TruGreen Lawn Care in Gaithersburg

I reached out to TruGreen in Fall 2024 for a quote. They recommended we hold off until the Spring for service, but continuously called trying to pressure me to lock in a price now by paying. I repeatedly told them I will reach out in the Fall and to please stop calling me. They continued to use numerous numbers to call me multiple times per day. They have started again this month. The same people will call and text numerous times even after confirming over text they will not contact me again. I have told them to stop over a dozen times. Do not reach out to TruGreen unless you want to be harassed by them.

I was never happy with true green lawn service. They just charged me every months but not only helpful but Also there treatments or whatever killed and damaged many spots in my grass. Multi times I ask for better or at least fair service to not damage my grass, but regardless, nothing changed. I just canceled there service.

They have come now TWICE and broken up stuff in our yard. This includes flowers in the beds, knocking down path lights and just a general unprofessional and uncaring manner about our home. This is is their LAST chance. If technicians cannot handle the equipment theyre supposed to be using, perhaps a job that doesnt involve physical labor is more suited for them?

The treatments didn t work. The lawn is worse than when we started. I don t think TG made it worse; I think it was getting worse and TG failed to make it better, so it kept getting worse. Also TG s customer service is terrible. Nobody can give us a straight answer about anything. Treatments happen by surprise. Sometimes nobody shows up when scheduled. Sometimes two people show up. For us, TG s service was a total waste of money. I saw no benefit, only the annoyance of expecting someone to show up when none did, and then later being surprised by a new person. Apparently TG also can t seed unless a big machine can get into the yard. (We have a gate, and I guess TG doesn t have one of those simple bucket spreaders.) So we paid for seeding, and TG couldn t do it. Meanwhile, we didn t get a refund until I called six months later to demand it. As far as I m concerned, the entire service is a scam.

They offer the best value for lawn weed control. I wish they offered the same service for flower beds, but overall they do a great job.

Fabio is the only tech I will let work on my lawn he is knowledgeable and professional and does a fantastic job and my lawn is as close to perfect as possible

Were about halfway through our first season with Tru Green and are completely dissatisfied. I think that every time theyve come, there has been an issue. Once they went to the wrong house. Weve had several weed treatments but no decrease in weeds. The first time our tech came, he said we needed to have areas seeded otherwise it was a waste of money but then said they couldnt seed until Fall. It is a real hassle to get ahold of anyone and they tell you what you want to hear, then nothing changes. Every time theyre here they leave a message on our app saying they knocked on our door but no one was home. Usually we ARE home! I dont understand what were paying for. Well, our weeds look greener, I think.

The gentleman who came notice weeds in the lawn. Shouldn t you all schedule a treatment for the weeds.

We have a monthly contract for mosquito control. I work from home and was home when they came out yesterday. He sprayed the front yard but did not get back in his vehicle, drive through our alley, and spray the back. When I called to report an incomplete service, I was not helped and instead was challenged that I was calling their technician a liar. All I asked was for them to come back out and make it right, per the contract. I had to call again and was told I had to wait for a call back to schedule someone to return. Absurd. Horrible customer experience, and unethical technician. Go elsewhere.

Some type of broadleaf weed appeared and they responded right away and sprayed. The weeds are drying up and will be gone in a few days. Thanks Derrick, for letting me know you had arrived and making sure you covered it all.

1- Performing aeration in the heat of mid August. 2- The aeration was not done properly and didnt cover all areas uniformly. 3- There is no sign of overseeding or even seeding despite watering regularly. 4- When contacted customer care, all they did is defend the local branch, no one even bothered to drive by and check their workmanship!

I am glad that we have Trugreen on our side. Over the past few years of consistent and expert care, our yard has become lush, green and weed free. Our specialist leaves great notes and recommendations that continue the care even when he is not here.

This particular branch of TruGreen likes to use other peoples private property as their turnaround zone (even with visible private drive, no trespassing signs) instead of using their clients driveway to turn around leaving me with the damage done by their tires on my driveway. Thanks TruGreen, youve done this on three separate occasions and all are on video. I cant even get your branch manager to leave me a legitimate phone number to talk about the damages done.

I ve called and asked how come they never come when they even texted and emailed me, sating they will and on their way. Recently I was told they couldn t find our account!! Unbelievable!! I kindly asked if they could call me and let me know what it is going on since they keep on doing that. They cannot find the account to help the customer but, they do to send you the bill. Anyway, Nothing ! No help at all. No one ever got back to me. I called again and they said they will come on 05/10/22 NOTHING ! It also has happened that they have said the job was completed and having surveillance cameras at the front and the back of the property they didn t even showed up! Luckily we have cameras otherwise anyone could trust their word and no wonder why the lawn doesn t seems to change. After posting your review all they have to say is : I m sorry about your experience. Send an email to blah blah blah but no solutions. No customer service at all.

There are many plans on website but unfornately none of them list price . I was charged $60 per visit . I can still find bare spot on the lawn . I wish the plan can be clear so customers know how to compare . Positive Punctuality

I have had TruGreen for many years and it shows. The lawn year after year after year is in great shape and it has become quite a source of pride for me. I confidently recommend their services.

I had my lawn aerated and over seeded . I was very Hesitant to get overseeding done but against my better judgement I did . #1 the service rep said they will contact me two days before it was the night before . I wanted to be there . The text said 1 - something . I changed my works schedule and the tech came in the morning . My husband and I was very disappointed the tech left my front side walk with dirt everywhere that I had to clean up . I figured if I m paying that much money they would use a blower to tidy things up . And it looked like I had more seed in my flower bed then in my grass area . My gut told me to seed myself . Something else I have fix . Might have to take my mulch up and replace so grass won t grow in my flower bed .

Clover had started to take over in several areas of my yard and now I dont see any. My grass is thick and green and looks great just after one season of treatment. Friends and neighbors have complimented on how goods it looks.

TruGreen ruined my lawn, my entire front yard is brown and dead. The technicians admitted fault, and management said they would reseed at no cost. Well, they reseeded and charged for it, and the grass is still not growing. They repeatedly said they would remove the charge and never did. Now it s with collections so I have to deal with that. Worse, it s impossible to get in touch with them. I ve been calling all week and met with 3 hour wait times. When they call back, the line is dead. Their chat app is worthless and doesn t help. This place is a complete joke and scam. I can t even cancel my own account without reaching them, which as I said is next to impossible unless you have half a day to wait on hold. Don t ever use them, you will regret it and waste hours of your time and a lot of money.

Very unhappy with the Gaithersburg branch of TruGreen. After my last service, they killed patches of grass in my yard, creating brown spots. It was even noted in my service notes from a previous application that there were two different types of grass (the person who overseeded last year used the wrong seed). My grass now looks like a spotted leopard. I m in a strict HOA, so getting this fixed ASAP is most important. Trying to get a hold of anyone in the local office is impossible. Had to leave a message with their 800 call center (do not be fooled, their local number does NOT allow you to talk to anyone local), and was told someone would call me back. I specifically said I wanted to speak with the Branch Manager. Fast forward to today, I get a call from just a supervisor saying that they ll need to send a tech out to see. When I asked for the Branch Manager, was told that he s not available. I asked for him to call me back, or I can visit the office to discuss how this will be rectified. He said he ll pass along my message. Mind you, I ve already paid for the entire year. The tech is supposed to be out first thing Friday morning. I ll be happy to update my review based on my experience, either positive or negative. In the meantime, I highly suggest selecting a new company until they can accept responsibility and get their customer service act together.

Great customer service from changing a service date to the actual technician that serviced my lawn.

Unfortunately, they did not list trees & shrubs as a service (hard to imagine, kinda tells you what the company really wants). The tree and shrub tech, Mike Maines, is one of their strongest performers and has carefully and fastidiously cared for and reported upon our landscaping.

We have been using them for past 24 months. Weeds are growing like crazy and nobody from TG cares. They dont call back, dont schedule manager to come over and look at it. Their applications dont work, maybe they spray my grass with water to save money on chemicals....who knows...We will be canceling their service- whatever they do is not working...

Used them for a long long time. The quality of work is now awful. My yard is 35% weeds. I pay for 7 treatments and have a sprinkler system. I have the lawn professionally cut. The worst part is it will take days to a week to get them on the phone. You wait on hold for about an hour, then the message comes on that they will call you back... .No one ever does. If your lucky enough to get through, you will be speaking to someone in the Philippines or Trinidad. They will assure you that they will have someone state side follow up, but no one every calls. They used to be ok to good but now they are terrible and no one cares. Dont pre-pay them like I did. You will loose your money. Find a better service other than TrueGreen Chemlawn.

Sprayed for mosquitoes, stil bitten. Supposed to come out and spray again fir free if not free from the pests. Didnt happen, 1 month later sprayed again, still there, ouch! And was charged again. Try a different company for mosquitoes!

Tried them 2 different times. First time np results. So second time I paid for the premium service. Still no results. I requested a manager and I was told I would have to call the field tech and ask him to bring a manager. No call back and no supervisor came. I went to Home Depot and bought weed control and I saw results in 2 to to 4 days. If someone with no training can do better thats reasonable enough to cancel. No thank you. Waste of money!

Your specialist 1027 Randhir Chand came to my property a fewdays back to treat for disease control my trees and shrubs. He answered many of my questiona about certan issues I had. He was very knowlegible had lot of patience and responded all my questions satisfactorily . You have hired this type of employess who really care about the health of our trees and shrubs. I wish him well. Would like to work with him again if I need to.

Horrible customer service. I have been trying to cancel for months and am consistently scheduled for service. I was just placed on hold to speak with a supervisor but was put back into the phone tree.Now I m listening to dead air. FML. Highly discourage using this company.

TRUEGREEN LAWN CARE This is a terrible company! Let me begin by saying I made the biggest mistake of my life letting TrueGreen on my property. For years I had been taking care of my lawn myself and I had great lawn. I prepaid TrueGreen $510.69 for a year service and my lawn became a huge disappointment. They destroyed my lawn. My lawn began growing the largest freaking mushrooms I have ever seen, my lawn was no longer green and and now filled with weeds. If anyone out there ever prepaid for this service you need to see this! As stated, I prepaid $510.69 on October 14, 2020 for a years service. This is to provide 8 treatments. Even thou I prepaid for the service they continued to debit my account. June 9.... $24.22 July 26 $86.53 October 25 $86.53 December 2 $86.53 I have spoken to three different persons regarding this situation and they continue to debit my account in October and December even after I contacted them. These people are double dipping and are downright criminals. If anyone out there prepaid for treatments please check your account. This is so wrong and they are aware of this scam that they are doing. I had to CANCEL this service.....I would like all my money back

After being a customer of Scott s/TruGreen for over 15 years, I made the decision to cancel my service with ten. My main reason was based in dishonesty. The some specialist over the past 3 years were caught not applying the appropriate service. They would do the front but not the back. When confronted, they apologized and admitted they had been having some issues with some of their specialist. Managers would offer their personal cell number but when I reached out, they would not return my calls. The final straw that broke the camels back was applying a treatment the past January while the grass was dormant and still have temps below freezing at night. The specific application went against protocol. The dishonesty over the past 3 years was too much to overcome. They performed no soil samples to determine the PH level. Instead I was informed the company s takes samples in area parks to determine PH. That is unacceptable. I had weed control yet I had Nutsedge growing and spreading and a TruGreen did nothing. I wish the company was consistent with their service but it was time to cancel.

Decided to try the service out for a year. Worst decision ever! The technician they had assigned to our house would often miss large chunks of our yard (not thorough at all). There were times where he wouldnt even do our backyard. I guess he assumed no-one was home/watching. When confronted about it, he told me that our backyard didnt need it, and adding another application would kill our backyard (yeah right). The following year, the yard looked good, but as it grew warmer, the yard turned brown and patchy (even with daily watering). Tons of weeds ect. (even though we had a weed treatment in our package) - they would even miss days that were scheduled, and wouldnt show up for another week or two after the fact. Then get excuses that they were backed up on work...lol. Every time we called them with issues, TruGreen always seemed to have some lame excuse. The kicker was auto-signing us up for another year when all we had was a year long contract with them. They even tried auto-enrolling us for a more expensive package without our permission. Totally unacceptable! Weve been treating the yard ourselves this year, and it already looks 10 times better than it did around this time last year. This company is nothing but one giant, overpriced scam! Avoid at all costs!

This is the most unreliable company I have ever dealt with. I prepaid for service and have not had my yard sprayed for over 7 weeks. They schedule but don t show up and give no explanation why. You aren t able to talk to anyone in authority and just get rescheduled for them to not show up again. Worse company ever.

While this company was trying to convince me to purchase their plans, the guy said that whenever you need the animosquito spraying service, its free. I have been trying to have that free service for two weeks and still nothing. Even the regular schedule is delayed now! I had guests the other night and no one could stay outside, thanks to mosquitoes!

Poor customer service, technicians are not providing excellent service. These products will definitely kill your lawn!

I do not recommend this company to service anyone s lawn. They have specialists who say they completed a specific job and you clearly can see with your camera that they did not. What is the purpose of paying for a service if the quality of work provided is unreliable. I canceled because I was not being provided with the services I asked for when I initially signed up. My lawn looks much worst than it did before I started with TruGreen. I will certainly not be returning to TruGreen for any services.

The company came out for one service and performed its lawn analysis. I have been attempting to schedule a second service for over a month and a half and TruGreen has cancelled over 4 times with absolutely no attempt to get in touch with me. I would NEVER consider using this company for any service again.

Worse service ever. DO NOT USE THEM, you will be better off to buy the products at Homedepot or Lowes and apply them your self. I spoke with a sales person at the beginning of spring inform him what I was looking for he promised that by middle of summer I was going to have a nice looking lawn and also sold me the mosquito treatment. Well guess what my lawn is worse now and the mosquito treatment doesnt work. When I contact him his answer was that he couldnt help me. It has already been a month that I called customer service and open a complained with them and requested for a Supervisor or manager to call him, still havent heard from them. At this point I have done a little bit of more research and notice that they have a really bad reviews. Hope my review helps someone else who is looking for lawn treatment. Please save your money

I hired TruGreen to treat for mosquitos and treat our lawn for weeds, etc. The last time the technician sprayed for mosquitos, he did a cursory job. I called to request a retreatment. We were supposed to have a mosquito treatment yesterday, which was essential as we were entertaining today. The technician never showed. That same day, I called to inquire the whereabouts of our service. No one returned my called. I called today for an explanation. The phone representative left several messages with the field manager to follow up with me. Nothing. Subsequently, TruGreen did not arrive to do their job. Today, my guests, which included children, were annihilated by mosquitos. I am appalled by the unprofessionalism of this company.

I signed up for the TruComplete plan last year. The TruComplete package is supposed to come with Aeration/Overseeding, Grub Prevention, and Pre-Emergent/Targeted Weed Control. All of their service invoices said the same thing. Today, I applied potash fertilizer to strengthen the root system of your lawn and improve its health and vigor. Thats it. My last service was 3/5/2020 to put down slow-releasing fertilizer. Nothing in April. My lawn is now easily the worst on our street. There are patches of nothing, small patch of dead grass on the front lawn where the grub larvae live and crabgrass growing on the side/back of my property. I just cancelled my service/had to fight for a partial refund of prepayment for the year and will be trying either Lawn Doctor or Sunday. I am keeping their mosquito service because it seems to be working.

trugreen scheduled my lawn aeration appointment for 9/29 and rescheduled 8 times before they called me on 10/27 after begging and pleading with them and prakash let me know that they wouldnt be doing my lawn for no other reason except that they erroneously measured my lawn and wouldnt honor their own price that they quoted me. They are a mess dont use them for anything. Their lawn service is a poor value and their technicians and under qualified and unknowledgeable. I wouldnt be surprised if they hire people to leave fake reviews.

I signed up in early September for year long applications and aeration. They had me scheduled to do all lawn applications. After the initial visit of weed control, I was awaiting them to aerate and over seed. I called and stated I was scheduled for the following week. No one showed. We are now in 1st week of November and they want to come out after my initiated calls. What happened to scheduling your clients. Why do I have to do this. Long story short, we already had our freeze and therefore aeration is out of the question for seeding. You need at least 3-5 weeks prior to the freeze to have germation for the seeds to work, otherwise the seeds die off after the freeze. No sense in wasting money. They wanted to reschedule in Spring. I said yes, but it will be with another company.

Horrible! Dont waist your Money. Paid Trugreen for over an year and my lawn just got worst. Spoke many times during this year about my lawn condition, they only offered extra services at extra charge always something else that you should do. Called 2 different times canceling my account, last week their applicator came by to service my lawn and I told him that my account was cancelled, he did not see that, at that time he selected on his tablet client do not want to continue service and requested one more time for the account to be closed and today I got another call from them trying to reschedule my lawn service. WORST COMPANY --- RIP OFF

I have had 1 service so far and they have asked for a review already so I will give it. I have not seen any results, nor really expected any, with my first service.

The technician let me know when he was on his way to my house, so I was able to be there to speak to him about the service. He explained the treatment plan I signed up for and what to expect in the coming weeks.

Complete nightmare. Cancelled my service within 2 hours of signing up. There is no communication and customer service is straight up terrible. My phone hasn t stopped ringing and nobody has tried to make it right. I will never recommend or use this company again. Don t waste your time

I have shown Craig the issues related the patches of dead grasses around, weeds, and informed him of numerous dead earthworm and still some on the walkway. I dont know how long will it take to get rid of the weeds and patches of areas where no grasses. It was good talking with him. He said he did not want to stress out the lawn more and will be coming back after a week to treat the weed. I hope our lawn will be as green as it supposed to be without any weeds.

Technician Glenn is GREAT. Management shelters themselves through staff and after 4 years of paying lawn is far from country club look. Found this year that they are in hiding and unresponsive. Also, after this year Montgomery County is banning most of their products for weed control.

My yard looks horrible. Yard looks 10 times worse than when I took care of it myself. Complained on phone and email and have received no corrective action or follow up. Very disappointed.

They just schedule without consulting the home owner to make sure the day is good for the homeowner!!!!!!!!

I RECENTLY HAD MY LAWN AERATED AND OVERSEEDED. I MET THE SERVICE REP WHEN HE ARRIVED AND SPECIFICALLY ASKED HIM TO CONCENTRATE ON BALD SPOTS ON THE FAR SIDE OF MY YARD. HE DID EXACTLY WHAT I ASKED; HOPEFULLY IT WILL FILL IN WITH LOTS OF WATERING!

my yard looks horrible, much worse than it was before the service. we even started to receive letters from HOA regarding the poor condition of our grass. they promised to over-seed so that we would have grass but nothing grew. instead we have bold places with dirt and no grass. we are embarrassed to invite people because of that. Poor service.

Bad customer service, even worse communication from technicians and employees online. They did not do a good job with aeration and seeding, as they were still a lot of brown patches after a month of seeding. I call them and they schedule another seeding session, but the technician comes and suggests I need lime treatment before anything else is done and it should have been the first thing done before anything else. He also says he will throw in lime treatment free for me. Then he disappears for a week and truegreen associates are of no help when I call them. They are rude and keep disconnecting the phone when I complain about the issue. They eventually charge me about $50 for lime treatment. Nov 5, 2019 Update After n number of calls and agreeing to pay for lime treatment, there is still no response from Truegreen on when the service will be done on my property. I call them every few days and the customer support folks have no clue when a technician can come visit my house. I wonder how this company is functioning with this kind of service and treatment of customers. Pathetic

If I could give Trugreen zero stars, I would. This company claims to do a thorough soil analysis as part of its service, but it does NOT do so. Therefore, any treatment applied is generic and not tailored for the lawn. Also, they dont show up when scheduled and claims that treatment visits can be shifted/rescheduled anytime, without the homeowners knowledge. So, even when Trudy (the automated phone service) calls the day before to say your lawn will be treated, its bogus. They may or may not show up. Finally, after demanding to MEET with someone, the appointment was made, but absolutely no one showed up or called. This occurred twice....and both times, I stayed how from my job. Just unbelievable!!! After I called to cancel the service, a supervisor finally came out and told me that my lawn was covered in weeds (after several treatments) because the treatment broke down fast and is no longer working. Then why continue treating the lawn....and charging for that? They were immediately fired after that. What a TOTAL waste!!!

We have had Trugreen for years and it was working pretty well. Our technician was Fabio and he always left notes with the status of the lawn, and if there were problems, he would recommend what to do. However, the past year We have had a different technician and it is not working out at all. We started seen a couple of yellow patches of grass in the lawn in the summer that now are covering the whole front yard (about 10 patches ). We never got any information about what those patches are and how to fix them. I have called the office Multiple times. The first time they said that they would send somebody within 48 hours. Two week later I called back and they told me that the technician had looked at the yard but they did not know what the report was and they would send me the report within a week. When I got the report, it just said that the technician had been there but she did not write anything at all (I was there. Thank you for your business). When I call again, they told me that the technician would immediately call me to my cell to explain the problem and they would send a full report. She never called me cell, a few days later she left a message in my home phone but did not provide any information. I have never received the full report. At this point I am ready to change companies.
