After Hurricane Beryl we were in a bad spot trying to manage all of the debris we had to deal with. We arent in the city limits so I had piles and piles of limbs and debris that it would have been basically months for me to deal with. Travis and his guys literally showed up and had the whole property looking like there had never been a hurricane at all in no time at all. It as HUGE! I cant say enough good things about this place.

We had a drainage problem between our house and the neighbors house. Both of our backyards would have standing water after any significant rain. After the Ground Guys installed 2 drains, no more standing water after 2+ days of rain. Very happy with the experience and knowledge of Chad generating a plan to solve our issue and the crew executing the installation of the drains. I highly recommend the Ground Guys.

From my yard and flower beds, to fertilizing my grass, to my sprinkler system, to hanging holiday lights, this company does it all! Chad is responsive and caring with all that he does!

Paid a good amount of money to install new sod in front yard. Looked great at first but later saw that the new grass came with nutsedge weed that had started growing. They deny this but in 23 years of living at my address, I have never had this issue. The weed is only in the new grass area they installed (not in the old grass next to it by the sidewalk or side yard). They tried to tell me the weeds blew in with the hurricane but it was there prior to the hurricane and only in my yard (none of my neighbors yards) and only in new grass. Then they tried to sell me a lawn and weed maintenance package to fix it -- so now I am expected to pay more for their poor sod. Their other fix was to provide one free weed treatment. One treatment will not fix this issue. I read that it can take up to 3 years to get rid of this weed. Another reviewer mentioned she was provided with some chemicals to treat the nut grass but I never received this offer - only offer was to keep paying $$ to have them fix with treatments. I chose GG because of so many raving reviews and cant believe that this is what I am stuck with. They do NOT stand behind their product and do not put customer first. I could not even get the owner to give me a call. I should have gone with my other quote. A VERY dissatisfied ex-customer!

09-16-24 - Update to review below. I reached out to The Ground Guys, per their response to my 1st review & they made things right. Would definitely recommend them. Workmanship I would give a 5. People in the office, I would give a 1 with an overall rating of 3. 5 - our yard looks great. The guys doing the work were amazing. Consulting me if they had any questions. 1 - Very poor communication. It s started with not letting me know that Ground Guys (GG) contacted 811 to mark any cables in the ground (I lock my back gate so 811 couldn t get in my backyard to mark any cables). When I contacted the office (the day that started working) they assured me it wouldn t be an issue. Well, it was. GG cut my fiber cable giving me no internet or TV for 4 days because that is how long it took AT&T to come out & fix it. GG agreed to pay the $100 that AT&T was charging me. I spoke with Ryan about the 4 days I was down & asked for a discount to compensate me for the 4 days being down (Also informed him that I talked AT&T out of charging me the $100). He said he would speak with the owner & get back with me. When he did get back with me he said GG would knock $100 off my over $10,000 bill. Less than 1% discount hardly made up for the 4 days. When people look at my yard, say how beautiful it is & ask who did. I will tell them but would not recommend them. Truly sad that this project turned out this way.

I currently replaced my Lawn Care, Cut and Weed Eat and Irrigation Company with one, The Ground Guys of League City. Chad, my main contact met with me. Talked about the services their company offers in plain English. They are going to do the weekly cut and weed eat, year around fertilization. Chad, unlike my previous 3 companies, is easy to get ahold of and responds very fast. One of my main issues was a portion of the yard was drowning from the sprinkler system. Ground Guys sent out Caleb within days of hiring them, he fixed problem in an hour. Their crew was here today and the cut and trim gives a cleaner, organized appearance. This is a highly professional group to do business with. The salesman Chad who set up our service was very detailed about what to expect and about all the services provided. The crew that come out and do the work are very polite and respectful. They absolutely do a great job as well! After trying a few local folks and Lawnstarter (which was a bit of a disaster), I am glad we found the Ground Guys and highly recommend this team to anyone looking for reliable yard care.

Since the original install they have been back several times to trouble shoot and fix a leaking valve, as well as adjust heads. I have been using The Grounds Guys for a year now and I am very satisfied with their work. Ms. Jessica Curl is my account manager and she has been very attentive to all of my questions and always responded in a timely manner. I have had them correct my yard drainage issues, keep my sprinkler system in top working order as well as handle all my yard and flower bed maintenance. They notify me when there is an issue and have the ability to correct the issue if I so choose. Due to a previous landscaper using trash grass to sod my yard, I just got The Grounds Guys to re-sod my yard which involved removing the old sod, leveling the lot so any water would drain away from the house, preparing the soil and applying the new quality sod. They did an excellent job. If you want a quality company, I would recommend using The Grounds Guys.

The crew showed up without warning. Luckily I was home. The natural gas, phone and cable lines were not marked until the day after my drainage system was put in. Poor coordination by the front office. The service is overpriced. My compliments to the crew that performed the actual work. They were communicative and kept me informed while they were doing the work.

We had the grounds guys come out to give us a quote on some new flower beds and revamping some old ones. Jessa knows plants and is an expert and helping the homeowner design and plant what would work best in your yard. The scheduling department is separate and that made it a little confusing at first. Luis was the crew leader and he did a great job communicating what was going to happen and made sure to address my concerns and slight placement changes. They were very respectful of our yard and maintained a clean working environment. Overall I can say it was a great experience and would use them again in the future.

I hired Ground Guys to remove landscaping and amend/till the soil to make my beds ready for spring planting. The job they did was subpar unfortunately and it will require many more hours of work on my end to complete the job they were hired to do. Multiple attempts to allow them to rectify the issue were made but nothing was done. Lots of miscommunication and errors were made that prevent me from being able to recommend them for anyone looking for landscaping work. These pictures are just from one area where roots from plants were left behind and flagstone was found only two inches down.

Irrigation system

When I made the appointment , I was told it would cost $100 to run a diagnostic to see what was wrong with my sprinkler system. The day of my appointment , the technician told me he didn t have all the tools he needed to perform the service and said someone else would have to come out and that the office would call me to make an appointment. No one called me so I called and made another appointment , this time they came and did the diagnosis. The bill I got was more than double what they said it would be and told me it was due to extra labor and fees. Also, the technicians left my grass and dirt over turned and didn t put anything back to where it was. This company is not transparent with how much they will charge you for services, I personally would not go back to them.

No one is ever responded to the message I left several days ago. :-( will continue my search for a landscape company / person. No, not posting to wrong business and based on recent review 2 weeks ago, I guess I wouldnt expect a better response. Thanks for confirming that I need to look elsewhere!

I am very pleased with the walkway and pad these guys did and the drainage system for the yard. They were on time, finished quickly and left my property looking better then when they started. I am definitely using them again

My backyard was left a disaster by my ex. The ground wasnt level, bamboo was spreading everywhere, debris left in piles and old compost bins dug in the ground. This wasnt a job for any regular lawn maintenance crew, hell, I wouldnt have been able to do it over multiple days. I needed a professional and The Grounds Guys did just that. They luckily had an opening sooner than I expected and finished the job within 1 day. They exceeded my expectations and I highly recommend them for residential extreme yard cleanups. Now my backyard just needs some tlc, something I can now do on my own.

Most of my sprinkler zones were out. I tried another service that was not able to get out for a few weeks and couldnt find the issue on the first visit. They charged me for coming out. I called TGG and they came out in a few days. TGG technician came out and couldnt troubleshoot because of a thunderstorm. They didnt charge for the call. They came out the next week and found the issue. The price was very reasonable. The technicial was courteous, professional, and knew what he was doing. They are my go to sprinkler service.

The Grounds Guy s were actually recommended by an irrigation company that could not meet our time schedule. We contacted the Grounds Guy s, they responded promptly (and came on time!), diagnosed the problem (a concrete leveling company had drilled through an irrigation pipe), made the repair and replaced all dirt and grass neatly. The serviceman was professional and courteous and service few was very competitive. I highly recommend them.

Technician Caleb arrived on scheduled date and time, fixed irrigation system main pipe break and tested and inspected all the irrigation zones. Very conscientious and detailed technician, truly professional.

Irrigation installation - They did a great job, however they could bring a heavy rolly to reseat grass plugs and pay attention to detail when putting landscaping back.

This is the 3rd company I ve had out to work on the sprinkler system and by far they are the best. They listened carefully to what I wanted and created the best solution which involved undoing and relocating several sprinkler heads. They adjusted it perfectly so that every plant is watered and no water is wasted on the sidewalk or driveway. They use good quality parts and come prepared with all the supplies they need in the truck. Sometimes the office staff gets confused with appointments. They canceled my appointment twice because someone at the office got mixed up. But it was worth the extra office hassle to get this crew. They might not be the cheapest but I will definitely be using them again and I recommend them to anyone.

The Grounds Guys of League City do an awesome job every time and provide excellent customer service! My sprinkler valve burst from the big freeze and was spraying water everywhere. They got someone out right away to find the underground valve that had gotten grown over with grass. They got the repair job done very quickly, did a thorough inspection of the whole system, and did it all at a very reasonable price. I highly recommend them and am a very satisfied customer. The ladies who handle the incoming calls are terrific as well!

We had our gutters done a couple of months ago. The Grounds Guys of League City did an awesome job! We were having our house painted and they were great about working with us around that. They came out and did the removal of the old gutters, the painters came, then they came back and put the new gutters on once painting was complete. The gutters look great, and have done a great job since installation. The crew leader, Luis, came out and did the design in advance, and was here with the crew for the actual job. Price was very reasonable. Absolutely would use them again, and highly recommend them!

Did a great job with the drainage issue and landscaping. They did have to come back to do some minor changes on the landscaping but were quick to correct the challenge. A little pricey but I was very pleased with the end product.

Finding a good contractor to perform work on your house can be a challenging effort. I recently hired a contractor to replace the gutters on my house, and that experience was quite stressful. The contractor I selected to do that work was troublesome to work with. So, when it came time to search for a contractor to do some landscaping work at my house, I was to say the least on pins and needles based on my horrible experience with the Gutter contractor. When I called The Grounds Guys, I was immediately impressed with the friendliness and enthusiasm of the lady I spoke with (I apologize for not remembering her name). What a stark contrast to the confrontational person I had been dealing with at the Gutter business! I fumbled my way through an explanation of what I wanted done at my house. I told her that I wanted several things done: (1) I needed my backyard re-sodded; (2) I needed a drain system installed that could eliminate water pooling in my backyard near the house foundation; (3) I needed mulch put down in the flower beds; and (4) I was interested in exploring the option of installing an irrigation system. Somehow the lady I spoke with understood what I was asking for, and she assured me that The Grounds Guys were quite experienced with doing all that I wanted. I met with Travis at the house, and we talked about my project. He took the time to listen to the problems I was having keeping grass growing in the backyard (huge oak tree soaking up moisture, lots of shade, and dogs tearing up the place). He clearly explained to me several options I could follow to get new sod installed and keep the grass GROWING. He also talked with me at length about my drainage problem. He offered solutions that I hadnt thought of (like tying gutter downspouts into the drain pipe. Finally, Travis talked with me about the irrigation system. He educated me a lot about irrigation zones and watering techniques. It wasnt long after I talked with Travis that he emailed me a quote for the project, which included a several options to bring the project to different price points. I appreciated that. My communication with The Grounds Guys throughout the entire project (from inception, to in-progress, to wrap-up) was fantastic; someone was always quite responsive to my emails and phone calls. The work that The Grounds Guys did was way above-and-beyond what I was expecting. The new sod looks spectacular (and as of this writing is beginning to grow). The irrigation system was well worth the investment and does everything I wanted. And the guys who installed the irrigation system did an amazing job returning the yard to look as though they hadnt torn it up at all to lay in all the piping. And it may sound like a trivial thing regarding the mulch, but the team that installed the mulch far exceeded the job of just shoveling mulch into the flower beds. The team took the time to pull some weeds in the flower bed; they took time to dress up some Bull rock that was installed in the flower beds; and they accommodated a real-time change I asked for when installing some Bull rock in the backyard. It was clear that this team was not only interested in doing a great job, but also making sure the customer was satisfied. Overall I would say that I was ecstatic with the final results of all the work The Grounds Guys did at my house - all for a reasonable and fair price. I wouldnt hesitate in the least to hire them for future projects. My only regret is that I didnt hire them to do my gutters!

The Grounds Guys installed a French Drain on one side of our house which tends to pool up and get muddy. From the very beginning i was impressed by the responsiveness of their team to all of our questions and providing a quote very quickly. A date was scheduled for the work to take place and they ensured the utility lines were marked by a third party company. On the day of work, they were very nice to us and completed the job in a timely manner without any issues. Afterwards, I appreciated how they followed up and made sure everything was to our satisfaction. I would highly recommend using The Grounds Guys for any yardwork projects you may have. Id say the price we paid was fair and reasonable especially for the quality of work and customer service we received all throughout this process.

The grounds guys always do a good job. They put in our sprinkler system and Extended our patio with pavestones several years ago. They maintain our sprinkler system and fix broken pipes that were broken with a shovel when planting!! When they leave you would never know that they were there because they clean up after fixing the problem. That is very important to me when hiring a contractor. We have not had the best experience with gutter installs with the grounds guys. The crew was late the first day, I had to call to verify they were still coming out that day. They did finally show around 11:15 but then proceeded to take an almost 2 hour lunch break. Came back and prepped the house for the gutter install. Left at 3:00 and said they would be back first thing in the morning to finish the install by noon. Left cigarettes and a lighter on my back porch (thankfully my two young children knew to bring them straight to me). Next morning they dont show until almost 9:30. Lead guy tells me it may be slow bc the other guy is new and scared of heights. I am working full time from home so I just asked and verified they would be done today. He assured me yes. Fast forward to 11:30 - comes and tells me they are leaving for lunch and will be back. At this point Im in the middle of a conference call. They show back up at 1:15. About 10 minutes into working I hear a crash. They put a ladder through a window. Only 1 gutter is up on the right side of my house at this point. I immediately call my husband who was already on the phone with the owner Travis asking him to please come. Travis showed up quickly and assured us it would get fixed and gutters would be done by the end of the day. He had a guy come measure the window and assured us it would be fixed in 7-10 business days Gutters are finally done around 7:30pm. Did not install the second rain barrel and had to come back in the am. It is now 2 full weeks later and my window is still not fixed. We were told the new window has not come in and should be done by June 10th.. called again today and now they are saying we have to pay for it ourselves and they will reimburse us bc that is faster. I requested a call back from the owner and have yet to get one and they are now closed . Needless to say we are extremely frustrated customers with a broken window but I will say the gutters have worked great! I have tried to give the benefit of the doubt here but lack of communication is a major concern for me here. It is never easy to have a crew break something but be professional and assure your customer gets everything back to the way it was as quickly as possible.

They did a great job on responding to my call. With the heavy rains we had I ddI have a couple of issues but they addressed and corrected each one.

The Grounds Guys installed our rain gutters at a price that was lower than expected, the installers were professional and friendly, and the gutters installed were larger than standard gutters and were painted to provide a near perfect match with my homes existing paint. The job was top notch and I will gladly hire them again and refer them to friends and family.

Ryan contacted me and rectified the situation and provided me with some chemicals to treat the nut grass as well as offered to come and treat it once for no cost. ---- Hired them to work on landscaping around my pool and specifically get rid on nut grass. Nut grass is back as if it was only pulled and not treated. Was told theyd quote me a lawn and weed maintenance package to fix it. Sounds like a racket to me.

I used another landscaping company last spring to do a major landscaping job. I had a lot of pavers put down and thousands of dollars in plants. They did a terrible job planting, had no idea how or where to plant stuff. Bottom line, it was a hot mess and made all the money I spent on the sandstone really a waste because the yard still looked stupid. I had used The Grounds Guys last fall to do fall clean up and try to amend some of the soil where the other guys planted everything just down in this old black gumbo clay we in Houston fondly refer to as soil and most of it was either dead, dying or just looked bad. The Grounds The Grounds did as much as they could without major overhaul and it looked much better through the winter. BUT com spring, it still looked tacky due to plants being planted in inadequate soil and totally in the wrong places as far as sun/shade etc. So...I went to The Grounds guys and said, Help!!! And they did! They went above and beyond what anyone could expect, helping me move existing plants to better locations, building beds that actually contained soil they would grow in, putting in chop stone borders to hold the good stuff in place. They are not inexpensive...however the other guy was not at all either and did not have a clue about plants. The Grounds Guys actually know what they are doing The folks on the team that brought my yard back to health and beauty were Jessica (or Jessa as she likes) who was awesome when it came to knowing how and where to plant, the proper nutrients to add to the soil so the transplanted stuff would grow and just plain fun to work with. The guys, Eric, Anthony and Donny were great, very polite and professional and worked their behinds off. What took months for the other guy to mess up took them a couple of days to fix. We are going to continue the project, putting in at least one more bed later in the spring and filling in some bare places when more blooming plants are available, but if you love your yard like I do...couldnt find a better bunch to work with. They get a little busy but if you are patient, you will not regret it. They are the best Ive found and Im picky about my yard.

We were apprehensive but had to find a reputable sprinkler repair company. Our last experience was not good. The Grounds Guys of League City had excellent reviews, arrived on schedule, spoke to us in English, reviewed our needs, made suggestions, performed the work, reviewed their work with us to ensure satisfaction, left no mess behind for us to contend with, and left. The bill was well below my expectation and the service work was well above my expectation. The office called to ensure we were satisfied. I highly recommend The Grounds Guys of League City.

Im a new customer and so the first job was cleanup. The Grounds Guys did a great job cleaning the beds and fence line. There was no corner cutting like my previous crew, they just tackled the job and got it done with excellence.

I had them put 6 gutters on my home and they did a good job. The only problem is they did not have the right materials nor did they show up on the day they were suppose to. Did not call and to reschedule had to take off two days. Would have helped to call and saved a day. Then they were suppose to repair my sprinkler system. Boy did they put it to me .

I have used the Grounds Guys in the past and will use no other. They are prompt in arrival as well as efficient in their repairs etc. They checked all of my sprinkler heads for efficiency and repaired ones that were not watering certain sections of my yard. The Grounds Guys are very conscientious in taking care of my yard. In addition to regular mowing, they keep my boxwoods trimmed and pull weeds. They (the office and the workers) are very responsive. Just recently, they mulched both front and back yards for a reasonable rate.

I just moved into a new home, noticed a couple of problem areas during rain showers. My daughter told me about the Grounds Guys, they put gutters on her home. I m so glad I called them, gutters put up yesterday and I ve got to say that I m so glad I did so too! The color is perfect, no leaks and the problem areas are gone! The guy they sent, Sam, was Amazing!!!! Super fast and very professional, very knowledgeable and even taught me a few things about my sprinkler system. Fixed all the problems I had (broken sprayheads and misaligned sprayheads) then reran a system check before leaving. Ryan and Travis were great to work with. They really listened to what I wanted and created a beautiful space that was within my budget. I couldnt be happier with the result. The guys were patient and especially considerate of my issue with our large dogs in the back yard that love to eat plants. They worked around my beasts like champs!

These guys are good, a bit pricey but dependable. They take care of mowing, as we want it, and do a few other odd ball things in the yard. As I said not the cheapest but the most reliable we have had.

I have used The Grounds Guys in League City for several years. They have installed both a sprinkler and lighting system and installed gutters. I have also used them for flower bed revitalization. They have been professional, responsible and back up their work. They promptly respond to issues and work to resolve it. On a personal note, I was affected by Harvey and got a call from Travis. I thought to follow up to see if I needed landscaping post Harvey, but no, it was to see if I needed manpower help in getting my house torn out. I expect I will continue to use The Grounds Guys for a long time.

Travis and his guys are outstanding! We moved into a patio home with drainage issues. Travis came out, gave us a quote, and had three french drains installed in a matter of days! His team was hard working and did a good job of cleaning up and making it look as good as possible considering they had to dig a huge trench in our yard. They corrected some issues with the gutters that were previously installed by someone else and even gave us some tips for what we should do moving forward to protect our new home. When we found a minor error in location of one of the french drains (due to a miscommunication between me and the workers), Traviss guys came back out and remedied the issue very quickly. I highly recommend these guys and we will be using them again in the future to install new gutters.

The crew showed up on time and completed the project in a couple of hours and on budget. The installation crew worked amazingly well together as a team.
