I recently had some work done from Green Works over the summer. Despite some delays, some employee rotation that caused issues with my job and inclement weather it was completed. Is it what I was hoping for, not really but it s done. The work was completed to generic terms that were recorded on the quote that were open to interpretation. Could this be my fault, sure in part as I agreed to the quote, but I guess I didn t foresee the issues I would eventually face. Personally I d use another company in the future. My suggestion if dealing with this company, have everything you want down recorded and written on the quote prior to putting a deposit. And I mean eeeeeeverything as they re walking around agreeing with you. Like eeeeeeeeeeverything.

Green Works did a great job re-sodding our backyard - they were fast, clean, and handled everything throughout the process. They also provided easy to follow advice and resources for caring for the new lawn.

The installation date was not well communicated, and ended up getting only 3 days notice. However, the installation went quickly, was well done, and the provided care and maintenance guide has been extremely helpful.

Great service, we had 2 cubic square yards of garden soil delivered. It wasn t an easy place for Morgan to back into to dump the soil, but he managed it perfectly. Thank you to the Green Works crew for all the great work! In less than a day, they fixed and installed the sod in the front (the grade was terrible and needed to be redone), moved a shed, cleaned all flower beds, set up several large garden boxes, and fixed all the drainage issues from the eavestrough. I m very impressed with this company. I sent them an email on Sunday and my screened topsoil was delivered by Tuesday morning. The driver was amazing. He was so pleasant to deal with and very accommodating. He put my load of topsoil where I wanted it. The product looks really good. There were no weeds or foreign objects in the soil. Currently on the 6th year of shovelling snow and salting here and I still love it. It is easy to love the people who work here to for they are warm and accepting! It s a great place to be if you want a friendly and hard working atmosphere. The standard of excellence is held high and a good majority of the bad I ve seen is understandable and also normal circumstances that can easily be tolerated and the bosses/supervisors have certainly cut much slack for my bad behaviour. When they said they are calm and professional, they truly stick behind their word and it s been fun.

Well, what can I say about Greenworks. I had a little project of landscaping to be done in my backyard, and I reached out to multiple companies. The driver who delivered our soil (next day!) took the extra time to work creatively with me to dump it in the perfect spot. He cared, which is tough to find these days. Crew arrived on time. They seemed very organised as they tilled and removed the existing lawn. Their installation of the new sod was meticulous to detail, especially around our existing interlock. Entire job was finished in 1 day and they cleaned up before leaving. Their after sales service was good. After 2 weeks, there was a small problem with some of the sod but Green Works was very prompt to make the repairs. The company gave us a comprehensive guide about the care and maintenance of the new lawn. We found that very helpful.

July 26, 2023 This is my second job with Greens Works and once again - they hit the nail on the head! AMAZING work! Crew was fast, efficient and did outstanding work in such hot humid weather and on and off pouring rain. Greenworks removed a giant 60ft garden bed with 50-ish cinder blocks and removed and regraded the soil to lay new sod. I highly recommend Green Works. Very professional - great work. I can t say enough GREAT things about Green Works! Out of six quotes from different company Green Works hit it out of the park all around with quick response time, quick to come out for quote on job, extremely fast replies to my emails and questions. After significant research, we decided to bring Green Works Contracting in to build a shed pad and to build an interlock patio for our outdoor dining area. We were NOT disappointed! The team was hard working, courteous, and made a couple recommendations (that worked out AMAZINGLY) over the course of the three days they were on site. Green Works has been doing an excellent job at my restaurant with 50 parking spots, walkway and a driveway. They spread out the salt and sand before a snow fall and then immediately remove the snow when it comes down. They clean the lot before anyone one shows up at 7am. I ve been here 36 years, I have had several different companies and by far Green Works is the BEST. Highly recommend them. You will NOT be disappointed.

I wanted to take some time to write a review for Greenworks contracting. We had what I would consider a large job in that we wanted river rock along the side and back, stepping stones, a shed base built and new sod laid. We started this process in fall of 2021 (the planning) and the job was recently completed. Matt was our site supervisor. He came out at the beginning of the year to finalize the job. wanted the shed but were unsure where to put it and Matt actually helped us select a discreet area in the back (we didnt think we could use it because of drainage but Matt indicated we could which was great). To the job part. They had a cancellation and asked if they could come on a specific date to which we agreed. First thing they did was cover our interlock driveway with a blanket so it wouldnt get damaged or dirty. There must have been 7-8 people they assigned to this job. They arrived at 8am, Matt took me through a final walk through of the job and we made a last minute change. They left at 5pm. They had the whole job finished in one day, they were friendly, Matt was there to answer some of my questions and they were open to making changes on the spot. I had thought I was going to have to spray down my interlock but when they took the blanket off it was as clean as when they put it on. They cleaned up after themselves quite well and about an hour of so after Matt left I received a call from Kelloway to ask how my experience was. My neighbour was interested in what was done and will be calling Greenworks to have some work done. We have dealt with many companies and we were super impressed with Greenworks.

I had sod installed in my backyard a few weeks ago and have nothing but good things to say about Greenworks. From start to finish they, were a pleasure to work with. At first, the sales guy Christina wasnt sure they could squeeze me until July but he kindly worked some magic and fit me in mid-May, which Im very grateful for. Yes, theyre a little more expensive than their competitors but I think its highly worth it given the quality of their product - and I understood why when they arrived with 8 guys, numerous trucks and equipment and completed the job quickly and professionally in 1.5 hours. All of the guys were friendly and answered all of my questions. My grass looks amazing and the sod and soil are very high quality. I would highly recommend them to anyone getting sod work done. After having a pool installed, our side lawn was destroyed by the heavy equipment. Green Works replaced it, as well as added sod to our backyard in select places. The team was fantastic, quick and super professional. They left very detailed care instructions and the grass looks amazing! Would recommend them!

Their vehicle was parked illegally all morning, blocking the Richmond Road detour and posing a hazard as Richmond traffic had to go in the opposite lane to go around their truck and trailer, unable to see the cars coming opposite. Didnt seem to care, they were smoking. Their leaf blowers are needlessly noisy and without regard for pedestrians. They have noise protection, we dont. If you want to feel disdained and cause a hazard for your city, this is the business for you.

Greenworks has been a salvation...just need a heavy rainfall to really test the solution. If everything works - the review can be adjusted up. :) I could not find a company in Ottawa to help with a drainage problem that involved a blockage in a buried pipe from a eavestrough downspout that caused water to overflow over my front patio. Landscapers didnt want to bother with me. Another company wanted to dig up the driveway (yikes!). They immediately proposed a simple and straight-forward solution (a pop-up drain in the garden) . I havent been able to see yet how the drain performs under heavy downpour conditions (that will really be the key test) so I may revisit my review later depending on performance.

We had a beautiful interlock patio with steps installed. Green Works (manager, crews, office staff) were totally professional throughout the entire process. The design process with Mike went smoothly. We appreciated that Mike made 2 visits to our place before commitment (signing). The crew members neatly removed the old patio and steps. They did a great job installing the new patio and steps. After each days work, the construction site, driveway, and street was cleaned up.The restoration crew completed the project with meticulous work on the sod & garden beds.

Installed sod in November 2022 I needed my yard updated from years of a space left empty from a pool that used to be in it. They came quickly to give an estimate and were very helpful throughout the process. They answered any and all of my questions and provided a watering guide for when the warmer weather returns. The staff on site were very friendly. Again, any time I had a question, they obliged. Never made me feel crazy or stupid for asking questions along the way. They just gave clear answers and advice. I highly recommend their services.

This is what buying soil should be like. The company deals mainly over the phone, but the person taking the calls was friendly and knowledgeable, they took our order straight away and were willing to deliver next-day (but were perfectly happy to wait for us to phone them). Delivery was prompt, with a friendly driver who called first to say he was coming and when, and he dropped drop the load off right where we needed it. It turned out we even got a bit more than wed ordered too, so that was a nice little bonus. Seemed like a good price too: Not that I know a whole lot about soil, but after four hours spent digging in it, it certainly seemed to be what wed asked them to send us. Would definitely recommend!

A green works representative called me up to arrange an estimate. I told him I had already ordered sod from a turf farm and was going to self install it. Instead of thanking me and moving on, Sam spent the next 15 minutes going into GREAT detail with tips on how to properly prep, maintain, and water the fresh sod. WHAT GENEROSITY!!! I had previously worked in landscaping so I thought I knew a few things; it turns out I knew next to nothing. Sam explained things slowly with amazing clarity and I realized how that conversation may have saved my lawn. I am an avid gardener... but laying turf is just a little different. Greenworks resodded our entire property (approximately 5,000 square feet) this spring and did an amazing job! The company and its people are an absolute pleasure to work with. Sam was amazingly patient with us as our exterior design plans evolved over the last two years. He came back on multiple occasions to go over ideas and revise the estimate accordingly. And when the big day finally arrived, the crew that installed the new sod, under the direction of Matt, worked tirelessly for more than 12 hours to get the job done in one day. And the result was absolutely perfect. Our property has been transformed as a result. There is simply no better company to work with when it comes to landscaping than Greenworks!

We hired Green Works to replace the sod in our front yard this past June and couldnt be happier with the result! The crew was fast and efficient and did an amazing job. They even took the time to cut some concrete around our driveway so that we would end up with a better installation. We get compliments on our new grass all the time! They called us a few weeks after the install to make sure everything was growing as it should - these guys really know their stuff. Great product and great service. I have to say, my experience dealing with Green Works was absolutely % amazing. From the 1st initial call to them, I spoke with Nicole. She was an absolute delight to speak to as she set up an appointment with me to send a consultant. Enter Sam, who spent an entire amount of time answering all our questions. His expertise sold us on the company. Tyson, the coordinator from the install, placed a couple of calls to me with great news for a date. Fast forward to August 4th. Install new sod. Absolutely great crew show up. Friendly, and very hard working. Kendall and his crew are simply amazing! Green Works keeps in contact with you sending an agenda to follow for watering, cutting, fertilizing etc. I simply cant say enough positive things about Green Works ! I never write a review but the work these guys did made me break my rule. First, they were the cheapest for the job I shopped around. Secondly, They were always very responsive, someone always picked up the phone. They came on the day they promised and completed the job professionally and efficiently. The best part was the crew on the site, particularly the foreman, Matt . I requested them to do several additional small tasks here and there (like cutting shrubs/ over-hanging weeds, or disposing some pieces that were lying around in my backyard, and even to install a missing knob on the water outlet in a very small, cramped-up space. They did it all smilingly and never said, Oh, thats not our job or thats not part of the contract. Well done, Green Works! I wish all other contractors I deal with were even half as good.

We recently completed our backyard project through Green Works. They have done an amazing job! They are well organized and on schedule. For our new sod they provided us with a detailed maintenance guide that is very easy to follow. Sam has done an excellent job in overseeing our project from estimation to completion. He is quite knowledgeable, calm and easy to deal with. When we requested some changes his response was quick, positive and the resolution was on time. We are very satisfied with the high quality of the work and the level of skill that Michel and his crew brought to the project. The landscaping and driveway transformed the look of our house. Very professional service. Contacted by phone the day before to confirm that everything is ready to go. Emailed instructions as to what would be needed the day of the install, and instructions on how to take care of the new sod for the next months. Staff on day of install very well organized and worked efficiently to complete the job (full lawn in front and back of property) by mid afternoon. Office called the following day to check that I was completely satisfied with the install.

Green Works was very helpful, offering useful landscaping suggestions based on my needs and the limitations of the property. Attention was paid to detail in the development of the design and during its implementation. Green Works staff listened and responded to my comments and concerns. The completed project was everything I hoped it would be.

Matt and his team did a fabulous job of putting in a new lawn for us. The old one was too high and full of weeds. Matt took several inches off to remove all the weeds then re-graded the slope. He also helped delineate a new garden going around the utility box. Everyone on the team was professional, friendly, and hard working. We had the absolute pleasure of working with Sam and his team at Greenworks Contracting this summer to do some sodding and landscaping in our backyard. We first met Sam in June when he came to our home to give us a quote. He had the great balance of listening to our ideas, while offering suggestions from his experience. The time had come to re-do the front steps and landing of our home. Fall of 2018, we received quotes from 2 companies that were referred to us, both quite confident in their ability to take on this project. While it made our decision a bit difficult, we chose Green Works Contracting. From the beginning, in the meeting with owner Kellaway Thompson, the attention to detail was highly evident. The proposal outlined specifics with regards to the process, products and associated labour costs. The pricing was competitive and the commitment to completion was clearly stated. Because the property is tiered, the skills required to do this work are quite complex. Adhering to the original design, the installing and levelling of the stone work, (i.e. 450lb each step) required mastery and patience. Mike and Tyson were the crew assigned to this job and what an incredible team! They arrived early in the morning and worked straight through until dusk. Their attention to detail was second to none. Very organized and welcoming of any questions we had during the process, it was pure delight watching these skilled men create the final product. They did what they said they would do, in the time frame they committed, at the agreed upon cost. The outcome is great. We have had many compliments and we haven t done the landscaping part yet! Further, even with all the heavy equipment in place to complete this work, Mike and Tyson were extremely considerate of our neighbours. Thank you all for such a professional and creative experience. It is a pleasure working with companies like yours.

I hired Green works Contracting for interlock patio installation and lawn re-sodding for my home last fall. The patio design by Kellaway was beautiful, and the quality of the work was high. Sam was very patient with my changes on the landscape design. He came twice to provide me the estimates due to the changes I made. We have never dealt with a more professional and satisfaction oriented company than Green Works. Our lawn and yard was the worst in the neighborhood and is now the best. Finished the work a few days ago, the lawn is beautiful. Had a bad experience with an inexperienced lawn contractor 5 years ago that didn t seem to know which side to lay the sod!!! Obviously I m exaggerating but my lawn never took and deteriorated. Green works was very professional during the estimate process by giving it in a folder with proof of insurance and having additional documents to assist the decision process. Mind you, other estimates were sent very unprofessionally by text, had to contact another company 3 times to finally have the estimate, and had 3 non call backs. I received an estimate, from the last company, almost double the amount than everyone else. (Guess they didn t want to do the job). Good landscaping contractors in Ottawa are rare and far in between. Be wary and do your due diligence. I would, however, have no problem recommending Green Works. The best company for the price versus quality of work. The installers were professional, polite, tidy and they were courteous during the install. The follow-up phone call the next week was a nice touch too. They seem to really care and have pride about their work.

Green Works did our whole landscape in 2019, including drainage, grading, interlock, paving, fencing and sodding. We had met with several contractors before Green Works, but none were really prepared to do the whole job. We first met Kellaway in late fall 2018 with the intention of doing the work in 2019. He met with us several times to go over the design until we were satisfied, and we were able to schedule a August - Sept 2019 for the work. Materials arrived promptly and on time, and their team did a stellar job. Everyone paid attention to detail and aesthetics, tweaking and adjusting every cut until it was perfect, and selecting just the right stones to tie the job together. Strongly recommended.

We had Green Works Contracting resod out lawn and I would definitely recommend them as the results were fantastic and it was a very pleasant experience from start to end. The crew worked very carefully around our property and even had to dig up roots from an old tree to keep the new lawn even. Clean up afterwards was decent and as mentioned, the final product looks great (and at a competitive price). The maintenance guide with watering instructions was also helpful and appreciated. Overall, one satisfied customer.

Greenworks did an amazing job restoring my grub eaten lawn. You can see from the before and after pictures how well they laid the sod (removing a few inches of dead matter, re-grading, adding new soil, and even fertilizing between the new soil and sod). I also had 3 fantastic trees delivered and installed. From the first consultation by Kellaway, to the 3 crew members who made it all happen and Graham managing the paperwork, the entire experience was fantastic. They cleaned up everything after the work was done and even repaired my neighbours side lawn from the minor wear from the wheel barrow. Great team and even more amazing work! I would highly recommend. Please note the fence and deck were installed by another contractor - only the grass and trees were completed by Greenworks.
