Nick and his team did a FABULOUS job sodding my back yard and trimming some trees and bushes. They took extra care to make sure all of my walkway slate was placed and set properly. The product, job execution, and clean-up was excellent and everyone was so nice and courteous. I will definitely keep them on speed-dial for future projects. I highly recommend them.
Used this company for aeration and over seeding and Nick and his crew were prompt in reply to my inquiry, very professional, with competitive rates for the services provided. They were prompt and the level of care put into the work was top notch. A true pleasure to do business with someone who runs such an efficient and professional outfit. I will continue to use them for any landscaping needs that I can't do myself and I look forward to it! If you're considering contracting anything out in your yard, stop looking and go with these guys!
I happened along Brains and Brawn at least a year ago. They have never failed to be timely, efficient, courteous and very responsive with email and texting. If they expand to some handyman services, I'd trust those to also be performed to my satisfaction. Another little bonus: while I try to keep the dogs out of their way, they haven't minded when my dogs hang out with them if they're working in the backyard picking up sticks or pulling some vines out. I'm quite pleased with and grateful for their services.
Nick and his crew did an amazing job on our lawn! My backyard has a lot of ivy (some poisonous). I had the company remove a large bed of ivy and put mulch over it as well as trim some long branches that was leaning well into the yard. The crew that was working were very polite and worked fast! When an unexpected downpour came they continued to work until the rain was just too much. They made sure not to leave any mess around, however they left us with a better looking yard. Thanks so much!
I cannot speak highly enough of Brains and Brawn Home Services. Nick has always been extremely easy to work with and beyond professional. Between their professionalism, punctuality and friendly nature there is not another businiess in Richmond I would recommend more. I have used them twice for moving and both times have been extremely impressed. Highly recommend!!
The services that Brains & Brawn perform are above par. Nick the owner, has made my backyard look so green & beautiful. He pays a visit & calls to check the progress of the work then gives advise on how to maintain. They do a fantastic job. Always respond promptly and arrive on time, as well as let me know when they are near by so I’m not surprised by their arrival. Very easy to work with and hard workers. If I need basically anything done I just call and ask them to be my hands and muscles. They are knowledgeable but also don’t mind saying they aren’t sure about something. Overall an amazing trustworthy service, they make sure you are happy before leaving and always deliver.
Nick and his team were AMAZING! The communication was perfect. He answered all of my questions, walked me through the entire process and immediately put me at ease for our long distance move. The day of the move the team showed up as scheduled and went right to work. They also took the time to explain how they were going to tackle some of our larger, heavier and fragile items. I'd recommend them to anyone in Richmond looking for movers. They were professional, courteous and handled our items with care.

I used B&B for miscellaneous services inside my home. They were professional, on time, and took great care to make sure everything met my expectations. I couldnt be more pleased. Will be calling them again.
They were quick to respond with a quote and perform the work of trimming my hedges. They did a job in a couple of hours that I never could get a handle on by myself.
I ve watched this company work in my neighbor s yard many times and they are always hard working and efficient. I spoke with the owner Nick this morning and he was kind and respectful. While I haven t used his services yet, I will definitely call when I need them. Highly recommend!

We used their moving service which is no longer available, but the service was professional quality and fast. They would do a good job at whatever service they provide. My calls were always returned within 24 hours or sooner and they were always on time.

We ve been amazed by transformation of our yard (which we never thought could grow grass). Brains and Brawn brings a talented and professional crew, at a price that won t break the bank.
We randomly saw Brains and Brawn working on a driveway in our area and took a picture of the sign on his truck. After reaching out to them, Nick responded almost immediately to come take a look at our project, which was to add off street parking in front of our house. He gave us some great suggestions and more importantly, set (and kept) a realistic timeline of availability. Once the date was set, Nick kept in constant contact with me throughout the design and material stages so that we knew exactly what was best for us. His recommendations were spot on. Communication is the key to any successful business, Once work commenced, Nick and team worked through less than ideal conditions and delivered a crushed stone and cobblestone lined parking area that is the envy of our neighbors. There is nothing that I could add to improve our experience. This company is going to be big...get on board now!

My uncle lives in Richmond and he recently broke his forearm in a fishing accident. His yard was getting full of debris over the course of the winter because he couldnt pick it up himself. For Christmas, I surprised him with a full service yard mowing, cleanup and pruning! Brains and Brawn showed up on time, did a great job and my uncle couldnt have been happier. Would recommend!
