Been using Will for years now for any tree work that I need. He isnt just a tree guy, he is degreed in horticulture, so he really knows his stuff. Aside from that he is genuinely a nice person and easy to deal with. I give him a high recommendation.

We had been looking for a landscaper to finish our yard for a year and are happy with the work that Woody Tree Service provided. While they are not the cheapest option locally, this was the only company to tell us that the plants we wanted wouldn t thrive in the area we needed them planted. The other 3-4 companies we got quotes from simply gave a price to put them in the ground. Given that we needed over 40 of these plants, we didn t want to take a chance with just anyone. Ultimately, we decided against schip laurels in favor of California privets. (It was hard to stomach the astronomical cost of schip laurels, especially when told they wouldn t thrive in our yard due to lots of root competition from nearby trees.) We are also happy with the fact that Will understood our desire for an English countryside aesthetic. He helped us choose and plant hydrangeas and roses that flower all summer long. We re so looking forward to enjoying our beautiful yard this summer, and for many summers to come. They were hardworking, got the job done quickly, and cleaned up each day. We would highly recommend to anyone looking for a knowledgeable and quality landscape designer/installer.

We recently moved into a new home and have called multiple people to work around the house. Woody was the first to call us back and he arrived at our home right away. He was extremely knowledgeable about plant & tree species, told us exactly what needed to be done to the trees and on what timeline, and gave us a very fair price. He took down two very large trees for us and trimmed another. He and his crew were respectful of the property, taking care to blow debris and rake leaves and branches. I wouldnt call anyone else next time I need tree trimming or removal.

All of the workers were very professional and all were very skilled arborists. They worked fast and efficiently and did a great job. We were extremely pleased and we will be using their services again. We highly recommend them!

Woodys did an amazing job clearing out a huge tree that had fallen in my yard. They also cleared a 15 foot stump that Asplahnd had left. Woodys ground both stumps and pruned several trees in our yard. They were professional, punctual and reasonable (price). We would use them again in a heartbeat.

Woody Tree Service is a definite highly recommend. They are a family run business with many years of experience. They have done several jobs on my block recently and my neighbors all were very happy. Recently, William was doing a job for my neighbor so I asked him to take a look at a tree in my yard that was dead and looking like a potential problem. He gave me an honest assessment and my options. His price to remove it was much lower than I had been previously quoted. His crew works hard all day and are all very polite and considerate of not making any mess or damaging the grass etc... They removed my tree and left everything as if they had never even been there. If you live on the north shore and need a tree service call Will, you wont be disappointed.

William and Joes squads are the Avengers of the tree services. The task: ten trees; three giant hazard trees to be removed, the rest of them to be pruned; all of them stood on the property line shared with our six neighbors. Working duration: 3 days. Extremely professional, talented, and proficient. Seeing them smooth challenges out on site with caution and ease, we gazed in awe. One of the big sick tree withered, its thin trunk deceived the size of its root, the team wasnt hesitant to work extra hours to remove the stump completely. William was our contact person, hes extremely responsive, helpful, and knowledgeable, keeps us worry-free with quick updates, suggestions, and solutions. Emergency phone call to William at 8:30pm 12/23/22 during that cold snap and high winds.. that storm took a tree down in my yard which ripped electric and cable wires from the pole to my house. He came to the house 20 mins after I called, said hed back first thing on Christmas Eve morning and removed part of the tree that would impede PSEG from being safe when they got there. PSEG showed up and was able to reconnect us safely giving us heat again! William then showed up a few days later and took away the remainder of the tree as planned and cleaned up the yard unbelievably well (which I didnt expect). Hes fabulous. I would recommend him without hesitation!

About 2 weeks ago, I called Woody Tree Service for trimming two 48 year old trees and one tree in our back yard. Our call was answered and the service came on the same day. The manager explained how he would handle the job and he gave us a very fair estimate. Two days later, our trees and property looked wonderful. Our property was well groomed, light and airy. Watched a Woody crew take down a 4 story tree from a front yard on 9th St. Brooklyn. Having swung a chain saw myself a bit, I was impressed with the safety, efficiency & speed. A very well coordinated crew. They had it down in what seemed like minutes, logged, chipped & cleaned up so you could hardly tell anything happened at all.

William and his crew removed a tall spruce tree that had died. The position of the tree in proximity to my and my neighbor s house called for careful work so as to prevent any damage to either property. These Woody professionals soon put our minds at ease because of the high quality and considerate job they performed. They did a superb job and a complete cleanup. We hired Joe from Woody Tree Service to remove several 100 + trees with stump grinding and top off numerous others from our small backyard In Locust Valley. He and his crew did an incredible job with very difficult conditions, and even cleared out a bunch of additional smaller dead trees without additional charges. The job was complete in two days and at a very reasonable cost. Neat and professional the entire time. I highly recommend them.

Joe and his crew were execellent. They arrived ahead of schedule and removed a large tree (and stump) in a difficult spot. They fully prepped the site to protect my patio and did a meticulous clean up before leaving. Highly recommend! I will be using them in the future for sure

We have now used Woody Tree for five different projects on our property, over a span of about six years. Every time, the work has been done extremely-professionally and has exceeded our expectations. After years of working with them, I understand why the proprietor, Joe, is the go-to guy on the North Shore for local governments (for advice and emergency work), owners of big estates, and even movie studios. (Twentieth Century Fox hired him recently to turn an overgrown forest on an estate they were using as a movie set into a beautiful, pristine wooded driveway.) His bread and butter is still regular folks properties, and I know he loves to help his community by offering free tree inspections no matter how big or small ones property is. I found Joe by a recommendation from a local businessowner that I trust. I asked him to come look at the trees on our property to make sure that nothing was going to fall on the house. Joe looked at all the trees near the house, and said they were fine. He is a Certified Arborist, and talks fluently and intelligently about different trees by name, and can tell you which ones are indigenous and which ones had been added by someone as landscaping, what kinds of soil each likes, how long they are likely to live and what may cause them problems, etc. A walk through the property with him is just fun. Concentrating on the trees around the house, Joe said that none were a threat, but had some long-term ideas about cleaning out and pruning trees in the dense woods not directly near the house. He described what we could do, but said it wasnt necessary or urgent. As he was leaving, one tree caught his eye. He said that this was a dangerous tree that was likely to fall in the next big storm, and proposed to take it down ASAP. When Joe took this giant tree down, I had him save a few slices from the trunk, because it was thoroughly rotten all the way through the core. This was, as it turned out, just a few months before Sandy, and there is no doubt that it would have fallen on our house. When I say Joe took the tree down, that is the other great thing about his service. You walk through the property with him, and then he, not some crew from out of state, comes back with his huge bucket truck (and a local crew) to do the work. After this good experience, we asked him o do a large project, aesthetically-pruning a lot of trees and shrubbery, and addressing all the trees in our woods on one side of the property. His work was a good value: we noticed how carefully and thoroughly he worked, leaving bird sanctuaries in place way up high in some of the trees, and ultimately making a spectacular difference in the propertys appearance. He also recommended a long-term plan to add some new trees, which we have done in a few phases. We are so happy we did, because they have grown just as he said! In another project, Joe cleaned out an area by our driveway, and added ground cover and some beautiful small trees. He even knew of a low shrub that would grow by the house where nothing else ever had, even the plants suggested by a famous nursery. That area now looks beautiful! I appreciate that Joe never tries to push anything, but is clearly working to establish a relationship over the long haul. He builds trust by doing those little extras that others would just let go. It is fun to watch him up high in his bucket truck, carefully-choosing where to prune the trees. He has given us a property that looks beautiful, with a forest that will grow happily and safely for another decade. In short, Woody Tree Service provides quality, extensive knowledge, and value. By explaining to us what we had and how we could showcase it best, Joe has made us prouder of and more knowledgeable about our beautiful property and its history.

Honest, and knowledgeable. This guy is busy. Probably because he is very good at what he does. Came and did the work as described. Even had to take off a couple of extra limbs that were cracked. Didnt charge anything extra. At the end of the day there was a very minor issue that he had to take care of. He said he would come back in 2 days to do it. He didnt ask to get paid for the work he performed or try to negotiate to get paid some of the money owed to him. Came back that very same day addressed the issue and got paid. That tells you he cares about his work just as much as getting paid. Very rare nowadays.

Joe and his crew were outstanding, their knowledge and experience were obvious and awesome to watch. They removed a huge maple that was damaged and hanging over my neighbors fence and gazebo. They are the right people with the right equipment. They are responsible priced and left both yards spotless. Id use them again and I highly recommend them.

I wish I could say that I had the same experience as ste ven (was his a larger job, who knows). Joe came promptly and seemed knowledgeable - I was impressed. After two unreturned calls, I caught up with him after my third call trying to book the appointment (the unresponsiveness should have been my first clue, but he had the best price and he seemed really nice). Then, it was he might come one day , if not, another, but he would call to confirm (on a big job - my job was small). It goes without saying that none of these three things happened: didnt show up either day and never called to explain the no-show. I dont typically write reviews, but this lack of consideration is a bit much. If you dont want the job, just say so.
