I woke up on a Sunday morning a few weeks ago to find a large, dangerous sinkhole in my front yard after days of continuous heavy rains. I found Lake Norman Ent in a google search, called and spoke to Nick. He was over the house just a couple of hours later and we framed out a plan to determine and solve the source of the problem. Our home needed some TLC in the front yard anyway, so for my wife and I, this was the perfect excuse to expand the scope of work and give our home a curb appeal boost. Nick and his crew, led by Marcos (who by the way is awesome, super attentive to detail and very talented)... just completed a turnkey project including underground drainage, a new expanded driveway with Belgium block curbing, tree removal, grading, irrigation, new soil/seed and to top it off they converted our plain old concrete front porch to beautiful new pavers. We could not be more pleased with the level of craftsmanship of the finished product. The project ran very smoothly and efficiently. We were super impressed with Nicks communication throughout the project.

So glad I called nick at lake Norman excavating. I have been dealing with drainage issues and flooding in my yard in Smithtown. I have had multiple people weigh in on solutions (none could guarantee they would work) but no one has ever dialed in on the cause so quickly. He came out for a consult got right into the water and immediately figured out the water was flowing from and adjoining commercial property, then while still standing in my yard calls the town engineer and gets a joint solution going. He could have easily just run a pump, charged me 10 grand and walked away but he knew it wouldn t be a permanent solution. I have lived in Smithtown, NY for the past 7 years and have always had a drainage problem in my backyard. Basically, anytime it poured a large section of my yard would turn into a pond. The water would then sit for several days until it finally drained into the ground. I got tired of dealing with it, but wasn t sure where to turn. Searching the internet and reading the companies 5 star reviews is what led me to Lake Norman Excavating. To solve my drainage issue, Nick and his team installed a large dry well, a French drain system and excavated and graded the surrounding area. They even connected the gutters from my garage into the drywall. I am extremely happy with all the work and would definitely recommend their services to anyone in need of drainage help.

Few month ago I had my cesspool tank replaced, thoses guys obviously had to rip up my front yard along with some sprinkler lines. I spoke to Nick on the phone and he showed up to my house in about 30mins. I needed my sprinkler fixed, grading my lawn, good top soil and seeding. He was knowledgeable and gave me few options and was honest upfront about everything. Decided on the spot to give him the job, him and his crew showed up few days later and did an amazing job. My wife and I moved into a new house in June of 2022 and the grounds were neglected for some time. Completely overgrown and unlevel. I had called multiple excavation companies before contacting Nick. Some of which gave me a lead time of 3-4 weeks. I contacted Nick on a Tuesday, his guys were here on that Thursday at 7am and 95% of the job was completed by Friday. They even assisted with relocating my FiOS line to avoid an outage. Unfortunately, mother nature did not cooperate to get the job finished when expected, but Nick called me daily to inform me that as soon as the land dried out his guys will be here to finish the job. Sure enough, the land dried and his guys were here at 7am the next day to finish the job. Thanks for your expertise and constant communication.

Nick and his crew did a fantastic job removing my semi inground pool. He came over my home prior to the job and gave me a run down of what was going to occur. Day of the job, he and his team arrived on time. They diligently and neatly, removed the pool. They placed plywood on my driveway as they they filled the hole with dirt and top soil. As they brought in the dirt, they were constantly cleaning up after themselves. Beautiful job they did filling in ground, placed top soil and seed for the grass. This company did an Awesome job solving my yard drainage problem in Huntington Long Island . They are the best .

I called Lake Norman early spring after we had our pool put in late fall in Center Moriches. My yard was a mess and sprinkler system was torn to shreds by the pool company. Nick, the owner, answered his phone right away, and was at my home later that day to assess the job and give me a price. We agreed to do some drainage work, excavating and grading of the yard, moving our existing shed and a new back yard sprinkler system. Nicks schedule was busy, but when they came on site to start the job, I was impressed from the very beginning. The job soon morphed into sod being layed, and rocks being put around the pool, a complete re-zoning of our old sprinkler system, beds being cut, and even some trees being ripped out. Nicks top guy, Marcos, is amazing. He has hands of gold and can and will do anything you need, both skillfully and meticulously. His crew were also very efficient and very hard working. I have nothing but the highest compliments for them. Nick had a pre-planned vacation, but was in constant contact for the duration of the job. We were in very very very good hands with Marcos leading the way. Communication was easy, and each day Marcos let us know what was going on, what was done, and any questions or suggestions he had. Again, I cannot speak highly enough of this man and the work that he does. Our backyard went from a mess, to a thing of beauty thanks to Nick, Marcos and his crew. Again our job consisted of a complete sprinkler system install to replace old system, yard cleanup and excavating with fill, top soil, sod, beds being cut. Also stone around AC and pool filter units, rocks around perimeter of pool and fire pit, and a large shed being moved and leveled on a crushed RCA base. I am very happy with the job that Lake Norman provided us with and would highly recommend them for any job you may need. They really do do it all, and it was nice to have one company come in and handle all of our needs. Their work was extremely high quality and everything was very neatly done. I had demolition done, half dozen ten feet deep tree stumps removed, property regraded, French drains put in where needed. Two dozen Green Giants planted; river rocks put in around the fence line. Also had topsoil brought in, and 6000 sq. ft. of sod put in. All phases were done to top professional standards. The Forman Marco does the work like hes doing his own property.

Our yard needed to be cleared, graded and enlarged. Lake Norman came in with a professional crew (including women) who worked diligently and cleanly. Their equipment was new and care was taken to avoid damaging the front yard to the best of their ability. The foreman Marco was wonderful in listening to our concerns and made the whole process less stressful. Nick, thanks for supplying our family with a great blank canvass for our new backyard.

Nick and his crew did a fantastic job. I had water leaking into my basement due to poor yard drainage. The whole process was very organized and the team worked very hard from morning till evening. They were very transparent throughout the whole process and kept me informed of all the progress that was being made. They were also extremely clean and left the grounds in way better shape than it originally was. Overall, the job was fairly priced . Most importantly, I have not had any problems so far with water entering my basement despite recent heavy rain. I also have to say that Nick is extremely responsive and returns my phone calls in a very timely fashion. Nick and his crew did an amazing job at my house located in Bay Shore, New York in Suffolk County. I found Lake Norman Long Island Excavating on Google. 9/10 times I always make my decisions based on reviews. I had recieved a couple estimates from other companies that were priced lower but their reviews were 50/50 and the way the estimates went they didnt seem confident with their work. When I came across Lake Norman Excavating I noticed that every review that I read was great and everyone was pleased with their work, so I scheduled an estimate right away. When I purchased my house around 10 years ago I quickly noticed a lot of poor building mistakes as well as a lot of corners that were cut with renovations the previous owner had done. One of which was how the gutters were ran draining against the foundation of my house. Over the years I noticed it getting worse and worse and I knew Id have to have the property properly graded. The owner Nick and his foreman Marcos explained everything wrong with what was going on and walked me through step by step what they would do to fix it the right way, that way I wouldnt have any recurrences. They installed drainage pipes from the gutters which they ran to a dry well that they installed in my yard. They graded my entire property, removed tree stumps pushing up and on my PVC fence, installed a new sod lawn, installed a raised sewer cap so I wouldnt have to dig up my nice new lawn every time I need my cesspool pumped, installed a new sprinkler system, installed new PVC gates, removed an old concrete patio and driveway. They installed a new asfault driveway with paver border, a paver walkway, and a beautiful paver patio. Marcos laser leveled everything and made sure it was all pitched perfectly away from the house. He graded and leveled with surgical precision. He was meticulous with everything he did down to the smallest detail. They did an amazing job and I highly recommend Lake Norman Long Island Excavating and look foward to hiring them again on future projects I have planned.

Nick and team were absolutely amazing!! The entire process was very enjoyable. From the time I met Nick for the estimate all the way to the completion of the job he was nothing but professional. He estimated 3 days to complete the job and his team even in the rain knocked it out in 2!!! I highly recommend anyone that is looking for outside of their home upgrades to give Nick a call ASAP!! We moved in to our new home in Melville a little over a year ago and quickly learned that we have problems with drainage. Our house is on a hill and we were getting tons of stormwater runoff that would sit in our yard for days. The problem got even worse when we had a retaining wall built to try to level some of the property. We called Lake Norman and the owner, Nick, answered right away. He came over within an hour of and within another hour we made a deal for him and his crew to come over to install a french drain and regrade the property. Nick, his foreman Marcos, and their hardworking crew went above and beyond to troubleshoot and solve the problem. It turned out that we had a massive amount of hard, packed, clay soil that just wouldnt soak up any water. On top of that, the property was graded poorly and didnt allow water to run away from the yard. All told, Nick, Marcos and his crew carted away several truckloads of the garbage clay soil and replaced it with beautiful loamy material. Then they dug at least 15 feet down into the soil until they hit sand and installed a large dry well. They also installed a huge french drain behind our retaining wall which goes down at least 9 feet, well below the footing of the wall, and drains into sand. We really appreciated Lake Normans work so much that we ended up having them install beautiful sod to replace the grass after the project was finished and add a couple of other features to our landscaping. After our first rainstorm, which was pretty significant, we didnt have a single puddle. We are extremely satisfied and would highly recommend Lake Norman if you have drainage issues, especially here in the Melville/Strathmore Hills area. Now we are looking forward to using our beautiful yard in the spring without having to worry about having a soggy, muddy lawn. Nick, Marcos, and his crew are hardworking, meticulous, and a pleasure to work with. Nick is also extremely responsive and is very concerned that his customers are satisfied. He asked many times to make sure we are happy and even called a few weeks after they finished to make sure everything is okay. I dont think Ive had a better experience with a contracting company.

I filled the form to request a contact and someone called me back pretty quickly. The person on the phone seemed very agitated telling me how busy he was. So I asked him if he was interested in my business and his answer was yes, if you are willing to pay the price; and the most interesting is that he told me that even before I told him what the work was. Then I described the work very briefly and the person on the phone said it will cost you at least 10k, do you want to pay that kind of money to get the work done well!. I obviously hung up. This company seems only interested in getting your money and not doing the work. This was one of the weirdest experience; if you need this kind of service, stay away from them.

They came the next day to do our job which included removing a massive tree stump and excavating for our pool. Yard access had been an issue but Nick and his crew didnt let that stop them.They rented a smaller machine and got the job done.Very professional and reasonable and a pleasure to work with.I would highly recommend this company.

Lake Norman Excavating is a great operation. I live in Dix Hills. I needed demolition to remove a sunroom attached to my house. The owner, Nick is great to work with. He responded quickly to my call. I sent pictures of the job and he gave me an estimate. Price was fair. He then came over to personally see the job and confirmed his estimate. Scheduling was easy. Unlike other contractors, when he says he is showing up, he shows up. The job came out perfect. Not only did the project exceed expectations but the clean-up was way better than expected. Lake Norman Enterprises demolished and filled in our thick concrete swimming pool in West Hempstead. Nick was on site and supervised his great crew the entire time. I called Nick from Long Island Excavating and Drainage on Saturday afternoon of Labor Day Weekend and explained my problem. He quickly assessed what needed to be done and showed up the next morning. I live in Rocky Point, Long Island. There was water in my basement due to poor drainage in the window wells. He came in with his helper, Mario, and hand dug to find the old piping which was cracked and loaded with roots and dirt. He then carefully dug up my lawn with his backhoe , replaced the piping, back filled and graded. I would highly recommend Nick, to anyone needing excavation work or drainage work. In addition his pricing was more than reasonable for the amount of work required.

If I could give Nick and his company 10 stars I would. From the moment I called him back in April to the last day on the job Nick has been a pleasure to work with. We had a huge hill in our backyard covered in various types of foliage, bamboo, vines, thorns, stumps, bushes, etc. Nick gave us a very fair price for removing everything. He cleared all of the land, removed all of the stumps plus extra stumps we didnt know we had, graded the entire back yard, and put down amazing top soil for us. We could not be happier with the way our yard looks now. Nick is fair, honest, and easy to work with. He came on time every day, and did not stop until the work was done. I would recommend him to anyone looking to do almost anything in their yard, and plan on hiring him again in a few years to do one more project we have on our property. He threw down 20 yards of top soil and far exceeded my expectations. Good work, definitely reasonable prices. They worked three full days to take down several trees, trim back years of overgrowth, demolish the remnants of an old greenhouse with a concrete foundation, and dig up a large section of the backyard and place down fresh topsoil. The yard is almost unrecognizable from its earlier condition and makes the whole house look new.

Nick came in and fixed up our pool area something real nice. we were hesitant at first, i was going to try to do some of the grading and landscaping myself. we had several estimates done. So glad they looked at my property, everyone missed the detail that if i graded around the foundation the right way i would eliminate flooding issues and get to make a really nice retaining wall. they graded and did the sod and the retaining wall, as well as some planting. the property looks great, thanks guys!

After recently moving into a new home I was unhappy with my backyard due to the large amount of woods I had. ( Approx 1/8 acre ). After receiving several estimates from different companies, I decided to google tree removal companies and I came across Lake Norman Enterprises. Speaking to Nick on the phone he was extremely professional and was able to set up a quick estimate. When Nick arrived he was very attentive to my needs and even offered his professional advice on several ideas that I had. After listening to all of Nicks professional advise and receiving a very reasonable offer the deal was set and within a week the large job began. The job included removing fence to gain access to the yard, removal of approx. 1/8 acre of trees including stumps, and using the machines to level the area. All wood was left behind as requested and the guys did an amazing job stacking the pile which went from one side of the yard all the way to the other. ( I receive more compliments on the wall then anything else. ) The job took 4 days and throughout the 4 days Nick kept in constant contact with me and his workers to ensure the job was being completed to my satisfaction. Once completed I was left with a large shed in the middle of my property which Nick and his team offered to assist me in moving it approx. 75 ft to a new location, This was a huge life saver!! The clean up was spotless and I couldnt have asked for a better job then what Lake Norman Enterprises did. I have many more projects and I will absolutely not only recommend this company to friends ( I have already recommended to 2 neighbors ) but I will also be using them for these projects to continue to beautify my property. Ill definitely use these guys again! I was looking for a good landscaping company to help clear a ton of brush in a property that the town has long since forgotten. The worst part about it was that this area was overrun with both poison ivy and poison oak. I searched online and found Long Island Landscaping Authority had the most positive reviews. I filled out an online free estimates contact form. I was very surprised when Matt gave me a call back within 10 minutes. To make a long story short... I met Nicky that same night to work out a deal.
