As a horticulturist of 45 years experience, I am frequently judgemental of poorly run nurseries. I was impressed by The Green Thumb. It is clean. The surfaces are concrete, which is an expensive investment into quality. The plants are healthy and well cared for, even in mid-August. THAT says a lot! Shop here, it looks great!

Frank Lynch and his team just completed a renovation of our front yard landscaping and they also re-constructed our paver driveway--including cleaning and re-using of old pavers. They also suggested highlighting border pavers that really makes the entrance to our home fresh and sparkling. All our neighbors are very complimentary--and sent us updates as we were out of town for this project. Scott Smith was our designer, and he suggested the border highlighting pavers and Franks team truly executed the plan!!! Frank pulled in his whole team for a few days to get the project done on schedule. Frank was really great at keeping us posted with the project, and we we are delighted with the result. Received a quote of $34,000 from Green Thumb. Multiple other companies quoted me at $10-15,000 for the same project. Not to mention, it took Scott from Green Thumb three weeks to email me back and come up with said quote. If you don t want to do a job, just tell me. Don t leave me hanging and then give me an outrageous quote. Needless to say, we chose a more professional company that gave us a fair quote in a timely manner.

I found the exact palm trees I was looking for at HHI Green Thumb at a price that was half what my contractor was charging for vastly inferior trees. Beautiful plants!

I purchased a lovely heart fern to add to my collection. I regret not grabbing the Calathea. Another to go back to the beach. The green thumb was fully staffed with all women which was really cool. I was disappointed that no one greeted is upon entering the nursery. The manager was really pleasant and friendly inside assisting with the plant.

We are extremely happy with the spectacular landscape that Scott Smith designed for us and the installation work performed by Duane, Jason, Paul and the Green Thumb crew. We went from a yard with essentially no plantings to a lush and tropical paradise! The hardscape work of Duane exceeded our expectations and created a lovely travertine entry and unique backyard pathway of Texas flagstone that meanders through the plantings. Although the start of the project was delayed, once begun the work was uninterrupted. We are so very pleased with the result.

Our first time there and we were very impressed with the amount of inventory, the service and the overall design of this business. I actually am giving it 10 stars.

Absolutely lovely staff. The owners are so amazing and kind. Amazing selection, very organized and orderly establishment. If I could I would rate them 10 stars.

Had them do a 2 level patio and knee wall in 2017. It started falling apart in 2019 and they agreed to fix it after a year. In the middle of the repair they lost their paver guy so I asked if they would let me hire someone else to finish the repairs and Frank agreed to pay the $2800 for repairs. I have yet to receive any money from them ...I keep getting told that they were working on it. Avoid this company as they do not keep their word and are unreliable at best

As a former small business owner I was extremely impressed with the quality and appearance of the product at THE GREEN THUMB and more importantly the CARING and the professionalism of the owner and five team members who came to our home for the planting and last but not least, the irrigation specialist who came out two days later and fixed a problem I have had for two years in about 20 minutes. You guessed it, I would highly recommend THE GREEN THUMB.

Awesome variety of flowers, shrubbery, and herbs. I didnt need any help myself, but I saw employees helping out other customers and was impressed with their knowledge and willingness to help. The icing on the cake is that I saw two really cute and friendly black cats roaming around, one of which jumped into a ceramic planter in front of me for an afternoon nap. I hope those cats have a good day.

Lots of greenery

We recently completed a complete landscaping make-over of our entire residence in Hilton Head Plantation. For us, the exterior of our home is as important as the interior. We selected Green Thumb from a couple of nurseries to do the work. Included in this was a fair amount of hardscaping--driveway, patio, and walkways, plus lawn and trees/shrubbery. The project also included irrigation and lighting. We couldnt be happier with the total experience from working with the designer through installation. All of the personnel were professional in their work and very customer-oriented. Duane and his crew constantly checked with us as work progressed to see if something needed to be moved, changed out or altered. On top of that the owner, Frank Lynch, never went more than a couple of days (usually every day) without checking on the quality of work, and once again to know if we were satisfied. We were kept fully updated on their work schedule. During installation numerous ideas were put forward by the experienced crew of which we adopted several. If you are thinking about some landscaping work, no matter how big or small, we heartily endorse The Green Thumb. Our experience was 5 stars.

Green Thumb just completed a major landscaping job for us - all our shrubs/bushes were removed, all new irrigation installed, new sod, new plants/shrubs/trees and lighting. They did a terrific job and we could not be more pleased. All staff were extremely helpful, listened to what we wanted, were willing to make changes as the project progressed. And now we have a beautifully landscaped yard!! We recommend them very highly.

One of my favorite garden centers on Hilton Head. Excellent selection of beautiful terracotta pots. Nice shop with accessories. Got a wonderful sun hat. Very nice helpful personnel in particular the two kitty staff members that welcome customers and elevate the whole experience. Gotta love a place that adopts rescue cats and gives them a good life.

Professional, helpful and friendly!

What an amazing transformation! We moved into our house 3 months ago and were faced with a rotting deck and years of landscape neglect. Frank, Todd and his crew installed a beautiful hardscape patio and landscaped the yard. These guys are thorough and professional - they really know what theyre doing. They take the job from inception to completion, and are great to work with every step of the way. We highly recommend them - they helped us realize our dream!

The Green Thumb was amazing. They worked with me on budget and helped every way they could with design. Their designer, Todd was just outstanding with his work. Frank was on the job every day just to make sure everything was going well. They converted my little bungalow back yard in Point Comfort into a haven of peace and serenity! I have attached an after shot and a before shot. What a difference! As an aside, the Green Thumb Team installed my new sod on several of the hottest days of the summer but I never saw them slow down or complain. They were a bunch of really good guys. I wouldnt let anyone else touch my yard.

STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY AS POSSIBLE!! They are incompetent, and totally unreliable. Frank, the owner, does not show up at appointments - does not listen to or answer his phone messages (he admits this) - provides sub-standard plants, sub-standard service, and very overly priced. Not only did Frank and his crew start 5 months later than he was supposed to, it took a year and a half for them to finish the job..... and our yard is still not right.

On Wednesday my wife received a call from Doug at Green Thumb to schedule a followup meeting to go over a landscape plan Doug was to put together for us. He had been out to the house about two weeks previously. He said he was available all day Thursday or at 10:00am Friday. My wife said she would check with me and call im right back. Not 10 minutes later she called and he told her he was wrong, he was booked all day Thursday. My wife accepted the 10:00am Friday appt. We got to the nursery about 5 minutes early. We were told he was meeting with an earlier appt ane he would be told we were there. The couple he was meeting with left at about 10:07. At 10:15 we told one of the ladies that we weredone and went to our car. As we were pulling out of the drive, Doug came running out to tell us the previous appt took longer than anticipated. I told him that HE wa the one who scheduled the 10:00 appt and to have us wait 15 minutes was unprofessional, rude and disrespectful. If he cant be on time for an appt made by him the day before, how can we expect any scheduled work to be done timely. I do not plan on dealing with any business who has little regard for the time of their customers.

Green Thumb responded quickly to my request for planning and landscaping my front yard. It was very very very pricey however I was in need of a lawn for an event at my house. Now lets talk follow up and warranty. That is very disturbing. It is now mid July and I have been asking for dead plants to be replaced since end of February. They did provide some new plants, however it was come pick them up and plant them yourself attitude. After paying for full service, I ended up replanting myself. Then it was wait until end of April the other plants will come up. Well it is not July more plants are dying, the ones they said would return have not all returned to life, and still no response. So if you think you are getting any kind of warranty or follow up service, think again. Just saying........ you might want to get a few estimates and get in writing your return warranty will response time.

The nursery is very knowledgeable about landscaping. They did my landscaping when I moved here to Hilton Head Lakes. The residents in the community have made very positive comments about their design. Some of the residents have become Green Thumb customers because of the outstanding work that Green Thumb did. In my opinion the outside of ones home is an extension of the inside of a persons home. Frank and Donna (owners of the nursery) are constantly attending seminars to keep uptodate in their field. Go and visit them. It is a pleasure to look in their shop and view their plants.
