Moving on from this company due to extremely poor customer service. I was a customer for two seasons. 1st year was great. This past year was terrible. Lawn Ranger failed to return calls, when inquiring on ways to reduce the weed growth and improve our lawn. Final straw was I was billed for an application that never happened. I was home that day they said they came by and I never saw them. They leave a marker each time to show they were there and there wasn’t a marker left. When I called to verify and complain, no call back. 3 attempts over 3 months to reach them. Each time their Customer Service says, we will have so and so call you back. Never happened. They sent ‘friendly reminder’ statements to pay and threatened collections. Thanks Lawn Ranger. What a joke of an operation.
Our lawn looked terrible after they sold their company to a new owner whose service is no good. We canceled their service but they billed me for one application after that. I told them I will pay but write a negative review about them. They told me to go ahead and write. I realized the new company is totally different from the old one and they won't last long. I'm so glad I switched to a new lawn service.
After loosing our favorite lawn care to retirement and soliciting recommendations from several neighbors we chose The Lawn Ranger for our lawn care needs. The first years service was excellent. Wally and his technicians really improved our yard and in no time our grass was as green and lush as our neighbors. That was 2022-2023 But! Fast forward to February 2024. Wally retired. His business was sold to Fairway Lawns based in Little Rock, Arkansas. Several of their technicians resigned. Those remaining are overworked. Office personnel were dismissed and no one replaced them. Phone calls go to a central answering service in Arkansas. Quality is dismal. In 7 months my lawn has been destroyed. It now looks like it did 7 years ago when we purchased the property. A year ago I would swear by The Lawn Ranger. Today I’ll only swear at them. Don’t waste your money on The Lawn Ranger. Wally, un-retire and buy the company back!
I do not write many reviews, but after looking at the comments I decided I needed to. The Lawn Ranger is not a one application and fix your problem or issue company. It takes probably 2-3 applications to start noticing a difference and 18-24 months for all the work and the specific yard plan to be fully realized. I knew the price was higher than most other competitors and decided over Covid to make a change to a competitor. Within 6 months I went back to Lawn Ranger. I do from time to time have to call them to come back to re treat areas or a specific weed, but have never had any customer service issues the others speak of. The real payoff is the overseed and aeration (I had sticker shock), but within 3 weeks my yard was greener and fuller with healthier seedlings than I have every gotten from any bag of grass seed bought on my own (Site one, Lowes, co-op, and Home Depot) to name a few. I was also pleasantly surprised at how few weeds came out of their fescue blend. There are a few applications (fescue yards are on a 7 application process) that need the ground to be damp or wet for the fertilizer or herbicide to work effectively and get taken up by the roots. So if you see them doing work when it is raining it is probably ok.
My yard has weeds. Has not done well this year! I need expert help. I called Lawn Ranger, the representative provided a quote for services. I paid in advance for 3 treatments. The treatment tech showed up and said he could not treat the yard. Said wrong time of year, then said my quote was incorrect and the service would be more expensive. I asked for a return of my money. They said first a manager would call me. Four days later after several calls to the office, no call from a manager! I disputed the charge on my credit card! I would never suggest this company! They Bate and Switched me, and then say they can’t reverse the charge and must mail me a check!
Good first year. This year lawn looks like it did with no service. Called and they said a manager would come out. 5 days later after no call back, I cancelled service. Receptionist said "is reason Poor Service?" Like she probably hears that a lot.
Wickedly disappointed with the lack of service. We have sent emails and VM’s with no resolve. Our lawn looks terrible. May 31st was the last application. My wife finally spoke to someone today; they spoke to her in a condescending manner. Apparently, when the next application was to occur, our lawn was being cut and we were subsequently taken off of the service list. Why? And inform us? Our lawn looks far worse now; since we switched from Advance Lawn Care to The Lawn Ranger! Chickweed is everywhere, backyard looks terrible. When my wife spoke to someone, oh will put you back on the schedule. No apology, nothing. No date was shared when they will be out for service, nothing was ever mentioned that they will correct the issues. Why should we continue with The Lawn Ranger?
This is the worst company I have ever dealt with. They are non-responsive, do not answer phone or return messages. I needed fungicide a month ago and when they finally came out yard is ruined. Stay away
You get what u pay for. I used Lawn Ranger for 4 years ... made the mistake of pursuing a lower priced competitor in 2023. Big mistake. Back with Lawn Ranger for 2024.
We asked a neighbor, whose grass looked amazing, who they used for their lawn service and they highly recommended Lawn Ranger. We have used them now for almost 3 years. I have spoken with Wally a few times. Every time he came across like he had all day and was very helpful. Now, our grass looks amazing! I pay annually and the price is very reasonable....just a little more than the terrible service I used before.

We used Lawn Ranger for a year. The grass looked great. However, I do believe it is slightly overpriced. My real problem, though, is the employee who is in the office. There was not one time I called and spoke with her that she didnt speak to me as if I was a complete burden. She would huff and puff, and give pushback and attitude. Lets be honest....having your lawn fertilized for lush, green grass is a complete luxury purchase. This isnt a necessity. I would expect a kinder tone and a whole lot less attitude when I call in with a question. We cancelled our service.
They will put more fertilizer on your driveway than your lawn. Dont waste your money.
I love the job that they do on my lawn. They have gotten my weeds down to a minimum. They show up on schedule and do exactly what I am paying them to do. I recommend them highly.

Specifically asked Wally not to spray or come to my property without a phone call or email first. He said they can t do that. I swear Every time they come to spray my lawn it was raining and my grass needed cut. (Had to fit me in because they re so busy) Then I have to wait to cut and hope the rain didn t wash away the fertilizer. Wally has zero customer service skills. The whole phone conversation we had about it was him bragging about how many years experience he has and how he s never had a complaint about his service. I find that kinda hard to believe with his attitude. I still had weeds so had to call for a reapplication and my grass turned brown after the second service. But it wasn t his fault. Of course not. Maybe I m being harsh but as a customer if I make a request and I m paying for a service then that s what I should get. Wally said he wasn t gonna call before he came and told me to find someone else to do my lawn. Not to mention that I was paying a 160 bux a service for this. That s double or 3 times more than his competitors. I agreed because he promised me the moon on my lawn and told me how wonderful his fertilizer was . Boy was he wrong. Do yourself a favor and go with someone else.
I have used lawn ranger for several years. My lawn has steadily improved to where I am pretty much weedless with a lush lawn. I found them reasonably priced.
