DeHammer Landscaping just completed a significant project which involved replacing trees which were removed as well as changing the grade of my backyard to eliminate a low area which remains wet during the spring and fall seasons. The new trees and shrubbery were planted expertly and is the strength of DeHammer. There were a few hiccups with the grade and slope of my yard, however DeHammer has stood behind their work and responded in a very positive manner to get it correct and meet the scope of work. It will take time to determine if corrections solved the issues but DeHammer has gone out of their way to make it right. When things go smooth, companies can easily get good reviews but it is how a company responds to issues or concerns which is most valued to me. I highly recommend hiring DeHammer Landscaping for your landscape needs.

Disappointed is an understatement, do not recommend this company unless you want to be let down. Spending thousands of dollars to give ourselves a headache. Coming up on almost 4 months of our project not being complete, sat around all day yet again to find out our project will not be completed today like promised. After two phone calls and mid-day email, finally was able to reach someone at closing hour before the weekend. Being told as a customer that you were forgotten to be updated is terrible service. Genuinely considering looking at other options at this point. And to think we would be able to pay this company to have a beautiful lawn by the summer for our kids.....

I live at The Links condominium association in Holland. Our Board switched to DeHamer this year. So far: meh at best. Sloppy careless plowing this past winter. Now apparently they think that middle to end of May is a good time to apply crabgrass prevention. And they keep moving application of mulch to landscape beds two more weeks down the road. And again. And again. On the other hand, maybe it s our Board of Directors that is meddling and micromanaging? In which case it s our own damn fault.

DeHamer lawn care crew (Emanuel, Mike R, Brandon P) has done a great job of mowing, edging and blowing our grass. They cut it at the right height and leave it looking beautiful when they are finished.

DeHamer Landscaping serves our Condo on Braburn Court in Jenison Michigan. We have 34 units. Their crew of eight men worked all day on a Saturday to spread mulch on our grounds. They did an awesome job! They were efficient and treated our flowers with tender loving care.

They have made our lawn look amazing. It s healthy and thick every year we have used them. There always respectfully and responsive to any questions we have. Thanks

This is my second year using their services. They have done a great job in providing those services. Some of their workers, like Anthony Walker, Julian Ordonez, and Adam, have made my lawn look great, and you can tell they take pride in their work as a customer, I appreciate that.

Communication is atrocious. It took them 3 weeks to come back and tell us that our project was too small. That was after an email and a phone call. You couldnt have told me that 3 weeks ago so I could sign a contract elsewhere? Also, as someone who works in sales, to not take a project because its too small will hurt you in the end. The way you build long term customers is through trust and continued service. I do landscaping projects EVERY year. I was looking for a partner in that long term journey. Good to know youre only in it for a quick relationship. Not what Im looking for anyway. Also for the record, my project was priced at $4-6k with different companies. Didnt realize that was too small for you. If you dont want the years where I spent $4k; youre definitely not getting the years where I spent $13K. Will definitely not be recommending you to anyone I meet.

With a new home build, I needed everything done. DeHammer put in irrigation, landscaping, and hydroseeded. They knocked this job out of the park with some of the best crew Ive ever worked with. Id like to personally give credit to their worker Ivan. He was in charge of the overall grading and landscaping of my property and I dont think Ive ever met a harder worker. Extremely professional and went above and beyond every day that he was here. I cant say enough with how impressed we were with him. He was extremely detailed and was more than happy to make changes upon my request. He was here bright and early and stayed working after hours because his personal determination to get the job done. Great personality with an amazing work ethic, this guy impressed us. I would highly recommend DeHammer for all of your landscaping needs. The entire team, each step of the way, was extremely professional and friendly. The ownership team at DeHamer believes in their team and it shows. No company is perfect, but their team is always hard at work and they always see it through.

Had to call multiple times to have them come back and weed during the summer months for both years I ve used them. Also, the first time they fertilized they lawn every year, they burn the grass in a huge circle that doesn t recover for the summer. This year they raised their prices, so I will be going with a more competent lawn service.

Where to begin! This is one of the worst companies I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. We hired them to do some landscaping and were left with a bigger mess than when they started. Very poor workmanship. Mulch that was placed was less than an 1 deep in most areas and you could see soil beneath it. They drove a skid steer all over the existing lawn a and left ruts 8 deep. The same skid steer leaked diesel fuel all over the driveway and broke 5 underground sprinkler heads in the process. It was very difficult to get them to address these issues. I ended up contacting a lawyer who wrote them a letter. Once I had a lawyer involved items were addressed somewhat to satisfaction but just be prepared do a long battle of phone calls and e-mails to get anything fixed. Dustin will also argue that they executed the work perfectly and tell you that you re wrong. I would look for another company if I were in the market for landscaping.

Sales and design process was a fine experience. Initial installation team did a fine job with the landscaping and nice to work with, however we were unsatisfied with the attention to detail on finish grading. Their attempt to repair for a smooth grade left a lot to be desired. They did replace one dying tree, but we did not hear back about other items. We also were left with no clear direction to help with the seed job that did not take well. Throughout the project they provide too many different points of contact causing confusion. We expected a little better experience. Update: At this point, a fair effort and response was made and to reimburse the cost of two additional trees that didnt make it.

We switched to DeHamer this year for snowplowing our driveway. WOW! What a great job they are doing. They have kept up with this crazy 2022 blizzard, and then some! First they landscaped our neighbors yard a few years ago and flooded ours and then wouldn t fix the problem they caused, never called us back, never responded to our questions. Finally got the contractor out and he resolved issue. Then we bought some trees last summer through the. and one died immediately. They didn t respond to any calls or emails.

They destroyed my freshly laid underground sprinkler system and told us they dont warranty their work. Miserable people to work with. Unprofessional and we will not be using them again.

We recently built a new building for our business and landscaping was one item that slipped through the cracks but was necessary for final approvals. A friend suggested I call Dehamer. Adam quickly called me back, gave a price and fit us in on his schedule. Noah and his crew showed up and did a great job. Very happy and will call Dehamer again on other projects.

I had communiction issues early on with receiving timely email responses. However after the project communiction and follow through degraded. Emails were not returned concerning the project. I have called twice and was advised someone would be out to take a second look and after 2 weeks it still hasnt happened. Not recommended

DeHamer was amazing from the beginning. I know nothing about landscaping and they, very patiently, helped me create a beautiful outdoors. DeHamer was communicative and responsive. Project was completed in the stated time frame and earlier in the month than expected. Their honesty saved me several thousand dollars. A retaining wall that we though needed to be completely replaced only needed to be fixed. I highly recommend them for your landscaping needs.

The Tree/Landscaping Pros!

From start to finish this was a great experience. A designer came to our house and drew up a concept that we loved. It gave me the ability to visualize what could be. This was the first thing that set DeHamer above other landscape companies we had reached out to. They gave me something I could picture. As we coordinated with other subcontractors we let DeHamer know our timing. They came on the earliest possible day that it would have worked for them to come. They were efficient and a hardworking kind crew that aimed to please. As the project unfolded, it became clear that some of the original plants didnt fit as we had hoped. Adam was great to make on the spot suggestions and changes which we love. While DeHamer may not have been the cheapest option, the value that they brought in vision, timeliness, and creativity was worth every penny. We highly recommend using them. A big thank you to Craig, Adam and the entire crew!

We have used DeHamer a couple times for landscaping needs and have been very happy both times. Very responsive during the quote and design process. Installation crews are great and do an excellent job. Definitely recommend.

EDIT: DeHamer reached out and has graciously tried to make things right with us. They are fixing our siding and working with us throughout next year to ensure our lawn is healthy and growing. We are very appreciative that they took our thoughts seriously. My husband and I are new to area and in our neighborhood a lot of people were currently using DeHamer, so we thought this was a safe bet. They were our lowest quote which was nice, but unfortunately you get what you pay for. They were initially easy to schedule with, however, the job they did was sloppy at best. The grading and level of dirt up to the house that was left was not what was discussed and against code. They broke over half of our sprinkler heads (that were flagged!) in the process as well as knicked our siding. Thankfully they fixed the sprinklers, but denied the siding damage. In talking to our neighbors about their experience, they also had damage that was denied. On top of that they left tons of dirt and machinery scratches in our driveway. When we tried to get information on watering and caring for our newly placed lawn, they did not send anything despite both call and email. They said they would come back and hydro seed any bare spots and they failed to do this as well, again, despite phone calls. We are planning to have more work done in our yard in the coming year and have many neighbors moving in close by. We are sad to say that we will certainly not be using or recommending their services. Truly disappointed by this experience.

Our work was done by a crew that performed the contract to the letter with quality materials, were neat in the cleanup, and were friendly. This is now a five-star company and I heartily recommend them to anyone.

We hired DeHamer Landscaping to do some pretty extensive work on our new home, which we moved into in January. Because it was a new construction project, we needed them to do all of the landscape design for our home. We have been really impressed with the level of service and communication from various people in the company. DeHamer Brothers and their team have surpassed my expectations. I had 4 huge pine trees removed from my yard needless to say you know the debris left behind. Wade had some great suggestions and ideas which his crew delivered on. Several loads of dirt, lava rock, roots, and shavings from the stump grinding were removed in prep for finishing the landscaping once Spring comes to Michigan. I met with several companies in the area to get a quote/ideas for filling in the space where the trees were removed. There was no doubt in my mind when decision time came would definitely recommend DeHamer Brothers!

The entire crew at Dehamers Landscaping was fantastic. Dustin came out to review my yard and hear the desires to re-do my existing landscaping. His game plan was seen visibly and with a quote that met my expectations. After reviewing it all, I had a major game plan change due to cement contractors not being available for several months. Dustin came out to revisit and discuss again without any hesitation. We did some tweaking together and the new game plan became a reality! Adam and Gary and their crew were awesome! So kind, so professional, and so cleaned up everything that it made such an impression on me! They were always asking questions to make sure that what they were doing met my expectations! Making this decision as a single woman was made so easy because they at DeHamers treated me upfront and fairly from the start of the project to the end. My yard is renewed and I LOVE IT ALL!!! Very pleased with DeHamer Landscaping! Our original project was completed almost 2 years ago. After this winter we had a small issue with the edging. I called and DeHamer was out the same day within a matter of hours and fixed the problem. They are always a pleasure to deal with!

We had purchased a new Parade home last summer which we love. However, given the deadline of the Parade of Homes DeHammer wasn t given sufficient time to do the yard grade and hydroseeding to their liking. After we moved in the backyard had become virtually all weeds. After speaking to them this spring they graciously offered to come back out, rip up the entire backyard, re-grade it, lay top soil and completely redo the hydro seed. They came out on Memorial Day weekend to complete the job, one in which they weren t being paid to fix. They went above and beyond to make a problem right and were excellent to deal with. A very big thank you to this company and owners for something you don t see much anymore...follow through and customer service.

Did a beautiful job on my landscaping. This is the second time I have used them in 4 years after building twice in the last few years. Great, honest people and crew!

One of the least professional companies Ive had the displeasure of working with. Mediocre work and terrible communication, as theyve been impossible to contact since they received the check. Would recommend looking elsewhere. Update to their response: I waited 9 days for them to reply to an e-mail, that magically was responded to after I posted this review stating they would finally come do the fertilizer treatment that week. Ive been waiting 3 weeks now and have had no one come to follow up on said plan. Again, terrible communication and service. Multiple of our neighbors have expressed the same concerns with me, and have found other lawn services to fix the sub-par quality.

We moved into a home last fall that needed a lot of work on the yard. DeHamer was hired to do the entire project. They designed and installed the landscape around the entire house, created the patio space with fire place and landscaping around the beach area. We also had them lay new top soil and hydro seed the entire lawn. We are so happy with the results. Their team was a pleasure to work with, and we have gotten countless compliments on the results. We will happily use them in the future for any other landscaping needs.

I had a fantastic experience working with DeHamer Brothers Landscaping. I needed landscaping done at a new house that had no landscaping or yard yet. Wade and his team were great as they walked us through the process to select our materials, plants, and design. They handled everything from planting the trees and flowers, to installing a patio and retaining wall, to spraying hydroseed. I couldnt be happier with how it turned out. They seem to try hard to do a good job, but Ive hired them for two simple projects recently and havent been happy with their very poor communication or the damage theyve done to our property during both projects. They piled rocks in the corner of the property and drove heavy equipment back and forth over the sprinkler head there for two days, breaking it. They also cut an underground cable I warned them about (and why dont they call miss-dig? Is that even legal?). Finally, they asked my wife is shed like them to do something extra without ever implying that it was extra and sent me an invoice for 40% more than theyd estimated AFTER theyd completed the work. They acknowledged some of these problems, to their credit, but Im not sure what good that does the customer who is looking for work to be done well and on-budget. I probably wont go with them again.
