We hired SimplyTurf last year upon the recommendation of my neighbor. Our lawn previous to their service was a disaster including thick weeds, patches of thatch and barren areas missing grass. Their service of our lawn since hiring has resulted in a thick vibrant and healthy lawn, free of weeds and patches of thatch. It has been a good investment to have brought them aboard.

We really appreciate the high quality service that we ve recevied from Patrick and his crew since we bought our home exactly 1 year ago. The grass is so plush and healthy now and the treatment they use has greatly reduced the grubworms and weeds that we used to see. We also appreciate the tick control for our backyard that faces the woods. Communicative, responsive and honest.

After a year of working with TruGreen, we were frustrated with TruGreens regional customer service so we looked for a different lawncare company in Northern Virginia. Patrick (the owner) at Simply Turf was quick to respond to emails, validated my concerns, and provided a competitively priced lawncare service. I happened to be home when Patrick and his assistant applied mosquito control. They answered my two quick questions politely and professionally. My wife and I would absolutely recommend Simply Turf to our neighbors and friends.

Signed up for an 8 step program from Simply Turf on 1/23/22. The company completed the first application on 3/22. On 5/16 I received an automated email informing me that the next application was scheduled for that week. No one showed up the entire week. No one from Simply Turf bothered to reached out with any information as to why the application was not done or when would it be completed. I had to call them. The person at the office only offered excuses and told me that Sometimes when Patrick gets behind he will come out on Saturdays and take care of missed appointments. Saturday came and Simply Turf was a no show again. Again, no email and no call to address the no show. I give them another call 5/23, Monday. I am told by the office staff that someone will be out that week. Simply Turf finally decides to show up mid-day on 5/24 while it is raining, and after a day and night of storms with heavy rain. I speak to the tech and ask if he will be using a push spreader to broadcast as the ground is wet and soft. He states that he does not use a push spreader and since his machine is about 800 lbs he could not and would not complete the application that day and it will have to be rescheduled. 9 more days go by, all days where weather wise would of been ideal to complete the application but Simply Turf does not show up. I contact the office, via email, yet again on 6/2. Jennifer, Client support replies and tells me they are scheduling my application for the next day. Apparently neither Jennifer, or anyone else at Simply Turf bothers to look at a forecast because they would of noticed that multiple storms would be moving through my area during the afternoon and evening of 6/2 creating the same conditions that there tech stated prevented him from completing the application. Sure enough two storms with heavy rain moved through. At this point I had my fill of Simply Turfs no-shows, poor communication, and inability to schedule my service. I email the company the evening of 6/2 and inform Simply Turf that since they could not manage to schedule and complete my application, in a total of 17 days, I was canceling my service. The response back was the equivalent of a shoulder shrug. I would not recommend this company to anyone. Lastly from what I saw the product the company uses Screaming Green Is a inferior organic slow release weed and feed in my opinion. All it did was green up the turf a bit short term, and while it helped with dandelions, it did little to nothing for other weeds. Do yourself a favor Stick to a synthetic lawn product and skip Simply Turf, there is nothing simple about their service. In response to the companies reply: I want to add that its AMAZING how quickly the company is to reply to a bad review (literally within 3 hours of posting). Too bad that communication effort was non existent during the 17 days before I canceled. Again, not one call, text or e-mail to explain not showing up or why it was happening. I had to take the initiative and call or email. If I hadnt I would probably still be waiting for the application to be done. The time to follow up and apologize for your poor communication and service was when I canceled not 2 weeks later only after I post a bad review. Too little too late Simply Turf.

I used this company for about a year. Turf looks good but they sprayed weed control too close to our flower beds and we lost some plants. I let the company know and they said their specialty was turf. I asked them if they would come and do a fall service without weed control and they said they werent taking clients and referred me to Matt Eyre in Warrenton. You should also know that they compensate customers for 5 star reviews via discounts on future service. Yes good and cheap but could be better.

This is my first time using this business but judging from the excellent transparency and customer service that I have received so far, its a cut (or two, or maybe five!) above the rest. I shopped around with some other major lawn service companies and only Simply Turf quickly gave me a clear, quick and detailed estimate in writing free from any questions, hedges or conditions. If you think that this is to be expected, you may be right. However, none of the other companies would give me a straight quote, not by a long shot. One of the companies had somebody call me who was clearly a salesperson that is not familiar with the lawn maintenance business since they were asking so many questions about the size of the lot and whether I wanted some small sections to be treated making it sound that a few square inches of turf would make a big difference in the cost of the program. After a long and very painful discussion over the phone, they provided me with a verbal estimate full of gimmicks that they refused to put in writing. In addition, all of the other companies asked to be paid in advance for the whole year in order to get that not-so-wonderful-deal of theirs. By contrast, Simply Turf charges for each application separately AFTER the work is completed. I cannot comment on the quality of Simply Turf yet since they applied the first treatment today. However, judging by all the hedges and conditions that the other companies impose, e.g., we guarantee the work but it may take two years before you see satisfactory results, I expect the quality of Simply Turf to be at least on par with theirs. Finally, please note that unlike the other companies, Simply Turf uses organic products.

I was struggling with so much weeds and crab grass infestation in 2020. While seeking various companies I came across Simply Turf on Google. Their price came fair and affordable so I signed up. After one application, I immediately saw the difference within couple days. Now the lawn is greener and 90%-95% of the weeds/charming charlies are gone. I cant wait for fall to get oversewed and see the full result!

We used Simply Turf last year, and got a late start (late Spring first treatment). Our tired and weed laden lawn looks better than ever now. By autumn we had noticeably less weeds, thicker grass, and reduced moss. The lawn was a real wreck at the beginning so it will take a little more time to get it where we want it. He treats about an acre of my property which was mostly weeds when he started, but after just one season it s showing some pretty great results. I especially love his notification system. He keeps you up to date on exactly when his team is coming to treat and then notifies you when it s safe to let your pets back on the lawn. This is a small firm that is just getting started and growing. Its owner, Patrick, is young, friendly, focused and knows what he and his small crew are doing. Very customer-service oriented. I have a very small lot (0.2 acre). It looked horrible, though Patrick said that the raw dirt had good potential. I dont want a putting green, just a nice, easy-and-inexpensive-to-maintain lawn. More importantly, I wanted to be able to talk to someone and ask questions, get simple direct answers that allowed for back-and-forth clarification, send queries via email and get answers, and walk over the ground together and understand what will happen soon and what will take a bit longer. After one summer and following his watering instructions carefully, the difference is startling. Patricks approach is totally different from the horrible treatment I received in 2018 from the company I hired in 2018. That company was THE top-rated company in the Washington Consumer Checkbook, but apparently the owner decided he did not need to care about a small customer. That owner came out to give an estimate in early 2018 and never came again. Never called me on the phone. Ever. Despite my pleas for him to call me. He sent his crews to cut-in seed on days with heavy rains scheduled (4 on that day in early Summer and 2.5 in September) and the rains washed away virtually all the seed. He never came to see, did not respond to any of my emailed questions (except to reply it will be OK), nor did he offer to respond to my many pleas to come and see what could be done. I would have been willing to pay for a re treatment (in dry weather) but he never offered me any substantive response. I was just a number on a calendar schedule. It was not the money - time was my enemy and he just did not care. In the end, I had to spend many thousands of dollars on one area putting in sod because he could not take the time to be decent to his customer.
