New Generation Landscape in Hillsboro

I called New Generation Landscape and spoke to Maria in April, and she said she would call me back with the information I had requested. I left seven subsequent messages, from April to August, but they never called back, which was frustrating. I then left an earlier version of this Google review and got a reply to it within hours! After that, I called them an eighth time, and they finally called me back the next day. Because they finally called, Im upgrading to a 3-star review so I dont hurt their business. (Jorges reply below is to my earlier, 1-star review.)

We have hired New Generation twice now and both times have been fantastic. The first time we need full scale landscape design ideas but we re not sure what was going to be in the budget. Jorge listened to our thoughts and put together a full scale design with price breakdowns which allowed us to do some large things to start. Recently we called them to come handle a side yard that we wanted covered. Jose listened to our two options and gave us price quotes for both. Both times the work has turned out fantastic, pricing is fair and upfront, and everyone is so hard working and reliable. We chose them based off reviews and it was an excellent decision. We will be hiring them in the future for any further landscaping needs. Highly recommend New Generation.

I had them come out and give me an estimate for work on my property. They were quick about getting it to me and the work they have done was really good.

Jorge & Jose helped us with our backyard project during summer last year. My wife and I designed it and they executed pretty well. Work quality is great. Overall we are very happy with their work! We recommended them for backyard work to our friends.

Jose and his team were professional, courteous, and diligent in building our retaining wall and adding pavers to our existing walkway. They used the materials we specified, made suggestions to improve the look and function of our design, and completed the job promptly with no issues.

Jorge snd his crew were fantastic! He told me weeks in advance the team will be on our property on July 5th and they were there shortly after 8 am that day and EVERY day after until the job was complete! (Those of us who live on the Coast know that often does not happen!) Jorge was in close communication with me and very responsive to all matters. He transformed our backyard from a sandlot to a beautiful hardscape oasis for entertaining family and friends. I would HIGHLY recommend Jorge and would use them again in heartbeat for other landscape projects!

Jorge provided a design concept after we discussed what we wanted. The design was exactly what I was looking for, with a patio with a fire pit, a gazebo, and gardens. The garden looks beautiful! Jorges folks worked hard and responded quickly to any questions or concerns. Would highly recommend them!

Our backyard was quite unusable because it was on a gradient and had lots of lawn. So we wanted to make it usable and a friend recommend calling New Generation Landscape. Jorge came to look at the backyard and understood our requirements, then came back with a detailed and clear drawing of the proposal. Jorge and Maria addressed all our questions and doubts patiently. Once we decided to move forward, his crew (Marcos, Jose, Jose, Manuel) came and did an outstanding job. Great work and very responsive team. They always do a great job when they come and work on my home and not only are they professional but they re also really friendly. They came today and fixed some sunken pavers and my two kids watched from our window the whole time the man was working. He entertained them while I was able to get some much needed me time.

I highly recommend New Generation Landscape. We asked for help on a very weedy, poorly draining section of our yard. Along with fixing the drain issue, I wanted a natural stone pathway with native landscaping. Jorge new immediately how to fix the draining issue and the landscaping is better than I could have ever imagined. Huge wow! I can t wait to spend time back there now. We also had them add a paver extension to our patio and create a fire pit space. It all looks great. The crew is amazing! Very friendly and meticulous about cleaning up at the end of the day. We ll definitely have them back for any future projects. Update: A few years later and the yard looks great.

Jorge is the best! We couldnt be happier with our new back yard. Its totally transformed how we live and use our space. It went from being an unusable, mossy, wet, and overgrown yard to an open, inviting, comfortable yard that my family loves. Now wed rather eat and hang out outside than at the dinner table. Jorges team re-graded the whole back yard, installed rock and drain pipe so it wouldnt stay wet like before. Game changer! Wow. Wow, wow, wow. Honestly, that s all I can say. I am currently sitting in my newly transformed oasis of a backyard, and couldn t be happier. We are so pleased with how our front and backyard landscaping turned out! It is simply gorgeous! Our project included a new irrigation system, sod, a creek-like water feature with 3 waterfalls, landscape lighting, paver pathways, two tall trellises, 2 large raised garden beds with irrigation, plants, shrubs, and trees to create an inviting retreat with privacy. Our expectations were exceeded by New Generation Landscape! Owner Jorges vision for our space was perfect. He took all we were hoping for and turned it into the yard of our dreams. In the draft we were hesitant on a few things (wired landscape lighting, keeping an old, overgrown Japanese maple, and the paver pathway), but in the end he was absolutely correct. Jorge and New Generation Landscaping were one of 3 companies I talked to when we decided to get our backyard fixed up this Spring. They had the best overall plan and broke everything out with a cost associated with it so it made it very easy to pick and choose what work we would have them do and what we would wait and do latter. They responded quickly for an initial estimate, gave us a design and worked with us to tweak it to our liking while providing their experienced suggestions. Our backyard was a blank page, and we knew what we were looking for, however most companies were limited to just pavers, and would not build us what we were looking for. Our next door neighbor recommended NGL to us, and Jorge came out and we worked together to draft plans that met our vision. He was able to effectively execute what we wanted - a raised concrete wall with trees inside. We wanted clean straight lines throughout, and he made that happen for us. We are very happy with the backyard. When issues have come up with irrigation, plants, etc. he has been very responsive to address any concerns. The contract comes with warranty on the plants, irrigation, etc. - and hes great about taking care of things after theyre done. Id recommend him to anyone looking to do custom work.

We have used new generation landscape twice now. Both times have been excellent. Very competitive pricing, fast service, friendly workers and absolutely extraordinary results. The boss is a perfectionist and at least one of his workers is an artist. I would highly recommend them.

I had standing water in my yard and water in my crawlspace, and my thought was to get a French drain. Jorge from New Generation, whom a neighbor recommended, arrived and the first thing he did was to check my downspouts, and he found they were not carrying water to the street. Tree roots had broken them down and water would flood under my house. He gave me a three-part, detailed estimate, part of which was a French drain and part was the correcting of the drains to the street. He explained if they were able to solve the problem with part one of his estimate, part two would not have to be done; and, true to his word, on the second day of the work he announced we could go with the simpler plan, saving me money. I was extremely pleased with his honesty. Some concrete had to be dug up and then replaced -- it is done perfectly. Two trees and a large bush were removed and they took care of that at a good price. All work was cleaned up at the end of each day. He also checked my irrigation to see that it worked after the job was done and even put down complimentary fresh bark dust to finish the job. Jorge is a gem and he also has a great crew. They are efficient, prompt, knowledgeable, hardworking, polite and friendly. Jorge is willing to explain exactly what needs to be done (sometimes patiently more than once!) and is careful about outlining expenditures. His work is guaranteed for two years. I very highly recommend Jorge and New Generation Landscape.

First off pricing is very competitive. I was nervous about them being the cheapest price but in the end I went with them and decided to take a chance. Day 1 everything looks great and the quality and detail of the work is perfect for my standards. They completed the job early which was another plus. My only suggestion for the company would be to communicate better with your customers. They where slow to respond to emails and phone calls. If it wasnt for the fact I had to wait on MY HOA I might have passed on them for lack of communication. Since I wasnt in a rush it ended up working out and so far Im glad u went with them.

Contacted Jorge as a result of a referral. Left a voicemail message and Jorge returned my call the same day and within a couple days, he was at our residence to review our project. We needed a retaining wall and steps replaced due to rotting wood material. Jorge had an estimate to us within 24 hours which included Allen Block and steps, and walkway from our front side yard to our back yard. Amazingly, the project is already complete and looks fabulous. Jorge and his crew are wonderful and very accommodating. Glad that we made the connection!

Six years ago, I laid pavers on dirt along the side of my house and out to the alley. It was an improvement over walking in mud, but the path was never quite straight or level. It really didnt look good and I worried that it was a hazard. Finally I decided to get them fixed. From the day Jorge came out to bid the work, I had confidence in him. He was friendly and professional, and his bid was lower than the other company I talked to. Jorge sent two men to do the job. They removed the old pavers, dug out and leveled the bed, filled it with gravel and sand, then replaced the pavers. One of the workers suggested a curve instead of the 90 degree corner in the previous path. He had the skill and equipment to do it well. They did the whole job in a bit over one day. I am very pleased with their work. I will call them again next time I need something done in the yard.

We needed to stop the erosion of our back hillside and being new to the neighborhood, we asked our surrounding neighbors for a recommendation. They immediately referred us to this company. They pointed out several other homes on our block who had also used them for building retaining walls and stairs and that was enough. We didnt even get other quotes. Their work was beautiful. Their owner, Jorge Escot, was quick about giving me an estimate, returned my calls and emails within the day, and their workers, especially Marcos, were very knowledgable and hardworking. Marcos built us a beautiful camas grey stone retaining wall with gravel and french drain behind it, along with a matching stairway. They also planted our new trees in this area and added to our existing irrigation system.

Jorge and his team were amazing. They showed up on time. They worked hard each and every day to finish the project on time. They were able to adapt to minor changes to our plan along the way. I cant say enough good thing about their abilities. The project was not an easy one. Our backyard was basically a sloping hill. They built up a retaining wall, leveled the landing, added sod, installed a very complex irrigation system, built steps using slabs of blue stone, added stone to a couple concrete walls, planted about 300 plants, and built an amazing fence. They were on top of it from start to finish.
