Outstanding work and Quality by D&T! I had them install a sprinkler system while I was in the mist of my whole neighborhood hood being ripped up with roadwork and Caleb and his crew worked around them all summer while that was finishing up. My Lawn hasn’t looked this good ever and can’t say enough good things about this company. Don’t think twice just hire them. A+++++
D&T is the landscaper you should choose. We feel extremely fortunate to have stumbled across them by looking for landscaping professionals through a professional landscapers association. We’re new to MN and purchased a new construction home where the landscaping was an after thought by the builder. They are friendly, cost effective and most importantly show up when they say they will and do the work as agreed. The D&T team helped us understand what works well in MN and in our area and made recommendations for what we should consider. Todd and Caleb are fantastic to work with. We highly recommend them.
I have been with D & T for 20 years. Had great service for sprinkler blow out for many years but this year everything fell apart. I made appointment for 12-5 on Oct 8. I had a quick errand to run at 11:30 that day and was worried that I may not be back by noon so I emailed on Monday that if I wasn’t home use the garage code. I didn’t hear anything back and was concerned that no one got it so I called at 8 am Tuesday morning. No answer and no call back. Then D & T truck pulled up at 10:30. Guy got out, walked up and looked at the house and left. Didn’t come to the door. Just left. I thought maybe he realized he was 1-1/2 hour early and went to another call. I waited around all day and finally at 5 called the office to see why no one showed up and Todd said his guy figured it was already done so he left. I asked if he could come the next day but Todd said they were too busy and couldn’t say when they would be back. I decided to make other arrangements since communication was so poor now. Then I emailed D & T that I wanted to cancel my appointment. Sure enough that same day the guy came to the door to do it. I told him I cancelled and made other arrangements. And it’s now $95!!!. No thanks.
Love these guys! I have been a satisfied D&T customer since 2003 and cannot recommend them highly enough. They provide any level of service around in-ground sprinkler systems. It would be difficult to beat their customer service, be it for repairs, maintenance, seasonal start-ups or blow-outs. My only quibble is price, which isn't cheap, but when you hire the best, be ready to pay for it. Ask for Todd - he will not steer you wrong!
I have used D&T for 28 years in multiple locations. This is a solid family run business. They exceed expectations, timely, honest, ethical and friendly.
We needed an emergency repair in the Spring of 2024. I called several contractors and D&T answered the call with a schedule and price that worked for us. Other companies didn't want to do the work, or were well outside industry pricing norms. We also took advantage of their annual service plan. It gave us a discount on parts when we had other problems and we had a spring startup and fall shutdown service. Glad they answered the phone when we called.
Timely response and follow ups by the owner and crew. Understood exactly my issue with my irrigation system offering great and budget friendly solutions. Prompt, friendly, and knowledgeable. My only regret is not finding about them sooner. I would have been using them all along. However, better late than never!
I recently bought a new home and D & T was the company the previous owners were using. Todd made the transition easy for me so they could get my information in their database and they were quick to get me on the schedule to get the sprinklers blown out. I would highly recommend them based off the service so far!!

It is very helpful that they tell you well in advance when they will be in my area for the blowout. You then have the option of morning or afternoon. I have had them blowout my system for several years and have never had an issue.

It s like a brand new system - replaced heads, moved heads for proper use, made sure everything is spraying correctly, fixed something with the electrical, ect JJ was great to work with and very professional. UPDATE AFTER READING OTHER REVIEWS: ASK QUESTIONS ABOUT VERBAL QUOTES BEFORE GETTING WORK DONE - SEEMS THAT VERBAL QUOTES DO NOT MATCH WHAT CUSTOMERS ARE BILLED I recently used D & T Landscaping & Irrigation for a spring start-up of my irrigation system. While they managed to fit me in quickly, my overall experience was less than satisfactory due to their poor communication. Pros: - Prompt scheduling. They were able to accommodate me on short notice, which was appreciated. Cons: -Lack of clear communication about costs. I was quoted $150, but was not informed that this did not include several additional charges: Spring Start-Up: $150 PGP Rotary Sprinkler (2 units): $90 (issue is not about the repair - issue is additional charges were never communicated or checked PRIOR to doing the work) Labor (0.5 hours at $110/hr): $55 Shop Supplies: $10 These additional charges totaled $305, which was unexpected and disappointing. Better communication regarding pricing and what the initial quote covers would have made for a much better experience. - Poor communication about issues found. They identified a non-working zone in my irrigation system but did not communicate this to me. It took me testing the system myself and texting them for them to come back out and fix the zone (simply reprogramming the system to move that zone). When they came back, they admitted they knew it was a problem but had forgotten to communicate this. Overall, better communication and transparency would have greatly improved my experience.
These guys are the best in the Twin Cities for installing a sprinkler system. I could not recommend them more as I have seen first hand the kind of care they put into doing a job right the first time. The experience they have puts them a head of all other companies. Go with the best. Go with D&T

D and T took care of our irrigation when we added sod in our backyard in Blaine, and did a great job. Now we are in the Shoreview area and we were happy to know they come out here as well. This time they took care of tweaking our irrigation that our current service was not doing very well at. In the process they found a punctured hose that solved the mystery of why an area was not getting any water. Quick to schedule us, prompt, great communication, skilled in their work. They are now our lawn and irrigation people!

We had a very elaborate home irrigation/sprinkler system challenge - many different zones with different sprinkler head needs, covering multiple lawn and garden areas. Todd and Caleb took the time to walk the property, map out the plan and work with us to make sure it was right. After installation, the set-up needed some fine tuning and Caleb came by and assessed with us the changes. He made adjustments on the spot where possible, then returned with a crew-mate to replace and move certain heads, and adjust others. When finished, we tested the entire system several times together. Then Caleb gave us a thorough tutorial on the app which controls the system (a great upgrade). Through it all he was patient, pleasant, collaborative, and professional - as was the crew. We couldnt be happier with the results.
Beware - rude and wont warrant their premium products. They have come out at least a few times within 14 months of install and have had an excuse to blame it on everything else but their products or labor. Please think again before you give your hard earned money for SUPPOSED top of the line products and warranty.

Todd designed and installed my irrigation system over 10 years ago. The system continues to perform as designed and each year I enjoy interacting with his professional, courteous and friendly team who are either performing end of season maintenance or starting up the system. Very knowledgeable and helpful.
This is the second job that D&T Landscaping has completed for us and we ve been 100% satisfied with all of their work. They recently laid sod on the top tier of our yard and added an additional underground sprinkler system. They got the job done sooner than it was scheduled and did a fantastic job!
I initially reached out to Todd Johnson from D&T Landscaping in July to simply add two sprinkler heads to an existing system. Todd came out and bid the job on July 14th. He verbally quoted me $75 for the one head and $150 for the second head. Todd s son Caleb did the install on July 21st with one helper. I was billed $331. When I asked Todd about the discrepancy in the amount billed he indicated that he gets a $99 trip charge on every job. There was nothing in writing or verbal about this when he bid the job. I had problems with both heads immediately. One head was a pop-up spray head that was not spraying far enough. The other head was leaking excessively and I now had water hammer when that zone initially came on. I reached out to Todd to discuss the problems. Todd wanted me to go to Menards to purchase a brass fitting that would allow him to connect a pressure gauge on my vacuum breaker to check the pressure. I found this to be odd that an irrigation company would not have the necessary fitting. Caleb came back to the house on July 24th to correct the problems I was having with the two heads. D&T attempted to charge me an additional $120 for correcting problems with their work. I talked with Todd and we agreed to settle on half of the $120. I continued to have water hammer when the one zone came on. I have never had water hammer of any sort prior to the work that D&T performed on my irrigation. I reached out to Todd on September 2nd to discuss the continued water hammer. He indicated that he believed that there was likely water leaking out from that zone when it turned off. Todd said that he would check with his supplier to see if he could get a check valve for the head he installed in this zone to prevent the water from leaking out and thus correcting the water hammer. Todd indicated that he would get back to me once he talked with his supplier regarding the check valve. Three weeks went by and Todd did not reconnect with me so I reached out to him on September 22nd. At this point he indicated that he believed that the problem was with my well, not his work, and that he had done everything and then some to correct a problem that he was not responsible for . Toda also indicated that he believes that you have preexisting conditions with the output of your well . At his point he would not answer his phone, respond to me leaving a voice message, or respond to text. I feel that D&T is responsible for the continued problem and that Todd is being unprofessional by not conducting a conversation with me to resolve a problem that only began when he added two heads to my irrigation. You will notice a trend with D&T Landscaping when you read the reviews: if things do not go well Todd and D&T tend to ignore their problems and not respond to the issue.
Had them out to install a new irrigation system yesterday. They were clean, professional, and done in under 5 hours. The system works great.. I highly recommend them to anyone.
Worst company Ive ever dealt with. Took my money and refused to refund when I asked to cancel before any work was done. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!
Awesome experience! We run 15 zones and were having issues with some areas not working properly (Electrical issues). It was too complex for our regular sprinkler guy and he referred us to Todd at D&T. They were able to resolve our issue. I found them to be professional, personable, timely, and really good at what they do. I have had a mix of poor service providers in the past, and these guys go above and beyond. I would highly recommend D&T Landscaping!
There is a reason why these guys have been around longer than pretty much anyone else. They know there stuff and can fix any sprinkler problem. In all of my interactions with them, I have found there staff to be nice and helpful. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
D&T personnel are always very courteous and professional when they come to ourhouse. They are willing to take the time to give advice and ensure that the job is in done right and to our satisfaction. They are also very prompt, especially if you have a leak and need assistance quickly. We appreciate all of their expertise in their care of our sprinkler systems. I love that they are a local company and for that I highly recommend them and tell everyone who asks how great a company they are.
We just had our sprinkler and irrigation system put into our new house. D&T kept close communication with our home builder and us throughout the whole process. We love the work that was done and were very well taken care of and would most definitely recommend D&T!
