We had an excellent experience with Shayne! He was incredibly quick to respond and remove the 2 stumps in my yard (one being very large). Not only was the work done efficiently, but the quality of service was top-notch. The stump removal was thorough, leaving my yard looking clean and tidy. The price was also very reasonable, especially considering the high level of service. Shayne was friendly and professional, making the entire process smooth and hassle-free. We used Newton Stump Grinding over the last week to remove seven trees (two large Bradford pears, three large Leyland cypress trees, a large birch and a maple), remove two ornamental bushes and to trim two large crepe myrtles. All of the trees had issues (rotting, splitting, leaning, etc.) and we knew something had to be done to ensure that we were not going to have long term problems. The duo (Shayne and his wife Katherine) also grinded up all the stumps! They also removed a large brush pile that had accumulated over the last several years. The job was a lot of work that took several days and multiple trips to the dump (and he also dropped off several loads of mulch to my son’s house in Newton). I initiated contact with Newton Stump Grinding based on the Google reviews. The end-to-end experience worked out very well. Shayne was quick to respond to my quote request (we had three quotes and their price came in the most competitive), effectively communicated through out the process and did a great job completing the work. I will definitely use them for future tree related work. Thank you again Shayne and Katherine!!

Great price, on time, quieter than expected. This was a big job—84 stumps on a 20% grade and it was done within 3 days. Provided proof of insurance quickly. On top of all that, this fellow was a real pleasure to work with. Never seen anyone work so hard and he was super polite. Privilege to see a small business owner work so hard and I couldn’t be happier with the job. Enthusiastically recommend.

We had the best service from this company. I called and immediately received a message. Within 3 days this wonderful man came cut and removed a 20 ft tree from property. We can't express how pleased we are with the results. If you want a tree removed or stump removed he is the one to call.
Newton Stump Grinding has done work for my church in Terrell on two different occasions. Shayne has been professional, courteous and prompt through out grinding stumps of 6 feet across. Left the areas in good condition for the lawn care service to replant the area with grass and a replacement tree. Found NSG to be reasonably priced when compared with two other competitors. Without hesitation, I highly recommend this company.

Horrible experience - had me waiting for 5 days to get my tree done after changing the day 3 different times. When he finally showed, it was over an hour late, (no call or anything) with no apologies and then said he changed his mind. He did not even bother to come to my door to let me know he had arrived. I just happened to hear a car door and he had went to my back yard with the guy he had brought, who was complaining that it was gonna be alot of work. I had someone else to do a major job 2 days before he came, and only waited for him because I believe in keeping my word and he had already accepted the job, but I was very disappointed. It was quite an inconvenience since I already had the other tree service at my house only hours before and it could have been done. I was even willing to pay him the price he quoted, which was a little pricey, considering he was only trimming some limbs. Several people thought the price he was asking was the amount for taking down the tree. He had been there to see the tree and even video taped it for his helper to see, so I dont understand how you can just change your mind after having someone waiting and depending on you. My time is very valuable and he acted as if it wasnt. I had explained to him that there was an urgency because I was having other work done to my home, but needed the trees done before. He appeared to be nice at first, but his attitude shifted once he knew he would not be doing the job and I felt very disrespected and would not recommend him to any of my friends/family.
