Alex first came out in the late fall of 2020 to review our trees. We had concerns about an old oak that was shedding dead branches like it was going out of style, as well as an older maple in danger of splitting from the weight of new growth. We had some ash trees and blighted spruce trees that also needed removed. Alex gave us a quote for those, as well as the back part of our property that needs much more heavy work. It was some time before he was able to schedule to come out, because we needed the ground to be dry enough for the heavy machinery, but he regularly checked in and let us know we were on the schedule, and to ask about the ground conditions and weather at our farm. When they came out, Alex and his team cut down, bucked, and shredded everything. They left us neat piles of logs to split and mulch to use for farming and gardening, and made sure the oak and maple near our home were taken care of. I cannot recommend him enough. If you have any need of an arborist, call Alex. Hell take care of you.

Alex is amazing! We have had many quotes and a few companies do some work on our property over the years. Never have we felt as comfortable and confident in the work done. We hired Alex and his team to trim some trees on our property, as well as our neighbor. They did great work, were extremely professional. The cleanup was spotless. Most importantly, Alex knows his trees. He is a trained professional who is dedicated to what he does. He trimmed up branches without damaging the integrity of the tree. He also recommended trimming one of our trees in order to save it. The trees look great, and will continue to provide shade and animal habitat for many years to come. Alex and his team do outstanding work for a reasonable price. Had them come today and take down 2 trees and prune 2 others. One was leaning right over my septic and pipe out to the septic, and Alex and his team meticulously took the tree down piece by piece, limb by limb using a rope to carefully lower each down to the ground to assure not breaking any of the septic components under the ground. They did a great job cleaning up, and left the yard nice and tidy. I highly recommend these guys and will definitely use them for any tree work I ever need done again.

Alex was very professional and personable. He made an appointment to see the trees that we wanted to cut and trim, made recommendations and emailed me a reasonable quote in a timely manner. We didn t have a chance to get the trees cut in the summer as we wanted, so we reached out to him in the spring and he honored the same quote. He provided proof of insurance, came back for another look at how the trees have grown since the summer, offered suggestions and then made an appointment to return in 2 weeks. He cut down 1 tall tree and will grind that stump in the future. He trimmed 3 large trees and his crew of 2 others cleaned up in a timely manner. They were here from 9:30-3:00 and were diligent. He accidentally broke the head of a water sprinkler and immediately called me to apologize, then offered to pay for it. We appreciate his honesty and professionalism. We highly recommend him for cutting and pruning trees!

I had a huge stump in my front lawn that was there for a year and a half. I had had another tree service take the money and never came back as promised to remove the stump. I wish I had known about Alex before I would have had him do the whole thing. Anyway Alex came out gave me a few options to choose from and when asked about his recommendation he was very honest and due to the type of tree it was I am more than pleased with the removal. The stump was completely ground out along with surface roots and the crew did an amazing clean up. Leveling out the mound of debris and left the driveway and walk way spotless. When he came for an estimate he was knowledgeable and honest about what he felt was appropriate to remove and what could wait. His team arrived on time and took care doing the job well. There was even an extra dead branch next to one of the trees I was taking out that I hadnt noticed when he gave me the estimate. He agreed to take it out day of at no extra cost. Due to the snow it wasnt entirely obvious on one of the tree stumps how low to the ground it had been cut. After the snow melted I asked if he could come back and cut it down a little more. I had Tavlan Tree Service come over to take a look at some trees I wanted cut down in my yard, one being a GIANT spruce by the road. He took the time to walk around the whole yard and go over what his thoughts were on the work. Very knowledgeable, very easy to work with and most importantly very honest. I was planning on cutting a tree down and he advised that it was healthy and only needed a clean up. He showed up on time every day and all the work was done as promised. The removal of that giant spruce was done flawlessly and you cant even tell it was every there. No need to call around for tree service, Tavlan is the only way to go.

Fall 2015 - Alex gave us a very competitive quote to remove 2 large oak tress and do safety pruning on the remaining trees in our yard last fall. The work done was of extremely high quality and he made sure to not harm the trees he pruned. The tree removal was completed on they days he promised and he even went above and beyond by cutting down a dead tree slightly off my property. Alex took the time to answer all my questions and even gave a moderate discount. I am very pleased with Alexs work. You cannot go wrong with Alex. His knowledge and experience make him a fantastic tree removal and landscaping expert. Spring 2016 - Based on the great work Alex did with tree removal and pruning I hired Alex and his team to come and do mulching and spring cleanup a week ago. Again, his quote was competitive and fair. He edged the grass, pruned all the bushes and plants, removed old mulch, leveled the mulch beds, spread 25 yards of high quality mulch and even did extra trimming in other areas of the lawn. I am extremely pleased with the work done. The lawn looks great and it was money well spent. For any tree removal or landscaping needs I highly recommend Alex and his team.

Alex and Tavlan Tree Service did an excellent job pruning two large trees on my front yard, clearing branches away from utility lines and removed a 45ft dead tree in my backyard at a reasonable cost. They were careful about neighboring smaller trees, our neighbor s property and an above ground pool that I was nervous about. They also did extra work beyond what they quoted me at no extra charge. They are knowledgeable, courteous and very professional. Alex also took to time to educate me (a new home owner) about the trees on my property and gave me a detailed estimate of other work I may want done later. I hired Alex to prune my Trees in my backyard. He did a wonderful job. The trees now have a wonderful shape to them. The trees can also handle wind gust better. When you hire Alex you get more than just a guy who cuts trees. Alex explained the type of trees I had in my yard and how they all depend on each other. I would definitely hire Alex again.

Alex Tavlan shared a great wealth of knowledge with us about out trees and plants around our new property. He was very honest in his appraisal and reality in what trees to try to save and which were likely going to require removal in the near future regardless of treatments and pruning. We hired Tavlan Tree Service to remove several trees completely that were too far damaged or diseased. Three ashs very close to a structure were expertly removed with no damage as was a large oak directly over a new pool. Two other very large trees that were on the verge of falling due to rot at all levels of the trees height were taken down skillfully alongside a pond and driveway without any ill effects. As I have a use for all the wood for fire wood Alex proved we me with a great price leaving the wood for me, but despite my expectation of having a lot of clean up, he and his crew largely piled up the wood and debris in neat fashion rather than leave it where it fell., which is a testament to his customer service and ethic to leave a job in better condition than he came into. I highly recommend Tavlan Tree Service for their professionalism, fair prices (even when its a difficult removal), and the depth of Alexs tree/plant knowledge. You get far more than just a tree service when you hire them!
