 it started to go south. We lost our regular tech Damien F (he was WONDERFUL) and these random guys started coming out. That s when I noticed my weeds getting worse. I began to watch them when they would come do my yard. 3 times in 2021 I ve caught my new tech not treating my whole yard. In this day and age, you would think these guys would know better with all of the cameras people have. The last two treatments, the guy has done my front yard and left. My back yard hasn t been touched. We now have a horrible infestation of spittle bugs and weeds everywhere. I cannot get a single person at the local branch to call me. I get people from 1-800 who assure me it will not happen again, but it is still happening. To make matters worse. The same tech has now been assigned to me twice and both times he was a no show!! Meanwhile, my treatment is paid and my yard is still sitting infested! I would recommend you do not use this company unless you want to babysit.

The driver pulled up at 1:29 pm. In the 2 minutes that it took me to bring my dogs inside he already had left. I immediately used the apps chat function and they said they could not send him back because the driver already marked it as skipped. I tried calling the 800 number and was disconnected after holding for 6 minutes and 28 seconds. I tried sending an email but they only allow 300 characters so I could not let them know the full scope of the issue. I have not been impressed by the company.

He would not answer any of my questions Unless O gave him my last name. That is absolutely ubsurd. What is the need to my last name if you dont provide my services. Customer service is dying quickly.

The technician, Bryan, was friendly and helpful. I asked him about spraying the nutsedge weeds and he was glad to do the additional spot spraying of the weeds.

My experience with TruGreen has been great overall. My lawn is lush and green only 2 months after being covered in weeds and minimal grass from the winter. They ve had to come out and redo the mosquito defense on two separate occasions after I called because of rain that occurred shortly after the treatment. They were happy to re-treat the yard for free. Quartel is a tech who does a great job, very courteous and professional.

The young man was nice and we re hoping the fertilizer works on our yard. So far this year we re disappointed in the appearance of our yard.

Granular fertilizer applied today. Granules were left all over sidewalk and driveway. If treatment includes iron supplements, then it will leave rust stains on concrete. I had to get out my yard blower and blow the fertilizer granules back on the lawn.

Is the chemical Joey used on our yard yesterday harmful to dogs

Joey Taylor is polite and given all the details to take care of my Lawn.

I would have given a 5, however, I did not meet with the tech after the first treatment (not sure its part of the routine), to go over some aspects of my lawn and treatment program. The treatment is working as I see some weeds dying in most of the lawn. I have a question regarding these other smaller areas.

Checked out prices online, received email quote. 2 sales reps come to my home at night, unannounced, uninvited, on our way out with our family. When attempted to reach a manager of the sales team that came to my home I was met with incompetence, wrong people calling me and ultimately ended with a rep saying if I don t have an account I m not being charged which was not the point of my initial call. She ends up hanging up on me they called me this morning!!! Do not use a company with shark sales tactics not to mention their customer service bites.

I entered my details online for a quote and answered the first call saying that it wasn t a good time to talk and that I would prefer to call back when convenient. They proceeded to call back 17 more times in the space of 3 hours!! Do not give your phone number unless you re prepared to be harassed

Good 1st service call. Clyde was very knowledgeable. I was somewhat surprised by the fact your tech guy started putting down supposedly a fertilizer. Given the current weather and rain water conditions I have learned fertilizer put down now is a waste of any type fertilizer. I would expect a pre- emergent not fertilizer! Just a note that before you apply anything to my lawn, please let me know exactly what it is youre applying beforehand!

I paid in full for a year and now that I have cancelled they are telling me I only get 2 session reimbursed and tried to tell me had I not cancelled that my acct would have only been paid up for two more services for 2024 before June when I paid in full from June 2023 till June 2024! These pple are rip offs and they lead u to believe u pay for a full year when you don t! I was told that even tho I paid for a year from June 2023 to june 2024 I only used 6 sessions in 2023 so I only get 2 out of those 8 session for the year of 2023 paid back to me WHAT ABOUT THE REST OF THE REMAINING MONTHS I PAID FOR THRU JUNE 2024!! TruGreen yall are a scam and should be ashamed of yalls selves taking advantage with misleading information! I will definitely spread the word not to do business with yall!

This is my first year with TruGreen. I have high hopes in seeing a beautiful lawn this year. Quartel, the Service Rep providing the treatment today kindly answered my questions and described what to expect. I was happy to hear the treatment will irradiate the tall clover patches and other unwelcome interruptions to a green carpet of grass. One thing I find challenging is watering granuals after application in the winter. My sprinkler has been shut down for winterizing. Reversing, watering and setting it back up for cold weather is tough. Thus far its only expectations. Will post real results later.

Anthony introduced himself before the service and chatted with me after about what is my lawn needs in the near future. He made me feel like my yard mattered to him. Thank you Anthony and Trugreen!

Total corporate meltdown!! I have no idea how this company makes a profit with the systems they have in place to manage customers and scheduling. I am having a pool built, and BOTH my front yard (small) and my back yard are DIRT. I have diggers driving through the front to get to the back. I have no yard to treat until this is done. A few weeks ago, I told the technician that the pool was being built and that I needed to stop services for at least two months. Since then, I have had THREE technicians out, and I told all of them the same thing I told the tech weeks prior. I had to fire them. It is the only way to get them to stop coming.

Worst service do not recommend. If you w at your lane nice do not pay them. If they can judge your lawn over google maps and show up for ten minutes how can they actually service you.

I have to shout out to the latest tech Allison. She has been the most thorough and methodically tech to date. She was great! She is a keeper! As far as weed control, it is still a work in progress with Trugreen. I have some really bad Virginia Buttonweed and so far they have yet to get the better of it. Matter of fact I have had them out on several free calls to spray for this weed. I will say they are trying and they do come out with no issue for free spraying in between normal spraying. Wouldn t mind if they would send one of their specialist out to walk the yard and discuss a game plan.

I started using TruGreen Lawn this spring. My lawn looks better than it did a year ago. Also I dont have to decide what lawn products to use and I dont have to apply the fertilizer, pest killers and fungus killers, which is important to me because I am 89 years old and not as able as I was in the past.

After reading the reviews, I canceled my appointment and went with a different company.

Company gets it done! Results is the reason I recommend them. The price is not bad! Super happy!!! Saved me from resodding my complete lawn!!

Not only did this lousy company not solve the weed problem in my yard they took it up a couple of notches. They never called to tell me they were coming out to service the yard and their normal way of doing business was to slip in early morning and then call me later telling me they had serviced it..couldnt tell half the time they had been there other than their little flags and the bill. Weeds in my yard are 10 times worse than when they started 9 months ago. Then they came out in early May to give an Iron treatment to the yard and spilled iron all over my driveway, staining large portions of my driveway. To solve this problem they came out and dropped muriatic acid in splotches over my driveway. So now I have a driveway that has stains of iron, big white spots from the acid used. I have been going back and forth with these people and nothing ever gets fixed. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!!

Basically a scam. Only perhaps 1 or 2 out of the 5-6 services that were done were legit. They would promise on the phone call scheduled service for a certain day, then schedule it for a Wednesday or some other random day that nobody was home - terrible. Then recently there was a service that basically the guy left without doing a thing... just left the service card on the door without even a service summary in the pocket! A joke. Another thing is the app shows tab for 2022 (but doesnt populate it with anything), and website doesnt (only shows 2019, 2020, 2021)..highly suspect really because you cant keep track of whats going on - probably by design. Best to avoid, fraudulent scam in my opinion.

I wanted to cancel services, but, they have a customer guarantee. So I allowed them to rectify the ineffective product theyre using. The technician came out and rang my doorbell which I have no idea why. I told him just do it, I dont know why youre even talking to me. He then turned around and said Im cancelling service like he owns the business. Now I know why the treatment wasnt working people like him that dont care to just do their job right.

Long story short, they dropped a large amount of fertilizer on my lawn, killed several patches of grass. Rest of yard always dry and dead. I called and called for them to fix it and no answer after many calls. When I did finally get an answer they said go buy some grass and fix it. Horrible customer service. Can never get a manager to call or a name of a manager. After canceling the manager called and didnt care at all what had happened. WILL NEVER USE THEM OR SUGGEST THEM TO ANYONE EVER!

Outstanding work ethic, on time and worked quickly. Friendly service and will be using again.

I dont think its worth the money . I still have weeds and my grass isnt thicker or greener. Wont be renew services

Anthony was very professional and friendly, he went above and beyond to address our concerns and was very knowledgeable. If I could give 20 stars I would ! I was not very impressed with the service I received from true green but Anthony managed to change my minde, we will be sticking with him from now on. I encourage all future customers in the Houston area to request Anthony Barnes

Don t trust this company, they don t know the first thing about lawn , even they don t know what s different between lawn and weeds, they damaged my lawn, even some spots dead,I got tree different services to fixe my lawn but just worst and worst. Please please please don t trust them before damaging your lawn.

Anthony Barnes did a great job. He was very informative and answered all of my questions. He made sure I understood the application process for todays visit. I personally would like Anthony Barnes to be my yard specialist going forward. I would rather deal with only him if possible. 5 stars for Anthony today! 1 Positive
