The person doing the actual lawn application was excellent but I was very disappointed in the non-responsiveness of the arborist. I left several messages with the receptionist for him to contact me and he never once responded. I will not be using their services again.

Sav A Tree did a rush job on trimming two of our trees. Some of the trees branches were scraping the house when it was windy. With the trimming done, they saved my recent house paint job. With the trees thinned out you can now see the view of the house now. The work that was done made a huge difference. The price and rush job were a great deal. I Will use them again in the future.

Sorry I lost my email. I found the name of SavATree when the grubs were destroying my lawn. A gentleman named Curtis was my first arborist. I was nervous about having someone else in charge because I was used to doing it myself. Curtis and company started treating my lawn and with some work it began to come around. They really knew all the right things and when and how to do them I really appreciated that I had my arborist to call when there was any problem and he would call me back and come out if necessary. I pride myself on my lawn and finding SavATree was my lucky day. There have been a few other arborists in between and now I have the pleasure of having Austin and he is wonderful! This is a company you can trust! I had a large Mugo Pine that lost 3 large limbs last year to a wet heavy snow. Kevan came out & created a plan for saving the tree. It was doing better until a wet snow this winter took another limb and I had to take it down. Kevan is knowledgeable & responsive! The crew that took down the tree was efficient & thorough. They even moved my fountain for me! I was more than satisfied with the work!

We were very pleased with the tree work done by SavaTree. We had an extremely large maple in our sloping, small front yard (close to the house) that needed to be removed. Also, our crabapple tree in the backyard needed pruning and shaping. Arborist Kevan met with me - made suggestions, and advised me what was best plus answered all my questions. He knew his stuff. Plus he met with the crew before the crew started work. This was a big job requiring all the tree removal trucks and equipment with a crew of 7. It was obvious they knew what they were doing and truly worked as a team. They were an efficient well oiled machine . And - since we live near an elementary school they made sure to put up sidewalk barriers and were watchful of kids walking home. The 2 crew members who worked on the crabapple tree spent time methodically choosing which branches and limbs needed to go not just hacking off anything. Price was very reasonable. I strongly recommend this company.

Kevan Dudley and crew took care of me and my trees in Saint Paul yesterday. I was concerned; I knowingly planted a honey locust very near utility lines. It needs thoughtful routing pruning to grow into the glorious 40-50 ft tree without being a liability over decades. The tree has also been screening my view of neighbors bright lights and utilities and alley views. I wanted good structure for the future, but wanted to keep as much screen as possible without a lopsided tree. Kevan communicated with me well, responded to my pre-appointment emails, and came day-of with the crew. The crew was maybe 7 plus Kevan. They took time, listened, and gave appropriate and helpful opinions as I expressed myself. Discussion was good. Together we came to a staged set of decisions that was a good compromise. I am the kind of person who wants to understand some of the science behind the art. Yes, my honey locust looks both funny and better. My magnolia, redbud, and Japanese lilac all look better and no longer encroach on immediate structures. I have lived in urban settings with mature trees all my life. This is a company you want taking care of the trees around your which give your property its climate modifying shade and character. When we had storms come through our neighborhood, some neighbors went with door knocking storm chasers to take care of their trees. Many of those trees suffered from less thoughtful care. I feel confident that Kevan and his Hopkins crew of Sav-A-Tree will work to do their best and give you and your environment very good care. Thank you Kevan and crew for a job well done.

I had some troubles with scheduling and not hearing back but that was resolved today. Wesley, the arborist, came out with a crew and they did some rework on my trees. They were professional and made sure I was consulted and happy with the rework. Wesley even pruned up my crabapple tree in the front complementary. Wesley kindly answered my questions. He s a very knowledgeable person with great conversational skills. My frustrations were addressed and the work was done well. They were all kind & professional. I would recommend them if you re looking for tree work to be done.

I have been using SavATree for years, and have always had great results. They took care of a sick Red Oak in my back yard, and it is still hanging in there, but they also take great care of my Russian olive, and my arborvitae all around my house. The people that work on my trees are very professional and I trust them.

$1700 is ridiculous for two trimmed trees with a returned visit because the job was not done right the first time which took several weeks to get done with no communications or follow-up. I also asked that the dead branches be left on an existing pile, but what actually happened was that both the dead branches and existing pile were removed.

My family and I needed specialists who truly cared about the health of our trees and the safety of our and our neighbors homes, which is where Tim and his crew come into play. They took great care with our mature oaks and their great canopies which span across the property, while also taking great care of each others safety. We have contracted with SavaTree for 5 years. We worked with Scott, an arborist. He was absolutely wonderful. He helped us bring our lawn back to exactly where we wanted it to be. We had a huge Creeping Charlie issue which he actually resolved. And, if you have had that, you know how difficult that is to manage, and youll know that was really an achievement. He also took care of our Japanese beetle problem and really got rid of them including all of the grubs so they wouldnt come back in future years. I highly recommend SaveaTree. Oh, they also removed a diseased elm tree and did an absolutely fantastic job. Removed the stump and refilled the dirt. You would never even know that there was a tree there that was easily three feet in diameter. I highly recommend them. It is absolutely worth the time and money.

Chris came out and analyzed our large cotton tree. Professional arborist. Gave a detailed report on findings and the things to know with that type of tree and potential red flags to watch out for over time. Thankfully the tree was still healthy! Definitely cared about the safety of the property. Very friendly and fast service. Would recommend!

Be warned, if you purchase one of their tree treatments they automatically sign you up for yearly treatments. In 2022 I did a kelp treatment for 2 white oaks in my front yard, nobody told me I was being signed up for yearly treatment so in 2023 they just came and did the treatment again and sent me a bill. No phone call, text, or email to let me know they were coming. Also, the rate went up $100 dollars and they didn t even have the courtesy to contact me and notify me of the rate increase. There is a line in the estimate that says you are being signed up for annual service which I missed, but something as important as this should really be discussed and they should make contact with you before just doing the service again. Literally every other company I work with that has quarterly or annual service has the courtesy to contact me ahead of time. Save yourself some trouble and choose one of the other companies for your tree services.

Paid their deposit after one of their representatives came out to look at the tree. They then were a no show twice when coming to take the tree down. I took time off of work both times. The 2nd time they didnt show, someone from the company came out early morning to mark the tree and meet with me. He said his crew would be by before lunch to take it down. At lunch time, I get a text saying that they werent going to make it. It took me 3 phone calls and 10 days to get my deposit back. *Update* In reply to their response, I do have the right tree company. I am writing this review under an alias, as Im not interested in any problems that could arise due to this review.

Have contracted with SavATree twice in 2022 and results have been excellent each time. First efforts by John, Leland and Josh involved challenging storm damage cleanup with tree on the house. Second time was multiple removals/trimming, after high wind damage, tended by Troy, Sarah and James. They provided careful work, including multiple machines, while protecting our delicate ecosystem. I love Scott and the Save a Tree crew so much. In fact, my whole neighborhood chooses this crew. They re reliable, cost effective, and provide some seriously quality work. For me, they take care of my weeds, trees, and spray for tick and mosquitos for my yard. They also go above and beyond. One year I had a large stump that was growing bad fungus and I was worried my dogs would get into it and get blastomycosis. I called Scott and he had his team out the next week to remove the tree and the fungus to ensure my dogs were safe. Further more, they artistically trimmed my trees to keep my river view beautiful. Sav A Tree removed 2 very large Ash Trees using a crane. They were very efficient, safe, and when they were done, you couldnt even tell they had been there except for 2 stumps. The workers were skilled and very friendly.

They removed a tree, ground the stump and cut down some small trees that were already low. I was charged $250 for cutting down 10 very small trees that were already cut low as I thought the $250 would include grinding them out. Pretty spendy for a 20 minute job. Then they were also ok with their stump grinding service spreading out debris from one stump that was in my rock garden over a 4 x 8 foot area vs. a promised nice and neat pile. My arborist thought is wasnt properly done but the management thought I should have to pay full price. So their parting gift was leaving me a few hours work to see about cleaning out my rock garden.

Scott Johnsons SavATree team did an amazing job removing a 50-60 ft cottonwood tree from our backyard. Due to limited access, they removed it by hand. I had the BEST experience with SavATree this week when they removed my beloved but dying Maple tree. They were efficient and amazing and thorough. They took time to cut up parts of the tree that I wanted to keep for woodworking and were just really great guys. The one up in the tree was crazy athletic, and although I could see how good he was, it was still harrowing at times to watch. But it was so engaging! It honestly was like a dance, his feet placement and moving around way up high, and how he used the chainsaw and then without looking, hooked it on his belt, and then with minimum movement, pulled out his manual tree saw and then replaced it, again without even having to look. The entire three-man team was very hard working and efficient and so good to me, their client. I really appreciated all the extras that they did. They checked with me for feedback throughout the activities. And Jacelyn in the office is so kind and helpful. Shes wonderful to work with!

Wonderful company to work with. Estimate process went smoothly as well as the tree removal and stump grinding. They even included black dirt to fill where the stumps were removed. We had a large project that took them all day just to remove all the trees. Three trees were pretty large and they had to drop them into tight spaces, and did so perfectly. Had a great crew that did an outstanding job. Would use again if needed for sure.

I had some issues with our lawn and trees. I met with representatives of SavATree and discussed in detail my issues. They really took the time to listen to me and understand my frustrations. After a couple days they got back to me with a plan to address my issues. Now after one year into the plan it appears to be working. Excellent service all around. Our trees have been cared for by SavATree for a number of years (trimming and inoculation) and all look great. We really thought one of the trees was dead and they brought it back. Recently, when we had to take a tree down due to it growing too close to our house, they were equally up to the task - smooth scheduling and top notch service. After a year of having embarrassing dandelions in our yard, I called up SavATree and they have been crucial in making sure our lawn looks fantastic. They were able to come out to our house the same day we called to evaluate whether or not they would be able to remove a tree from the yard which was causing problems on our property. Not only was this prompt, but the project was completed within weeks of our call. They are competitively priced as well. Curtis the Arborist was responsive and attentive. I was able to talk to him and ask questions while he inspected my trees to formalize a plan. Other tree services went to my house, and sent me quote. Which was nice, but getting the one on one attention was what I was looking for. Once the work was complete, I had a question about an area that could possibly use a bit more trimming. He was at my house within 2 days, and the tree trimmers were over within 5 days. No extra charge. He wanted to be sure I was happy with the job. I was. The cleaned up my oak tree very nicely, and cleaned up all the little branches which was difficult since there was so much snow in the back yard. Very satisfied with the exceptional customer satisfaction and attention I received.

I recently had to remove a very large tree sandwiched between several 2 story town homes. This required expertise and calculations to remove it without causing damage to neighboring structures. Chris at SavA Tree was phenomenal from scheduling to giving me expectations of time and procedure. I then got a follow up call and gracious thanks from Chris when it was done.This was a huge production to take it down. Experts were clearly needed. Even though I hated having to remove any tree, I am so glad that I used them and the talented and brave crew who performed this precise work. I will definitely use them again. They also did an awesome job cutting down a dead tree and grinding out the stump. Their customer service is superb. They call to make sure you are satisfied and check to make sure you dont have any remaining questions. I loved working with Emily and Curtis, and will make sure to hire them again for any future needs.

Great customer service and skilled professionals. We had difficult clump of large ash trees that needed to be removed. Scott kept me informed about how the team would approach the removal and throughout the process. The team that took down our trees were very skilled at felling the trees as to do no damage to other trees close by and to protect our yard. Very impressive work by the SavaTree crew! They trimmed a tree that had gotten out-of-control and did a great job! I was particularly impressed with the Crew Leader, who was very knowledgeable about this tree and other trees in my yard. I was also impressed by the fact that the Crew Leader, as he personally did the trimming, also educated the other two Crew Members as to exactly what he was doing and why. He was both an arborist and an educator.
