The Master's Lawn & Pest in Gainesville

Called their office early in April (5 months ago), explaining in detail what kind of problems we were having and what needs to be done. It took 2.5 months to finally get the estimate. That was just the beginning. First, the crew showed up to do the work, but left in 10-15 minutes without doing anything. Had to call the office and have them come back. When they showed up, they were unaware what they were supposed to work on and said the office did not communicate with them clearly the details of the job. After the visit, our problems with gutter overflow did not get resolved, even though I gave it a couple of weeks to make sure. Called the office back and they said they would to Quality check visit, for which later they claimed I would need to pay (which is outrageous. After I spoke to the landscaping manager, he came himself but again, did not address the concern. Then spoke to the office manager, still no resolution. Excuses and excuses that made no sense as this same company just 2 years ago was able to do the exact same job. Not sure if they had change in management or else, but if you value your time and money, do not contract them, find someone else in the area. And from the recent reviews I can see I am not the only one upset with them UPDATE: Spoke to the owner who was able to get to the bottom of what has happened and address my concerns. Though the problem is not fully resolved, at least I know he tried to help the best way he could within the scope of what his company is able to do. Communicated about some other jobs later on and always got a prompt and comprehensive response.

Herbert and Davie did such a fabulous job in our backyard, removing overgrown banana trees, leveling and mulching. They were fast, respectful and my backyard looks so wonderful! Andrew who came out to quote us was also super quick with his estimate and the office communication has been superb. Couldn t recommend Masters enough.

They did a great job refreshing our flower beds for the new year. The team of Herbert, Davie, and Kelvin were hard workers and answered all of my questions.

I switched my yard care to The Masters Lawn Care in the summer of 2020. The previous service was not showing up and the turf had degraded to sand in many areas. The Masters is consistent. They call ahead to notify me of my service day or if there are unforeseen delays. The hedges are always trimmed, yard waste is taken away, all trimmings are blown off and cleaned up off of sidewalks and the driveway. And the yard is always cut to the correct height (not scalped or uneven) and edged neatly. The weed and feed has also been a great service. Herbert has been addressing the sandy spots and the turf is now sturdy and thick! Herbert and the rest of the crew have been excellent! 1/6/2023 - Herbert continues to be excellent! The lawn crew occasionally forgets to close the fence gates. We have dogs so I need to go behind them to check. Please update your app so that your crew knows! Thanks! 3/31/2023 - I had the edges of the landscaping beds reestablished and 20 yards of pine bark mulch put down. The work was completed by Timothy and Joe. They both worked very hard and were detailed oriented, thorough and the end result looks fantastic. Thank you! 1/15/2025 - Herbert and David trimmed our hedges, trees and dead shrubs, then removed the old mulch from the beds and layed down 20 yards of pine bark mulch today. The beds were all re-edged and look fantastic! I highly recommend them!

We had an irrigation malfunction. Master s Lawn care sent TJ and Brandon out to fix the issue. They both are easy to talk with and they both were courteous. TJ and Brandon did a great job. They discovered the problem and they were able to fix the issue. Kudos to TJ and Brandon.

TJ did my biannual irrigation inspection. When checking the zones, one didn t respond. A bad connection was found in the valve box and he re-did all four. Rechecked all zones and everything is working properly.

TJ came today to do our sprinkler service. He did an incredible job. Found several problems and fixed them right away. I can t say enough about his professionalism and the work that he did. Way to go TJ!

We bought our house for the gardens that were already established on the property. We had used other yard services in the past that just did not do what was expected or asked to do. We had our first visit from The Masters Lawn Care, Team 6, consisting of Leroy, Aaron and Keanan on Thursday, 9/14/23. They arrived very early (before 8) and started working on the yard right away. My wife is the garden/yard expert, and she went out and talked with the crew (probably overwhelming them) about what she would like to have done. Leroy stated that the yard would look better after each visit. My wife was extremely pleased with the crew. We are hoping that they will continue to do the great work that they did this past time. Our garden area all around the house had an irrigation system already installed when we bought the house. There was an area in our screened in back patio area that my wife planted flowers in and put in a fountain. This area did not have a sprinkler head. We contacted Masters and they sent Nate out and he installed the irrigation for that area and also took out some dead plants. My wife was very impressed that Nate knew what the plants were and that he did such a good job in the installation.

You guys ruined my Crape Myrtle. I told your lawn guys not to touch them on many occasions. Absolutely disgusting. That crape is 15-20 years old and you idiots pruned it like a 5 year old ruining it forever. Ridiculous. This is the wrong way to prune a crape no matter what book you read. Only a child would think it is the correct way to prune a crape. What a joke. Edit; fertilizer doesnt fix poor pruning. I have been trying to get ahold of someone in your office for a week and nobody picks up or returns my calls.

The guys and gals at Masters Lawn Care did a fantastic job on our landscape refresh. We had a little delay to get the project started initially, but it ended up working out (been tough with all the stormy weather). I want to express my thanks to Team 9 with Masters. They were on-site first thing Friday morning after Hurricane Helene. This was unexpected so soon after the storm. They had parking lots, sidewalks and gardens taken care of. You would not know we had a storm. Thank you Guys!!

Beware: my HOA has been contracted with them to manage our front lawns and we have the option to pay extra for them to maintain the sides and back yards. Because they know they have a locked in contract with our builder, they really couldn t care less about our lawns and the damage that they cause. I have reached out to their company to ask questions and express concerns. Got a very vague response with no answers to my questions about what my agreement says they provide. Since no full response, I was hoping maybe my lawn would look better but it s only getting worse. So bad that my HOA who picked this company sent me a notice about my weeds. In my invoice it specifically says that I pay for weed control. Found in my invoice which states what they are *supposed* to be providing, and I can confidently say aside from someone using the riding mower on my lawn (super horribly - sometimes my front lawn is even, sometimes they miss riding over big patches and areas so it s 1/2 cut and 1/2 uncut) they do not do any of these duties on my front, side or back lawn but I have been paying them for years and months! 43V Landscape Maintenance $59.00 LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE PROGRAM 43 visits per year (Weekly Service Mar-Oct / Bi-weekly service Nov-Feb) The monthly price includes full-service maintenance of your lawn and landscape. Mowing, trimming, weed control, hard and soft edging, shrub trimming, bed definition, plant pruning, leaf control, blowing hard surfaces, and other detail maintenance to keep your landscape attractive. ***they do not fulfill their promises or services. This sounds so great in writing but the grass and weeds are out of control, my flower beds are ruined and they broke one of my sprinklers *** It s very sad to think this company does such bad business so poorly. Perhaps this review will get me a proper response and some action taken on my lawn, but based on the past experiences I sincerely doubt it. Please use anyone else but this company. Save your money and find a company that cares and is hard working and actually stands by their word and agreements, because this company does not. I cannot continue to keep making excuses for them as they keep collecting my money and ruining my lawn and costing me HOA fines

A little over a year ago my sprinkler system died and completely destroyed the grass in my backyard. I got multiple estimates from different companies and everyone besides The Masters Lawn told me it needed to be completely resodded. Master s disagreed and had a full plan to restore the lush, green grass I once had. It took a full year of attention but the results are worth every bit of the effort and saved me thousands. Thank you Chuck, Joe, and Anthony for your expertise and follow through.

Signed up with them about a year and a half two years ago while they cut the line and clean up for the most part just fine. Their lawn spray service absolutely stinks. Haven t had so many weeds ever. Guys come in and edge with the weed eater killing the grass near the edge. They leave big clumps of grass when they cut which creates pockets of dead grass our lawn looks the worst it s ever looked in years. I ve had the manager out twice you get yes yes a lot of lip service. I m still waiting for the action. I ll change my review if my Lawn comes back to life, but until then, this has been our experience.

All week while on vacation I watched on my security camera and listened as 3-guys (Cordero, Lawrence & D Shawn)laid sod in my neighbors entire yard. I was so impressed with how hard they worked. How they treated the sod as a puzzle and made sure each piece fit perfectly. Their language was always respectful and their work ethics were top notch. They blew off my front porch which they did not have too. Shook my rugs & chair pillows and made sure if any top soil had flew onto my porch it was blown off. I give this company and these 3-guys a 10+ and highly recommend The Masters Lawn Care in Gainesville. These 3 need to be recognized for an outstanding job in representing this company.

Very hard to get in touch with. Have not returned phone call. Have left message no return call after three days. Stuck on a never ending automated switch board. Hard to talk to real person. The first application did a good job but no follow up for insect control. So far customers service has been disappointing. A lot of rain so I know that makes scheduling hard but I never get an answer as to when they will show back up. Would like to update my review. Rusty got in touch with me as soon as he realized the communication loop was not working. He listened, developed a course of action and executed the plan. After execution of plan he followed up to make sure i was satisfied. We are definitely back on solid footing. Thanks Rusty Gary.

The 2 men that come to do my yard are great. They do an excellent job. I wish I knew their names, but they are polite, efficient, and Im happy with their work.

Masters continues providing poor lawn maintenance , today after not showing last week , they came with their larger mower ((previously agreed not to ) and shaved the lawn to no beginning , they have also not trimmed bushes or done any weeding . Not a way to go

Rusty came out to assess the flooding issue on my property. He was very thorough, knowledgeable, and courteous!! My highest praise for this drainage expert and his company!!

Masters was paid to partially landscape an area of our yard. The plants were stressed when they arrived and went down from there. The operations manager sent an ornamental team out and they were surprised to learn the plants had been planted 6 days ago. Someone else was sent a few days later who agreed the plants looked bad. After more discussion with the operations manager the salesman came out and told me the plants were not healthy when planted and the job should be redone. The operations manager continues to drag this out and states the plants will bounce back. Ive had to iniate contact each time. The work was done on August 8th and still no resolution. Never again. Update: Yomi from Masters brought new plants to replace the original ones. Yomi went above and beyond to make everything right. The plants are thriving now. Thank you Yomi and Masters for the resolution.

Masters has come out to service our yard for a big one time clean-up , as well as tend to our irrigation needs. I appreciate the work and services they have provided and feel the need to single out one AWESOME member of their team: Anthony Johnson. Any concerns, questions or needs I have had were/are immediately addressed by him. Since Day One he has been so timely with his responses, communicative, helpful, and knowledgeable, which puts me at ease and makes us feel properly taken care of. In todays world, I appreciate these traits all the more.

I am sharing a note of gratitude and appreciation to The Master s Lawn Care for work on a complicated landscape drainage issue that eluded multiple consultants until Clayton came up with a plan and made arrangements for work to begin. I only have the highest praise for DShawn and Byrd who did the installation, and for Yomi who oversaw the project. DShawn and Byrd were polite, hard working, attentive to detail and careful in their efforts and put out a tremendous effort in the brutal mid-summer heat. They did a phenomenal job including tackling an unexpected issue resulting from a prior contractors oversight that they found while doing the installation. They left the site spotless, and just did great work. And I write this note as the rains from Hurricane Debby are just beginning, and so far it seems like my flooding problem which always used to happen in these types of conditions has been resolved, though the true test may come when the heaviest rains hit. I could not be happier. Thank you very much.

Just had a great experience with a full yard cleanup by Herbert, Tim, and Jesse from Masters Lawn. The guys worked all day to trim and cut back our overgrown hedges, bushes and trees. They weeded and raked leaves, replaced old mulch and edged beds that had overgrown our pavers, and left the beds looking separate from the grass. The whole yard looks so much better, and they were a pleasure to work with! Highly recommend to anyone who wants a hard-working, super polite crew!

My wife and I needed our viburnums and ligustrums pruned so Team #16 (Tremaine and Gabe) were sent over to our house to do the trimming. Both of them are hard workers and were very patient and understanding of the exact heights and shapes of our shrubs. We were very pleased and impressed with their work ethic and hopefully can have the same team come back next time our shrubs need pruning. Thanks for a job well done!

Here are my thoughts after our discussion: - improvements will be made with regard to landscape crew-client communication - respect for client property will be emphasized - continued crew education will be implemented with respect to lawncare health We have been with Rusty for a very long time, almost from the start of his business. He is that rare individual you meet who is truly good and caring. I expect the points above will be quickly implemented. UPDATED 2024: 1 star * We love Rusty. However, I think with expansion, customer service has suffered as well as continuity of care with crews for residential service. I really dislike having to meet and teach the ever rotating crews assigned to my house. Crews were not properly trained on how to maintain flowerbeds. I would consistently find leaves and other debris blown up and piled at the base of my shrubs and flowers. This promotes root rot and ultimately death. All flowers and shrubs that died because of this were replaced on my dime. Flowers and shrubs would be trimmed at inappropriate times, causing some to struggle or even die. The crewmembers were not careful with our property. We would find portions of our fence gate broken due to mower accidents. Crews would not monitor exhaust from mowers so that some of our flowers and shrubs would be burned. Little to no weed control was provided in the flowerbeds (which was a condition of our service agreement). Furthermore, it gets hot here in Florida. For years now, I would provide crewmembers with Gatorade or some form of drink, sometimes snacks. It really got my goat when a few months ago I went out to look at my front lawn and found empty bottles of Gatorade littered in my flowerbeds, it s shameful. Sadly, I am no longer a customer of Master s Lawncare. OLD Post: 5 stars***** We have used Rusty and his company for at least half a decade now and are still quite pleased with his service. One of the best aspects of this company is that they care about their work. I got a message from Rusty the other day expressing his concern over my lawn. He had been driving by and it appeared sickly to him and he suggested how best to address it. We promptly did as suggested and it has recovered - where it might have died in the meantime. We are happy to have him taking care of our lawn and landscaping and would gladly recommend him.

This company is amazing. Very friendly and has great customer service. We had a gentleman, Herbert, come out and aerate and dressing our yard. It had rained earlier in the day and everyone else had gone home but Herbert came out and spread topsoil by hand! Due to circumstances we had to have this done soon and Herbert came through! We needed some declining plants replaced and edging installed to replace our old landscape timbers. Based on our excellent experience with Masters in the past, we requested a proposal. Clayton responded quickly, listened to our ideas, made suggestions, and created a proposal that met our needs and budget. He was knowledgeable, personable,and a pleasure to work with throughout the process. The work was done by the amazing dream team of Ty and Theo. They were hard-working, courteous, attentive to detail, and very professional. They went over and above to make sure we were satisfied with the completed job. We just used these folks to completely redo our Landscaping. The entire job from getting our bid to scheduling went perfect. Joe and Eric (Crew LS4) were very professional, worked extremely hard, and did an outstanding job...We would definitely use them again..

I have used The Master s Lawn service three different. I have always been very satisfied with the all three jobs. Clayton Salome is great with planning a design and today Joe and Eric did a great job on a planting and paver project. They do great work and I will use them again.

Weve been using The Masters Lawn Care for the past several years. Yesterday, Herbert stopped by our house to check on how things are going with our lawn service. I told him I was pleased, and he asked if there were any areas of our yard that needed extra attention. We walked the yard together and we discussed 4-5 areas. He took pictures with his iPad and told me hed submit a work order to get them taken care of. The next morning, Sanchez and two other crew members showed up at 7:45am and got to work. Sanchez and I reviewed the areas on the work order before they got started and they did a great job executing. He also checked in with me before they left and let me know theyd have to come back another time to finish the last part of the work order. The Masters Lawn Care team takes great care of our yard!

It is well known that The Masters does excellent work with all forms of lawn care service. But, I would like to touch more on their outstanding customer service. Recently my wife and I had most of our old irrigation system replaced and expanded. Their crews came out and were very friendly to speak with and accomplished everything we asked for. Unfortunately, there were a few parts of the system that began malfunctioning or not quite working how we wanted it to. When we reached back out to The Masters, they had someone back out first thing the next day to try and fix the issues. It took a few extra appointments to get everything working just right, but they stuck by us every step of the way. A massive shoutout to Chuck Baldwin who really stepped up with his crew and came back again and again to make sure our system was perfect. He always maintained great communication with us to keep our minds at ease and let us know that everything would be taken care of. Sometimes things dont go perfectly the first time, and thats ok, it happens. But The Masters commitment to making their customers happy was truly incredible, and holds them high above all the other lawn care companies. I will gladly recommend them to others and would be happy to have them back out for any other projects we may have in the future!

Will and Kevin are great! We hired Masters Lawn Care to put in a long drain line with two catch basins that tied into our gutters - a pretty decent sized job! The initial install had several problems that were not fully corrected until Will and Kevin arrived. Will and Kevin showed up and corrected everything! They are extremely professional and detail oriented with great attitudes and a real focus on customer satisfaction. Will and Kevin saved the day and are awesome guys! I am happy to recommend Masters Lawn Care.

They ve designed and installed sod and maintain the grass on an ongoing basis with periodic fertilizing and weed/pest control. Also have fixed a sprinkler head that was broken. Our service tech Herbert is customer focused and excellent.

Andrew consulted with me in January regarding my recent IFAS soil reports detailing problems affecting my grass in my backyard. He was thorough in describing what steps I would need to take to correct a problem that is pervasive. He listened to my questions and answered them. He was knowledgeable and helpful in offering suggestions to how we might remedy or modify this area, which we are considering going forward. After our discussion, I pointed out a sprinkler head that wasnt functioning properly (this request was not on his original work order.) He offered to check what might be the problem, dug around the sprinkler head and took it apart and determined the gears were stripped and then totally surprised me when he replaced it for me without me having to make a second appointment. I am grateful for his extra effort, even though it wasnt on his work order! He said he was at the end of his workday and I was his last call; it would be no problem. I was impressed by this young mans kindness and work ethic. He didnt have to do what he offered to do but he saw a problem and took care of it. He is a great asset to the Masters Lawn Care team.

Clayton Salome came out to our property and provided us with quotes to add mulch to our front and back garden, setup a monthly lawn maintenance and health plan (including regular servicing of our irrigation system), and aerate our lawn and add topdressing to return it to its former glory. Clayton is the ultimate professional and could not have been more helpful if he tried! I accepted Claytons proposals on Thursday and by Friday the Masters Lawn Care had scheduled Timothy and Joe to come out and add a fresh layer of mulch to our yard and remove some pavers to make room for a new azalea which they planted for us. Timothy and Joe came out on the following Monday to get started - just 3 business days after the initial quote from Clayton! They arrived on-time and completed all work to a very high standard! Both Timothy and Joe are very friendly and hardworking. The next day, David James and his team came out to prune some of our shrubs and mow our lawn. David is a very friendly individual who went out of his way to ensure our needs were being met. If you need landscaping help in the Gainesville area, go with the Masters!

I spoke with Lynn about fixing some damage that one of our delivery semi trucks did to our neighbors lawn, she was AWESOME! Friendly, professional, quick to email me with a response. Timothy and Joe from Masters landscaping team L2 came this morning to clear out old landscaping, plant 30 new plants, and add mulch. They were super professional, knowledgeable, and thorough. They checked with me before, during, and after they did the work to be sure I was happy with the new landscaping. I am very pleased with the work they did and recommend them to others wanted to install or update their landscaping.

Master Lawn care is expensive but worth the money because of people like Josh, who cares about not only doing the job right and efficiently but is a very positive face of the company in representing the firm.

I was so impressed with Marlin and Gary when, this morning, they removed two 24-year-old, 20-inch diameter Crape Myrtle trees close to my electrical transformer. The wood was extremely hard so it took a long time and a lot of strength and power to take them down, even with chainsaws, but they kept at it until the trees were gone. They kept a very neat job site, cleanup was perfect, and they were very professional and cheerful even though it was such unbelievably hard work. After they left, I looked up Crape Myrtle hardness and it turns out Crape Myrtle is even harder than Mahogany. I have always been very satisfied with The Masters Lawn Care services, but Gary and Marlin deserve special recognition because they would not give up even though the work looked to be impossible to do -- they just powered through with their saws until the work was done. A big thank you to Marlin and Gary, two outstanding members of The Masters Lawn Care team!

I recently had Masters Lawn Care provide information on how to resolve a drainage problem on my property. I was very pleased with the employees from Masters beginning with the input from Jared who provided excellent advice, and quickly sent a proposal , including pictures and diagrams of my property showing exactly where the work would be done. The office crew sent a proposal and contract for my review and were very knowledgeable and helpful answering my questions. Finally, Travis and Adam arrived on time and did a great job in planting the sod and providing helpful information regarding caring for the new sod. A very professional company who I am happy to recommend.

The Masters team under Shavarus has done a great job taking care of my lawn. Our lawn looks great. They are professional, communicate any issues, suggest improvements, do all we ask and do not do what we have asked them not to do. The pets love the team and so do we.

The whole experience working with this business has been excellent. Clayton designed the landscaping we needed, a hedge and some replacement azaleas. Then Timothy (foremen) and Joe (helper pare excellence) did the installation. They worked so hard until the job was done, and it was a very full days work. I have become an involuntary landlord with all of the housing and interest rate circumstances of late. I live quite a long drive away from my property so Ive entrusted care to several different agencies, including Masters for the lawn care. I was pleasantly surprised to get an email from Eric to report that he noted some need for extra maintenance on his last trip - which he had taken care of and was just keeping me in the loop. I had new sod put down and found out I needed to get pest control within the first week. I called a few companies and Masters said they could take care of it for me. I accepted their proposal, but then found out that they couldnt get out for almost 2 weeks. I called back and was talking with a very argumentative female who kept telling me it was my fault for not calling sooner, I admitted that I was unaware that I needed this service so quickly, but reminded her that she told me Masters could accommodate. She kept repeating back to me that I should have called earlier, I said dont tell me what I already know, I just need to know if you can accommodate. She then accused me of being ugly and unprofessional. I did not use any inappropriate language or raise my voice. I simply wanted to know if they can or cannot accommodate my needs, just be honest and tell me. She finally put me on hold while she found a manager and finally got back on the phone and said someone would call me back. A few minutes later, someone called me back and assured me they could not get out any sooner. So I cancelled my proposal. Bottom line, dont promise what you cant deliver. The rude woman I spoke to tried defending herself by telling me she said usually within a week. I dont care what she thinks she said, if you cant do what the customer needs, simply say so from the beginning. I would have went somewhere else (which I did and have someone scheduled for the next day). They made a promise that they knew they couldnt keep simply to try and secure a client.

THANK YOU ERIC!! Eric detected termites during a routine pest control inspection. We were able to start termite treatment through Masters quickly before any damage occurred. We had no idea!!! Thank you Masters (and thanks again Eric) for the quick identification and treatment.

07/11/23 Timothy and Ty worked hard to cut out the Bermuda grass in my front yard and replace it with St. Augustine grass. They did a great job. I did have to ask them to pull up an additional area of Bermuda grass that they said wasn t included in the original area marked to be replaced, but they agreed with what I was asking and cut out the rest of the Bermuda grass without a problem. It looks great, so much better than before with mixed grasses in my front yard. They were getting ready to take about 1/3 of a palate of new grass with them when they left. I asked them if I had paid for that. They said yes so I asked them to leave it. My son lives down the street, and had a few spots that could use the grass so I gave it to them. I wish I had been told I had paid for the remaining grass without me having to ask. I would have taken it even if my son didn t need it, and given it to neighbors who might have needed it. It seemed a little deceitful to take the grass without letting me know it was technically mine. I paid enough for this project without them making more money on it by taking the 1/3 pallet of grass I d paid for without saying anything to me. I don t blame Timothy and Ty for this issue, as I believe they were following protocol. Timothy and Ty were kind, respectful and professional. It was a pleasure working with them. 06/20/23 D Shaun and Joe did a wonderful job updating my flowerbeds. They removed 4 rose bushes and a jasmine bush and replaced them with azaleas and gardenias. They were very professional, knowledgeable, and wanted to make sure the job was done to my satisfaction. Specific directions for care of my newly planted plants were provided in writing. Erik Curran, the Construction Coordinator, emailed me this morning while D Shaun and Joe were here to ensure everything was going smoothly. They may not offer the best price, but their price is competitive. They did a great job in a very reasonable amount of time. I am very happy with the work that was done!

The weeds, overgrowth, abundance of ferns and need for TLC was in the professional care of this team. It was important that I be present so John made sure I knew the day this would occur. Individually everyone who works here is incredibly helpful, professional, and pleasant. None of the departments seem to communicate with each other however and it causes issues. Poor systems & procedures. Too big to care about the details. Great for a Mow & go type of scenario.

I was on the schedule for a yard clean up for over a month and had paid in full in two installments well in advance. The morning the work was to be done I received an email that the work would have to be rescheduled due to unforseen circumstances. An hour later I received a call that the job was cancelled; my yard was out of their service area. The caller would not discuss the issue. Id been on the schedule for over a month. I was invoiced and paid in advance. My address had been specially approved. Having received mixed messages - I was out of the service area AND I had been cancelled, I wanted clarification. In a phone call I was informed that the work was indeed cancelled, and it was a business decision. They decided their bid was too low. Their work may be excellent; their professionalism is not. I am deeply disappointed. I am giving two stars, instead of one, only because my money was refunded promptly.

My condo association has a contract with them to care for the grounds and usually they do good work. I think one of my neighbors complained about debris piles being left around a courtyard because they came back at 7am and ran leaf blowers for a good 45 minutes while they walked around picking up palm fronds. While its annoying to have to go back to a place more than once, its incredibly rude to try to get revenge on people for complaining about a job not being done properly. Im really disappointed at the lack of professionalism.

Kyle from Masters just aerated my lawn and spread Command topsoil to it last week. Kyle told me about the benefits of the process when he was treating my neighbors yard and I was convinced it would be right for mine. He is hard-working, courteous and did a great job. I understand this Command is like turbo dirt and it covered every inch of my lawn so I m really looking forward to the results over the next few weeks!

My family are native Floridians and have had many lawn care service providers over the years but since moving to Gainesville, FL, I have found Masters Lawn Care to be the best and outstanding in every way. I especially want to recognize Chris as he has been attentive, professional and hard working. He walked through our lawn with us and answered every question we had in how to best keep our turf and plants healthy and beautiful. With Masters, it seems that we actually have a partnership with professionals who willingly share their expertise and seem to enjoy what they do!

Our family moved here in January 2023. We purchased a new home. The builders landscaping and sod that they laid left a lot to be desired. The grass didnt take and where they put the additional fence, they left the shrubs. It was directly in front of the gate, making that area unusable. The Masters Lawn Care was recommended to us. I called them, and Clayton came out and spoke with us about what we wanted to do. We had a sprinkler system installed, new landscaping and they laid new sod. The proper way. The crew who took up all the dead sod and replaced the new sod and plants did a great job. We are very happy with how our lawn looks now. The plants they suggested are so pretty. We also use their lawn care service. They do a wonderful job with the upkeep of our lawn and plants. Thank you to everyone who worked to make our lawn beautiful.

Can you stand one more compliment? It was a pleasure to meet our assigned Disease Management Technician last week. He arrived as scheduled, which is greatly appreciated. Chris did a thorough walk through before treating the yard and met our dogs. He instructed us to close the doggie door for a couple of hours (for the safety of the dogs) and took care of business tackling the weeds and disease on the property. The Masters Lawn Care takes care of my mowing and lawn health. I recently had a concern about issues I noticed with my lawn and when I talked to Terry (Lawn Health Department) he assured me that someone would look into it and told me to call anytime, that it was never a bother.

Google will not let me leave another review, but today, February 23, 2022, Fred and Luis completed another perfect yard clean up of a years worth of leaves in our 2 acre yard. The ground up the leaves, mowed frozen ferns, and made sure that I was happy with their work. I am!! Our yard and beds look amazing!!! We live on a couple of wooded acres. We are constantly battling leaves and weeds in large parts of our yard. In addition to the leaves and weeds this year, we had lots of dead foliage from the freezes. Horace, Willie, and Xavier were the team that cleaned up very large beds in our front yard. They did an amazing job! Went above and beyond in removing leaves, frozen vegetation. I am planning on getting them back to do more clean up for us!

D Shaun and Brandon installed a rain water drainage system in our yard today. This drainage system was designed to prevent our pool patio and adjacent yard from flooding during rain storms. This has got to be the most honest company I have ever come into contact with. I request a lawn care quote and they came out to look. The mans name was Morgan. He told me that I have a certain kind of grass (I think he said Bahai) that doesnt really need any weed control and that as long as you keep it watered sufficiently and keep it cut to about three inches, that is enough to control them. So basically he turned down a possible job which I didnt really need. Honesty is very hard to come by now a days, especially if money or power is concerned (see Republican party). So if you need lawn service, this company (Master Lawn Care) is the one to go with.

Their landscape lighting department was fantastic! They gave us three excellent proposals and even put up temporary lights so we could see what the designs would look like, make notes, and adjust our design. They listened well to what we wanted in our lighting design and incorporated our desires into each design. I had an excellent experience with Chuck Baldwin, Bri Thomas, Chase McNeal, and Clayton Salome. I highly recommend any member of this team - all we re knowledgeable, detail-oriented, and communicated well. The quality of the lights were also excellent! After seeing the proposals we were able to make adjustments and finalize our plan. I am excited for the final install and know they will continue to be professional and attentive to us.

Ranned into a Masters Lawn Care employee in lake city a few days ago and he was just as kind and friendly as a human being can be. I witness him go beyond and above for an elderly couple who couldnt afford somethings at check out and without hesitation he paid for everything. The price was better than I was getting from other companies, and they do more than I had expected. I have the basic lawn care and maintenance, and I was expecting just my yard to be mowed. But they also will pick up fallen branches, and some other minor yard upkeep, even with basic. The nice thing is, I dont have to think about it. They are in on time, do a good and quick job, and gone without me having to worry about anything.

As patrons of The Masters Lawn Care (TMLC) for over two years, we are extremely pleased with the quality of work, responsiveness, and timeliness of work performed, regardless of the task. Our regularly-scheduled jobs include general lawn maintenance, including fertilization and weed control, though we contracted TMLC most recently to perform a medium (plus?) scale landscaping project (two to three days of work) that included management of our irrigation system, install of numerous small plants and trees, as well as mulching, including site clean-up, of course. The end result is amazing, and a huge Thank you! to Chuck for assisting with the design as well as to the two teams (sorry guys, I cannot remember your names!) who performed the irrigation system and landscape work. The end result is night-and-day, and we cannot wait to spend more time in our yard enjoying our patio with the beautiful new backdrop of color and privacy.

We were accustomed to using Gillespies for our Sprinkler system and were very disappointed Ted to discover that they had merged. However, Johnson was the one who came out to do the service on our irrigation system and we are very pleased. He was timely, courteous and did an amazing job of getting our sprinklers reset so that the entire lawn and flower beds receive appropriate watering. Thank you! Since I utilize Masters lawn care service, a simple email seeking advice was met with a service call set up and everything was taken care of in one visit. Scheduled an estimate and they couldn t come out for 3 weeks. Ok, busy company, staff is hard to find right now, I m patient. Still made the appointment. Sadly, no one shows up. Called them an hour after my appointment time and they tell me they had my appointment scheduled, but forgot to assign it to someone. Receptionist was apologetic, but then said they can t have someone come out for another FIVE days! Really?! After I waited 3 weeks? I understand that mistakes happen, but I was disappointed that I wasn t prioritized after their error. This experience definitely made me question their management and their ability to provide quality services. I moved on. UPDATE: After my review (above), Company CEO called and apologized and more importantly took responsibility. He did NOT ask me to change my review and understood if it went unchanged. He made a personal visit to my house the next day and apologized again. We discussed the complexities of my storm drainage issue in my yard and he provided me with a fair quote and alternatives. I felt he did everything he could to make things right.

Team 13 with lead Willie and team members Fred and Norman performed clean up on our property prior to routine maintenance. My wife and I have never had a more professional and responsive team performing yardwork since we have been in Gainesville since 1979. That s 42 years. They were incredible. My wife would like to tell you that this team was respectful, on time, great attitude and listened to everything she had to say. In my opinion, Willie, Fred and Norman were exceptional. They were on time, considerate, professional, responsive, and kept telling me that they were glad that my wife and I had joined the team with Masters lawn care. They all spoke very highly of Masters Lawn Care and I thought this was extremely professional. One of the other things that meant a lot to me was the fact that each team member knew exactly what to do and that they would instruct the maintenance team what they had done and what needed to be done by the maintenance team. Apparently this would not only be performed verbally but in a written form as well. This whole process started with Anthony Johnson. Anthony started the process and was very responsive to me and my wife about what we wanted to have done. He gave us excellent suggestions and he was always responsive to us and what we wanted. Update (2022-07-28): Recently weve been having issues with our lawn. After making a call with Masters we had a tech come out. Herbert was here today and did a wonderful job addressing my concerns. We walked through the yard and he listened very well to some complaints. He was able to explain in detail the steps to improve the quality of our lawn and how Masters was going to do that. I was very pleased with his professionalism and his ability to listen to my concerns. I am still a very happy customer of Masters and recommend them! Original: I was very impressed! After I requested an estimate Rusty made an appointment and came out to my house. He was prompt, very knowledgeable, and most of all helpful. After answering all my questions he suggested several other ideas that I hadnt thought to consider. Rusty presented these options not as an up-sell, but as things I should consider. In some ways he helped me spend less than I thought I needed to as he was able to understand what I wanted to accomplish and tailor the project around my concerns. During the consultation Rusty took pictures of all the areas we wanted to improve. He took plenty of notes. Within a couple of days we had a customized proposal for our project. His price came in as the best. The quote came with pictures of our house and the areas we talked about in the consultation. These pictures showed where improvements and changes were going to be made. I was impressed with the details. The whole process of removing the sod and making our changes was very painless. Over the course of two weeks we had several applications of herbicide to remove the old grass and weeds. The gentleman who did this was very friendly and made sure to coverall the areas with weeds even though he admitted it wasnt specified in the work order. When the sod and mulch was delivered the two gentleman that installed it were very nice and very professional. They made sure to answer all my questions about how to handle the yard. They even did some complementary trimming. They also made sure that all the sprinklers were working so the grass would be watered correctly. Im very happy with The Masters Lawn Care. I highly recommend you give Rusty and the rest of the crew at The Masters Lawn Care a call for your next project!

Really liked Zak Ford because he listened well to all my concerns as well as did good job of replacing 4 large rotor heads and a long spray head. Next visit he quickly installed a new backflow preventer and consulted with experts about yellow leaves on our agapanthus.

This post is a shout out for Horace and Cody from Master s who have been taking care of my lawn and landscaping for the last 3 months while my wife and I were out of town. Their work has been superb, and we couldn t be more pleased with the appearance of our yard. Their initiative and attention to detail is commendable. We are very happy with their work and hope they will remain as our lawn care team.

They sent out team #13 to do a yard clean up and they were good. They did what we had asked them to do and made sure they had completed our requests (which they already had) by having us walk the yard with us before they left. They were friendly and we are pleased all of the way around with them.

The Masters Lawn Care team has been great to work. The last time time a service technician was out at our house he gave me his phone number and said text if you have issues or question. This morning I texted Kyle with a question. Within minutes he texted back with an answer. Without asking he setup a follow up visit to help deal with a lawn issue. Been using MLC for a few years, they always do a fantastic job both on the lawn itself and on communicating with us. Carlos, the team lead for the group that comes to our house, is courteous, professional and thorough. I initially only planned to have yard maintenance done for a few months while we settled in, but theyve done such a stellar job Ive stuck with them for 3+ years now.

Rama and Team 9 take care of our neighborhood called Hammock in Gainesville, FL. We have 13 islands of plants, our front entrance and landscaping on a corner. They do a beautiful job weeding, controlling plants that are taking over, keeping the streets clear of leaves and debris and trimming back plants. They are so accommodating when you ask them to do certain things. We pride our neighborhood on being a tropical paradise. We are currently negotiating with them to do some irrigation and install plants in areas that need it. We are so happy with what they have done in the last few years.

DShaun, KBO and AJ came to our house and filled in all of our ruts that were caused by the moles that have entered our yard. Now our yard is a lot more level and not so bumpy. They also put new mulch on all areas of landscaping and edged everything so that the grass wont grow into our flower beds. They did a great job, looks wonderful. They even gave us a suggestion on how to get rid of our moles. Thanks again guys.

We have been with Masters Lawn Care for several months now after canceling our previous lawn care provider. Carlos and his team have been wonderful to work with! They always explain their plans and why they are or aren t doing something (example: not trimming our azaleas because it s the wrong time of year). I truly feel like they understand plant cycles and how to make sure they thrive. They have come into our yard and taken care of things I d been asking the previous company to do for months. Carlos takes pride in his work and makes sure our lawn looks it s very best!

Straight up irrigation emergency.. 6 busted sprinkler lines and the system would not shut off without killing water to the house. Rozin was great...came out urgently, 2 hrs earlier than expected, dug around the yard a bit and found the issue on an old system he had not seen before. Great work.

Recently Masters Lawn repaired and inspected the irrigation system at my home. Zachariah repaired some damage to pipes that were a result of electrical work. He was so efficient and friendly. He was working late because another job took longer than expected but he came anyway and completed the work. He did a very professional and thorough job and he did it with a smile. Kevin did an annual inspection of the irrigation system. He was also very professional and did a thorough inspection. He was friendly and knowledgeable. He took the time to educate me about some irrigation issues. I think the company is very fortunate to employ both of these men.

Herbert also catches and treats the issues we miss. THX Herbert!! We moved to Gainesville at the end of July of 2020. Our home is great, but the grass was not well taken care of and was mostly weeds. I called Masters lawn care on a recommendation. They came out and said the grass is bad, in fact, not much grass was left. This is a very nice area an all the other lawns are beautiful. But Masters said lets see what we can do. The application technicians were very helpful and explained a lot of things. They asked me to keep it mowed every week for better results, and I did that. Within 6 months, the grass was back and looking better every day! These guys know their lawn chemistry!! Had some miscommunication issues but those were quickly resolved with a phone call!!

Jhonson was just here today to diagnose and treat a problem with our irrigation system. He was extremely courteous, professional, and efficient. He correctly diagnosed and fixed our problem so that we are back up and running again. He also spent some time educating me on our Node controller. Could not be more pleased!

Landscape #2 - Devon and Joe We highly recommend Master s Lawn Care for excellent work, friendly staff, and clearly explaining the job process. We contacted several companies to install a 3 ft high, 150 ft long underground bamboo shield to prevent the neighbor s bamboo encroaching into our property and endangering our septic tank s drain field. Only Master s was willing to bid on this unusual project and presented us with a reasonable bid. It was tough going because of the extensive root system from our many oak trees, but Devon and Joe stayed focused on completing the job to our satisfaction. Flowers cut back looked like they were butchered & reflected inexperience & know-how. Grass looked chopped up. But today, a friendly face appeared: Shivarus of Team 3, along w/Demetrius, a new gentleman. What a relief I felt when Shivarus said he would be back with a hard-working Demetrius as Team 3. I will miss Cody, who was so wonderful, but Shivarus is wonderful, too. He even remembers my particular requests & needs!!!!!! So it seems Masters has made some corrections in directions. I will continue with Masters handling all my yard work. This 2-man team team, Team 3, still has my 5-star rating. And I am pleased not to have to make changes in my yard care. Kyle has serviced my yard a few times now. Very knowledgeable and thorough. Monday morning after that overnight freeze my back yard looked dead! I saw Kyle doing a service elsewhere in the neighborhood and asked if he could take a look. He stopped by, explained that its normal for zoysia, and treated the whole lawn. Definitely recommend these guys.

The Masters Lawn Care provides GREAT services. They take their time to understand what my yard needs, then take care of it. I recently signed up for their quarterly irrigation system inspection and Josh did an outstanding job - checking every irrigation zone and then finding and fixing issues I wasnt aware of - he fixed problems before they negatively impacted my lawn. Everyone at The Master s Lawn Care have done an excellent job. Several crews have worked on cleanup, weeding, mulching, installing new plants as well as weekly maintenance. Willy and his crew did a great job in a difficult cleanup, Josh, Andrew and Shay did an excellent job of installing new plants, mulching numerous beds with pine straw as well as renovate and reinstall an existing paver pathway. Aaron and Chris and another crew member do an outstanding job of maintaining what is now a beautiful, natural looking yard, but one under control. They all deserve 5 stars!

Everyone from the guy that gave me a quote, to the office staff I spoke with, and the crew that actually installed the sod and mulch was professional, kind, and did a quality job. Ive been using Masters Lawn Care for several years for all my all my yard and landscaping jobs. Today they put new sod near front of my house, removed some old shrub and planted new landscaping and mulch and it looks fantastic. Brandon & Timothy were professional, worked hard and did an excellent job! I really appreciated them taking the time to make sure each zone on my sprinkler set was set correctly to give the sod and new plants the proper amount of water for the next couple of weeks. We had a bad area in our backyard we planned to sod. The Masters Lawn Care provided a reasonable quote and scheduled us for the project. They worked to prep the area and then arrived yesterday to complete the prep and install the sod. Timothy and Brandon were professional and worked hard in the Florida heat to install the sod and instruct my wife and I how to take care of the new sod. We could not be happier with the results.

The Master s live up to their name! I had my backyard redone by them last week, and it looks incredible. The office staff are very friendly, accommodating, and responsive. They made a great plan and helped me visualize it. Don t underestimate the photo doodles! To top it off D Shaun and Andrew, the installation crew, were so friendly and truly cared about making sure the project was done correctly. They checked in throughout the project to make sure everything was to my liking and were happy to make any changes. They definitely had an eye for making landscaping beautiful. Scheduling was a nightmare. Expensive. Some parts of the job done right, some parts done horribly bad. Look elsewhere.

Removed and replaced our 14yr old scrubs.They designed a low maintenance planting. Kept us informed on time line, showed up on time and explained the steps they were doing. Removed a magnolia tree and ground the stump.Highly recommend.

Andrew and Ty from Masters Lawn Care did a really professional job planting shrubs to hide our newly installed generator (including moving an irrigation sprinkler head) and improved drainage to help mitigate some roof runoff. We have used Masters regularly for 2 years and they have always stood by their work I have been impressed with virtually all the people we have dealt with from the company.

Fantastic experience with Charlie and an irrigation repair. I called 3 other highly rated irrigation companies that couldnt be bothered to follow-up with a return call or scheduled visit. I was already a customer with The Masters and added an irrigation contract. Charlie and Justin came out to do some repairs, but didnt have a couple of the sprinkler heads on the truck and Charlie said he would be out the next morning to finish. My dog, who barks at every body within 100 feet didnt hear him show up at 7 a.m. to finish up. Knowledgeable, professional, clean, and reliable!

I am a repeat customer of The Masters Lawn Care, and recently hired them to renovate my front yard (previously landscaped beds), by clearing weeds and small volunteer trees, and replacing some old landscape plants that had outlived their usefulness. In this day and age, when we are at a loss to find honest, dependable, competent and helpful assistance with our various needs, I feel I have solved, at least one of my issues. After 15 years in my home, on Lake Hampton, we were in need of repairing and regulating our irrigation system. I contacted Bionca @ Masters Lawn Care. She noted my issues and called me back to arrange service, the following week, as we had just experienced a hurricane. Mike was the trained representative assigned to fix my issues. Within 5 minutes of his arrival, he was digging for my control valves, to locate the blockage in a particular zone. Having cleared the obstruction, he proceeded to inspect the entire 4-zone system, replace 2 faulty heads and, not only adjust my irrigation timing feature, but to reset the irrigation heads to provide proper coverage throughout the property. Within a couple of weeks, having trimmed hedges, etc., I found I needed additional adjustments, and contacted Taylor, who promptly and politely scheduled a follow up call. The morning Mike was due to return, I found myself confined to my bed and made another call, this time reaching Elizabeth. She advised that Mike was 20 minutes away, but she would cancel the call and reschedule to suit my needs. Today, Mike returned, and within 40 minutes, had replaced 2 additional heads, and repositioned a couple of heads where the watering patterns had been affected by my trimmings. Kudos (like 10 stars) for the patience of the staff in listening to what I needed, as well as the positive, professional handling, on a timely schedule, my service appointments. Mike is a fireball that attacks the issue, fixes it and moves on to whatever else is needed. These personnel are all professional in their approach, as well as their handling of a clients needs. I could not be happier in my dealings with this firm. I will use them again.

Clayton and his team are very responsive with our wishes and always goes above and beyond to surpass our deadlines. Our front yard needed some work and neither my wife nor I had the time to do it. We called The Masters Lawncare and they promptly made an appointment with Jared. Jared came over and we explained that we needed to improve the looks of the front yard and that we needed plants that would be low maintenance and would survive in the shade. Jared listened to our comments and made some suggestion that we felt were satisfactory. Within a day or two Jared sent us a detailed proposal which included pricing along with a landscape plan superimposed on to pictures of our existing front yard. We felt the price was very reasonable. Once we got approval from our HOA, we could give Jared a signed contract. He gave us a date that was a few weeks off. When the day came, a two-man crew showed up consisting of Dshawn and Andrew. Dshawn greeted us when we opened our front door. He introduced himself and Andrew and could not have been more pleasant. We discussed exactly which plants were to remain and his concern over the markings showing where existing cables were located. I felt he had a firm grasp of the situation before they started work. It was a very hot day but Dshawn and Andrew pushed on. Every time I had a question to ask, they stopped working and were very patient with me. They had to leave once to dispose of some of the excess material. Once they got back they promptly installed the plants and laid down the pine straw. They finished just before the skies opened up with a 45-minute deluge. It could not have come at a better time! We were extremely pleased with the work by The Masters Lawncare from start to finish and will not hesitate to recommend them to anyone needing lawncare services.

Masters is all about the attention to detail, and the extra mile in service. Shavarus called my attention to an ailing loropetalum in our front yard. He suggested replacing it. He then dug out the old one and this week he replanted the replacement I d picked up. We love Masters, especially Team 11. :)

Masters did a landscaping project in our backyard while my husband and I were away on a trip. They added edging and river rocks around some sandy areas that tend to erode when it rains hard enough to overflow the gutters. DShawn and Andrew worked on the project and it looks great! Im sure itll help a lot with soil loss in these areas of the yard.

We have used TMLC in the past for some yard clean-up jobs, and finally decided to switch to them for our regular lawn maintenance. The couple of companies weve used in the past seemed to just do the bare minimum, and sometimes less, but TMLC goes above and beyond to make sure needs and wants are met. We had a slight miscommunication occur in the completion of some services we had agreed to, and the mistake was rectified immediately with many apologies. Communication, caliber of service, cost, and general friendliness of everyone Ive worked with have all been great!

Timothy and Mo did a great job landscaping my front yard: they made new flower beds, planted a couple of palms surrounded by bromeliads and aloes, and put down new mulch in the backyard. They were courteous, professional, and very helpful!

French Drain Installation Timothy and Shavrus did a wonderful and very professional job installing a drain box and pipe to stop the water from coming in my garage door. They worked quickly and efficiently. Obviously knew what they were doing with slope of trench, pipe and drain box placement! They explained everything and left the area looking like a nice area of rock. Also very polite and careful with cleanup. They even blew off the large patio next to the work site. I did have to wait about 4 weeks to get on their schedule but I wanted someone I could trust with a drainage problem. I would, absolutely, have this company back .

The Masters Lawn Care renovated the existing landscaping which had been neglected by the previous owner of our new home. Services included design, demolition, installation of new landscape material, mulch, pine straw, and repair/expansion of the irrigation system. All work was done with excellent quality and professionalism and was done in the agreed upon time frame. I have to give a special shout out to Josh Ladd who helped with the design process and managed the project front to back. He was always patient, helpful and friendly. Tim and Shavarus did most of the demo and installation and were nothing short of outstanding. They were courteous, polite, and considerate of not inconveniencing our activities and schedule.
