Hummel's Landscape Inc. in Harrisburg

This Fall we worked with Jeff Hummel to add a patio to the front of our house. We have wanted a front porch for a long time but didn't want to change the architecture of our house. Jeff and team solved the dilemma by building this beautiful patio that we are truly enjoying!! Everyone at Hummel Landscaping was very professional and prompt. Thank you!!

During the summer of 2024 Hummel's Landscaping transformed our tired useless backyard into a perfect courtyard garden setting similar to a Williamsburg garden to enhance our circa 1780's stone house. We had a concept that Jeff and Jim both worked on and came up with a beautiful layout. From brick wallkways to circular gardens and green space. It is just perfect . They were great to work with and their hardscaping team were the best. We love the space now and would definitely recommend Hummel's landscaping to anyone wanting to see their dream and inspiration turn into something special. Jeff is a true professional who graciously accommodated last minute modifications. Thank you so much, Jeff, Jim, Jacob & Bill for a beautiful change to our property.

Jeff and his crew designed a beautiful terraced back yard for us, taking into consideration our desire to have native plants and less grass. They were professional from start to finish and completed the project in a timely manner. Jeff and his team were able to accommodate some minor design changes and answered any questions we had during and after completion. The project required significant earth moving which they accomplished without any damage to existing sidewalks. We highly recommend Jeff and his crew.

We have been using Hummel Landscape for several seasons. At our initial contact, Jeff came out to view the property and discuss what we wanted to accomplish. He then made recommendations and were confident in Jeff's knowledge and professionalism. Each spring and fall, Bill and his crew come out to do everything from pruning, planting and cleaning up the beds. They know exactly what needs to be done and they do their work with great attention to detail. If we have any concerns before they leave they always take the time to make sure we are satisfied. They make sure our landscape looks top notch. We are very happy with Hummel and are looking forward to continuing our landscaping relationship.

I requested an estimate in late August. After numerous phone calls and assurance my work could be done this year, I'm still waiting for an estimate.. Update: I was contacted by the owner, who was super great. He took over my project and ensured it was completed last year. I was truly amazed! The crew is awesome, and my finished project looks wonderful. No complaints and I hope to use them again. Highly recommend!

Absolutely stunning work done by Hummel Landscaping Inc. From design to install, great communication and execution. Team worked very efficiently and did a terrific job making the design literally come alive! High recommend!

In the summer of 2021, we used Hummel’s Landscape to assist with the hardscaping and design for a pool installation—for nearly a $100k project. Their work with the retaining wall and patio was remarkable and the end result is beautiful. However, we had two experiences that are truly buyer beware. The first is related to seeding the new lawn—the employees of Hummel’s were rushing to beat an oncoming storm when they blew seed for our lawn. Of course the seed washed away! Even though they knew the storm was coming, and elected to spread the seed, our contract indicated that wash away of seed is not covered. We then needed to pay more than a thousand dollars for reseeding. Even so, much of that also didn’t take so we have spent more than a thousand additional dollars on sod and seed to get some semblance of a yard back. It’s still very much a work in progress, no thanks to Hummel’s. Additionally, we expressed concern with the grading of our hill. There is a natural runoff that was modified during the construction—we indicated that the direction the water should run is too high—and there were very low spots. We were assured that in the end everything would be fine. After a few rains we recognized that we would have a very wet run off area with ponding. When we called Hummel’s, they said they could fix there error for $6,000. We opted not to pay them for more work since it didn’t appear there were any guarantees and it was their error. Definitely a buyer beware situation. I do not recommend Hummel’s for these types of projects. We are still faced with thousands of dollars in work to get this area to not look like a swamp.
