Did an excellent job doing a spring clean up, trimming trees and shrubs, edging beds, and mulching. We’ve had our landscaping edged by various companies and individuals every year since we had it put in, and it looks better this year than it ever has. It took a while to get on the schedule. Will make sure I call earlier next year. Highly recommend!
What an amazing store with the most helpful and friendly associates ( especially Lauren). We love the selection of so many healthy plants as well. We will be back every weekend ! Our pup, Clementine also highly approves
Grass Roots has a wide variety of beautiful plants, however even the native ones that are supposedly good for the environment are not organically grown. The use of pesticides and non-organic fertilizers are severely affecting the bee and pollinator population, and are toxic to health and the soil, outlawed in many countries except the U.S. I asked two staff members if they used organic methods and they didn’t seem to know but thought so. Outside, I saw non-organic miracle grow being used. I’d love to feel good about supporting a small local business. I would come back again if they take environmental responsibility by using organic methods.

Great people and plants
This is the second year Ive gotten soil from them - they have a good blend of topsoil, compost, and potting soil thats perfect for large raised beds. Very friendly and helpful with pricing thats reasonable for a local business.

The staff were very friendly and incredibly helpful. We didnt know what we needed, all we knew is that we wanted to create an area that was suitable for pollinators utilizing native plants. Rachel walked us through our options and made various recommendations and after a pretty short period of time came up with a plan for the front of our house. The pricing seemed very fair

While I am leaving this review because of course, their plants are great, I am mainly writing it because of the amazing employees! Today I unfortunately had some car issues. At least 3 different employees came over and did everything they could to help me. Out of all the places my car could ve broke down this was probably the best place for it to happen haha. It was a stressful situation and they made it much better. I wish I caught your names but if you re reading this: thank you!

Great place for shopping flowers, herbs, grasses, shrubs, and trees. Impressive quality of plants and amazing friendly staff.
Dont count of them to follow through on commitments or return phone calls. Grass Roots came out to our house in March and diagnosed 5 of our pine trees with a fungus and told us they would put us on the calendar for spraying in early June. It is now August 1, and I have called Grass Roots 4 times, left 3 different messages and also emailed Chris directly about the spraying job and .... nothing. I find the lack of courtesy to return my phone calls really disappointing and poor customer service, especially since I have purchased dozens of plants and loads of mulch from them as we landscape our 11 acre property. On the other hand, the staff that work the store and help with plants are usually quite helpful. I just dont understand why they dont follow through on jobs they commit to or cant even have the courtesy to say were running behind, well get to it in X number of days.
Beautiful plants and pots! Plenty of succulents. Bring lots of money cause youre going to want to spend it.
This place is, without a doubt, the beat landscaping place in the valley. In terms of shopping, they carry it all, at prices comparable (and frequently better) to box box prices, with plants that are light years ahead in terms of quality. They also have many different landscaping services they offer.

We love the pots and plants we got during the summer sale. The staff was helpful! We are certainly planning to buy our fall plants from their select of native plants.
Good place to shop plants
Do not go to this place if you want your trees to be living, even a few months after they re planted. Grassroots filled the trees with clay. When it rained my fathers trees were drowning in the clay the professionals used to keep the trees in the ground. My father called the business to let them know and they did nothing to help keep the trees surviving. The trees Grassroots Landscaping planted and killed, were special ordered, and a few were brought from our home we moved from in Frederick, MD. My father finds joy in the life of trees, hummingbirds, and growing vegetables in the garden. The fact Grassroots took no responsibility for the trees they killed, and the poor job they did, they did not address their wrongdoings, and acted like clay was meant to be used for trees to grow. Do not trust this business. They will not help your yard.

So glad I found these guys! They are informed, do a VERY professional job and - plus- they are really nice!! Even to an old lady like me. The hardscape they have done for me looks like it came out of House & Garden. I will be using them again.
