Grass Chopper Grounds Maintenance LLC in Hartford

We contacted Grass Chopper last year about some landscaping needs in our backyard and front yard. They responded quickly, came out to the house to see what the layout of our yard was, and took some measurements. Within a week they sent us drawings of some possible designs. The crew did an excellent job on our yard. They were friendly, professional, and efficient. The prices were very reasonable.

I recently contracted with Grasschopper Grounds Maintenance to repair and extend a retaining wall as part of a patio renovation. What a great choice this was. Matt, the owner, was cordial, easy going, patient and very focused on our desired outcomes. Midway through the project, the block manufacturer threw us a wicked curveball. Matt gave us the time to decide on a work around and the problem was resolved to our satisfaction. His crewmen were skilled, knowledgeable and conducted themselves like gentleman beginning to end. We are very pleased with the results, the value we received and cannot recommend them strongly enough.

I contacted Grass Chopper to have my lawn thatched. They sent a representative out to evaluate my lawn. I told him that I always thatch my own lawn but don’t have time any more. I told him that I can pull a full trailer of thatch out of my lawn when I do it myself. He told me not to worry that they are very thorough. When I arrived home to see how things were going. I saw a young man walking behind the thatching machine at a very brisk walk. I told the other guy that he is walking to fast for the thatcher to do a good job. The machine needs time to work properly. He then slowed down and was still not pulling thatch out of the lawn. At that point I figured the machine was set for speed not performance. They offered to rethatch the lawn. I told them not to bother because the machine is not working properly. I told him I would call his boss. I called and spoke with the owner. I told him they only pulled two garbage cans of thatch out of my lawn and the machine was not set deep enough to work properly. He told me they offered to do it again and that I declined. I told him they could thatch the lawn five more times and it wouldn’t make a difference. I asked him to come out to the house and take a look at the service his company provided. He flat out told me NO. $295.00 for two garbage cans full of thatch is a little pricy. Most people don’t know what they are buying or what to expect with these services and the service providers know it.

Grass Chopper has been spraying my yard for a couple of years now. Great price Great service great company.
