At first I didn't want to use an agency for my lawn care, but having spent hours searching for reliable lawn service over the past couple of years I decided to give them a shot. We had a couple of different lawn care people come out and we have one that keeps coming back on schedule. Kyle at Calleigh's Experience does a great job. And he is fast! My yard is mowed, trimmed and edged, and they blow the front walk- all in less than an hour. I've also been able to hire Kyle to do some storm repairs around my place. When you sign up with Lawn Starter, you agree to use them at least 3 times before cancelling. But with my experience with LS vs. trying to find someone or do it myself, its more than worth it to maintain the service. And the pricing is fair.
I will never let this company come cut my grass . I message the pro to reschedule to come on the 17 of October because my grass wasn’t high enough he came before the date; so I guess they needed money more than I did and I don’t wanna judge anybody by appearance but they didn’t look like professional they look like some people that came off the street.
This review is more for the excellent service providers that make our property look outstanding. Software & websites are great, but it comes down to the crews that do the work. Thanks
I have had the best experience, using Lawn Starter. The easy to use app, has made paying, and scheduling appointments simple for me. My yard always looks great, and I've gotten many compliments! The two gentlemen who worked directly on my yard, are amazing, and work very hard. I'm so happy I switched to Lawn Starter this year!
Failed to provide service three weeks in a row causing my grass to become overgrown. Contacted customer service 5 separate times and was told they would have a crew resolve the issue; this proved to be a lie. They even had a crew come out and mark my service as ‘complete’ without anyone even showing up- I checked my doorbell cameras. Now have to pay a long grass fee for the next service due to their awful service and even worse management. Go with a different company, save your money and frustration for something else.
I called to see if they took care of new sod as we're sodding the home but not moving in immediately. This appears to be a call center and after I explained the situation, they kept trying to sell me lawn cutting services, even asking what was stopping me from hiring them to cut my lawn. How about there's no grass to cut yet? Go with a local service instead. The guy I spoke with didn't seem to know what was going on and had to put me on hold to "ask management". Yikes.
Be aware that this is a predatory business and you are better off finding a small, local lawn care service. The red flags are: you cannot delete your account and you cannot delete payment methods, meaning they can continue to charge you for services you did not receive unless you cancel your card. I began service with LawnStarter this summer. My initial experience was mixed as no one showed up for several weeks despite the constant reminders that my "crew" was scheduled. Unsurprisingly, my acre-sized lawn grew in that time and I was charged a fee for long grass. I could live with that, because ultimately the crew was friendly and did a nice job on the lawn once they finally showed up. However, after a month or so the trend of scheduling and rescheduling resulting in higher fees became too frustrating, so I found a small local lawn service and cancelled LawnStarter on September 7. A month later I received an email that mimicked a fishing scam, claiming LawnStarter was going to back-charge me for sales tax (with no details, just an amount). I called to inquire and I was explicitly lied to - the agent assured me that this was very likely a scam and no charges were shown on my account. Later that day, I was charged. I had to dispute the charge and cancel my debit card, which is a total pain and not worth the unreliable service this company offers.
Let me preface this by saying that it pains me to leave a poor review for any business. I have an incredibly low bar for what I consider to be acceptable for a paid service, so this is quite literally the first negative review I have ever left in my 33 years of existence. But my experience with LawnStarter left such a bad taste in my mouth that I feel compelled to share it to whomever it may benefit. I had used LawnStarter for roughly a year with no issues; my original crew (I believe his name was Shane) did a good job and I was always satisfied with the result. Unfortunately, around 2 months ago, they switched me to a new crew (Sean). I immediately noticed a drastic decline in the quality of my service from that point; the grass was cut unevenly in several spots, and considering that cutting grass doesn't require a lot of technical skill, I can only assume this was due to gross negligence. As I said, I have a low bar for what I consider to be acceptable service so I did not even mention anything the first two times Sean's crew did a poorly inconsistent job with the mowing. However, the third time he again left many uneven patches of grass but what crossed the line for me is that he went into my NEIGHBOR'S yard and cut a big strip of their yard too, which looked hideous. I was mortified and had to apologize to my neighbor. I immediately canceled my service as it had been poor for three consecutive mows, culminating in the absolutely terrible final job where they cut up my neighbor's grass and left mine looking pretty embarrassing, frankly. I immediately called Customer Service to request they send someone to fix my lawn and they only offered to send the same guy, Sean, back again. I pleaded with them to please send someone else because I did not want to entrust my lawn to this person any longer, but they insisted that they could only send the same guy back. I even sent them photos of all the areas of my lawn where he left huge patches of uncut grass. But whatever, I agreed to it since I expected it would be an easy fix for him to assess the lawn and go back over all the uncut areas. Boy was I wrong...he came back and did not do a single thing. I took before/after photos of all the missed patches of grass after his first and second visit and they were identical. I showed several people the photos and the consensus was that this was the worst lawnmowing they had ever seen. When I reached out to Customer Service again, providing them the updated photos after the "fix", they essentially said they would refund me but would not send another crew to fix my lawn unless I resumed my service contract with them. They also offered to send me a "higher rated crew" if I resumed my contract, meaning: 1) they recognize that they have lower-performing crews (mine being one of them), and 2) that it IS indeed an option to send another crew to my house to fix my lawn, they just chose not to do it and instead sent Sean back a second time. I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1 just because I had a positive experience with them before they switched my crew. Shane seemed like a quality employee who provided consistent work. Sean unfortunately does not seem like he cares in the slightest about his job. To anyone considering enlisting the service of LawnStarter: good luck. I hope you are okay with 50/50 odds of getting a decent crew. Edit: Here are photos illustrating the terrible job they did on my lawn. The "Before" photo depicts the condition of my lawn after Sean's initial service. The "After" photo depicts the condition of my lawn after Sean returned to "fix" his previous job. As you can see, the photos are identical because he did not do anything upon returning.

I can t get anyone to cut my lawn! They have shown up ONE time all year and no one will get back in touch with me! Frustrating to say the least, unprofessional to be perfectly honest!
I do not recommend lawn starter. The guy that was supposed to come cut my lawn rescheduled 3 times on me. 2 of those was because of bad weather when it hasn t rained in days. Do not go with these guys. There are better companies out there in the area. I was extremely disappointed. Never again!!!!
Stress-free lawn Care...
This is not a lawn care company. It is a sales lead companies trying to collect phone numbers to sell to local companies. They have repeatedly called me and texted me from fake 864 phone numbers, but they are on the other side of the country. Beware, what they are doing is fraud.
Lied about prices and charged a card that wasnt on the account. Some Indian woman picked up and told me that when I use my card for the first ( promotional priced) visit, it gave them authorization to use the card over and over. They charged 2 different cards in two weeks....They also didnt stand by promotional prices. Dont use these people they are bootlegger crooks. They send different people out every time too. They would just show up randomly as well.
Great work platform
Brian came and trimmed up my bushes so that my yard felt so good to go into and sit out. He also did a very good job cleaning up all the extra twigs and branches that a lot of lawn-mowers just avoid and go around. He did a great job.
The option for a one time mowing isn t actually an option. I would label that as false advertisement since they refused me service once I expressed interest in that option.

DO NOT USE LAWNSTARTER. Inconsistent. People don t show. You might get someone you like and they ll eventually change your crew. Mark my yard as done and charge me when no one showed multiple times. Literally such a joke.

I ontacted them and they set up an appointment. Never showed up. I canceled the order and was billed $8.76 for them doing nothing. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

Charged overgrown lawn fee 100% over cost. Nearly $85 without getting approval. No notification at all until a week later when they tried to collect the money. Did not call when they were on the way as requested and agreed to. Did not respond when requested support on the matter.
Signed up over two weeks ago to try it out and was scheduled two days later, but the dates keep delayed, or I get assigned a new crew causing further delays and have yet to have the grass mowed. We have had maybe 2 separate days of rain, one of which caused a nearly week delay. We keep having to make other arrangements for the grass last minute when no one showed up. They give almost no proactive notifications when dates are missed, but super friendly sounding excuses when I ask to cancel and they rescheduled me new dates scheduled 4-5 days in the future. Horrible experience with friendly customer service that tells you what you want to hear but doesnt follow through or follow up without being contacted first. Going to try cancelling again tonight so I can get someone I can rely on.
They are horrible. They have cancelled scheduled appt for the last month then they decide that they can t cut my lawn at all because they don t have enough staff. So now my lawn is over grown and is going to cost more for someone else to cut my grass. They also don t pay their employees Maybe that is the reason they don t have staff. I have tried contacting them for 3 weeks. No Reply. I would never recommend them to anyone!!
Great workers make everything look great
Signed up for LawnStarter shortly after moving to the Greenville area. Had first service done, guy was a day late and drove off my driveway when leaving. Damage wasn t terrible so said screw it. Then he messages me the evening of my second scheduled date to tell me his gear broke down and had to come out the next week. Stuff happens so I said ok. Then he messaged me late in the afternoon the day he was supposed to come out and mow to tell me he wasn t making money with LawnStarter and was no longer working with them. I said it wasn t cool to reschedule me then quit the day I was scheduled. He asked me to call him to setup service with him directly. That s not happening. I tried calling LawnStarter as my grass is already past my ankles and I need it cut ASAP. Their system gave me the option for a call back. It s been 2 hours and no call back. Google says they re open for another hour but I got an automated email saying my crew was changing and it may be a few more days. At this point I want out of the required 3 services contract you have to sign but I have no way to verify I can do that. This is a terribly unprofessional company and I can t wait to celebrate finding a new lawn service company.
Had a couple different crews come out and they did a good job but neither came back. Lawn starter set up another crew and this one came twice so far so hopefully he will be the regular one.
You have to put your card on file to book an appointment. My appointment got rescheduled. I had found someone to cut my yard for a cheaper price. I tried calling to cancel the service but no one ever answers the phone. When the company came out again they charged me for cutting my yard. When I finally got in touch with someone she could see in their notes that the yard had been cut before they got here, but I have yet to receive a refund and it has been over a month. This company will steal your money don t use them.

I gave them a one star because zero stars wasnt an option. They DO NOT blow trimmings off the flatwork. Both times they came, they had blown grass trimmings all over both of my vehicles. And, they did not blow the grass off the driveway or deck. I will NEVER use this company again.
Was scheduled and 3 times 2 different crews they never came. Was promised they would come never did. 0 stars for me waist of time!
They offer yard clean up services - but they won t clean a yard without mowing it first. Yard doesn t have any grass yet so they can t do anything for me. Makes no sense.
Never own time, sometimes don t show up for 3 weeks (this happened multiple times to us). I received two charges for two seperate weeks that never occurred, called and was told I can t be refunded the $136 charge without speaking to a supervisor they haven t called back yet .it s been 5 days and I ve called 3 more times since. Update: they cannot refund me my $136 because I didn t complain about it until the 5 day mark, even though it was suppose to be taken care of ..they have proof he cut my grass, gps coordinates.
Used this service for almost a year. Grass got cut on an irregular schedule and would leave yard looking bad. Would never be on time if you scheduled a specific day. Signed up for weekly service and went weeks over 3 weeks with no one showing up to cut. Would not recommend if you want a decent looking lawn.
Horrible lawn care company. On a regular basis the would cancel my scheduled lawn mowing and noone would show up for weeks and when i complained someone forgot to cut my backyard they said they would send someone to do it. Two weeks later still nobody has showed up and i never got my money back. Be careful doing business with these people they run a very poor business.
In response to an earlier review I left on Google regarding a miserable experience with one of LawnStarters service providers, Mr. Joey Walker reached out to me via email. His message was very conciliatory, and I attempted to contact him by phone. After slogging through LawnStaters abysmally complicated phone system, my call was finally picked up by Vanessa Hoffer. Ms. Hoffer immediately recognized my frustration with not only the poor lawn service I had encountered, but the spectacular irritation caused by LawnStarters communication system. She immediately assured me that she would not drop my call until she had located and connected me with Mr. Walker. After several attempts to put the call through, Ms. Hoffer finally managed to connect me with Mr. Walker and was even gracious enough to remain on the line as Mr. Walker and I discussed the reasons for my derogatory review. He was incredibly patient and conveyed a genuine kindness the likes of which I have seldom encountered. Admittedly, I was dreading yet another confrontational the-customer-is-always-wrong argument, but Mr. Walker and Ms. Hoffer were sterling examples of professionalism in their remarks and their demeanor. I cannot praise their efforts to resolve this unfortunate situation highly enough. They are to be commended and rewarded for their sense of purpose, and that is, kindness and dedication to the customer. In conclusion, LawnStarter is to be congratulated for making these two individuals part of its team. Had it not been for their commitment to flawless, single-minded customer care, the Lawnstarter organization would have lost not only me as a customer but untold others as a result of an indifferent, lackadaisical mowing company.

The service I received from LawnStarter was decent enough for the first couple months. My crew changed at some point unbeknownst to me. So it was a little weird seeing a guy I didn t recognize show up one day. Not a big deal but sort of odd. The problem was the new guy eventually stopped showing up. After two weeks went by I contacted LawnStarter to find out what the issue was. I didn t receive a response. Instead the next day at 10:00pm I received a notification in the LS app that Lisa had completed my lawn service and was awaiting feedback. So apparently Lisa was my new service provider. The problem with Lisa is she never actually showed up. My service for that week was marked completed and I was charged anyway. I contacted LS again and received a fairly prompt response and apology. I would be getting a refund for the week and someone would be coming by on Sunday to complete the service. No one showed up on Sunday. On Monday I cancelled my service from LS and hired someone that left a flyer in my mailbox. It s too bad. I liked LS when they actually provided the convenience I was looking for.

They have good prices, and only commit to 3 cuts I stead of 10 like most are. You also have chances to get money credits as well. The guy they sent to cut my grass 2 times now is so friendly, and my yard looks great!
Have gotten my yard cut twice now and this has been a very reliable service so far. The app is super convenient as well and is a great tool for communication and setting up appointment times and payments.

I needed a lawn care company and thought this company was very innovative with online scheduling. Scheduled service for twice a month 3 weeks ahead of time. The company gives you a 2 day window. No one showed up the first day. On the second day I called the company at 6pm and they said they would return my call after researching the issue. I received a call back at 9:50pm. The lady said they have to allow the crew to finish the job until sun down. I was dumbfounded. I asked do you know what time it is? She said is it dark outside. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!
