American Yard Service & Irrigation in Glastonbury

Don’t recommend purchasing wood from them. Wood was advertised as seasoned, but it is very wet, moisture reading at 34. Well seasoned should be 15-20. Called and they just said it’s a bad time of year to buy wood.

Pedro, the technician, was at my -new- house today. The ex-owners neglected to give us the info. for this particular yard service company. They actually left us a big box full of manuals and instructions, so the info. might be somewhere in there. God works in mysterious ways... I really needed an irrigation specialist to teach me how to use the system and, most importantly, to Winterize the system when the time comes. Pedro wrote my name and all contact info for me to become a new customer. He also walked me through the whole setup of the system and found one leaking pipe, which he immediately fixed. I have never owned a house with an irrigation system so I truly appreciate Pedro's professionalism and knowledge about the system, besides being a very friendly person who did not seemed rushed to get out of here to another job. I sent the company an email so that we can continue to receive uninterrupted service. I will update this review if needed but so far, so good!

Due to problems with our prior irrigation company, I cancelled them last autumn after they shut down our irrigation system. After getting a recommendation from General Landscaping, I called American Yard Service & Irrigation. The owner, Jamie, immediately called me back and came to walk through my yard to talk about potential needs. He was knowledgeable, kind, and customer oriented. Since it was autumn, and the system had been shut down, we decided to get him back in the spring to start up the system and assess the needs. Very early in the spring once temperatures were acceptable, he and a crew came to start up and assess. They discovered several sprinkler heads in the woods, and one that wasn’t working (problems not taken care of by our prior service). They also found that some of my foundation plants were not getting sufficient water. In addition, the control box and outside filter was very old and limited in their capabilities. I decided to upgrade those two old systems. They returned a few days later to fix the problems that they had found and to upgrade the controller and filter. I cannot tell you how much I love the new controller. It can be operated from my phone from anywhere and has a lot of other functionality. A couple of days later, I noticed standing water near one of the sprinkler heads. I made a call, and they returned that day, and found and replaced a broken valve. Every time I’ve called or interacted with American Yard Service & Irrigation personnel, I have gotten a very quick response. All the personnel that have visited my property have been responsive, knowledgeable, and customer oriented, and their charges are very reasonable. I highly recommend American Yard Service & Irrigation.

Knowledgeable and efficient

After 15 years, this service dropped us because we lived too far away. They never told us in advance, nor did they recommend an alternate service. They did not return our calls. They left us hanging

Can’t speak for landscaping or yard services but I don’t recommend ordering wood from here. It was wet and most pieces were so big we needed to chop into 3-4 small pieces. Delivery was fast that was the only bonus.
