Earlier this Summer I had a large limb fall off our tree in the front yard and not only did AJ from Savatree have a crew come out immediately to clean up the damage, he helped us navigate a complex permitting process and eventually got the failing tree removed. It is really nice to have an arbor company that I can trust! I have worked with Jon for close to seven years at my job with the city trimming trees for our facilities. I am part of a small self-managed HOA, we had concerns about a few large trees around our buildings, so I gave Jon a call. As always Jon answered his phone and showed up the same day to inspect our trees. Good news! Jon said we have nothing to worry about and call back in about 2 to 3 years. I manage Garden Style apartment complex with 102 units in Beaverton. We had a tree that was falling down at about 4pm on a Tuesday, so I reached out to Savatree. Angela took my call and was very helpful and knew our property and exactly which of the arborist had history on our site. Angela had Jon Poteet call me back within 5 minutes. Once I started to describe the area he knew the exactly tree that it was, size, species, parking areas, and the surrounding conditions! Turned around the quote in 15 minutes then called the next morning to check and see if we had an approval. We did. They had a crew onsite by 3pm on Wednesday, got it taken care of and they also pruned the tree next to it so that it would not break a large limb in the next windstorm, the crew did a great job of clean up. Thank you again Angela, Jon, and the crew that did the work.

Several months ago I realized our cypress trees were in trouble. Limbs were exposed and brown areas were increasing. I emailed the OSU Ask the Expert website and sent photos. They suggested SavATree. The evaluation was free, so we set a date for the visit. We signed up for a year of service, two applications each -- for fungus and fertilization. My husband was impressed with Ricks years of experience and expertise. I submitted some questions about bug spray, watering and I asked when we will see improvement. They responded to my email in a day. The trees look better, but not great. Their progress will take time. There are many bald spots to fill in. I was told they will be saved, yeah!! I am glad they are being cared for. They are magnificent.

There was a mix-up in scheduling which pushed our job back a week but when Jason did arrive to do the work it was all golden. SavATree did a great job trimming our walnut and pine trees and today they removed an invasive tree that was blocking view of oncoming traffic. Contrera was the crew lead for his team and did a great job making sure the work was done efficiently and the driveway was cleaned up well. We plan on using them again in the future.

Franco & his crew did a fantastic and professional job removing 2 -50 trees with no damage to our property or our neighbors. They were quick and efficient with safety for themselves at the top of the list. Nat, Angel and team have been so helpful. We are new to Portland from Chicago so did not have an appreciation for tree care and maintenance. They explained everything including what was involved with belting a tree and why being belted. They also pruned a number of trees and removed a hedge to help with sewer work. Very pleased. Contreras and his two crew members removed a codominant (two stems, joined at the bottom) Douglas fir from our property. They were friendly, extremely competent, and thorough. They were also impressive to watch, as they did such potentially hazardous work with apparent ease. They well deserve a five-star rating, IMHO.

I live in a nonsmoking apartment complex. They came and cut some branches and a over 60 year old established and healthy tree. One of the crew members was smoking while they were getting the vehicles set up (on our non smoking property). When they cut down this beloved tree, I watched at least two squirrels fall from the very top of the tree and the guys on the bottom just laughed each time. This was very poor professionalism on their part. Not a very good image for their company who supposedly saves and loves trees.

We recently had a huge tree fall on our condo property. Fortunately, we had Jon Poteet and SavaTree of Hillsboro on our side. In 2 weeks they removed a 70-foot, 40 diameter maple from our building and returned the massive tree trunk back to the City of Portland green space. All other arborists we consulted couldn t figure out how to remove it, due to its tight location, and couldn t start for 4 weeks! Thanks Jon and AJ!

When a tree comes down on the roof of your house during a storm, it is easy to imagine the worst. A quick call to my insurance carrier put me in touch with Sav A Tree. Giles came out and inspected the job, we arranged insurance coverage and Randi in the Sav A Tree office went above and beyond to get my interaction managed with this service and my home. They did everything in their power to make a bad situation into something manageable. The storm now has us looking at the other trees on our property and we know well be contacting Sav A Tree when that time comes.

The arborist who came was extremely knowledgeable and experienced and did a beautiful job on my trees. He also provided very helpful advice about other trees I should add to my garden. Moreover the two young men who were assisting (one an arborist in training) were hardworking and efficient. They did a great job cleaning up afterwards.

These guys were great. There was a miscommunication around whether or not we wanted to keep the logs as firewood and we didnt read the contract closely enough to catch it. But after emailing about it, Nat came himself on a weekend and loaded them one-by-one into his truck, climbing up and down the hill in back of our house to get them. This is the 2nd time I have used this company. Both times the crews were timely, conscientious and did an amazing job cleaning up. Today the crew removed a compromised tree that could have damaged a chicken coup. They took their time securing the tree with no damage to any structure (or chickens).

Weve had a wonderful experience with SavATree and their former company. This was our third time using them and each time they have done an excellent job. Nat Bockman is great to work with, he came out quickly, gave us a competent bid and made recommendations to safely remove hazardous trees and limbs. We had a competitive bid within a day and were able to get on their schedule in less than 2 weeks. We were assigned Rafa and his talented crew (who weve had in the past) to remove a problem three trunk tree that was leaning over our house. I worked from home to I could monitor the removal as the tree sit precariously over our house, a hot tub, and our neighbors yard. They worked carefully and safely to remove the giant tree limb by limb to ensure nothing fell on any of the structures. They completed the 2 day job in 1 day and left the site cleaner than it was before they started. I cant recommend this team and SavATree enough. First class professionals all the way.

Hi, A few weeks ago on a Monday Jose, Loren, and Leonardo came and removed a tree from a trailer at Creekside of Hillsboro Trailer park they did a great job, a few days later Jose, Apner, Eustolio, and Fernando returned on a Thursday to finish removing the rest of tree they did a really awesome job on removing it and a wonderful job cleaning everything up and not leaving it dirty.... I will recommend SavATree to all my friends and family!!! The sales person was nice his was name is Nate!!

We contracted with SavATree to have a row of large arborvitae removed from the back of our property. Nat was great to work with and came out quickly and gave us a very good price for the work. The work was performed by Franco and his team, and they were fantastic! It was a very rainy morning, and regardless, they cheerfully approached the work and had the trees down in short order. (To make their work much harder, they had to hand-carry everything through the yard to the truck/chipper parked in front of our house.) When they were done, they had everything cleaned up in record time, and except for the trees now being gone, you couldn t tell they had ever been here. I highly recommend SavATree.

They removed a dead fir tree, a couple of cedars that were too close to the road, and cleared out the rest of the dead branches in the pin oaks that the wind had been knocking down. If you value your trees stay away from this company. Theyre not arborists, theyre lumberjacks and theyre much more concerned with their bottom line than actually saving your trees. Theyll say anything to get paid for cutting down your trees even if the trees are perfectly healthy. As I write this theyre outside my house cutting down a healthy 12 year old maple because they convinced the HOA president that it needed to come down as soon as possible. Needless to say the HOA president isnt the brightest and Im sure the estimator is laughing all the way to the bank.

Jose and the crew did an absolutely awesome job! They removed 2 large trees and 2 smaller ones. They did lots of thinning, & removed branches above roof line. It looks amazing & they cleaned up wonderfully! I always feel like I got more done than I hoped for, we have an acre yard, and there is always lots needed. We were also pleased to have them dump our wood chips on site, which I can use for mulching in some areas. They do absolutely wonderful work!

Contreras and his team were very professional and did a great job removing 3 Aspen trees which, unfortunately, were dying back. They even seemed to have some fun climbing and swinging branches around! Sorry I didn t get any pictures but the efficiency with which they removed the trees in a difficult corner of the yard was impressive. TLDR: This team is a well oiled machine. They know what theyre doing, you will be in great hands, and the prices are reasonable. Long read: My home is in a forested area, and long overdue on tree maintenance. I was nervous to dive into tree care as the cost always felt prohibitive (even though I know its so necessary!). Trevor was confident and knowledgable. We walked around my property and discussed all the trees I was worried about. I thought we needed to take out 6-7 deadish trees - but Trevor explained what was urgent, and what would breakdown naturally (and safely) overtime. He pointed out a few home care items, and what to look for as far as future tree issues. We settled on removing 2 trees and raising a few others over the house. Needless to say, I was pleasantly surprised. We had one moment of confusion between the estimate and the work start on our property, but Angela cleared everything up, and the whole team was on the same page in under 10 minutes. I felt very taken care of. The arborists were considerate, kind and communicative. They had all the work done and cleaned up in a few hours. Everything looks great, Ill sleep easier at night knowing branches and trees wont be falling on us anytime soon. Ill def rely on them in the future and highly recommend. Thanks, SavATree!

We have used North West Tree (SavATree) for a number of years and they have always done an excellent job. This time it was no different. Nat, the arborist, was there the day the job started to review with us all that needed to be accomplished and review the assignment with Contreras, the trimming team leader. The job was performed much to our satisfaction. The cleanup was thorough, and the neighbors driveway, that was used for accessing one of our trees, was thoroughly cleaned and blown off as well. We would highly recommend North West Tree (SavATree) and Contreras and his team for all tree trimming.

Nat and his crew did a great job for cutting down two big maples in front of our house. Service setup and scheduling were smooth, prep instructions were kindly provided, and cost was competitive as well. Highly recommended!

My mom had a tree snap in half with the upper portion landing in the neighbors yard. The base was about 20 high and still standing in the ground in her yard. I called and they agreed to come out the next morning. Took a quick looked and give me a bid within 2 hours. We scheduled the work for late the following week. They arrived on time and cut down the base in sections. Next they used a massive woodchipper which easily ground up the trunk and all of the branches very quickly. Sure it was loud but very efficient. Next they cleaned both yards as best they could and without asking they even repaired the fence! Over all I am very pleased and would highly recommend them to any one.

We had a tree limb that fell during one of the wind storms. Neil came out and inspected the trees on my property and provided valuable insight to the health of the trees and other plants in our yard. We decided to have multiple trees removed. Neil and his team handled all the permitting, which made the process super smooth. It was a great experience and would definitely use them again.

Went with SavATree for some winter maintenance, remove a small dead maple in my back yard and trimming branches next to my home, cable and power lines. They were prompt, professional and did an amazing job. I was especially impressed because due to my steep driveway they were unable to easily access the work zones and were required to do much of the work by climbing versus using the bucket without complaint. Definitely recommend and will use their services for upcoming projects.

A large, old pine fell against my house due to a wind and rain storm in the middle of the night. It knocked out power, cable and phone. NW Tree Specialists was there the very next morning. Their crew was quick and did a great job! Adam the estimator and Lauren in the office were so kind and helpful.

I am the landscape chair person for a small condo community in Tigard. We have been using NW Tree specialists for our tree pruning for awhile now. This year we also had NW Tree Specialists remove some dead trees behind the carports. The crew worked all day and did a great job. Eric, Arborist at large, is fabulous to work with. He has a great sense of humor, and good communication skills. Without reservation I highly recommend NW Tree Specialists for any of the services they offer. Very satisfied customers!

They do a great job. We have used them numerous times. The most recent was during the ice storm when part of our walnut tree landed on our house. Once again, prompt, did a great job, friendly and got things taken care of so we could get our power restored. They will be returning at a later date to remove the rest of the tree and clean up additional storm damage. Great people!

Arborwell just entered the Portland area and I opted to use them when my regular arborists were swamped from a recent ice event. Easily one of the best service companies Ive ever dealt with. Eric came out to consult with us on taking down a 50-60 foot Willow tree that was on our property and encroaching on our neighborss fence and causing roofing issues. And we had a Cedar tree near our property line and needed to have the canopy raised. He was smart, engaging and charming. He knew his stuff and answered all of our questions honestly and in laymens terms. He gave us a quote on the spot and we set up an appointment. I was at work and was unable to watch his crew and now Im sorry I didnt get to see it. When I got home and saw the fantastic job they did, I was stunned. Definitely Recommend Northwest Tree Specialists We had 2 HUGE, half dead looming over our house, Black Locust Trees and a few dead birch trees that had to come down. Eric came out to evaluate the situation. He was charming, upbeat, and very knowledgeable. The crew arrived on time and somehow managed to take down everything without damaging our new fence (not easy). They were so skilled and professional. The stump grinder fellow arrived the next day with his amazing machine and did an excellent job. We are completely satisfied. :)

Ive use their tree pruning service in the past. Recently, I needed some additional work. The crew lead refused to wear a mask for a site walk-thru with me. When I insisted, another crew member got masks out of the truck but lead refused to put it on. He left, saying they would come back, when you feel more comfortable. I will never feel comfortable doing business with a company whose employees show such flagrant disregard for public health practices and customer safety.

HIGHLY RECCOMEND. We hired them for tree trimming and to check our many trees overall health. Amazing from free on-site quote cleaning up the work area and great communication. Cant say enough good words. My only gripe is they they are pretty busy so we had to wait a few weeks from the quote till they were able to come. They arrived on time wearing masks. They were super careful not to damage any of the other garden plants when taking large limbs down. One of my neighbors was upset about the chainsaw and fire conditions but they calmly explained and handled his concern with professionalism and grace. When they finished they did a fantastic job of cleaning the entire are and removing all the dry/dead branches. Could not have had a better experience.

Northwest Tree Specialists have taken care of redwood tree trimming along the street, removed a pesky apple tree and removed a very large branch that fell on our house during a wind storm. Highly Recommend Northwest Tree Specialists. They fearlessly took down a huge evergreen with wires in the way and close to our home and our neighbors. They arrived on time and cheerfully went to work. They were very careful and did not do any damage to our property. They did a wonderful cleanup as well. A few days later the tree stump removal fellow arrived and somehow maneuvered his machine through our fence gate and carefully around our plantings. He removed all tree roots and left us with smiles. Eric, truly a charming fellow, was our first contact and he has been so very helpful with his timely advice and knowledge. This is the second time we have had Northwest remove trees for us. Once again, Northwest Tree Specialists were wonderfully professional. We met with Eric Turner who, like two previous arborists from this business, spoke very knowledgeably about the current health and needs for our trees. We have very tall oaks and firs, and some are old. We wish to enjoy them for a long time with pruning and deadwood removal that is deemed necessary. Eric walked with us from tree-to-tree, commented on each one with advice for each, and also gave do-it-yourself recommendations. We were also informed of options provided by them, and we noted that the services have been consistent. The team of arborists, including Eric, clearly know how to care for trees. We know that trees can sometimes be polarizing with neighbors. Eric understood our concerns, walked through trade-offs, and encouraged us to enjoy our trees. We really appreciate his professionalism and knowledge.

I was notified by the company the day before to remind me of the tree pruning. The workers arrived shortly before 8 and knocked on my door to let me know they had arrived. The gentlemen were very polite when I went into the street to watch as they worked on my tree and explained which branches they were removing and why some were being left for the health of the tree. They shredded the branches as they worked and left my tree looking well pruned and my yard tidy. Very pleased!!

Ive used NW Tree Specialists a couple of times to care for the trees in my front yard and parking strip, and the service has been excellent every time. The arborists have been punctual and knowledgable. The most recent experience is a great example of how this company and their people operate. The arborist, Eric, arrived punctually, looked at both the neighbors trees (that I wanted trimmed because they were touching my house) as well as 3 trees on the parking strip and another tree in the yard. He left me with a written quote, and followed up within a day with a typed quote (the written quote had a bunch of different options, depending on what I could get my neighbors to agree to). His communication over email was very responsive, and patiently answered questions directly from my neighbors. He took care of getting the required permit from the city to prune the trees on the parking strip. This was all arranged and scheduled a couple months in advance (August to December, for when it was better to prune). Eric followed up the week before the pruning date, and answered last minute questions from the neighbors, finally securing the written permission needed for the pruning to be done properly on the tree, rather than just at the fence line (which was our only possible option if he didnt get permission to work on their property). The yard was, I swear, much tidier when they were done than when they started! The trees look much better, and Im happy with the entire experience. Ill continue to be a repeat customer, thank you NW Tree Specialists!

Called and asked for an estimate to prune some trees in early June. Chris W came and gave estimate; I was told that I would receive call to schedule appointment soon thereafter. I never heard from them. I called in early July to see when service would be done and was told my paperwork (proposal) was lost. Was asked to send over a copy of the proposal, which I did and confirmed receipt by NW Tree Specialists. I was told service would be scheduled soon. I have not heard back from them. If this company is so sloppy as to lose my proposal twice, I will not trust them in this job. My advice would be don t waste your time with this company and look elsewhere. There are plenty of reputable professionals in the area.

We used NW Tree Specialists simply because we drive by one of their trucks almost daily and know the name. We couldnt be happier with the service. We had 10 overgrown/dead arborvitae removed from various places on our property, as well as had a plum, apple, cherry and maple tree thinned and pruned. A crew of 3 (or 4) men showed up within two weeks of first contact, and got to work immediately after confirming what I needed done. They finished in 4-ish hours including the removal of all of the branches and debris. A few days later a gentleman came by and ground out the stumps. All the crew I spoke with were friendly and would explain what they were doing and provided tree care advice for the following seasons. The only negative is that I found one of my sprinkler heads snapped off and lying on the ground and nobody told me. I suspect it was damaged when a tree was dragged by, as the sprinkler was smack in the middle of the narrow path around the house. Not a huge deal and I didnt even mention it to them when I paid the bill as I can repair it myself. Im not deducting any stars because accidents happen. :) And finally, they came in below our estimated budget which was great to see. We will definitely be using these guys again.

My friend from work recommended them and I got a quote from them and about 4 other tree services. The arborist that came to our house was really helpful. I really like the itemized quote they gave us and we sort of picked services we could afford. Most vendors combined the entire job as one quote. We broke the cutting down of the tree and the stump grinding as two jobs spread over a month so we could afford it. The team they sent to cut down the tree was very professional. They even showed me the damage from the bark beetle that caused the tree to die in the first place.

We have an easement that goes through our private property and security cameras that cover who goes up and down, and the speed is posted clearly on this private road. My wife and I watched on security tape as one this companies small trucks fly up our road with a larger truck with chipper in tow who actually did the posted speed. My wife called and asked them to slow down due to pets and kids and the speed limit is posted so please respect our property you are using to get to your clients. The receptionist said she would call them and let them know.Needless to say when they left same thing happened...... small truck shows no respect for our property while the large truck did. Once again my wife calls and the receptionist apologized. Remember your names are on your trucks and personally it shows a lack of respect to the public. To the gentlemen who was driving the large truck thank you for showing respect.

I have used Northwest Tree Specialists many times over the past 10 years, and they have always provided top-notch professional services. This time was no exception---I had a very large 8 foot tree stump I needed removed and a cherry tree that was in dire need of a good pruning. Rick did the initial estimate and recommended an orchard prune for the cherry tree. The estimation process and the scheduling all went without a hitch. Not surprisingly, the date for the work slipped by a few days as it had been scheduled for a week after the January snow storm; actually I was surprised that it only slipped a few days, as we all remember the city coming to a complete halt for a good 3 or 4 days. Kyle did the actual pruning of the cherry tree, discussed with me beforehand what his ideas were for it, and I have to say I was amazed by what a good job he did; its really a different tree now. I will definitely be calling these folks back on an annual basis to keep the tree in as good a shape as they left it this time. All the debris was hauled away and the yard left in clean condition. A mention should also be made of the ladies who staff the phones....always polite, helpful and professional. I dont know why anyone would not use these folks for their tree work.

Easy to schedule for both estimate and service. They gave the estimate on the spot (I had some bad luck with other companies that either did not show up or never emailed me the estimate after muliple requests). They double checked with me over the phone and on arrival that I still wanted the work done the way I originally requested, which I appreciated because I was waffling on the height of an overgrown shrub. Came when scheduled, were fast, cleaned up well, and did a great job. I spent the next week or two thinking, It looks so much better, every time I went outside

The crew cut down part of my birch tree and it hit the back of my house. I ran outside and asked what happened and hey denied that it hit the house. I was in the room where it hit and there was a huge crash; Im not sure how they thought they couldve denied what happened. I point out to them they dented/damaged my gutter and then they acknowledged the error. I then called the supervisor advised him what had happened and the companys safety manager came out to inspect the damage and obviously discussed whey happened with the crew. Upon receiving the bill it was $100+ than it was estimated to be. I believe the charged me for the time it took for the safety manager and the crew to review the incident. I had to call the company and dispute the extra charges. They removed the extra charges. I will never use this company again; the crew lead was unethical!

One of there trucks blew threw a red light today it wasnt even yellow straight red and almost hit me. Makes me question how safe they are....

Amazing job! Rick came out to asses our newly purchased home and yard. He was knowledgeable and informative. The price was very fair and lower than we expected. That, along with his polite demeanor encouraged us to hire NW Tree Specialists. The job they did was incredible! We had multiple weeping cypresses and a HUGE overgrown willow among some large unruly maples. We also had a tree removal done of a tree that was growing into our deck. The yard looks clean and healthy. If it werent for newly manicured trees I would have never known they were there. Very tidy, left no evidence of any work being done. We will definitely use them for all our future arborist needs.

I have had the pleasure of working with Scott at two properties I managed. Scott has always been wonderful, helpful, and no other company has yet to beat them on pricing. The crew that was at my property yesterday 12/7/17 was amazing. I was informed that they were seeing smoke from an apartment and heard alarm. They jumped in helped me evacuate the building, they helped the elderly get out of there apartment safely and were a huge support for myself. Without them I don t know if things would have turned out as good as they did. There ended up being no actual fire yet, but would have been if it had gone on much longer. I can t thank them enough for all they did. I will continue to use NW Tree Specialist for any tree work needed at any property I am at. They tried charging my elderly mother 600 for 4 people to cut her tree at $125 hr per person and it shouldnt take no more then 2 people to cut the tree its not that big of a tree and they messed up the tree sooo bad they actually took chunks out of the tree and its totally uneven underneath and everywhere and they left a mess all over the ground and yard of tree clippings everywhere and the manager came out to talk to my mom and they tried taking advantage of a 84 yr old woman their is nothing they can do to fix the tree at this point it looks horrible and if anymore is cut off it will ruin the tree I would never recommend this company services to anyone please beware

They tried charging my elderly mother in law for 4 people $125 a hr to trim her tree she has had her tree trimmed for years it has always only taken 2 people and the tree looks horrible it has chunks taken out of the tree plus its all uneven and they had the audacity to send out a manager that was only trying to take more advantage of her honestly at this point you cannot fix the tree besides letting it grow out if you cut anymore off you will ruin the tree and they left tree clippings all over the yard and everywhere I would never recommend their service to anyone

The team from Northwest Tree arrived on time and went to work immediately. Their equipment is top notch. This job involved going very high to trim the necessary branches and they were able to do that because of their skills and equipment. Their clean up was superb. I thought I would be doing at least some of that, but I did not have to do a thing in that area after they left.

From the moment my husband and I began talking about having our dangerously overgrown pear tree taken down, I knew we would be calling NW Tree Specialists. They had done an outstanding job of removing two dying birch trees on our property a couple of years ago. We had every confidence that we would again receive outstanding service from their experienced and efficient crew, and were especially pleased that we received timely service and that they thoroughly cleaned up our grounds before they left - all at a very affordable and reasonable cost. This time, we were relieved to have the expert advice of the extremely knowledgeable arborist who came to discuss the decision to possibly remove our pear tree, which had contracted a fungus. After conferring with him, we immediately booked the work to be done - no need to get any other estimates when you trust the company and know their work ethics and expertise. Though it saddened us to lose our pear tree after nearly 37 years, we hope to replant another tree near its prior spot, and we know that if we ever need care for our many other trees, it will definitely be done by the great staff at NW Tree Specialists. Northwest Tree Specialists answered the phone, answered all my questions and took care of the rather large lot of trees I have and all at a very reasonable price. They left my yard clean and left the firewood in an unobtrusive location for me. They even offered to break the payments up into three which works great on a budget.
