TruGreen Lawn Care in Greenville

Thank you for destroying part of my lawn last week. I have the TruGreen lawn care as part of my DR Horton home purchase. They have done more harm than good. This past week they rode through my lawn and tore up some of my grass. They also had the audacity to msg me as if they would fix it. Nothing. This company is horrible.

My service technician Dillion was awesome! He was patient and contacted me to enter ahead if time. Professional and courtious is exactly what customers want on their property. Great job!

Dont trust the prices or information that they provide you. Everytime I spoke to someone different, I got a different story. Not everyone is knowledgeable about lawn care, which would help when Im asking lawn care questions regarding their service. Also,subscribing to their service is easy but canceling is hell.

Ive had trugreen for a little over 3 weeks. I was told by the salesman that they would come out aerate my yard and put down for fertilizer, then FESCUE SEED When nothing happened the second week I made the mistake of calling the salesman who explained how things should go. I dont think there was anything in that conversation that meant anything because he said he had done his job and I needed to speak with someone that was going to put down the FESCUE SEED!!! The reason I keep using capital letters

I am switching from another lawn service after 8 disappointing years. I spoke to my technician for 45 minutes, which is more time than I spoke to my previous company in all those years! I am hopeful that we will get better results; lime application tomorrow.

We started using the tree disease control and fertilization to save some tall evergreens with fungus and so far, so good! I called the technician and he was very patient and knowledgeable. Terrible Service. First they break my sprinkler system, turn the main valve off, and never notify me. Then they only apply half the service, and charge me for a full application. Lawn Doctor, here I come!

Ive been paying for a year & my lawn is in exactly the same condition it was when I started. I have called three times and asked someone to come out here and honor their so-called warranty, and I am still waiting...

I had my lawn serviced this morning by Shannon D and I had questions about several weeds in my yard. He set down the equipment to come over and look at an area in my yard then give me some background on what he was doing today that would treat that weed. I appreciated his patience with my questions!

5/21/24: Shannon was on time, listened to my concerns, and took care of the area in question. I called TruGreen as there are areas of broadleaf in the backyard, and to ask about potential fungus in the back; and there was a spot of crabgrass in the front. Shannon said that he was not apprised of my concern before coming out, which I had asked customer service to do, so the specialist would have the right mixture of chemicals. Shannon listened to my concerns, told me that the area looking like fungus was probably due to too much water, and he sprayed for broadleaf. He did not have Revolver on his truck to treat the poa annua. He as professional and thorough. Hopefully his supervisor, Alex, will send someone out the Revolver Herbicide Treatment for the Poa Annua.

Walter was very personable and did a fine job I think. Will know more in 2 weeks.

Employee placed too fertilizer on the yard and burned the grass. Luckily i have bermuda grass and it is coming back slowly but lawn has looked bad for a month or so.

Whatever Trugreen office covers downtown Simpsonville, I would give you zero stars if it were possible. We have a terrible problem with weeds and crabgrass and Trugreen apparently is contracted through our landscaping company. They do show up and they do treatments but it s not helping and we have horrible patches of crabgrass all over, I called and they sent a representative out and he advised me that it is not crabgrass. It is called Dallis grass and that they are not allowed by law to treat for that, further stating that they would receive a fine if they did. My first response to this would be to simply say that I have never heard anything so stupid in my life since you are a lawn maintenance and WEED control company. Secondly, we are paying for the service of weed control, and are not getting it. I cannot cancel your service because it s run through our landscapers, but if it wasn t, I would be canceling you for sure. And I certainly want others to see my review as it s just about as bad as most of your other reviews. You guys sure need to get your act together! Note) edit to your reply; first of all, thank you very much for your reply, but I must again state that this is not an individual account that we have with Trugreen. It is through our association, which is called CAMS and we live in a subdivision called Cedar Cove. Secondly the account may be under Scott Jones landscaping which I believe has been the one contracting you to our subdivision. But I will again state we have a ton of crabgrass not only in our own lawns, but in our common areas as well and it s not getting any better!

Demetrius did a great job. He suggested I contact the office to get a Lyme treatment to address a moss problem on the south and west sides of my house. Its an area of about 5300 sq. ft. Please contact me to see what you can do address this problem.

We had our lawn under control and went ahead and went from Top Turf to TruGreen with a special they offered. We paid a full year for this service and we were shocked to see the amount of weeds in our yard. They did not do anything this whole year. We complained and they offered a couple of months free. Why would we consider that When what they did was so poor?! We now feel like we are starting over. We look around at our neighbors around us that do not use any service and they look 1000 times better. Be very careful selecting a lawn service and stay vigilant.

I have so many issues with Tru Green. Y all are the MOST dishonest people I ve ever encountered and you want my business? I don t think so. I wish zero star was an option! 1.) you knocked on my door that says no soliciting allowed. I was in a middle of a meeting and I answered the door and explained I was in the middle of work. Your employee said, Good! I am too, so anyway I m offering a promo because your neighbors signed on with us being smart with me! And my neighbors have not signed on! 2.) my partner does landscaping in the neighborhood and was weed pulling the front yard for a neighbor. Your team came up and asked who he was and he explained that he does work for that neighbor. Your team stated that you had a contract with the same neighbor. My partner stated that he was finishing the front yard and was headed to the back to continue the weed pulling. At that point your team took everything to the back and sprayed, left and invoice, and left. That left my partner unable to do the job thanks to the chemicals! And then the neighbor called us upset y all lied and have no contract with that person!!! So you purposely ran my partner out of the job. I don t care how good your service is. You could create perfect lawns and I still wouldn t sign on with you. You go to EXTREME lengths with your level of dishonesty. I won t EVER be a client. And since you care so much about marketing, you need to remember that word of mouth is everything. Many of us won t ever recommend you!

Great service. Mr Devery was here He did a great service on my lawn.Mr Zachery. Not Mr . Devry. Besides mosquito control spray he gave me wonderful suggestions on how to grow my lawn where the bare spots have occurred. He truly is knowledgeable input lawn care etc.

The crew showed up when they were scheduled. Talked to them afterwards and got some recommendations for improving my lawn.

I came back to them after working with another company. They came fir first visit with tech and manager. Treated with respect.

Communicate with me the day before and when they re on the way. They are here when they say and you can ask any questions you have. Very pleased with the service. Much better than the last company.

Just can t explain how bad , no return phone calls and just bad and the employee that can t out threatened my wife and 10 lb dog THAT SHE WAS HOLDING ! Could not answer no questions and then I had to go thru hell to get a refund and didn t even spray the back ! Still haven t seen my refund! Just trouble ! This process this company had is a disaster! Remember they came to me I didn t call them to paid in full upfront!

The salesman was very eager to help and then as soon as I paid upfront for the service, he quit responding. He told me it would take a few days and the service would be completed. After a week, I reached out and was told that it would be the beginning of the next week - it is now a month later and still no service. This is completely unprofessional and shows a lack of care. I needed a service and could have gone to multiple other companies and been taken care of already, but now Im tied up with this one and have yet to get assistance. Come on TruGreen. Do better.

I just started 2024 with TruGreen, after switching from another lawn serving provider after 2 years, and I was very happy with the 2 treatments weve had to date. The young man who came out to service our yard was professional, knowledgeable, and timely. Thank you, Brett D., at TruGreen!

I ve waited a couple months to see if my issue would be resolved before writing this review, but it hasn t. We have notes in our account to call us before going into our backyard because of our dogs. The last person that came knocked on our door instead of calling when we weren t home and then just left without completing the service. Definitely an inconvenience but not that big of a deal. So I called to ask when they were coming out to finish the service. On the phone I was told they can t find my account (because it s through my builder as a home buyer incentive) and they would be unable to help me. They tried to transfer me to another person. After 10 or so minutes on hold the original customer service rep said they would just put me in for a call back. It s been just over a week and no one has called me, so I called back today. Same thing, they can see my address but can t find my account and they can t help me. I literally just want someone to come back and finish my service but no one seems to be able to help. I ve asked for a supervisor, they don t have them. I guess my next step would be to drive the hour and some change to Greenville and try to do it in person.

We have been using Trugreen since 2007 and have been fairly pleased with the overall service, but I recommend that they modify my plan to vary up treatments as needed vs the same preset plan each year.

Stay away!! They will sell you over the phone and then cant deliver on their promises.

So, based on the other reviews, I m not surprised this happened today. But as I and other individuals in my neighborhood, we re trying to leave, and employee of this company, decided to park his truck right beside a construction truck, knowingly, blocking traffic out of a neighborhood. The street that he is parked on, in order to park in the direction that he is, he would have had to go to the end of the street and turn around, therefore, knowing there is no other exit when I got out of my car and asked him if he could move it, all he said was nah man, I gotta finish what I m doing first I called customer service and filed a complaint, but that employee acted like they could ve cared less as well. It appears this company is not only into ruining their clients yards and grass but also into inconveniencing the whole neighborhood just to do a horrible job.

Person canvassing our neighborhood after was told repeatedly No solicitation even after seeing the POSTED SIGN! was RUDE and arrogant. Monumentally disappointed in try green. I am giving 2 stars because when I call the company and explained the supervisor did apologize several times.

By far the worst company I ve ever dealt with in my life. My yard went from being weed free and green when they took over my lawn to yellow and diseased. I ve call multiple times trying to get a supervisor to come look at my lawn and they never call. TruGreen shouldn t be allowed to advertise 100 guarantee because they don t guarantee anything except ruining your yard. If anyone would like to see before and after pictures I would be glad to share them with. I just don t want anyone to have their lawn ruined like they have done my so please stay clear. One reason I gave one star is because they don t offer negative stars.

My technician was very knowledgeable.

I need someone to call me to make sure the service rep went to right address. They said in comments that grass was mowed at right height, my grass is still sod and not mowed. So I am concerned about the correct address

I signed up for service at the start of this year. They came out a few times, pulled in my driveway and waited 5 minutes and left on both occasions. Each time I called advising that they could not complete my entire yard in 5 minutes. So they graciously sent someone out saying it was a free service in response to my complaint. I work from home so I watched them. I have a 1/4 acre yard and they only did half of it. I didnt call any more to complain. a month or so later I receive a text that my next visit was scheduled - at the end of the day, I received an text advising that the specialist could not make my appointment. A month or so after that I receive another text advising of a scheduled appointment for 5/17. The evening of 5/17 i get a text advising that the specialist could not make the appointment. I called to find out why 2 appointments were canceled back to back. They could not give a reason for the first one and said the second one was due to a truck malfunction. They apologized and offered a free service, I declined it and canceled the service. Somehow they feel that offering a FREE service is a fix all when it isnt. Its not FREE when I paid for it! Customers expect the company to stand behind their claim to receive excellent service. I didnt receive the promised service. I still have weeds in my yard and my grass is 2 different colors. Im not seeing the results of what they advertise. After reading through a few reviews -- Im more the believer in the phrase If they show you who they are, BELIEVE THEM! Its too late for me but not for those who read this. Dont waste your money like I did. I dont believe I will ever get mine back.

Yard was bare to start, they have it looking great!

I bought new sod and it was very expensive. I am new to the area and decided to let Tru Green manage the lawn. They know what they are doing and do it well. I purchased the full year service and they have been here about 6 times already this year. The lawn never looked so good .

Tru Green does a great job in helping keep our yard weed free and looking healthy and green!

Do not be deceived. Came out to do a service for my parents and all they did was put a sign in the yard and leave. How they even have 3 stars is beyond my comprehension.

Devery & Noah promptly arrived at my house per the text message I had received. After I discussed my concerns about my lawn with Devery he told me how they were going to treat the problem. They then treated my lawn as we discussed. They were very knowledgeable and professional.

If you can describe your issue precisely, its worth it. I us d them for weed control. I paid $370 for a year, had to call them a few times to describe the POA grass infestation but they were ultimately able to remedy our lawn. I recently noticed I was charged for two months of service after only ten months even after paying a full year in advance. We cancelled our service recently to save a bit of money but it was money well spent. Going to call and ask why I was double charged for those two months.

They take pride in a job well done.

I signed up in March 2023 and no one has serviced our lawn since April 2023. I called and spoke to B. Underwood and she was very rude and hateful. After I asked to speak to a manager, she told me there was no one else to speak to and that I could call back and speak with another CSR. I asked for a manager again and she refused to respond. I could hear others in the background speaking but she would not respond. Do not use this company.

I have used them for the last two years and finally cancelled my service on two homes last week. It was more difficult to manage them than to perform the service myself. They repeated did only part of the work and left messes for me to clean up. The last straw was a fertilizer spill in my front yard that killed a large patch of my zoysia. I called repeatedly for two weeks asking them to repair this and never received a return call from a supervisor. I made the repair myself and called to cancel my service. This has been the most disappointing experience that Ive had with a service company of any kind.

Always on time, and I m always informed with what they are doing.

Gave them a chance to resolve this before I left this review. I really wish I could leave a zero The last 2 visits by text message showing they arrived, and they left, they were there two minutes And when we have a little over half acre, maybe more it s treated, there s no way they could ve even attempted. They actually put a note on what they did on our door. It would ve taken them that long to write the note out and then they stated they not to speak with someone, that s not true, because I was sitting at the computer looking out the window. The second time I was not home, but similar scenario, they were only there two minutes based on their system So I did not get what I paid for, keep in mind I paid in advance, which I guess was a mistake But I also paid in advance for a whole year and told them that if I decided to keep them, I would pay in advance to the next year. But instead of letting me know that year was up, they keep coming and send me a bill. The way I see it, I don t owe the bill. They are trying to charge me, I actually should be getting a credit back because of the services they did not complete. Initially, I was just going to let it go and not ask for any refund on services on you. They didn t complete because they were only there for two minutes. But because they took it upon themselves to keep treating after my contract time was over and charging me when I did not authorize, I am now asking for at least 30% back on the services that they did not complete

Services are not as they say. Neighbors use another lawn service and yard looks greener and healthier than mine and i have been with this company for 2 years. They only seem to care about getting you to pay for more and more of their services instead of correcting issues.

For our scheduled spring treatment I arranged for them to come when we would be home and specifically requested a consultation with the tech before he began. On the day of the scheduled treatment, my wife happens to look out the front window from upstairs and sees the truck parked and a tech moving extremely fast applying a very slack partial treatment. By the time she got to the front door he was peeling away. I complained to the office that I do not believe any of the three treatments this year were performed to contract standards. They finally agreed to waive the treatment that we saw but not the first 2. There was no evidence in the yard that any had been performed based on the results. Now they have sent a collector after $104. Thus they have invited me to share the experience here. My new company has delivered great results. Seems to be an overall company culture and not a few bad actors.

We had our property sprayed for mosquitos which are really bad this year. It worked great for 6 days and then started to get bites again. We called Tru green about it and they scheduled a respray immediately. They are very responsive and back up their guarantees. Thank you!

Save your money. Too much time is required to manage a scheduled service that you may not receive. I am completely disappointed. I canceled my service of only 1 month today and requested a refund for the remaining 11 months due to the inability of this company to perform aeration on our lawn. We were advised to get this done before mid-September by the salesman and the gentleman that performed the first service. Our first service was stellar, but trying to get someone out here to perform aeration is frustrating. I scheduled, and the first attempt was canceled during a warm sunny day due to weather-related reasons. I called and scheduled again because apparently, missed appointments on the companys part arent priority, and they canceled the one for today without reason. I understand last nights storms could have been a factor, but my area didnt get any of the rain. Im not doing this song and dance again. Im tired of marking my yard with stakes only to have to remove them and do it again in a couple weeks. I did my part and scheduled..twice, and both were canceled. You cant contact the branch directly to speak with someone to resolve. Instead, you have to go through the call center, who acts as a middle man for the branch. Its truly exhausting to have to jump through so many hoops just to get a service youre paying for performed. I am not a fan of writing negative reviews unless things are truly abysmal. Trugreen, you missed the mark, and I hope that whoever is managing this branch can manage to get their mess together. Its terrible!

Before my aeration my pro double checked where all underground sprinklers were. Which was greatly appreciated. As always the TruGreen staff is professional and friendly!

Hope you have cameras so you can watch them when they come service your yard. They burnt my grass said they treated my yard and did not treat my yard several times and the branch manager in Greenville does not return calls.

Update: The regional manager came out and spread some Black Kow in a few areas and it did absolutely nothing because THE GRASS IS NOT GROWING OR SPREADING. Yes customer service called me several times and left message but I was so ticked off I was just dealing with the regional manager. He then spread Milorganite back in August and it too has done nothing. The grass is in worse shape now then when they originally destroyed it. There has been no reason to mow the lawn because it isn t growing. Now that it s fall and leaves are falling I went to blow off the back yard and the decaying grass just blew away exposing earth as it is all gone now. Only thing thriving are the weeds. DO NOT trust this company with your lawn. Looks like others have experienced the same thing seeing some of the other reviews. The absolute worst, it is so frustrating to watch your lawn that you paid over $4.000 to sod and was in great shape for over a year, dying. They came out and applied a fertilizer as part of the maintenance package I purchased and within 2 days my lawn went from thick, lush, and a beautiful green to thinning, yellowing and browning. My entire lawn is in centipede decline and I am battling to try save it after what they have done. There are several completely dead spots all over the lawn. I have called several times and a local supervisor is supposed to call me back but it s been 3 weeks and I have not heard from anyone to answer questions. They have completely ruined my lawn. Do not use. Please. You will be heart broken to see what they do to your lawn

I signed myself and parents up for TruGreen in the spring and I can honestly say my yard as well as my parents has never looked worse. My parents front yard is now overloaded with weeds as my backyard has bare spots and weeds that I have pulled measuring over a foot in diameter. I have on my Ring camera of an instance of them stopping in front of my house and not even getting out of the truck and of them not even stopping the truck. Each time I contacted TruGreen about this. In Aug a manager came out and agreed that it looked like my backyard had not been serviced at all and I agreed to continue only to have the next visit with the truck not even stopping. This was on Halloween and I have reached out each day since being told that a manager will be calling. It is now Nov 8th and I have yet to hear from a manager. My lawn, along with my parents, has now been set back at least one year.

***Update! November 2023. I finally got a response! A representative from TruGreen came to my house to tell me that my yard is too steep to aerate however, I have had it done 2 times by another company. So they are refunding the amount that my wife was charged to fix their mistake. BUT, my grass is still dead! Still no resolution. TruGreen needs to change their name to TruDead. My situation started in June 2023. It is now October 2023 and I still have no response or resolution. In June my yard was treated for the wrong type of grass and was burnt and killed. By August I realized it was beyond repair. After 2 months of trying to get them to make it right they talked my wife into aeration and seeding but made her pay for it. Now, 2 months later we still have no response or resolution no seeding no call back. I called corporate office and they guarantee a call back. That was weeks ago. I give up and highly recommend you not using them. I spent over $100,000 to landscape my brand new house and my grass has been dead for months.

Trugreen lost my service with them because they refused to offer liquid fertilization this fall. I was told that it is a company policy not to use liquid fertilizer in the fall. Their past granular applications were hit and miss. I like to pay for what I like rather than the company deciding and I must pay for their decision. Will not recommend them for this reason.

Our TruGreen tree and shrub service is always very thorough and Brenda P is very willing to discuss the actions taken. She is cordial and very knowledgeable on tree / shrub care.

Trugreen has disappointed. Yard is terrible. I tried to cancel service and was told the manager of the branch would call me. They never did. Im waiting on hold now to cancel my service again.

Been using for about 8/9 years. If I have a problem they don t hesitate to come out and make it right.

I like the Service in the winter months as well as the summer months.

We have been very unhappy with their service. They are very poor communicators. Last year we called, and had signs up, not to spray weed killer because we had just put down fescue seed. They sprayed. This year we called to let them know we had purchased seed to put down so please dont put weed killer down. They put weed killer down. We had to return our seed. The grass has never looked good since theyve been our service. We cancelled them.

TruGreen really did improve our lawn this year. It is the first time we have used them. Sadly it is pretty expensive and with having to cut our budget we wont be able to continue service next year. But I would definitely recommend their services!
