We had Appleton Landscaping do some work last summer that turned out great at the time, including planting trees, outcropping stones, and a set of stone stairs. Since then, this summer we noticed that some of the stones by the stairs had shifted and we were concerned about it getting worse. I have tried contacting them multiple times for the past month and a half, at least half a dozen different times including phone, email, and their own web form. They only responded once and told me they would stop the following week, but no one ever showed and they never called to say they needed to reschedule. As mentioned, no one responds when I try contacting them. While their work may look as good as any other professional in the landscaping business, be careful with what project you have for them. I only had one experience with them to go based on, but I can't recommend them for their lack of post-project customer service. I'll likely need to fix what they did myself or hire another landscaper to fix it.
Not a customer, but total disregard for neighboring properties. I was told by or neighbor that they would not need to come on to our property. Came home from work, and had tire tracks on or driveway and the lawn. They also had a large bucket lift parked half on my yard and outrigger pads sunk into my grass.
We had an awesome experience with Appleton Lawn Snow and Landscaping. They work incredibly hard (and fast!) and from design to install Ryan was very responsive to any questions we had along the way.
Highly recommend Appleton Lawn, Snow and Landscaping. Great service, fair pricing and quality work. They installed a concrete patio extension, new patio stairs and a gazebo for me. Cleaned up perfectly and planted new grass where the machine tire tracks wore down the grass.
The owner, Ryan, delayed seeding our lawn until the very end of Oct 2023. When we expressed concern about this late planting of grass seed, he insisted that he had done this many times over the years and that it would be fine in the spring. When we questioned this further, he looked me in the eye and verbally guaranteed it would grow and that he would reseed in the spring if it did not. The day after he seeded, strong winds had blown the straw and likely some seed away, leaving large areas of bare spots. When my wife called him this spring (late May 2024) to get the lawn reseeded, he said no because we didn’t water the lawn! As most anyone will recall, the month of May was extremely wet, raining most days, leaving our yard muddy and unwalkable most of the time. He did not contact us this spring at any time with instructions to ensure the lawn would grow successfully. In fact, he said he drove by a couple of times to check but never communicated any suggestions or requirements to ensure a healthy lawn, stating he “doesn’t have time” to talk to all his customers! Collecting our money last fall was apparently the only thing he really cared about. We have learned the value of the owner’s word the hard way and are writing this to hopefully spare someone else a similar experience.
From the time that we requested for quote until after the job was done, the customer focus is far above any other company we reached out to. When emailing Ryan, we came to expect to see a response within hours; not days or weeks. He was very flexible with quoting us different options and is priced within the same range as other companies. His crew came and installed our brick patio and lawn in a matter of three days and were very professional, knowledgeable, and helpful with tips on maintenance. If you are looking for top notch quality work and extremely good customer service, Ryan and his crew at Appleton Lawn & Snow is definitely the way to go.
Ryan and team did a great job on my drainage ditch and removing a tree last year!! They were great to work with up front, they arrived when scheduled, they patched up my yard when done, and they even took away extra brush that I had in the back when they removed the tree!! All in all a great company to work with and I will use them again.
I've had the opportunity to work with Ryan and his Appleton Lawn and Snow Patrol team multiple times and have always had a fabulous experience. Whether it was mowing our lawn (after I had a significant surgery), mulching our flower beds, or trimming our trees - all have been excellent experiences. More recently, this summer my husband really wanted to build a fire pit/patio in place of where our above ground pool used to be. I called multiple landscapers for estimates...our options were narrowed down to Appleton Lawn and another local company. We went with Ryan because he really provided a great deal of details on the project, understood our vision, and was able to work with us within our budget. One thing I like about Ryan is he doesn't BS...he tells it like it is and explained to both my husband and I that weather could delay our install (it was insanely wet in mid-may). Sure enough, weather was a factor, BUT Ryan would text me frequently letting me know when things looked like they'd be able to get done (we needed a two day (dry) time frame for install and finishing. When install day arrived, Ryan showed up, introduced me to all three members of his crew who would be working on the project and I was impressed with his foreman, Arlin. That guy is a gem! All three and Ryan got started and it was smooth sailing!!!! His crew was professional and were hard workers. Arlin checked in with me a few times throughout the day to get my input, make sure I was happy with progress, and then filled me in on the timeline for the second day of install. I was always "in the know" of what the plan was. I made a last minute decision to have Ryan fill in the tracks/divots from the equipment with fresh top soil and seed. I had thought earlier to save on cost that my husband and I could just do it on our own...yea, dumb idea. Ryan and his team made the adjustment quickly and before the guys were done, they had arranged for top soil, seed, and straw to be put down. It was the best "add on" decision I could have made! Sure, it was an extra expense, but It saved me and my husband tons of time, frustration, and annoyance! LOL. Watering the new lawn was WAY easier and WORTH IT! I can't say enough positive things about Ryan, Arlin and the crew. We love our patio and use the fire pit every weekend :) It was a great investment at a fair price and we are already beginning to plan our landscaping project for next summer - which we will be asking Ryan and Appleton Lawn to complete! I'm including a before picture and some after photos of the install!! If anyone has questions or wants more info, don't be afraid to ask.
After my husband was injured and had to have an unexpected surgery we needed some help with our lawn work. The owner was very personable and reassured us that everything would be taken care of. The lawn care was exceptional and it was nice to see a friendly face. We couldnt have been more happy with our decision to choose Appleton Lawn and Snow, they were priced just right for our lawn care needs.
Ryan and his team have been great to work with for snow removal. Its been a struggle in the past with other vendors. I am happy this year was so smooth!

Purchased a new home where the final landscaping/lawn was put in July 2022. We have standing water up to the foundation. They came out, saw the mess and they never came up with a plan to fix it. We have had several other contractors out and they all said the grading was done incorrectly. We have had quotes to fix it up to $17000.00 and some contractors have said it has to be completely redone because it was done so poorly.They certainly do not stand by their work.
They did a good job. They kept you informed on everything you asked for.
These guys did a great job! After calling around to get quotes these guys were the most reasonable regarding price by a lot , I had about 8yards. Did all around the house. Staff was very professional and were in and out in about 2 hrs. Definitely will use again in the future!! Ryan the owner is a great guy to work with.

While mother nature slowed this project down the company was outstanding to work with. Ryan was great to work with and helpful when we had to make some changes. Also the crew that was here for 3 days regrading my property and installing the sod were always willing to answer my questions and were great with my dogs and their safety. I would highly recommend them.

We recently had Appleton Lawn Snow and Landscaping at our house for a landscape update project. They removed old rock and replaced with new, redid edging with natural stone, and planted several new trees and scrubs. They did a beautiful job! The landscape update adds so much improvement to our yard. Nate, Kale, and Brad did an excellent job! Hard workers. Very easy to work with and very trustworthy. Got the job done in 2 days. We are very happy with our new landscape!! I highly recommend. Thank you, Ryan and team!

Highly recommend Ryan and his team! Conscientious, quick response time, dependable! Hes done my snow removal for the past two years and I am very pleased with his work. This spring I needed some overgrown flower beds revitalized. He did edging, mulching, planting in bare spots, and just cleaned up the whole area. He and his crew are polite and the yard looked amazing by the time they finished. I couldnt be happier!

Ryan and the Appleton Lawn and Snow team were great to work with. The Wisconsin summer is short enough and this year with all the rain did not make the best year to want to put a new lawn in but working with Ryan on the project made it great. From day one, the responsiveness was great and it was very noticeable that Appleton Lawn and Snow pride themselves in great/quick communication and then backed by good quality work. I selected to work with Appleton Lawn and Snow because they were cost competitive and had great customer service and I am very satisfied with my decision. Weather permitting, when then lawn was put in, I thought the team did a great installation job. I even had neighbors comment on the quality of work the team did. When I had some post sale questions and request, Ryan was very responsive which showed they really value their customers. I definitely would recommend the Appleton Lawn and Snow team again. The only regret that I do have is not being home when they did the installation so I could thank the Appleton Lawn and Snow team personally (or maybe set a cooler out for them so they could have some ice cold beverages)

Upon arrival, his crew went to work immediately, were polite, professional, and hard working, and left the work site in excellent condition. I am completely satisfied, with both the quality of the work, as well as my cost. In the future, he will be my first call for any services he provides, even if hes busy and I have to wait. Ryan and his team at Appleton Lawn, Snow, & Landscaping did an EXCEPTIONAL job on our lawn, landscape, and beach! We reached out to Ryan back in early June to discuss our project. He responded within a matter of minutes, and by the next day, he had met us at our home to assess our yard. We live on a small pond in Menasha and have a very pitched back yard. We had no idea what we were going to do with it. Ryan offered up a variety of suggestions on how best to proceed, and it was evident he and his crew are the best in their field. They are also the most competitive, making it an easy win-win! With all of the rain we got this Spring and Summer, his team wasnt able to begin on our yard until early September. Ryan followed up with us at least 5-10 times throughout the summer to keep us updated on his schedule and when he and his team could begin, based on this tricky Wisconsin weather. Based on the feedback and responses we received from Ryan, as well as seeing the work he and his team do, its easy to tell how much they truly care about their work and their customers. We could not be happier with the end result! They put in a full on BEACH down by our pond, a massive stone bed near our patio, and HAND SEEDED our entire lawn. The lawn was seeded on Saturday 9/07...today, 9/17, we already have a TON of grass coming in. We are so pleased! We will definitely be reaching out to Ryan and his team with ANY future projects! This company installed a two level block retaining wall we have been dreaming about for 31 years. Arlin and his crew did a FANTASTIC, professional job of installing the new retaining wall. Their cleanup and lawn repair/grass planting was terrific!!! An absolutely beautiful job from beginning to end. My wife and I completely recommend Appleton Lawn-Snow-Landscaping for landscaping construction of this type/style. We have ordered plantings from Arlin and expect to have them planted in September! Ryan Richeson (owner) and his crew is the contracted landscaping business for 2 local apartment complexes owned by Wiechmann Enterprises. He is very professional and goes above and beyond to do what needs to be done. One of the complexes, Fox River Bluff Apartments, in the past few years has definitely received a wonderful beautification. The guys tire down a raised deck that wrapped around an above ground pool we no longer use. They did a great job. They cleaned everything up, kept me up to date on progress, got other people involved when needed and went above and beyond! I cannot wait for the finished product!

Ryan came out to check out my landscaping in a timely manner. He listened to my ideas and understood what I needed to get done. I received the quotes within a week and they were reasonable. I contacted Ryan discussed what I could afford at this time and he worked within my budget and was able to do the job THAT day. My landscaping looks 1000 X s better and is just what I wanted. I look forward to working with him and his team in the spring to finish the rest of the project!

I cant say enough good things about Ryan and his company. While waiting for a quote from another company, I saw Appleton Lawn on Facebook and contacting them, Ryan responded almost immediately and asked that I call. Within about 2-3 he was at my home, and starting to get my info. I had another landscaper do an extremely poor job, and it all needed to be redone. We spent about an hour talking about what needed to be done, then he was there awhile taking notes. Within a week I had my quote. HE explained everything they were going to do, and when. Once they started, the crew was amazing. They rebuilt my retaining wall in to a piece of art, it is amazing. The crew was friendly and knowledgable. They reinstalled my buried downspouts, and regraded my lawn, again the previous landscaper was horrible. Even though the weather was not cooperating this fall and it is taking a little longer than planned, I couldnt be happier!!! Never had an issue with communication, usually I got a response within 10-15 minutes. a few times it may have taken an hour or two, still awesome in my opinion. I am looking forward to having work on some of my future projects!

Customer service and communication was terrible. There was a lot of rain before the install of my lawn. I understood there would be a wait of when it could get done. I never got updates unless I asked. I explained what we wanted for a yard install, got a quote and was quoted for only half of the dirt I needed. This added on 1200 dollars more to my yard install then originally quoted. Then they took a chunk out of my brand new patio that got installed a few weeks before they showed up. They denied doing it, but would make it right and pay for it. The problem happened when he called the concrete company blaming us for the chunk missing and calling us liars. Well Im friends with the patio company owners...they also agreed that it is unbelievable that they even got that close to the patio and there is no way I could have done it. He was interested in doing business with the patio company...they werent interested after hearing the customer service we got. I could have had them pour the whole patio over. Instead I settle for getting 2.5 cut off. Never once did I get a deal on the yard or the extra 4 loads of dirt I had to have brought in. I was told Id get a receipt for my payment in my email and its been 3 days and still nothing. In the end I got what I wanted out of the yard after paying the extra amount. Just seemed like poor communication and no care for the customer. I dont normally leave reviews like this. I just feel like I was treated poorly for the amount of money I spent on dirt for this one. The yard itself turned out great after these issues. They did a great job with the actual work, just dont expect much for service or communication.

I just moved into a new construction home in July. I wanted to get my lawn in this year, but so many of the lawn companies are so busy this year. I received a flyer in the mail from Appleton Lawn and Snow Patrol and figured I would give them a call. Ryan and I communicated and he was able to work me into their schedule in just a few weeks. Throughout the process I had a lot of requests and questions and Ryan answered every one of them in short order. I dont think I waited over 15 minutes for Ryan to call/text me back at any point. The quote I received wasnt the lowest price I had seen, but I really wanted my lawn in, and with the communication that I had received, I was confident that the job would get done. When the crew showed up to put the lawn in, it was Arlin (the foreman) that ran the show. Arlin knew exactly what he was doing. He shaped the yard, planted the seed and fertilizer, and spread the hay and made sure I was happy before leaving. I watered the yard religiously every day and after just ONE WEEK, our lawn was sprouting up. It has now been about a month and the lawn is coming in very well. Whatever product they used must have been quality stuff because the lawn is looking great. Overall, the communication I had with Ryan throughout the process and the job that was done exceeded my expectations and the value I received with all things considered was well worth it in my eyes. I have no doubts that if something had gone wrong with my lawn following the project or even went wrong with it now, I could text Ryan and he would work through it with me and that is priceless. I would recommend Appleton Lawn and Snow Patrol to anyone!
During the process of gathering quotes for our lawn in June I had received a flyer from Appleton Lawn and Snow Patrol, so I contacted Ryan to ask for a quote. Ryan immediately responded that he would have a quote to me within 7 days. I was very impressed was the prompt response I got due to the number of other companies that were booked into October. After receiving the quote from Ryan we narrowed down a timeframe in August for them to do the lawn. When the time came Ryan informed me exactly when it was going to be and how everything would go. The experience I had with Arlin, who is the foreman, was fantastic. He worked continuously to grade the lawn and spread the top soil. The next day they returned and finished seeding and laying down hay. Arlin also took the time to setup the hoses and sprinklers I had to wet the hay down before leaving. I spoke with Arlin before they left and he gave me the rundown on how to best grow the lawn. After only a week the lawn already began sprouting. It took about 30 days and the lawn was fully grown in. I followed up with Ryan and he dropped off some extra grass seed so that I could hit a few spots that got washed out. Overall, I was very impressed with Appleton Lawn and Snow Patrol. Definitely recommend Ryan, Arlin, and crew!
I have been using Ryan on my property for the past three years, Every time I call he answers. I use him for my land scarping and snow removal and there has been times in the winter when I needed him at 3am and he picked up the phone to take care of the what I needed. I would recommend him and crew to everybody who wants to the get the job done right!!!
Very professional and do amazing work! Had them do a back patio for me a year ago and a walkway to my house this year! A little pricy but worth not having to do it myself and for the quality work they do!
